High Noon was a wild show, with a lot of surprises throughout- including an invasion from AAW! Full results below, including matches, recaps, and promos. Pre-ShowRecap: Preshow featured two Young Gun matches from two of Warrior Pro’s more promising rookies. Both Castillo and Simmons put up a good fight, but in the end the veterans prevailed. The first pre-show match also marked the debut of Loco Dixon, who will be taking part in AAW’s deathmatch tournament later in the month.
Winners: Loco Dixon and Austin Baron Match Rating: N/A Gears of War vs MassholesRecap: As expected, this match was physical and hard hitting from the jump. Massholes came out early with Joey O’Shea tossing Bobby Clash to the outside, until Riot was tagged and cut him off. Then it became a war of attrition, both sides exchanging the advantage. Eventually - a “Go Joe” from Joey OShea brings a nearfall. GoW start isolating the smaller Masshole, but Joey gets a tag and we see Riot and Tommy OMalley go at it. Riot lands a powerslam for a nearfall, then Clash hits a triple fisherman or another. Tommy fights back and gets a tag. Joey and Clash go back and forth, but the Massholes can’t mount any consistent offense. Riot is tagged in, and Joey’s running offense attempt is countered into a gorilla press. While still recovering, Joey walks right into a chokeslam for the pin.
Winners: Gears of War Rating: ***
Post Match: Massholes roll out of the ring and head to the back. While Gears of War are celebrating, suddenly the lights go out and Jay Zero and Matt Hadad, AAW’s Starboys make their way to the ring. A brawl breaks out as both teams go at it. Eventually security comes to break up the two teams without a clear winner. As they were escorted out, Zero and Hadad could be seen laughing and pointing at the Warrior Pro Logo before making a throat cutting gesture… Kevin Hunter vs Roy CarterRecap: Both men came into this match trying to make a name for themselves, Kevin Hunter did just that. The match started off with a lot of back and forth, with both guys asserting themselves on offense. Like most Kevin Hunter matches, eventually he tossed his opponent outside. Brawling ensued, before it got back into the ring. Hunter starts to assert himself, catching Carter in the corner, then going for a rare elbow from the top. Carter trying to get something going offensively but keeps getting cut off. Carter tries the flying arm bar but its countered with an avalanche slam. Hunter tries to follow up but Carter swarms him with strikes, then hits the kick to the face for a veeery close nearfall. Carter seems to be getting some momentum- a neck drop into another kick to the face but this time Hunter gets right back up and suplexes Roy out of his shows and out of the ring. Brawling on the outside before both men get back in the ring. Carter, with corner head butts into a back drop, seems to be taking control until Hunter comes back with a Lights Out powerbomb… for a very close nearfall. Carter fights back- another neck drop into ANOTHER kick to the face…for another nearfall. Both men look exhausted. Carter tries what looks like another flying arm bar that Hunter shrugs off into another Lights Out- this time Carter can’t get up.
Winner: Kevin Hunter Match Rating: **** Machine Gun Mayhem vs “Perfection” Jack GoldRecap: Could Jack Gold chop down another giant? Machine Gun seemed to be toying with Gold the entire match. Gold would get some offense in, and then Machin Gun would just tear him down. Gold hit a hurricanrana into a moonsault- MGM kicks out at one and closelines him. Gold dropkicks into a standing sunset flip- MGM immediately gets up and nails Gold with a fallaway slam. Gold locks in the Gold Lock and then tosses MGM outside to grab a breather. It doesn’t seem to help, Machine Gun comes right back with strikes. Finally, Gold seems to get a clear advantage, following up a machine gun knee strike with a flying bulldog into another standing sunset flip… but MGM kicks out at 2. Gold tries to press for more offense but MGM cuts him off, and starts to unload on Gold with strikes from the knees and brutal elbows on the ground. Offense is all MGM, who hits the Bone Crusher that’s only saved because of the ropes. Gold- going for broke goes for a running hurricanrana that MGM rolls out of the ring for, and gets back in in time to nail Gold with the double “Missile Kicks” for the pin.
Winner: Machine Gun Mayhem Rating: *** Post Match: Machine Gun rolls out of the ring and goes underneath pulling out something. He comes back and wraps ribbon around Gold’s unconscious head, then places a bow on top. He then grabs a microphone.
MGM: “Now. NOW. Jack Gold, NOW you are PERFECT!”
He then starts laughing hysterically before exiting the ring. Brick vs John LoganRecap: To say this match was hard hitting would be an understatement. Both men started out with a very small period of feeling each other out, before just unloading on each other. Both sides seemed to be trying to put it away early. And then a wild sequence occurred. Logan hit his jumping piledriver into a running dropkick for a 2 count. Brick got up and hit a huge chokeslam for a nearfall. Logan tossed Brick into the corner, and then hit a Logan’s Run DDT but couldn’t cover. Brick got up and hit ANOTHER chokeslam for ANOTHER nearfall. Logan- still dazed, counters a closeline into the sleeper drop, but cant hit the dropkick and instead runs right into a rolling chop into a bonzi drop for the pinfall.
Winner: Brick Rating: *** Heavyweight Championship: “Gentleman” Doc Wyatt vs “Lanky” Lefty McDanielRecap: This was pretty much worst case scenario for the McDaniel family. The match started off fairly evenly- with both men exchanging moves and trying to feel each other out. No one was really able to gain an advantage- every time either man would start to go for more offense it was countered. Eventually, Lanky would seemingly take control of the match- hitting a top rope turnbuckle drop and follow it up with a rainmaker into a running spear for a very close nearfall. The offense was now all Lanky, with Doc reeling. A stomach crusher would turn into a modified sharpshooter that Doc would barely get to the ropes for. Out of what seemed like desperation, Doc hits a dragon screw and goes for the figure four- but its right by the ropes. As Lanky is getting up though, Doc hits the Black Gold and CRITICAL’s Lanky Lefty.
Winner: “Gentleman” Doc Wyatt Rating: *** Post Match: Lanky is laying on the mat as medical tend to him. He seems to be clutching his shoulder. Doc celebrates in the ring, as KEVIN HUNTER comes out and stands on the ramp- pointing at Doc and motioning at the title belt. Doc points at him, and Hunters starts down the ramp before BRICK comes out and attacks him from behind, laying boots into him. Doc exits the ring and grabs a chair, and starts laying chair shots into the back of Hunter before spitting on him as both he and Brick celebrate at the top of the ramp as the show closes. Post Match Promo’s: Tank McDaniel No- we did not know the Starboys would show up tonight. This…invasion was something that happened without my knowledge and I can guarantee- there will be consequences.
