 G2 2020: FINALS
Another year, another Golden Gate Tournament is in the books- with the MAIN EVENT of Warriorversary 4 now locked in. If was a night that fittingly represented a wacky tournament where goofy outcomes, outside interference tomfoolery, and production issues created a bit of a turbulent environment. So… basically it was a typical pro wrestling event.  Press ConferenceAfter a brief hiatus, Warrior Pro Wrestling finally announced its 4th annual anniversary show: Warriorversary will be held Sunday October 9th at 8am PT. Owner Tank McDaniel, who has stepped back from the day to day operations this past year, made a rare appearance at the press conference to promote the companies biggest show, and announce the marquee match-ups. Acting as a bridge between the G2 and Warriorversary 4, Warrior Grounds featured the return of stars, the making of matches, the delivering of angles... you know, a basic wrestling show. But a good one! Honest, lots of stuff happened, almost all of which was entertaining I swear.

With little notice, Warrior Pro Wrestling President “Lanky” Lefty McDaniel held a press conference today at Gorilla Hall. If there was any doubt that this was in response to a certain someone’s impromptu press conference, that was quickly resolved when Lefty came to the podium in a familiar looking mask, carrying (and somehow eating) a ham sandwich... Despite numerous question’s getting thrown out Lefty tosses the half eaten sandwich aside and leaves the room…

There hasn't been any official statement or press release from President Evil's camp, regarding the recent challenge laid down by Lefty McDaniel for Warriorversary, but this was posted earlier today on the store page of the Official Evil Administration Website, and I'm assuming this means yes:

Despite the lack of a formal "yes", President Evil's acceptance of Lefty McDaniel's match finalizes the card for Warrior Pro's biggest show of the year. Warriorversary will be taking place at the usual Moffett Field with four titles on the line, plus numerous grudge matches with possible title implications. One big mystery, who will team with Markus Winter against his former manager Triple J and former world champ Vic Baron? We're told his partner will likely not be revealed until the match itself. It was a hellova show, with four titles on the line, and future title implications being fought up and down the card. And if thats not enough, the post show press conference went to shit before it could even get started. Earlier this week Lucha POWER announced the card (subject to change, it is lucha after all) for their biggest show of the year, Dia de los Muertos. The headliner- recent Golden Gate finalist Jack Gold will be challenging for the Lucha Power belt against reigning champion Diego Guerrero. Other big matches include Los Terribles facing off against Paco Pequeno’s goons, Machine Gun Mayhem and Dungeon Dominguez, the return of ZDM vs a team that’s debuting El Hijo de Blue Puma, and El Macho’s first match back since hip surgery. Also on the card, former Warrior Pro World Champion John Logan makes his promotional debut against an also debuting El Destructo- that giant dude that oddly interfered in Jack Gold’s match during the G2. Lucha POWER has oddly done little press leading up to the show, with El Macho holding a conference call earlier in the week stating that the show was a sell out, and that “the card speaks for itself.” He also mentioned that his opponent would be a surprise guest from Tri-State Lucha Libre, a promotion that he hopes will continue to partner with going forward. There were no comments about Warrior Pro Wrestling, despite John Logan’s booking, or any comment on why the promotion didn’t participate in Warriorversary earlier this month. Dia de los Muertos will broadcast LIVE THIS SUNDAY AT 8am PST on TWITCHMEANWHILE… Paco Pequeno entertained a smattering of reporters for his own press conference blocks away from Arena Antiguo, the site of Sunday’s show. Sunday was a day for celebrating the dead (well not really- since actual Dia de los Muertos is in November but the arena was booked for a huge carnival so late October was the closest the promotion was going to get) and for watching lucha. Dia de los Muertos, the biggest show of the year for the promotion, was filled with high spots and drama.
