Downloading edits from the Workshop is probably the biggest reason to buy the DLC for those not interested in Fighting Road or Fire Promoter. I know all of my current and future edits will need it, as will probably all the heavy-hitters.

Have we gotten any confirmation regarding whether edits with DLC parts/moves will be unavailable for downloading/use if you don't own the DLC? I can't remember if the Takayama DLC just locked the edit or replaced the missing move if you didn't own it. It wouldn't be a great choice to introduce an official item with the potential to lock out existing workshop edits by design, tbh.

Currently you cannot download an edit that requires DLC if you don't own the DLC.

Hopefully they do some kind of compatibility pack as part of update or it could get a bit messy

Moves and edit parts alone will be worth it. If you don't think so, then there shouldn't be any problems on the workshop for you.

If we're getting any other licensed promotions, I feel like it'd be DDT, given that they've had a pretty good relationship with Spike Chunsoft all this time. Cani ask why they haveas I’m not to clued up on them being involved with spike... also think that if they add others it would only be like mainstream sort off things like roh maybe cmll even Lucha Underground.. or what ever is big in Japan. I thought the only reason they went with njpw is because of the attention that get world wide

The closest of the three would be ROH and really they're just a company that New Japan works with. Hell, LU isn't even mainstream in the US.

Oh and didn’t the creator say he wanted to do something with roh ?

If the Japanese PS4 version bombs, we're probably not gonna get much more content past what's been announced. If the US PS4 version bombs, well...it bombs.

If the game does decent and ROH approaches then with a good deal they’d probably listen but I can’t image what a deal with a US company would offer other than advertising. Not like the ROH roster is loaded with outstanding talent at this point that don’t already work with New Japan

I would think considering there following they would get it a lot of attention if done properly

I don't think this will be an issue for the PS4 players, however I could see it being the "nail in the coffin" of sorts for anyone who may be interested in the PC version but hasn't picked it up yet. It's not like the dev team makes the final business decisions, so can't be mad at them. The executives however...

I do get it sort of, but this is the kind of game that actually needs the support so we can still get updates. They could always add the appearance peices in a patch so you could see and use workshop submissions, but I can see them not doing that. Need to but the DLC. They need the support anyway. There will be free updates this way, plus the future DLCs won't work without this one anyway, like the story modes coming later.