I also do not have an update on Lefty. He hurt his shoulder, he will be evaluated next week. Doc Wyatt If Kevin Hunter wants to get his ass kicked, he should check with Lefty McDaniel and John Logan first. He might be winning matches against nobodies, but I am NOT a nobody. Congrats shitmeat- you have my attention now. Biggest mistake of your life.

*A day after what happened, The Starboyz (Maat Hadad and Jay Zero) are lying on some pool tables and lounging. They're both soaking in the sun and content with what they did. Zero begins to talk*
Zero: You know Maat, we were growing a bit bored with AAW.
Hadad: That's damn right Jay, we were dabbling in the under-card when we should've had a shot to become kings.
Zero: So to all of those pundits that said: we're nothing without Adrien, I laugh at you, and I laugh at the notion. Most people have forgotten the decades I've put in this business, I was the one who trained Adrien into the megastar he is. And now, these people won't forget tonight. Once the chips are down and the cards are stacked me and Maat are going to destroy and conquer Warrior Pro.
Hadad: And Mr. Lawton did tell us to have fun while he recovers...

The road to Nightmare starts this week, with Warrior Grounds #3, and the stakes are high. Brick and Kevin Hunter will face off in a grudge match pitting student against teacher, and the main event will determine who Hunter faces at Warrior Grounds #4 in a number one contender match for a shot at Doc Wyatt’s Heavyweight Championship. The loser however, will forfeit any title opportunities for the remainder of the calendar year.
Match Previews:
Roy Carter vs “Young Gun” Simmons Carter, fresh off his High Noon loss to Kevin Hunter, will look to get back on track against the promising rookie. Simmons has been one of the more impressive Training Grounds recruits working under Austin Baron- this could end up being more than just a filler show opener.
Brick vs Kevin Hunter This grudge has been brewing for a while. Hunter was trained by Brick for two years, and Hunter has always held the giant in the highest regard. He was oddly quite over Brick’s recent actions- but his attack on Hunter at the end of High Noon, interrupting Hunters attempt to challenge for the title, proved to be a breaking point. This match will no doubt be a hard hitting affair, and it would be safe to assume neither men will walk away unscathed.
John Logan vs Vic “The Technician” Baron A rematch to the kickoff match of the Golden Gate Tourney, these two longtime friends will face off with huge stakes. Winner gets Kevin Hunter in two weeks with a title shot on the line, loser bows out of the title picture for the rest of the year. Both men have been close to glory before, but neither have been able to take advantage of their opportunities. Logan, screwed out of his last title shot- will look to repeat his wins against both Vic and Hunter to gain another crack at the World Champion. For Vic, he will have to avenge two losses to get his first shot at the belt. Either way, this match guarantees to be a classic.
We will also hear from Gears of War, who are expected to respond to the Starboy’s attack at High Noon.
Promos up on WPW.com:
Roy CarterThis…is fucking bullshit. Another night facing these shitty rookies. Is this what Tank thinks if me? As a stepping stone for rookies? Use Roy, he’s got nothing better to do. Fine- you want me to show them the ropes? I’ll teach them. I’ll teach them the real important stuff. Like how it feels to get your arm broken. How it feels to have your head driven through the mat. How it feels to get the shit kicked out of you so bad you can’t remember the day of the week. Friday I got a whole lesson plan, so hope these rookies are ready for some notes. Kevin HunterLong time comin I guess. There’s no one on this planet Kevin Hunter owes more to than Brick. Brick was a mentor, man. He the only one I got any respect for in this business. When I was a rook, this dude showed me the ropes. Showed me what I needed to do to take care of business. He was family. Then you had to go and cheap shot me. Turn your back and disrespect me. We aint family no more. Now you jus another man I gotta beat to get to where I need to be. You a giant step on the latter to my goal- that sweet ass belt hangin around the little man hiding behind you. Ima crush you on Friday. Kevin Hunter is rampaging through everyone- and you in my way.
Somthin you need to know. You need to lissen up right now Brick. When you layin on the mat lookin up at the lights, I need you to remember. You did this Brick. This is on you. Brick and Doc Wyatt(Doc and Brick are standing in front of the camera, Doc facing it, Brick off to the side facing Doc)
Doc: So, another convoluted tournament to decide who gets to lose to me next eh? Who’s the lucky winner going to be? Vic Baron? The man trying so hard to live up to his family name, despite already being a colossal failure. What about John Logan? Yawn- reruns are boring when you already know what happens. Or will it be that punk ass Kevin Hunter? Let me tell you abo-
Brick: STOP (Brick puts a hand up in front of a bewildered Doc, then turns to face the camera)
Brick: Kev Hunter been talkin a lotta trash. You always did like talkin trash. How bout we both stop talkin so much. How bout we settle this inna ring- jus you an me. Nobody else. You think you ready to take on Brick? Less see. You still smell like a rook to me. John LoganYou know what? I’d like to think I work best when my back is against the wall. When all the chips are down, and the odds are stacked against me. I had my shot at Doc and failed. I had my shot at Brick, and I failed. Maybe I was screwed a little along the way, but maybe I just didn’t grasp opportunity when it was presented to me. This Friday is my second chance. In a lot of ways, it’s my last chance. My last chance to prove to myself, and to everyone watching that I am the wrestler that I claim to be. The BEST. I wish it didn’t have to be Vic. We go way back, and out stories are the same. But Friday is not about friendships, and it’s not about stories. It is about opportunity. This time, I will not fail. Vic BaronJohn Logan. John. Logan. This seems oddly fitting no? We’ve been friends a long time John. We started out in this business together. Shared a road together. Tasted victory and bathed in defeat together. Seems fitting that you and I go to battle again for a chance at gold. But if you think you’re getting the same guy that you beat at the Golden Gate Tourney- you’re wrong. If you think you’re getting the same guy that couldn’t put Lanky Lefty away last month- you’re wrong. If you think Imma be the stepping stone for your rematch with Doc Wyatt- you friend, are dead wrong. They call me the technician because I am the best technical wrestler alive. And you don’t become that without adapting, learning from mistakes. My pops runs the wrestling school for Warrior Pro. On Friday, Imma teach you a lesson in how to lose gracefully. It aint your time John. And it aint Kevin Hunter’s either. Baron’s are champions- Friday I start earning my stripes.

