SHTCWA STUDENT SHOWCASE RESULTS per dirtsheetdaily.com Big ups to those that came out. Really appreciate it. I know it was a lot considering the March Madness stream as well as Firehawk, but, hey, people still came out, and I really appreciate it. Overall it was a fantastic night of fun and some really solid matches all around. Christ I can't wait to get my housing situation solidified though so I can have reliable internet again and a more regular stream schedule. Of course the entire night was going swimmingly until the main event for the stream. So, apologies as the video gets pretty choppy towards the end in the Denji/Yumi match and the stream had to be restarted for that one.
We're here in Cardiff and it was a raucous, excited, encouraging crowd for the SHTCWA students and wrestlers alike, and everyone put on a show in kind, giving their everything tonight. It was a great night of fantastic matches. Twitch: YouTube:

Diarmaid Farraday vs. Song Jae-Sun:
The match starts off with both students visibly nervous, but Diarmaid seems the more confident of the two, and most certainly the more aggressive, suprisingly, going for constant attempts at quick pins and trying to simply out-maneuver the much bigger Sun. More groundwork until Sun gets on top and just SLAPS the fuck out of the Welshman. REBOUND SLAP ATTEMPT! DIARMAID DUCKS UNDERNEATH BUT MISSES THE DROP TOE HOLD! BIGGG OL' UPPERCUT FROM SUN! 2.9! Grey shows some surprising agility and speed as he just outmaneuvers and frustrates Donnelly to start. Fyfe keeps trying to shake Grey's hand and catch the old man by surprise but Grey's having none of it, as he perfected that move. MAY 31ST, 2021via dirtsheetdaily.comFor over two years, there had been rumblings here and there; half-starts and half-kept promises. But at some point, people, justifiably, forgot about SHTCWA. Or maybe they didn't forget so much as they simply moved on; fans and wrestlers alike. There'd been countless attempts to rekindle the passion for head booker, and arguably, figurehead, Will Craddock, but even during SHTCWA's heyday (as SHTCW:a), Craddock was wrestling on borrowed time. They had been pushing their body since they were a teenager, and injuries, eventually, caught up with them. Craddock had suffered a broken neck; absolutely destroyed by Silver Demon several years ago now. Somehow, miraculously, Craddock returned, but that return was short-lived. And it wasn't because they couldn't wrestle; it was because the money was running out. In season one of SHTCW:a, for the few that will remember, Charles Estlin Oswald acted as the promotion's big bad, whilst behind the scenes, he was helping prop up the Cardiff-based promotion. When season one ended, Oswald faded to the background as a character, but stepped up more and more to prop up the SHTCW:a. Oswald approached it with the same ruthless approach he had in business, in real life: rapid expansion, and for a while, it worked, with separate arms like NEO PURORESU 20XX and the European Wrestling Union, among other, almost “mini” promotions sprouting up into prominence. But Oswald wasn't patient, and Craddock was burnt out, and the two had disagreements about practically everything you could think of. Not to mention, the more Craddock found themself unable to compete in the ring due to injuries, the more they found themself unable to commit to their booking duties. In real life, Oswald had made some bad, bad, BAD investments, and the money was drying up, and drying up quickly. So Craddock, and the SHTCWA as a whole, faded, slowly, and slowly, over time, into relative obscurity. Until today. The SHTCWA has returned, albeit on a much smaller scale; some faces remain, some are new, and things have changed: SO, WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW?Will Craddock is, at least, at the time of writing, nowhere to be found. It's up in the air if they'll ever wrestle again, or return as a figurehead, or booker. They've done a few interviews here and there in the few years since SHTCWA's first heyday, and showed up at other shows both backstage and as an audience member; they had been relatively active on social media, but have not discussed anything about their career. Mainstays and fan favourites of SHTCWA Season One, and Two, like Mayday Malone, Milkshake Jones, CJ Fresh, and The Beat-Alls are all back with SHTCWA after having wrestled with varying degrees of regularity and success over the last few years. Rising stars before SHTCWA went on hiatus like Alouette, Ella-Mae Carter, Kemper Tierney, and and others, are also back, and in the case of the latter two, are on somewhat of a new endeavour. More on that in a bit. Some very familiar stalwarts of SHTCWA have moved on; either having simply dissolved their working relationships with SHTCWA to the point of not returning, it seems, or in some cases, moving on from wrestling. Of course, never say never, but for now, there's a fair few number of names that are synonymous with SHTCWA that currently aren't on the roster page of this reboot. SHTCWA is currently honouring Mayday Malone's World Championship reign, and she continues to be the World Champion. It's unclear, for now, if they're recognizing The Beat-Alls as champions still, as, on commentary tonight—yes, you read that right; on commentary tonight—as former champs. At the moment, they simply might not have a big enough roster to have tag champs, and they seem to be arguably focusing on getting things stable, and running regular shows, before they worry about tag championships. That brings us to our next point of intrigue: - Yep. SHTCWA is running shows again, and it's in the midst of a World Championship tournament.
