Hi there, I was hyped to know they are doing another management sim, but the more I think about the more I get worried, because I can help to have pretty high hope for it.
I played the GBA Japanese version the mode has a lot of fun factors, but you can only play with the pre made characters is also the greatest limitation of the mode, and you can only enjoy so much from it.
I know it’s not much of a problem for PC, there’s always mods that can change things, but I am worried about the vanilla fire promoter will suffer the same problem. But well on the bright side we still have the NJPW real life wrestlers.

So, no need to worry about it being defaults only like Match Maker for FPR was.

It wasnt even premades only, it was that choosing an Edit for the mode locked them into that save and updating them wouldnt affect the mode.
We kinda thought that sucked.

You can actually use your own edits when playing the GBA Management Mode. You just have to set a custom cost value for them.

Yeah, the GBA version allowed custom edits. It was the FPR booking mode that only allowed premade edits. Fire Promoter is almost verbatim the GBA version.
My biggest concern, and real turn off, with Fire Promoter is that it doesn't track anything. It keeps absolutely ZERO history, including title belts at this point. Some people may not be bugged by this, but to me, that makes it essentially a long string of unconnected matches that it's hard to give a shit about.

Over on Creative I shared a downloadable promoter record keeper that’s pretty good (there’s also Carzilla’s MOTW, but I like keeping a backup; plus stats are sortable.

Without some sort of historical tracking, Fire Promoter is worthless for my needs.

I had assumed it would maintain records, titles, etc. So it’s just some game for raising finances and revenue?

Yep. That's literally all it is.
It's a lite business management sim tacked onto Fire Pro. It will be of absolutely no use to anyone running an actual promotion, as it's too focused on being a game to be a useful tool.

You have to run your company against all the others. Book cards, draw crowds, sell merchandise, hire talent, find talent, trade talent, put on good matches, provide training facilities, acquire tv coverage, sell toys, etc.

Yeah, I feel like people have this weird, idealized version of it in their minds and not the reality that it's a one-player game mode that is you competing against CPU-run promotions to see who can come out on top. It's not WWE Universe Mode or anything like that.

I guess we’ll never escape using pens and notebooks for Fire Pro. I updated my 15-year-old roster yesterday by way of writing down all of the names, ranks, and charisma levels for World in a notebook, with 4 different colors of ink. No, we'll never escape notebooks and pens! (to quote my friend "the best way to book involves a yellow notebook and blue pens!") In other news, Promoter plays more like TEW without the depth, rather than Universe Mode.

Then rather just to stick a bog standered finance mode ?