Another exciting Warrior Grounds is in the books, and the results paint a clearer picture for the next big event, NIGHTMARE. We saw answers to some of our lingering questions, and new questions to be answered in the coming weeks. As always, see below for full results, recaps, and promos from the show. Roy Carter vs "Young Gun" SimmonsRecap: This was a fight Roy Carter was not expecting. Simmons, the young rookie looked impressive from the jump, cutting off Carter’s attacks and keeping the more experienced wrestler off balance. Frustrated, Carter took Simmons to the mat and used MMA ground and pound elbows to bust the Young Gun open. Simmons stayed patient and worked his way out of the mount, and even countered out again when Carter tried to go back. The match then worked back and forth, neither side gaining an advantage till Simmons hit a running shoulder block then tossed Carter out of the ring. Simmons followed up with a sledgehammer from the apron, before a whirlwind of strikes from Carter seemed to change momentum- only for Simmons to counter an irish whip back in the ring and take the match to the ground. Tons of offense from the rookie now, looking like a build up to an upset, until Carter counters with a neck crusher into a kick to the face… for a near fall. Simmons powers back again, with suplexes and whips off the ropes- controlling the pace of the match. Carter goes for a desperation armbar but Simmons gets to the ropes. Carter can’t seem to turn the tide, as Simmons again seems to take over, finishing up with a slingblade- but the pace of the match seems to be wearing on him and he looks gassed. As Carter starts a comeback, Simmons cuts him off and gets a near fall on a rollup. Simmons looks exhausted, and that gives Carter the opening he needs for another neck crusher and a running kick for the pin.
Winner: Roy Carter Match Rating: *** Post Match: Carter continues the beating after the bell, locking in an armbar and refusing to let go before officials rush down to break it up. Austin Baron, head trainer of the Young Guns, comes out as well and the two shout at each other as Carter walks to the back… Gears of War walk down to the ring. Riot snarls at the crowd while Bobby Clash grabbing a microphone…Clash: This probably a case of classic misunderstanding. These AAW punks, fresh off of an adrenaline rush of invading this promotion, ran down and picked a fight with the first two men they saw. Well I have news for you Starboys. You fucked up. You fucked up real good. You didn’t pick a fight, you started a goddamn war. Not with Warrior Pro, because Riot and I don’t care about that. You started a war with the two men you don’t start a war with. You want a piece of us? October 26th. Gears of War vs Staryboys. Tag Team Light Tube Deathmatch. We’re gonna put you two in the ground.
Riot grabs the mic
Riot: MAAT HADAD. I CANNOT WAIT THAT LONG. OCTOBER 12- BE HERE. LETS MAKE EACH OTHER BLEED…
Riot drops the mic and both men exit the ring Brick vs Kevin HunterRecap: This may have been the hardest hitting, most emotional match in the young history of Warrior Pro Wrestling. Both men came out not to have a wrestling match, but a full our brawl. Hard strikes, heavy body tossing, and no pins. Both men were out to hurt each other from the jump, and it seems inevitable that someone wasn’t going to get up from the match. Brick was busted open early, and the two just took turns wailing on each other. Eventually Kevin Hunter would nail his Lights Out powerbomb, only for Brick to shrug it off as if it was an arm drag. More back and forth before Brick would shockingly lift the near 300 pound Hunter up for a Tourturerack… but the weight seemed to be too much and he had to eventually let go. More brutality, but both men look to be gassing. Hunter repeatedly looks to set up for the spear, but seemed too tired to execute. More back and forth- both men looking to just inflict damage, before Hunter finally nails the spear…for a two count. Hunter starts hitting Brick with everything he has, the big man just takes it and keeps pounding forward. German suplex. Fallaway slam. Another spear. Nothing keeps him down, and Hunter starts to look desperate and exhausted. As a last ditch effort, with his remaining strength, Hunter lifts up the 400 pound giant and puts him in his own torture rack and refuses to let go- grabbing the victory when Brick passes out.
Winner: Kevin Hunter Match Rating: **** Post Match: Both men collapse from exhaustion. A group of medical personnel come out and help assist both men to the back. John Logan vs Vic"The Technician" BaronRecap: Everything was on the line in this one. Keeping the dream alive for a shot at the World title. Keeping open the chance for a future shot. Holding a family legacy. In contrast to the previous match, this one started off much more technical, both men feeling each other out and looking for an opportunity to take advantage of. Neither seemed able to find that opening, as the match went back and forth. A suplex by Baron into a ground hold, Logan would break and set up a backdrop into a ground hold of his own. They would continue to trade moves until a delayed suplex by Baron would lead into a second rope suplex that Logan would counter into a powerbomb… for a very close near fall. Back in the middle Baron hits another delayed brainbuster, and rolls into a backslide… that gets a very close near fall of his own. Pace picking up now, both men smelling blood. Baron hits the Family Business (Olympic slam) but Logan again kicks out. Baron goes to toss Logan into the ropes but he counters and hits the Sky High… for another near fall. Baron looks dazed, and Logan takes advantage, throwing him into the ropes- hitting another Sky High, this time for the pin.
Winner: John Logan Match Rating: **** After the match, Machine Gun Mayhem enters the ring carrying a baseball bat…Machine Gun walks up to Logan and immediately nails him with the bat to the ribs, then tosses him outside in a heap. He turns and looks at Vic, still unable to move from the match points at him, then gets down and whispers into his ear before exiting the ring. There were no interviews granted post show, but reporters were notified that there would be an official press conference for NIGHTMARE held next week, with the champion and both potential challengers…

In the press room is Roger Craig, head of PR for Warrior Pro, flanked on one side by World Champion Doc Wyatt and his associate Brick, and on the other side the two potential challengers for the belt- John Logan and Kevin Hunter.