- SHTCWA has currently run two shows; we reported on their show last week, but, honestly, with so many questions as to what was going on, and the stop-and-start history of the promotion, we were hesitant to even bother.
- SHTCWA just finished its second show in as many weeks, continuing its World Championship tournament.
- SHTCWA has also axed its “affiliate” promotions like the European Wrestling Union, NEO PURORESU 20XX, and all of its stables, it seems; mainly because with their refocus and their rebirth, they don't have the roster to be able to support multiple promotions and stables.
- That said, as was rumoured a while ago, SHTCWA has partnered with prominent Joshi promotion PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. Seemed to be collecting a lot of former SHTCWA stars before its debut, and, unsurprisingly, it only made logical sense for the two promotions to have a working relationship. PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. Not only shares talent with SHTCWA, but it's also been picked up by the SHTCWA Streaming Network, aka the SSN.
- PURORESU H.E.A.R.T., with its debut, also is running a World Championship tournament alongside SHTCWA. The two have, in as many weeks, been running their tournaments alongside each other as two “super shows”, with the last super show to come next week.
Of course, you have to also take this all with a grain of salt: SHTCWA tried a “reboot” of sorts before and it largely floundered before flaming out, but there's no harm in giving SHTCWA the benefit of the doubt. So, let's break down the past two weeks of SHTCWA action, preview next week, and then we'll break down SHTCWA and PURORESU H.E.A.R.T.'s rosters. TOURNAMENT NIGHT ONE: EL HIJA DEL PYRO, EL HIJO DEL PYRO, AND THE MTN DEWCHADOR DEFEAT THE MANLIEST LUCHAS AND THE BLUE TERROR, FANTASMA AZUL
As was standard in latter-day SHTCWA before its revitlization, we see a lucha match to open festivities; specifically, it's a "LUCHA SHOWCASE" match, which means it's a trios match with lucha tag rules, eliminations, and no cut play allowed; meaning no one can break up pins. It's a means to showcase individual luchas and get the crowd hype, essentially.
This match was relatively solid, but there were a few stumbles here and there. The Mtn Dewchador is a particularly odd lucha, but his whole "shtick" with the crowd was over, and both El Hijo and El Hija del Pyro showed their relative inexperience, seemingly hitting their signature Cutters and missing out on pins when it seemed, maybe, they were supposed to go for them. Machismo and Machisma played their roles as rudos perfectly and it was nice to see the legendary Fantasma Azul again; albeit he was arguably a step behind everyone.
It was a good match, but it was definitely overshadowed by the other LUCHA SHOWCASE match tonight. Credit where credit is due, though: El Hija Del Pyro's imploding senton to finish the match was pretty awesome.
