I've finished the Big 4 (Okada, Omega, Naito and Tanahashi). Also, I went back and completely re-evaluated my approach to move sets, logic and parameters. Here are the basics of my new process:
Nerf special skills as they make some guys unbeatable. Do or Die and Reborn are monster skills and make Okada and Omega simply unbeatable by any other wrestlers. I've removed those skills, and the 25 point second-tier skills, from all my edits. All of my NJPW edits will now have either a 15-point first-tier special skill, or no special skill at all.
Parameters are kept at the same total, but I subtract 2 from every offensive category and add 2 to every defensive category. MMA and Entertainment are adjusted by 1 instead of 2 as they are pretty meaningless in 99% of cases. This promotes longer matches in general, yet still has them end after a finisher or two.
Move sets are left as close to "vanilla" as possible, only making changes to moves that seem out of place, useless, or replaced by a more current move. I am trying to do less of a full overhaul and more of an update as the vanilla NJPW move sets are entirely accurate.
CPU Logic is also left closer to vanilla but with some notable changes. I've taken 10% from "Initiate Grapple" and added it to "Stand Back (Stall)" as this promotes edits breathing more and, as a result, longer matches. Percents have been adjusted for striking grapples (Elbow Butt, Short Elbow Rush) as the vanilla edits seem to have forgotten that NJPW matches have tons and tons of striking in the end as well as the beginning of a match. Priority Chains have been re-worked. I tried to keep as many of the vanilla priority sequences as possible, but removed some that were useless or too situational in order to add some more practical ones. Showmanship, Discretion, Flexibility etc. have not been adjusted.
Attires recreated as realistically as possible. The vanilla edits seem to have 25% shine on every piece of attire and simply changing this and altering some colors is enough to make them look 100% better. New 2019 attires have been added for all 4 wrestlers.
Red Shoes Unno is included and created in balance with these edits. He gives you plenty of 2.9's, but matches end when they should since his movement and count speed is Medium Fast.
I am going down the line and trying to get everything done as quickly as possible. Suzuki and Goto can be finished tonight and I am hoping to get even further work done on the rest of the roster this weekend.