Craig: Welcome to the official NIGHTMARE 2018 event press conference presented by Warrior Pro Wresting. NIGHTMARE will air LIVE ON TWITCH Friday October 26th. I am filling in for Tank McDaniel, who is currently out of the country on official business. We have a few announcements to make before we open the floor for questions. First off, next Friday, October 12th will be the date for Warrior Grounds #4. The card for that event will be: Roy Carter vs “Young Gun” Castillo Riot vs AAW’s Jay Zero John Logan vs Kevin Hunter- winner to receive a title shot at NIGHTMARE.Speaking of AAW- we have received word that the Starboys have accepted the challenge from Gears of War, and will compete in a tag team light tube deathmatch at NIGHTMARE. Machine Gun Mayhem has…uh… sent a challenge via… uh Doc: (leans over Craig’s shoulder) What the fuck… is that written in blood? Craig: I’m uhh… not sure. Machine Gun Mayhem has challenged Vic Baron to a match at NIGHTMARE. I’ve been informed that Tank will book the match if Vic accepts. The final card for NIGHTMARE will be announced in the coming weeks. Questions for our champion and his potential challengers? REPORTER: Doc, any preference on who you want your opponent to be? Doc: None. To be honest, neither of these two hacks are in my league anyways. Hunter should have stuck to football. I’ve already beaten Logan. Hopefully Tank’s “business trip” is finding me a real opponent and not blowing this companies money on a hookers and blow binge. REPORTER: Kevin- the last time you faced John Logan you lost, what’s different this time? Hunter: This ain’t the same Kevin Hunter. Honestly I aint even sure this IS Kevin Hunter. Feels like a new man, a stronger man. Kevin Hunter was the former football player trying to learn pro wrestling. This man, the one talkin to you? He different. He a crazy rampaging lunatic. He been stewin in that loss to John Logan. Getting angry. Takin it out on everyone in the ring- hopin and praying that he’d get another shot. I aint sure that Kevin Hunter can beat John Logan. But this new guy? Shit man, the whole world in trouble now. Doc: I am seriously lost. How many dudes are in that head of yours? At this point it sounds like a handicap match. Hunter: Oh I promise you- you gonna be handicapped come October 26th. Logan: Agreed- but you will need a ticket to see it happen Kev. (Logan and Hunter exchange glares) REPORTER: John- how do you feel heading into your match that will give you a second shot at the heavyweight belt? Logan: Pissed off honestly. Pissed off that I put myself in this situation, by not winning the belt when I had my chance. But I’m getting another shot, and this is all familiar. It was only a few months ago that I needed to beat a red hot Kevin Hunter for a shot at Doc Wyatt for the World Title. He couldn’t beat me then, and he can’t beat me now. He can call himself anything he wants, the reality is he isn’t ready to beat me. This is my time. Doc Wyatt beat me, yes. But he obviously still fears me. He made sure I didn’t face him at High Noon. He knows I can beat him. He knows I WILL beat him. So yeah, I’m pissed that I made this whole journey hard on myself. But its fine, I have these two guys to take out my anger on. Doc: I dropped you once. I’ll fucking drop you again. Run your mouth all you want Logan, the fact is you aren’t as good as you think you are. So have your match with Hunter. If he doesn’t beat you I will. Then you can just go away, stop bothering me and boring all these people. (Logan flips the table- but before he can get at Doc, Brick steps in front. Logan points at Brick and yells something at him as he stares back stone faced. Both Doc and Brick walk off, and as Logan turns around he walks straight into Kevin Hunter. The two men face off nose to nose before cautiously walking away, ending the press conference.)
After the press conference, a few wrestlers posted comments on WPW.com: Roy CarterWhat the fucking hell. Was beating the crap out of the last rookie not good enough? Austin Baron- your students suck. If you think its fun watching me hurt all of them then by all means keep feeding them to me. Expect your class to be one student short next week. Vic BaronDon’t think those words you whispered in my ear last week were lost on me Machine Gun. I got no idea what you want from me. But you know what? Fuck it. After losing to John Logan, losing my championship aspirations, I got nothing to lose. Let’s go, you and me at NIGHTMARE. Let’s tear each other apart.

We are entering the final stretch, and the last house show before NIGHTMARE on October 26th is happening this week. Warrior Grounds #4 will determine who will face Doc Wyatt for the World Title, we get a preview of an inter-promotional tag match, and Roy Carter continues his run of Young Gun matches. A full breakdown of the card: Roy Carter vs “Young Gun” CastilloCarter has been on a roll of late, attacking Young Gun after Young Gun in frustration over his prelim booking. This week it's Castillo, the top Young Gun currently in Training Grounds, who will get a shot at the former MMA fighter. Roy has promised to injure the rookie, but can this Young Gun pull off an upset? Riot vs Jay Zero (AAW)A preview to Gears of War vs The Starboys. Both men will have their partners at ringside, and there are rumblings that we might see an appearance from Adrian Lawton, healthy and fresh off his title defense in AAW. Expect fireworks in this one. #1 Contender Match for the Warrior Pro World Heavyweight TitleJohn Logan vs Kevin HunterA rematch of their Golden Gate Tournament finals match. Hunter has been on a tear as of late, winning his last three matches including a decisive victory over his former mentor, Brick at WG# 3. Can he continue his winning ways and unseat one of only 2 men that have managed to beat the rising star? Or will Logan finally get the rematch he so desperately wants with the reigning champ? Also scheduled to be in attendance: Machine Gun Mayhem, Doc Wyatt, and more! This show will set the stage for Warrior Pro’s next big event, NIGHTMARE- so check back here Friday Oct. 12th for full matches, recaps, and promos. Promos up on WPW.com: John LoganIt’s really simple. Friday I have one man standing between me and my goal- getting another crack at the world title. Kevin Hunter is not stopping me from achieving that goal. He couldn’t do it back in August, and he won’t do it now. You know they always tell you not to look ahead, to focus on what’s in front of you. But my hatred for Doc Wyatt runs too deep. So I’m not looking past Kevin Hunter- I’m looking through him. At Warrior Grounds, its I’m going to show Hunter exactly what it takes to earn a championship fight, and maybe one day he’ll figure out how to get there. But that day isn’t coming this week. Kevin HunterJohn Logan keeps talkin about how he gonna to beat Kevin Hunter. How he already beat Kevin Hunter. How Kevin Hunter aint ready for a championship match. Well HE AINT FIGHTIN KEVIN HUNTER. This man, right here? He aint Kevin Hunter. I keep tellin you John- Kevin Hunter aint gonna be in that ring with you on Friday. The man you fightin? He RAMPAGE. Rampage aint ever lost a match. Rampage aint afraid of John Logan. Rampage gonna end you- right in the middle of the ring- and take whats his. Whats his is a shot at Doc Wyatt for the World Heavyweight Title. You preppin for the wrong man John Logan, and that gonna cost you everything. On Friday, I’m gonna take away EVERYTHING.