YUMI YAMADA UPSETS HER DAUGHTER IN THE OPENING ROUND: May Yamada, biracial daughter of Joshi Legend, Yumi Yamada is nicknamed "The Future as Joshi" for good reason; she's been putting on absolutely amazing matches for quite a while now in Japan, and as PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. was coming together; the get of May as one of its "pillars" was undoubtedly huge. So consider us absolutely SHOCKED when not only did May get matched up with her own mother in the opening round, but Yumi turned back the clock in a fast-paced, surprisingly hard-hitting match that started in second gear. It was a bit too fast of a match, to be honest, but it was a solid opener to the night, and it set the precedent that anyone could beat anyone. CeO Advances in a Star-Making Match Against Diarmaid Farraday:
CeO (Charles Estlin Oswald) returned to the ring just as hated as the day he left it all the way back in SHTCWA Season One. Flanked by Crushtron 3000, Oswald considered this a foregone conclusion against the Battle Royale winner in Diarmaid Farraday, and it showed. But Farraday proved his own; showing off everything he learned at the SHTCWA WRSTL ACADEMY. The Cardiff-born Farraday was co-trained by Fyfe Donnelly and Will Craddock, and it shows; he got chances to show off his technical prowess, and flash pins, nearly catching CeO several times, and plastering CeO with some massive shots before he Crushtron 3000 got involved with some DEVASTATING powerbombs off the apron, and CeO locked in the Scissors Sleeper to finally put away Farraday. If Farraday is one for the future in SHTCWA, though, the future definitely looks bright. Johnny Throwback Upsets Fyfe Donnelly in a Hard-Hitting, Technical Affair:
Much like the match preceeding it, Fyfe Donnelly didn't take his competition seriously, and it cost him. But undoubtedly, before SHTCWA's prolonged hiatus, "The Old-Timey Wrestler", Johnny Throwback, a catch-as-catch-can prodigy, just like Donnelly once was, was one of SHTCWA's rising stars. Donnelly simply started losing momentum and got thrown around by the bigger Throwback, and eventually, a snug German right in the middle of the ring cost Donnelly the match in, admittedly, kind of a shocking result. GoGo Tanaka Takes Down "The Queen of Amarillo" Tara Morgan:
"The Queen of Amarillo" and TOTALLY not Tara Morgan makes her Japanese debut, taking on TOTALLY NOT YOKAI, GoGo Tanaka. Tara dominated large stretches of this match, showing off her striking ability and sheer power, but, GoGo was simply too much: she smartly took out Tara's base with repeated dragon screws and leg work until she realized maybe it wasn't enough, and went for a myriad of Mutasaults. The Mutasault got it done, and it seems that they're REALLY putting those move over like death. It's an interesting choice given that other competitors have more "flashy" top rope moves on the roster, but GoGo has been one of the more solid Joshis in Japan for a few years now, and Tara still got her offense in. This wasn't an amazing match, but it was pretty solid. OVER-THE-HILL KANAKO BEATS UPSTART GEMMA GALLOWAY IN A DECIDEDLY OKAY MATCH:
Gemma Galloway, much like Tara Morgan, makes her debut, of course, not only for PURORESU H.E.A.R.T., but in Japan as well. And "Motherwell's Own", the Rumble winner to gain the last spot in the tournament, showed out. Honestly, she did her part in this match: she looked fantastic in defeat. Gemma showed she wasn't intimidated by the legendary Joshi KANAKO; the Killer of Kyoto. She charged in at KANAKO on multiple occasions, traded blows with the vet, and even hit two HUGE Muscle Busters; an incredible feat. Honestly, in one of the highlights of the match, Gemma seemed to have the match won when she obliterated KANAKO with a Muscle Buster, but the move saw KANAKO tumbling out of the ring. Unfortunatelty, though, as good as the match was, it was undercut by KANAKO's conditioning problems. KANAKO has, of course, always been slow and methodical; it's what she's known for. But she looked GASSED pretty quickly into this match, and it really showed when she couldn't hit her patented "spinning lariat into a running lariat" follow-up spot that used to end matches back in the day. It could have been interesting to see this play out if she had to result to the Darkness Falls as an end if the match had, say, been 5-10 minutes shorter, but with it going so long, it just did more harm than good for KANAKO. It made it feel like the KILLER OF KYOTO, a mythical beast, was human, and not in an interesting way. But in a sad way. KANAKO unfortunately might be over the hill, and you have to question if it was a good idea to have her go over the upstart Galloway. Galloway has HUGE upside, and could, if booked right, be a new Gaijin version of KANAKO; she has all of the size and power to pull it off if booked right; and most importantly, the stamina. KANAKO just sadly