Oof, kinda glad I'm not getting the PS4 version... that's a significant delay.

Just curious; Is there any incentive to buy the PS4 version if you already own the PC version? I'm noticing quite a bit of people that are doing this. Is it really just to support the developers? I'm buying it on PS4 because I prefer to play video games on a console. I'm not a PC gamer.

I hook it up to the TV and play with a PS4 controller. 9 outta 10 people I ask say they can't tell the difference.

I have it on Steam, but I can't wait to move on to PS4. Just the other day I was making a kick ass Darby Allin edit and right as I was going to enter the name the stupid thing crashed and lost all the progress. I'm done with the Steam version at least until I get my tax rebate and maybe upgrade.

I see a lot of people here underselling the content we're getting with this DLC. First off, people are saying that the edits on the workshop look just as good, but I can't agree with that. Don't get me wrong. People have done amazing work with the tools they have. But were getting the exact designs for everyone in the dlc. Not only that, but they're far more detailed than anything that's been in fire pro before. Just look at Yanos tights. They're incredible.
More parts means more inventive original characters, and more accurate real life edits. And were getting a TON of new parts.
I suppose I understand the criticism if you're the type who doesn't really care that much how an edit looks. But as someone who spends just as much time on appearance as logic, this dlc has me hyped, and if other dlc follows the same formula, then sign me the fuck up.

More parts + More moves should be a no-brainer to any prolific edit maker. That alone makes this worthwhile and then some. Plus, with the new parts, we get the official edit heads, which give us more head bases than we had before. Even if they're similar to the facsimile heads, more edit heads are always great to have.

But as someone who spends just as much time on appearance as logic, this dlc has me hyped, and if other dlc follows the same formula, then sign me the fuck up. This sums up my feelings. Even if there are niggling inaccuracies, the fact that we're getting parts to make our own wrestlers, or to improve upon Spike's work, can't be ignored. The fact that we're getting a full-on story mode with the official wrestlers is cool too. Like, there's literally no way to accurately replicate Yano's floral tights, or Kushida's stripes, or anything using in-game assets. There's no way to make a Naito with a real LIJ shirt and cap. There's no way to do Kenny's, Ibushi's, or really anybody else's kickpads using in-game assets. While an argument can be made, "Oh, you can just make them yourself with custom moves and parts," what if a.) you're on console or b.) you actually want to share your edits without having to use a bunch of ancillary mods like Ace's costume loader, Carl's moveset expansion, etc.? Like Spike isn't perfect, no, but I'm getting a little bored with the constant underselling of the NJPW DLC and the concept of added content for Firepro in general. It sounds an awful lot like complaints about having to spend 20 bucks for a game that doesn't have fuckin' gradients.

If you're not mentioning the story mode and voice work, then you're not selling about $10-$15 of the DLC's value. The extra parts & moves alone aren't worth the full asking price, even if it's nice to have more of them. I'm all for solo move/part DLC if Spike ever wants to do it, as long as they price it accordingly.

The story mode is going to have... a lot of plot branches, it seems. If you liked No Mercy's story, I feel like this is up your alley, with some extra wrinkles like your match quality likely affecting story progression. If you're not a Best Bout Machine, how are you going to get your final showdown with Okada or Kenny?

I just realized that with the NJPW Story mode DLC/PS4 FPWW Launch coming very soon, I'm actually gonna have to *play* the game instead of just simming matches.
Unless you can just Sim story mode?

It's possible they'll allow you to sim the story mode matches, not sure what the game mode would lose from that choice. You'll still be constrained to Young Lion moves/parameters regardless of who plays, and you'll still need to actively make choices during the Visual Novel portions of the game. I can't remember a game mode where you were forced to actually play besides Mission/Tutorial Mode, tbh.

I admit, I've never played a Fire Pro game before FPWW so I have no idea what the story modes in the older tiles (that had a story mode) is like. It'd be neat if we can sim the matches.

I haven't read much about the story mode so I had just assumed it would be a typical linear story mode.