The go home show before NIGHTMARE proved to be an eventful one- including the number one contender for Doc Wyatt’s belt, and another chapter in the AAW invasion of Warrior Pro. There was plenty of action, both inside and outside of the ring, and the buildup should make the October 26th show a memorable one. Scroll down for all the matches, recaps, and promo’s that took place for Warrior Grounds #4. Before the first match kicked off, Machine Gun Mayhem came out and entered the ring, taking a mic...”Vic Baron. I don’t think you understand my challenge. My challenge is for more than a match. I am not a wrestler- at least not in the sense you take me as. I am a SAVIOR. I want to be YOUR SAVIOR. You are lost my friend. You lack direction. You lack purpose. I want to give that to you. At NIGHTMARE, I’m going to give you a lesson. I’m going to teach you. I’m going to teach all of you. Jack Gold- ask Jack Gold. He gets it now. Soon, everyone will understand me. Vic- October 26th will be your AWAKENING…
(Machine Gun drops the mic and walks out of the arena) Roy Carter vs “Young Gun” CastilloRecap: Roy Carter promised to run through another Young Gun. Castillo had other thoughts. Carter, who has been frustrated with his prelim booking of late, has been taking it out on the rookies of Warrior Pro- but this match seemed… more even. Carter came out more cautious with the young big man, choosing to attempt to wear him down with holds and distance strikes. In fact it was Castillo who seemed to be the aggressor, running the ropes and repeatedly putting Carter on his back. As the match wore on it became apparent that Castillo had a fighting chance, something even Roy Carter seemed to realize. From there Carter moved to a new strategy, working his MMA ground game to keep the big man off balance. But the advantage was short lived, as Castillo cut him off and tossed Carter outside. Brawling ensued, and once back in the ring Roy Carter walked right into a modified Rock Bottom….for a very close near fall. That seemed to wake up Carter- who looked desperate, picking up the pace and throwing everything at the rookie. Carter landed a top rope foot stomp, then slapped on an arm breaker that Castillo….barely got to the ropes for. Castillo fought back, but when setting up for another modified Rock Bottom walked right into a Game Over piledriver for the pinfall.
Winner: Roy Carter Match Rating: *** After the match…Carter continues to lay into the rookie with boots, before grabbing a chair and setting up Castillo for a Game Over piledriver on it…. before Austin Baron races in for the save, chasing Carter out of the ring. Austin then grabs a mic…
Austin: Son- you been runnin yer mouth and beatin down a bunch of rooks fer too long. If yer lookin for a fight, then son you damn well found it. Friday, October 26th, I’m gonna give you a beatin so bad yer gonna have the taste of my boots in yer mouth for a week after its over. Yer days direspectin my school, and my students is OVER.
Carter: You want a fight old man? That is fucking fine with me. I’m sick of this shit. I’ll drag your broken body and put it in front of Tank. Show him who he’s been putting in prelim nothing matches. You just signed your own death warrant. Riot vs Jay ZeroRecap: This match- a preview of the cross promotional tag team match at NIGHTMARE- showed the animosity these two teams have in just a short amount of time. Riot rag dolled Jay Zero early, showing off his huge size advantage and limiting the offense of his more agile foe. Zero attempted to chip away at that size by using his speed advantage- but it seemed every time he began to build any kind of momentum, Riot was there to slam him back onto the mat. At one point Zero landed a desperation cutter… that Riot no sold before powerslamming Zero for a two count. However the cutter was effective in exposing Riots stamina, and as the match wore on it was clear who was in better shape. Zero was able to toss the big man outside, then hit an impressive dive. Back into the ring the pace picks up, and a flash pin from Zero nearly catches Riot off guard. Riot looks gassed and Zero takes advantage with a flurry of offense. Just when it looks like Zero might be setting up Riot for the finish, Riot counters and nails the Dark Alley for the pinfall.
Winner: Riot Match: *** After the match a man jumps the guard rail from the crowd and attacks Bobby Clash with a chair, before tossing him into the barricade. That man is none other than AAW Champion Adrian Lawton. Before Riot knows whats going on, The Starboys and Lawton have surrounded him in the ring….
All three men put the boots to Riot, and despite his best efforts to fight them off, the numbers are too great, and double and triple team moves leave him on his back. Lawton could be heard yelling at an unconscious Riot- “Is this the best Warrior Pro has to offer??? IS THIS THE BEST???” before celebrating as they escaped through the crowd before security could get to them. #1 Contender for World Heavyweight ChampionshipKevin “Rampage” Hunter vs John LoganRecap: This match appeared to be built around the question- who could successfully land their running finisher? Logan, who employees one of, if not the most deadly dropkick in the business, and Hunter’s devastating spear- a move he only recently started using over the last couple of weeks. The contest started off fast from the jump, neither man bothering to go through a feeling out process. Instead they seemed to pick right up from their last match back in August. No one seemed able to take full control over the match, Hunter- with an obvious size and strength advantage- and Logan, with his smarts and experience, kept the match going back and forth. Logan ran right into a powerbomb, then side stepped the follow up lariat, hitting a sleeper drop into a lariat of his own. But just when it seemed like he might be taking control, Hunter reversed a piledriver into a Lights Out powerbomb… for a near fall. Stunned but sensing the urgency of the situation, Logan turns it on, overwhelming Hunter with pace and offense, attempting to tire the bigger man. Logan hits his modified neck drop (a new move for him), but can’t connect on the follow up dropkick. Logan repeats the neck drop, this time landing the dropkick, only Hunter no sells the move, instead reciprocating an modified avalanche slam. Hunter tries to mount a comeback, but instead walks into a Logans Run DDT… for a near fall. Logan follows it up with a Cannonball senton but Hunter gets to the ropes. Logan picks him up, and looks to put him against the ropes for the Sky High finisher, but gets countered and Hunter hits another powerbomb… and then a spear for the pinfall.