looked one step off. We knew she was slowing down over the last few years, but she looked painfully slow at times, and really looked blown up; hard to say if it's on her for coming to the show out-of-shape, or on the bookers for knowing her limits and pushing her past them. RENT-A-TIGRESS, GOLAZO, AND THUNDERBIRD DEFEAT ALOUETTE, FLASH THE MIGHTY, AND EL HIJO DEL 8-BIT IN A LUCHA SHOWCASE MATCH:We've got a break from tournament matches with another "Lucha Showcase" match. Of course, it's all kinds of flippy-doo stuff, with everyone being given a few minutes to shine; Thunderbird, Golazo, and relative newcomer Rent-a-Tigress being introduced to the audience, whilst old fan favourites in Alouette, Flash the Mighty, and El Hijo del 8-Bit, seemingly a tecnico again, reintroducing themselves. But it's the newbies who get the shine in a straightforward, but solid, fun match full of high-flying spots, and really, little else. Great way to break up tournament, and it didn't overstay its welcome. CJ FRESH DEFEATS BEEF MCHUGEBULK IN A SOLID FOREGONE CONCLUSION:Beef McHugeBulk was, surprisingly, very over in front of the Toronto crowd, but, of course, "The King of Swag Style", the "Fresh Prince of Wrestling", CJ Fresh was even more over, sporting a new hairdo. Beef was his usual overly-cocky, self-assured self, and it cost him. CJ also showed off a little, but eventually, knew it was time to put Beef away when Beef threatened to nearly beat the perrenial World Title-contender. Solid match, but interesting to see CJ get the win without even hitting the Fresh Drop; instead finishing with the Fresh Splash. ELLA-MAE CARTER DOMINATES; MIGHT WIN THIS WHOLE DAMNED THING:
This match was pretty solid; not amazing, but not bad at all. It was serviceable, and it served its purpose very well: getting Ella-Mae Carter over as an absolute monster. Kasumi looked good to begin the match, showing off some speed, and her ability to feed kicks into people's faces. But eventually Ella-Mae just took control, and her signature spot of absolutely TURNING OPPONENTS INSIDE OUT, and finishing them with a spinning Deadlift Powerbomb makes for a great visual. Arguably, if you were to have Ella-Mae really establish herself as one of the dominant forces in PURORESU H.E.A.R.T., she would have won more definitely, but Kasumi also looked strong in defeat by barely getting her shoulder up a few times during Carter's signature spot. MAIN EVENT: MILKSHAKE JONES ESTABLISHES HIMSELF AS A BONAFIDE THREAT VS. DENJI SONODA:This match went, arguably, a bit long, but it told an interesting story, and solidified Milkshake Jones as an absolute threat. It was especially impressive considering Denji Sonoda, son of BLOOD DRAGON, sister of Sachiko Sonoda, is a bonafide stud of a competitor. It was interesting; the match started slowly, then Denji dominated for a long stretch, and it took on a quality similar to the matches between Fyfe Donnelly and Johnny Throwback and CeO and Diarmaid Farraday. Denji seemingly started to toy with Milkshake, and it would eventually cost him, as Milkshake got serious, rather than dancing and flaunting about, and finally hit a HUGE spinning backfist for a shocking win. This seemed to almost hint at a Denji heel turn, but I don't think it will be one; against a face opponent, instead, it may have. And credit where it's due: Milkshake was getting cheered, but he is undoubtedly a heel through and through. He's just undeniably fun to watch. This dynamic would have worked better had we not seen similar stories in the ring in earlier matches. Regardless, it was a really solid match, and a good way to end the night. TUESDAY, MAY 31ST SHTCWA x PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. TOURNAMENT TURMOIL NIGHT TWO: Pirate Arcade & Bar in TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA & Toyokoro General Gymnastic Hall IN HOKKAIDO, JAPAN Kemper Tierney vs. Saoirse Donnelly Mr. Piledriver vs. Senor Powerbomb Beth Excellent vs. Sachiko Sonoda CJ Fresh vs. Milkshake Jones Megumi Ono vs. RIPLEY Odette Okoye vs. Mayday Malone The Beat-Alls vs. "Smooth Operator" Buddy Morgan & Beau Jangles LUCHA SHOWCASE MATCH: El Swampo, Poison, Florida Tiger vs. Tachyon, Unicorn Ultra, & Siberian Tiger III CeO vs. Johnny Throwback LUCHA SHOWCASE MATCH: El Hijo del 8-Bit, Alouette, & Rent-a-Tigress vs. Mtn Dewchador, El Hijo & El Hija Del Pyro PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. QUARTERS AND SEMIS
RESULTS: NIGHT TWO VIDEO:
SAOIRSE DONNELLY SHOCKS THE WORLD IN RETURN, DEFEATS KEMPER TIERNEY TO ADVANCE. (88%/3 Stars): lol forgot a screenshot.
It had been a long time since fans had seen Saoirse Donnelly; multiple years now since Fyfe Donnelly turned on his sister, rechristened himself as "The Belfast Bastard", and Saoirse, "The Belfast Bombshell" was forgotten on the wayside as she fought legitimate injuries, took time off to raise a family, and to refocus.
