Haven't checked the boards in a while and wholly crap a lot has happened. Anyway, so the DLC is going to be almost twice as much as the game? Not digging that at all. depends on what you count as "the DLC" in my amazing ability to downsell the game, counting the NJPW story mode along with the $50 for the season pass (which has 2 more story modes and the management mode), it would work out to be more than twice the price of the game at $30. Three times for early access. ... boy, I'm doing a bad job of making this even remotely appealing... But, we don't know what the price of everything will be like on PC. Or if there will be a discount period, similar to what other publishers have provided for somewhat more niche games. Basically, if it seems like too much (and... I'll be honest, it sort of does), don't jump into it whole hog. Especially if there's no discount on the season pass, which currently there does not seem to be.

Yep, there's no shame in not buying everything just because it's from Spike. Treat it like DLC for any other game, and buy what appeals to you. And if the PC Season Pass happens to be discounted and you want all the DLC, then buy it.

Here's a better way to frame the DLC. World was extremely bare-bones when it was released and it was priced accordingly. This DLC is the equivalent of a large expansion pack. We're getting 50 licensed NJPW wrestlers, 50 new heads to better match those wrestlers' likeness, an unknown number of new edit parts, a minimum of 50 new moves, updated Fighting Road for the first time in America, updated Management Of The Ring for the first time in America and two additional scenarios for Fighting Road. That's alot of content. Even if the season pass is $50 on PC, that's still only $70 total for something you've already spent hundreds of hours playing and will probably continue playing for the next 5+ years. The more copies it sells on PS4, the more DLC it sells on PC, the more likely that development won't end in Q1 2019 when the third piece of DLC is released. If you're cool with this being the last hurrah for the Fire Pro series, by all means, wait for a sale or pass on the extras.
edit: It's weird to me that the community that use to say they'd pay $100 for a pc port of Returns before World was announced and, even a few months ago, was talking about how'd they happily pay for substantial new content is shrugging their shoulders at what's slated. I honestly don't get it.

They need a pricing structure that entices/brings in the casual players. If the casual players do not buy, and based on this pricing structure they probably won't, then development will cease regardless. The handful of dedicated fans won't be enough to keep development going on its own, so no point in going all-in just because it's Fire Pro.
A better way of supporting the game would be to buy additional copies and gift them, tbh. Get more people into the game, and hopefully they'll spread the word.

That's $50 for base World + 39 NJPW + Story Mode. The content is the draw. NJPW and the ability to do something besides exhibition matches. I don't think that crowd would flinch at the price of the DLC because the content is substantial. $20 for a management mode? Ok. $15 for a new scenario in Story Mode and a bunch of wrestlers? Whatever. Especially when you compare that to the DLC on the WWE 2K games. Those maniacs are charging $10 each for a 5 pack of new wrestlers or $4 for 40 new moves or a $30 season pass for 10 wrestlers, 40 moves, the ability to unlock/edit everything and career mode currency. Buying a copy for a friend is nice but I don't get why you aren't interesting in the new content for yourself. Even if you don't care about playing Fighting Road, the new edit parts and moves don't interest you? They said that we'll be able to edit the NJPW wrestlers so we should be able to tweak the logic to our liking. edit: And if 40k sold is all they could get from the PC community while the base game was $13-20, the platform is a lost cause for Spike/Fire Pro unless a large percentage of existing owners turn up to purchase the DLC.

He quotes me for some stuff but not for his news on EU version and English option in the Japanese version and I haven't heard about either. I'd be surprised if there wasn't an English option in the Japanese version, lots of games have language options now.

Especially when you compare that to the DLC on the WWE 2K games. Those maniacs are charging $10 each for a 5 pack of new wrestlers or $4 for 4 new moves or a $30 season pass for 10 wrestlers, 4 moves, the ability to unlock/edit everything and career mode currency. I'm not sure what you're talking about, but the 2K move packs contain 50+ new moves, not just 4. That would be absurd.

Yes but you need to consider that these "maniacs" are working on much more detailed models that come with full body scanning, authentic movement capturing, and they need to create authentic entrances for each character and impliment them in specific modes within the game. The detail in a 2K model is significantly greater than Spike-created models on the Fire Pro engine. Aldo as the poster above me said; There's much more moves in the moves pack.

On the other hand, from a single player standpoint, I feel like Yukes kind of fails to deliver with their various DLC packs. You get about an hour or two of linear story progression since their specialty the past few years has been just re-telling certain feuds (i.e. the 2K15 rivalries DLC, 2K16-17 having Showcase matches for the hall of famers, etc.). And, welp, I have to kinda raise my eyebrow a bit at the claim that there are "more moves" in 2K's move packs. The first piece NJPW content will include 50 moves on its own on top of the Fighting Road story mode. This isn't counting anything else added with the junior heavy story DLC, the 3rd story mode, or any free moves coming (though, to be fair, it seems unlikely we'll be getting 50 more free moves) While they're not motion capped for ~authenticity~ -- which, to get overly opinionated, almost always has this strange floatiness to it that makes the moves feel like they lack impact -- they are still put together by hand using their debugging tools. The detail on modern guys in 2K is good for the most part, from a visual fidelity standpoint; but there just feels like there's something missing with Yukes' games. Not to mention that, for all the detail put into those modern WWE superstars, the old-school guys often look pretty fucking terrible... Like, the hair on pretty much every version of Warrior looks off. The hair on DDP is really low detail, plus the fact that they haven't made a DDP that represents him at his peak popularity is disappointing. And woof the 1980s Flair looks bad...