Winner: Kevin “Rampage” Hunter Rating: **** After the match, Doc Wyatt and Brick walked down to the ring…Doc enters the ring and has a stare down with Hunter and they both seem to be exchanging words. Just then Hunter realizes Brick is standing right behind him, but before any thoughts of a double team can come to fruition, John Logan gets up and inserts himself as an alley to Hunter. Both sides prep for a fight before Doc laughs it off and calls for both he and Brick to exit the ring. Once they exit, Logan and Hunter shake hands, and Logan raises Hunters arm as the show goes off the air. There were no post show interviews, but Tank McDaniel released a statement that he would have a major announcement next week, that would have impacts to the upcoming NIGHTMARE show…

A major announcement was made yesterday in Mexico City. In a joint press conference, Warrior Pro Wrestling owner Tank McDaniel and Lucha POWER owner “El Macho” Hector Torres Sr. announced a joint partnership that will allow the two companies to co-promote as well as talent share. Both men had some interesting things to say during the press conference. From Tank: From El Macho (translated from Spanish): Lucha Power has a long history as a promotion. Based in Mexico City and founded in the late 1970’s, the promotion rose to be one of the most popular lucha companies in the country in the mid 80’s- largely due to their 2 top stars, Blue Puma and El Macho, as well as an influx of American talent such as Tank McDaniel and Wrecking Ball Allen. Unfortunately, in the early 2000’s, bad business deals and a lack of new talent saw the company slide to near bankruptcy. In 2017, El Macho bought the promotion outright and has refocused the company around young, up and coming stars. The recent retirement of Red Demon II due to neck issues has resulted in the World Title being vacated. A tournament for a new champion is expected to be scheduled soon… In other news- the card for NIGHTMARE is now officially set. The show will be broadcast LIVE on Twitch at 4pm PT.
The final card:

We are a just a few days away from the most stacked Warrior Pro Wrestling event in the young promotions history. Two cross promotional matches. A bitter grudge match. An epic championship clash. For some, Friday night will be a dream come true. For others, it will be an epic NIGHTMARE.
The show will be broadcast LIVE on Twitch, kicking off around 4pm PT. A full breakdown of the card:
Warrior Pro & Lucha POWER Cross Promotional Tag Team Match Tank McDaniel and John Logan vs El Macho and Pantero Negro Jr A first peak at the recent joint business deal between the two promotions. El Macho is a legend of Mexico’s past, and Pantero has established himself as the present. They team up against Warrior Pro owner Tank, and John Logan- looking to shake off his recent PPV losses and build momentum for another crack at the World Title.
Roy Carter vs Austin Baron Tired of his wrestling school students getting abused, the legend Austin Baron is stepping into the ring with Roy Carter in hopes of teaching him a lesson of his own. Carter is out looking to prove that he should be seen less as a prelim guy and more the rising star that once took current champ Doc Wyatt to the limit. This match could be a dark horse MOTN.
Machine Gun Mayhem vs Vic “The Technician” Baron Per usual, no one understands Machine Gun’s motives, and why he chooses who to terrorize. But this match may push the madman to a different place. Despite Baron’s recent struggles, he is no slouch in the ring and could prove to foil Machine Gun’s plans (whatever those may be). What happens if Vic pulls out the victory? And will we learn what was whispered to Vic three weeks ago?
Warrior Pro & AAW Cross Promotional Tag Team Match Starboys vs Gears of War This one has been brewing since the AAW boys stormed the ring at HIGH NOON last month. Adding to the intrigue is the inclusion of AAW champ Adrian Lawton, making his presence felt and rumored to be in the corner of the Starboy’s during the match. Can the Gears of War overcome the odds? Or will another Warrior Pro wrestler even the odds?
World Heavyweight Title Match: “Gentleman” Doc Wyatt (c) vs Kevin “Rampage” Hunter There isn’t a hotter wrestler around right now than Kevin “Rampage” Hunter, and Friday could be his time to grab this promotion by the horns and run with it. He’ll have his hands full with the reigning champ though, as the one thing Doc Wyatt has proved above all else is resiliency and self-preservation. Don’t overlook his business partner either, Brick, who was a onetime mentor to Hunter and has taken an exclusive interest in making sure Doc stays on top. This will be a war, and will shape the direction of the company for the rest of the year…
Promo Time...
Roy CarterAustin Baron… your old ass is made a big mistake running your mouth about shit you can’t back up. This isn’t fucking 1998. You are not a world fucking champ. You are a has-been that seems to specialize in teaching kids how to lose. So make sure your students are near a monitor in the back. Make sure they have pen and paper out, and make sure they take notes. We’re going to school on Friday. Arm Breaking 101. Neck Breaking 201. And for your advanced students, “The study of how washed up wrestlers handle getting mauled by present day superstars”. Don’t be late Baron, class starts promptly when the bell rings. Austin BaronRoy Carter has been runnin his mouth all month. WAH- I don’t like fighting rookies. WAH- nobody respects me. WAH. WAH. WAH. Son I’ll give you some free advice. Stop openin yer mouth if all yer gonna do is cry. If you wanted an ass whoopin, all you had to do was ask me like a grown ass man. Say, “Mr. Baron sir- can you please whoop my ass because I’m a talentless piece of trash that don’t know how to beat anyone that’s not a rookie.” I woulda gladly obliged. But no- you had to go and piss me off by beating on my students. Ya wanted my attention? Well now you have it. But Roy Carter- this Friday, at NIGHTMARE, you are gonna learn that the LAST thing you want- is my attention. Gears of WarBobby Clash: Oh so those Staryboys are bringing a friend? They have fuckin Lawton with them now? Bring him. Bring Lawton, and bring the rest of AAW with you on Frida. Me en Riot don’t care. Me en Riot don’t back down from anyone, anything, at any time. We don’t need backup. We don’t need anyone. Riot- you care about Adrian Lawton?
Riot: (grunts)
Clash: What are we gonna do to the Staryboys this Friday?
Riot: SMASH.
Clash: If Lawton interferes, what are we gonna do to him?
Riot: SMASH.
Clash: What’s gonna happen to the Starboys come Friday?
Riot: THEY’RE GONNA BLEED. Also, random note for those of you paying super close attention…The Starboys/GoW match was originally booked as a hardcore match- but the update and move to 2.0 messed with that. There was potentially still a way to do it but long story short, it was easier for me to just make it a normal tag for now. I didn’t have a good story line reason to switch it so I just dropped it. Call it, the Vince Maneuver.