Not only did Saoirse come back just as good as she was before, but way, way better. Saoirse isn't just a bland babyface anymore, but a hard-hitting, hard-nosed competitor with a focus on some brutal DDTs with just a sprinkling of her dad and mum's old influence. She showed a surprising amount of confidence, and gave the crafty, submission-based Kemper Tierney a run for her money.
This was a match that went a million miles a minute, and both competitors looked really good. Unfortunately, for Kemper, who, yes, if you don't remember, was a one-time SHTCWA World Champion for all of a few minutes before CeO screwed her over WAY back int he day, this match was maybe arguably a bit too much of a vehicle to reintroduce Saoirse to the world and re-establish just how good she can be. Kemper got forgotten a little bit here, but she played her part well as a vicious heel. If this match could have maybe gone another three to five minutes, though, it could have really been fantastic.
MR. PILEDRIVER PROVES PILEDRIVERS RULE IN FUN, BUT OVER-LONG MATCH:
Everyone knows and loves Mr. Piledriver and loves to hate Señor Powerbomb; the two, alongside Baron Von Brainbuster have been warring over what is the best move in pro wrestling for literal years now. And, as of a few years ago, Ms. DDT joined their seemingly eternal four-way war. Any combination of the four always put on a fun, old-school kind of match full of shtick and schmozz and playing to the crowd. But what was really interesting was how hard these two went when they really didn't need to. In lieu of a LUCHA SHOWCASE match early, these two had the duty to get the crowd hot, and they did, at first. They continued even as things ramped up and they started really going at it, planting each other with apron powerbombs and HUGE spiking piledrivers and no-selling all of it. Just, unfortunately, the match arguably went on about 5-7 minutes too long, and they lost the crowd until Mr. Piledriver FINALLY took down Señor Powerbomb for the three-count. SONODA BESTS BETH IN A SOLID MATCH:
This was a good, even match, for the most part, and "The Beth there is, the Beth there was, the Beth there ever will be" Beth Excellent, someone who was always lost in the shuffle back in the day, but who had a really good character, and still does. Sachiko was able to show off that she's not just a gender-swapped version of her brother; whilst, yes, she quite obviously evokes her brother considering her heavy reliance on kicks, and the Kamigoye as a finisher, she's a fantastic competitor in her own right. Beth was also able to showcase her submission skills, locking in a few really interesting, intricate armholds, and countering Sachiko well; having answers for her constantly. The match took an interesting turn, with Beth going after Sachiko's arms rather than her legs; her primary source of offense, and arguably it cost Beth, as Sachiko took the win. Again, though, Beth looked good in defeat, and Sachiko looked super strong as she withstood two double-arm armbars before finally taking it home and advancing onto the next round. FRESH MOVES ONTO THE FINALS IN AN UNDERWHELMING MATCH:
Considering the main event in night one between Milkshake Jones and Denji Sonoda, Jones seemed poised to be built up as a pretty big deal; maybe even potentially the winner of the whole tournament. He was not booked to look particularly strong in this match, though. CJ was simply all over him from the get, with Milkshake barely able to get out of first gear. CJ seemed to just be clowning on Milkshake, eventually hitting a Rolling Koppo Kick and then rolling up Milkshake for the win in a near-squash. It'll be interesting to see what comes out of this for Milkshake, as he seemed so poised to really step up. The booking feels uneven here, and whilst CJ is of course over as hell, he's not only capable of more, but more believable as a babyface in peril who comes back, rather than a dominant force. This match just didn't quite click and the story didn't make much sense, unfortunately. MEGUMI ONO SHOCKS, CLOBBERS RIPLEY IN A CONFUSING MATCH:
Unfortunately, the night didn't get any better as far as match quality goes, with this one. Only 2.5 stars is, arguably, maybe a bit harsh, but this match was confusing. Seemingly opposite the match before it, Megumi and RIPLEY didn't so much fail to rev up the gears so much as they started at third or fourth gear and barely had anywhere to go. That kind of match can work; a sprint that just gets all of the big spots in as quick as possible. It can especially work in a tournament, as you can argue that competitors are trying to conserve as much energy as possible for subsequent rounds. And, honestly, both competitors looked good. Megumi looked like an absolute killer; "Pure Heart" is a striker who is known for being a babyface, but here in this match, at least, she was not messing around with strong elbow strikes and a mean strike focusing on RIPLEY'S arms. She was CLOBBERING RIPLEY right from the get. And to her credit, RIPLEY was more than happy to answer back with devastating