Apologies about including the wrong number about the 2K move pack. I misread the article on a fansite. It only listed four moves. Wasn't trying to cause a 2K vs Fire Pro derail.

One of their packs had I think 27 moves. But as Roddy once said, "who gives a fuck" about how many they offer. I personally wish they didn't have the extremely detailed graphics as the caws always look horrible. Back on topic, somewhat, do you guys see this game being a platform for other promotions when this NJPW content is done? I could really see ROH, CMLL or even impact dlc keeping this game going. It might be like microtransactions ( ) but in this game, I would absolutely love and support it, as that is exactly what is want with this game.

Unlikely, I don't expect the second and third scenario DLC packs to be received as well as the NJPW pack will. And when the uninformed get their hands on Fire Promoter and realize it's not the "WWE Universe" mode they wanted, there will probably be a lot of complaints. I think we'll get the upcoming DLC, then Spike will give the team a few months to wrap up development.

The only way I see that happening is if the PS4 version does gangbusters and the current DLC does the same. I could see a path where they simultaneously work on a Switch GOTY port and a second wave of DLC at the same time. Like imagine them wrapping up the third piece of DLC by Q1 2019, then they would have a mad dash to port the PS4 version to Switch and produce another three pieces of DLC by Q4 2019. That way they can not only sell a season pass for Switch but hit the PS4/PC audience again. Personally I would love that. RevPro or CMLL as the third piece of DLC. ROH as the lead piece of season pass #2. Whichever promotion wasn't selected for the third piece. And maybe a woman's branch covering Women Of Honor and the CMLL women's division as the final piece. Or a new match type bundle. It'd be cool for elimination and a real battle royale become official for console players. But that doesn't seem very likely at the moment. Seems like Spike is ready to wrap this up if they don't get blown away by the launch numbers and Director's silver tongue won't be able to talk his way out of that.

Maybe they'll all pitch in and fund one big Japanese wrestling DLC! Inoki knows they could use the exposure.

I mean, a BJW or FREEDOMS add on that features some new deathmatch stuff or even a match type would be sweet.

All Japan and Big Japan would be my two major wants but I'm not expecting us to get any licensed promotions past New Japan.

I honestly feel it would be a miss if nothing else happens. So much potential.

If we're getting any other licensed promotions, I feel like it'd be DDT, given that they've had a pretty good relationship with Spike Chunsoft all this time.

I won't discount 2K for the work they put in, but they're also a much bigger team compared to the Fire Pro team, and they still seem to put out a bug-filled mess every year that looks pretty but fails to capture the pure thrill of a wrestling match. Simmed matches finish in wacky ways, almost rarely in ways they should end, Universe mode has myriad issues, the promo engine has no consistency and makes most of the wrestlers sound like goobers. 2K's backed against a wall with this series, though. WWE has demanded that it has to be a yearly release, which gives them no time to iron out any bugs, and because Yukes is not a great company, building on top of an engine that's already almost 20 years old.
I understand why the WWE games are the way they are, but that doesn't mean we should accept it and throw $100 at them every year.