Just a reminder, if you plan to do one thing today, it should probably be play Red Dead Redemption 2. But if you do two things today, the second should definitely be Warrior Pro: NIGHTMARE. Show kicks off at 4pm PT with 1-2 prelim matches before we get to the main card. Final Promos: Doc Wyatt This is the same story. Here comes the fresh challenger, the unbeatable force that will finally take down the champ. This was always borrowed time. The REAL champ is on the other side of that ring, Doc Wyatt was just a placeholder. Except it isn’t true. You are looking at the real champion. You are looking at the ONLY champion this company has ever had. Will ever need. Rampage can run his mouth all he wants, can cry about his “friend” turning on him all he wants. “Boo hoo my friend doesn’t want to be my friend anymore. Waaaaaaaaa.” You are a child Hunter. And tonight, I’m going to show the world you don’t belong in my ring, you don’t deserve my belt, and you can’t handle my greatness. “Rampage” Hunter This the big moment. This were dreams are made. My dreams. Kevin Hunter, Rampage Hunter, been dreaming about this for a long time. This put up or shut up time. Doc Wyatt can keep runnin his mouth. But he scared. And he should be scared. Rampage aint no joke. He out for blood. Ask Vic Baron. Ask John Logan. Ask your boy Brick. Ask him if Rampage is another pretender, another stepping stone. Nah man, I’m here for that belt. It’s mine. You just keepin it clean for me. Tonight we go to war, and tonight we see a new era. Rampage Era.

Nightmare was a wild show, and worked not only as a cross promotional showcase but as a window into whats to come for the remainder of the year... The full show can be seen in its entirety in the previous post. Scroll down for individual match videos, recaps, and post-match action… Pre-Show Match: Hexagon Jr. (Lucha POWER) vs Rip ReedRecap: Fast paced and all action right from the jump. Hexagon, one of the top wrestlers in Lucha POWER and all of Mexico put on a showcase for the fans while Rip Reed showed why the Reed Brothers are more than just a tag team. Rip was very impressive early on, matching Hexagon move for move and even gaining close pinfalls that seemed to take the former Lucha POWER champ off guard. Hexagon would shift momentum with a suplex from the middle rope into a moonsault for a close two count. Rip would fight back and hit his Death From Above senton for… another close 2 count. Both men smell blood, and Rip seemed to be setting up Hexagon for a top rope hurricanrana before seeing it countered into a top rope reverse rollup for the pin.
Winner: Hexagon Jr. Rating: *** Warrior Pro & Lucha POWER Cross Promotional Tag Team Match Tank McDaniel and John Logan vs El Macho and Pantero Negro JrRecap: A showcase of two promotions, this was also a showcase of two legends of the sport. Both El Macho and Tank McDaniel looked good at the start, showing of signature moves and looking spry for their age. Their partners also looked impressive, carrying the bulk of the action. Logan seemed to have the match in hand when he countered a running move from El Macho into a Sky High for a close 2 count. El Macho managed a tag but Logan counters a double team and nails Pantero Negro with a Logans Run DDT for a….very close near fall. Pantero desperately tags out, and Logan is on fire, nailing a Cannonball senton on El Macho followed by a dropkick for…another painfully close near fall. Macho tries a comeback but gets cut off and Logan goes for another Cannonball dropkick combination but El Macho avoids the kick and gets to his corner for the hot tag to Pantero- who runs wild. Logan seems to be a bit gassed and eventually makes the tag to Tank, who doesn’t fair much better. Pantero overwhelms him with his speed, but Tank finds a small opening and nails his patented Tank Bomber lariat. But before he can go for a pin, El Macho distracts him, allowing Pantero to set up and hit the Dark Fenix Splash- KO-ing Tank in the process.
Winner: Team Lucha POWER Rating: **** After the match…Medical personnel immediately tended to Tank as El Macho and Logan hovered over him concerned. Pantero Negro Jr. seemed unconcerned and celebrated the victory before heading to the back alone as Logan and El Macho helped attend to Tank. Roy Carter vs Austin BaronRecap: Easily the match of the night. This was a straight up fight, with the early part of the match focused on both men pounding on each other- neither being able to secure a clear advantage. Roy worked take downs to brawl on the ground, Austin using strikes to set up slams and grounded kicks. Austin would finally hit a dragon screw into his famous cross face but Roy would find the ropes. The action would get back to the middle and that’s where Austin would finally give Roy the opening he would need to hit the Game Over piledriver… for a near fall. Austin would recover, counter a strike from Carter and hit a stunner….for a near fall of his own. The pace begins to quicken, Roy goes for another Game Over but gets countered. He tries for ground and pound but is countered. Seemingly frustrated he rains strikes down on Austin, and follows up with a running kick for the pinfall but Austin has the ropes. Action goes back to the middle of the ring, and Austin is trying to mount a comeback but eats a vicious knee, giving Carter an opening to hit another Game Over… for another near fall- the legend just wont stay down. Roy hits a top rope foot stomp. Then a shoulder breaker into a European uppercut. Austin just keeps coming- he looks in visible pain but still mounts a comeback- tossing Carter outside. Austin starts to brawl but Carter hits his flying armbreaker and holds on until right before the 10 count. Both men back inside- Austin looks spent, he lazily attempts another stunner but Carter turns it into a third Game Over… for the pin fall.
Winner: Roy Carter Rating: **** Machine Gun Mayhem vs Vic “The Technician” BaronRecap: Vic Baron, who has been suffering through one of the toughest stretches of his career- came out for this bout aggressive and confident. The mind games Machine Gun has played seemed to have no effect, and the match took a surprising start, with Vic dictating the pace early. Machine Gun, used to punishing opponents early, looked visibly frustrated as Vic seemed to be able to trade him move for move. Vic, forever the tactician, seemed to feed of the frustration, using it to his advantage to poke at openings. A delayed brainbuster into an arm trap suplex got a very near fall. That seemed to put Machine Gun into a blind rage, but that just seemed to open up more holes for Vic to expose. Vic seemed in total control… until Machine Gun dropped him on his head, leading to a Bone Crusher jackhammer… that Baron barely was able to grab the ropes for. Machine Gun, distracted by the lack of pin count, got dumped outside and Vic followed up with a rare dive. Both men brawling now, sensing the urgency. Machine Gun suplexes Baron into the ropes. Vic applies the Killa Crossface but Machine Gun gets to the ropes. More back and forth until- in the middle of the ring- Vic locks in the crossface deeeep and Machine Gun passes out.