knees and she seemd to have the match won with a HUGE Tiger Driver '91/DEATH STAR DESTROYER lifting Megumi up from the ground. But Megumi shockingly kicked out. And that was when it really seemed poised to step up. But Megumi shifted to a go-behind and hit a huge German Suplex that RIPLEY seemed like she got out of, or was supposed to get out of, or the ref called wrong. Something just felt off about this ending; like it wasn't supposed to happen, especially given that RIPLEY was poised, in all of the quiet hype, and lead-up to PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. as the big Gaijin; the tough-as-nails, badass chick who will bash your face in. Something felt off here and it was hard to tell if it was a genuine botch or if it was deliberate; meant to play on expectations of the crowd and to shock everyone. ODETTE OKOYE FALLS IN A SOLID DEBUT VS. MAYDAY MALONE:
Of course Mayday Malone, current SHTCWA World Champion is a favourite for the PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. Championship. So this felt like an inevitability. But credit where credit is due: in this relatively short match, all things considered, Odette Okoye put in a great effort; showing some flashes of brilliance in a good babyface vs. babyface clash. Okoye got to show some heart and resilience, show off her CJ Fresh-inspired repertoire (not surprising, she was trained by CJ Fresh and Bobby Donnelly, and is dating Fresh), and Mayday Malone got to hit all of her signature spots before advancing into the Quarters. THE BEAT-ALLS REUNITE, DEFEAT DEBUTING MORGAN/JANGLES
Honestly, for what was a pretty thrown-together match, this "palette cleanser" match was reallly, really good. The Beat-Alls haven't missed a step, looking like a well-oiled machine, and the cobbled together face team of "The Smooth Operator" Buddy Morgan and "The Country-Fried Gentleman" Beau Jangles looked great in defeat. Most importantly, everyone got to shine in this elimination tag match that most definitely didn't feel like it was 25 minutes. The Beat-Alls got to do all their dastardly heel things and Pepper was, as always, the ring general, whilst Eggman occasionally came in to provide raw power. Morgan and Jangles held their own, though, and got to show off their charisma. Morgan, in particular, looked really good. The spot of the match, undoubtedly, and possibly the spot of the entire night—and, fuck it, maybe the entire two nights of the tournaments—came when Buddy Morgan jammed John Pepper's head right down his tights to set up for a disgusting Stuffed-Tights Piledriver, but George Eggman intercepted Morgan with a DEVASTATING Spear, saving his partner in the process. The Beat-Alls beat the thrown together team 2-0, and everyone looked great. TACHYON, UNICORN ULTRA, AND SIBERIAN TIGER III SWEEP EL SWAMPO, POISON, AND FLORIDA TIGER IN A SOLID MATCH:
We got another lucha showcase match which seemed to draw out the match card arguably a bit long, but, to its credit, the crowd was hot throughout most of the night, and, surpsingly, things picked up with this match. Everyone got their spots in, with Florida Tiger in particular showcasing just what a psychopath he was with multiple chair spots and bites and fork-stabs. Poison also looked strong in her debut, and El Swampo was their usual weird self. Tachyon was in the ring for the tecnicos for the majority of the time, and unfortunately, he seemed to have a bit of ring rust, as he looked sloppy throughout. One spot in particular, where he went for a handspring nothing looked really, really weird. Unicorn Ultra looked okay in her limited time in the ring, but as the match went on, how much they were protecting her by not having her do much really stood out. Siberian Tiger III was also pretty solid, but not amazing; his finishing sequence where he nailed a Swanton Bomb/Senton Atomico on Florida Tiger into a standing moonsault to seal the match was really impressive, though. CeO DOMINATES THROWBACK TO ADVANCE TO THE FINALS:
This match was interesting and it serves as a really weird parallel for the other semi-final match between CJ Fresh and Milkshake Jones. But, I'm not entirely sure it was good, to be honest, especially when considered in tandem with the other Semi-Finals match.
Johnny Throwback looked like a world-beater in his match vs. Fyfe Donnelly. Or, more specifically, he looked smart. He looked competent, like he could not only hold his own, but utilize his technical skills to outwork someone, and then use his sheer power to dump them on their damned head. In this match, though, it was all CeO. And it was confusing, considering how much CeO struggled against Diarmaid Farraday. In isolation, that match was fantastic, and it did a lot of good to "make" Farraday, so to speak. But then you consider that result compared to this one, and it's confusing. If anything, CeO should have dominated the rookie and struggled against Throwback before securing the win. Granted, yes, of course, Farraday is a face, and Throwback is a tweener at best, but the storytelling of the match still felt strange.