Winner: Vic Baron Rating: **** After the match…
Celebrating, Vic kneels down and whispers something into Machine Guns ear, harking back to their initial confrontation. Upon hearing this Machine Gun wakes up screaming NOOOOOOOOOOOO. And leaves the ring through the crowd, assaulting security all the way out. Warrior Pro & AAW Cross Promotional Tag Team MatchStarboys vs Gears of War (video includes post match)Recap: This match seemed to follow the same pattern as the singles match at Warrior Grounds- Riot is a massive human being that runs through everyone and everything. He and Bobby Clash took turns wailing on poor Jay Zero, isolating him from his team and exacting punishment. Then Hadad got rolling. It seemed GoW did not have any answer for the AAW veteran, as he took turns overpowering the smaller Clash and running circles around the bigger Riot. Riot would eventually make a comeback, throwing Hamid around with slams. But Hadad was a man possessed, and countered with a double arm DDT into a moonsault for a close pin fall. A fresh tag to Bobby Clash seemed to turn the tide again, with the smaller GoW running wild and looking like the fresher wrestler- hitting the triple fisherman… but the run gassed him and he was too tired to cover. Hadad seemed to get a second wind as Clash walked into back to back DDTs before getting nailed with a moonsault. Desperately Clash made the tag back to Riot… who immediately ran wild. Both men slugging it out in the middle of the ring before Hadad lands the Billionaire Bomb for the impressive win.
Winner: The Starboys Rating: *** After the match…
As The Starboys celebrate and start to leave, Lawton grabs a mic and says that this promotion is weak, and nobody is on his level. They came to prove one thing, this promotion is second rate. Just then John Logan comes out and a brawl ensues, with both men exchanging blows before security eventually breaks them up. World Heavyweight Title Match: “Gentleman” Doc Wyatt (c) vs Kevin “Rampage” HunterRecap: Rampage came out aggressive to start it off, attempting to use his size and power advantage to seemingly end this match early. But the veteran champ must have studied what happened in the Logan fight. He picked his spots, kept Hunter off balance and frustrated, and didn’t open himself up for anything major. The strategy seemed to work, with Hunter slowing down as fatigue set in, and he became more and more visibly frustrated. Soon enough Doc seemed to be completely dictating the match, picking off Hunter as he aimlessly flailed as a response. Even as the match spilled outside Doc seemed to have the edge, tossing Rampage into the barricade. As the action moved back into the ring Rampage- perhaps out of desperation, landed a huge slam on Doc, disorienting him enough for Hunter to land the Lights OUT powerbomb….for a very close near fall. That seemed to be all Hunter could muster- Doc countered a whip into a striking kick to the face, leading to a figure four that Hunter barely got to the ropes for. Doc in firm control until again, out of desperation, Hunter reversed into a german suplex- into a torturerack- the same move that ended his match with Brick. But Doc held on without submitting, and Rampage eventually had to let go out of exhaustion. Now the action is picking up, both men going back and forth, until Doc sneaks in a wicked low blow….for a near fall. Doc starts working the leg, trying to set up for the figure 4, when Rampage hits the back breaker, into a lariat, but misses the spear… Rampage seems to find a reserve and he finally mounts his own offense, staggering Doc. Rampage has him set up for the spear- except Doc counters into a superman punch for the pin fall.
Winner and STILL CHAMP: Doc Wyatt Rating: *** After the event, reporters caught up with a few of the wrestlers… Doc Wyatt Once again I proved that I am the best wrestler in this company. Is there anyone else? Do I need to move on to a place that can actually challenge me? Who’s left? Tank- if you aren’t dead, stop booking your own old ass and find me a worthy opponent before I take your bullshit belt, put it in the trash and go to a real wrestling company. Roy Carter Looks like I challenged the wrong Baron. Vic- your dad sucks at wrestling, his students suck at wrestling. Did he teach his kid anything different? I want to find out. Fight me. I want to be known as the guy that put a whole wrestling family in the hospital. John Logan This AAW thing is getting dumb. Lawton, you want to run your mouth? You want to come into a company and trash the talent? Step into the ring with me. I want to see first-hand what AAW is all about. I’ll put you right back onto the injured list you bum. Tank McDaniel (Tank was taken directly to the hospital, where xrays revealed 2 broken ribs and a punctured lung. Surgery was being scheduled, with no recovery time available at this time).

At a recent Warrior Pro Wrestling autograph session, someone made the mistake of putting Rampage Hunter and Doc Wyatt next to each other. A fan caught the following exchange on his cellphone and uploaded… (Both men are sitting at desks signing autographs yelling at each other. Brick is sitting next to Doc, arms folded staring emotionless at the crowd.)
Hunter: Aint no way you could beat Rampage again. Aint no way. That there was a fluke. A once in a million fluke. You nothin. You NOTHIN.
Doc: Keep running that mouth of yours, it’s certainly better than your wrestling.
Hunter: Gimme my rematch!
Doc: What? No. I don’t see any reason to do that. I beat you- you lost. I’m moving on.
Hunter: Can’t move on- I ain’t gonna let you. You lucked out, that match goes my way 99 times out of 100.
Doc: Listen, I know this is a hard concept for you, but granting a title match on the grounds of losing a title match is nonsensical. Besides, I’ve cleaned out the division. Time for Tank to get off his broken ass and find me a new challenger. I’ve proven all I need with this roster.
Brick: Aint beat me.
Doc: (Turns to Brick, confused) What did you say?
Brick: Said you aint beat me. Ain’t cleaned out nothin till you beat me.
(Brick stands up and faces Doc. Doc tentatively stands looking quizzically)
Hunter: Nah man, you aint giving your bro a shot. You aint giving him MY shot.
Doc: (Still looking at Brick) I’m not giving my bro anything. He wants a shot? He can earn it. Just like you. You two swinging dicks want my belt? Fight for it. I’m done with this.
(Doc walks off as Brick and Hunter square off as the video cuts out)