CeO essentially dominated Throwback all throughout the match, cutting him off with heel tactic after heel tactic after heel tactic until he sinched in the Scissors Sleeper, and IMMEDIATELY, the match ended. It was a strange, abrupt ending that made Throwback look a bit week, to be honest. It was good, but not great, and now, we see CJ Fresh vs. CeO in the finals; both with legit claims for the SHTCWA World Championship. CeO comes back, seemingly stronger, and better, to get revenge against Mayday Malone, the upstart who never should have beat him all those years ago in the inaugural SHTCWA World Championship tournament and embarrassed him with criticals. Meanwhile, CJ is the guy who always puts on an incredible match, but has never "won the big one."
Again: the way they got here in the semis wasn't amazing from an in-ring perspective, but hopefully the finals deliver.
ELLA-MAE CARTER DESTROYS KANAKO TO ADVANCE INTO THE SEMIS:
Credit where credit is due, again: Ella-Mae Carter looks like a world-beater, absolutely destroying KANAKO in a relatively short match. Interesting, too, that KANAKO took less finishing sequences than Kasumi Kuramoto before her. They also, for the most part, protected KANAKO in making sure to not stretch her beyond what she was capable and have the match go long. At the same time, though: Again, why have KANAKO go past Gemma in the first round, only to lose to definitively vs. Ella-Mae in the next? GOGO TANAKA KILLS THE DREAM VIA MUTASAULT
I'm trying not to be too critical of PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. here, but honestly, some booking decisions are very strange. This isn't a slight on GoGo Tanaka, either. She's great, and people like her a lot. But it feels slightly strange to have Yumi Yamada, the living Joshi legend, defeat her upstart daughter in a short match only to lose to Tanaka in the next. Granted, it was a solid match, and Yumi proved she could really still go, which was very encouraging to see; the thought of her continuing to work with the newer talent on a regular basis is very exciting. And this raises the profile of GoGo for beating a legend, especially with her Mutasault. It's just... interesting. This match was good; it wasn't amazing. It's also strange; it didn't feel overly-long watching live, but going back and watching it for the review, it dragged a bit, and there were some instances where momentum seemed to drag.
SONODA SOLIDIFIES ACE STATUS VS. ONO, MOVES ONTO THE SEMIS.
This result makes the matchup between Megumi and RIPLEY that much more interesting and makes me really believe that RIPLEY was supposed to kick out. Whether it was the ref or RIPLEY fucking up, I'm still not sure.
Regardless, this was a pretty good match; very similar to Megumi's previous match in which she came out swinging. And Sachiko answered in kind. But it kind of dragged, and then Sachiko got the win with a Dragon Suplex. I will give PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. credit; I appreciate that it varies up how matches end; not just with finishing moves, but pinning combinations on vicious suplexes, and its Joshis having multiple finishers/signatures that can end matches, but it also means that sometimes some matches can fall a bit flat if things don't end on a particular high. This was one of those times: the match just kind of dragged, then ended on a move that didn't feel like it should have ended the match.
SAOIRSE SOLIDIFIES STAR STATUS AS MAYDAY PUNCHES HER TICKET TO THE SEMIS:
Honestly, I don't know what to rate this match as, but I do know one thing: Saoirse Donnelly looked like a million bucks. If nothing else comes out of this tournament, PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. undoubtedly has a HUGE babyface in the returning Saoirse Donnelly. Mayday, as the consummate main eventer, hit all of her big moves. And you'd think this would be a foregone conclusion, but the two put on a fantastic match, with Saoirse showcasing just how tough she was, kicking out of multiple Swing for the Fences running elbow attempts until Mayday finally put her down. Saoirse also showcased her own vicious skills, but I have to take a few points off the final score because Saoirse didn't quite ever look like she was going to win; rather she constantly looked on the defensive. Credit where it's due: she looked resilient, but she never quite looked poised to win, so there wasn't as much drama as there could have been.
ELLA-MAE CARTER BOOKS HER SPOT IN THE FINALS IN A HARD-FOUGHT MATCH:
This match was pretty solid; borderline great. If it had a bit more time, it definitely would have been great, but after the match between Mayday and Saoirse, it made sense for this one to go a bit shorter. Sachiko looked dangerous; like the first competitor all tournament to really challenge Ella-Mae and equal her, at times. As commentary said, on the stream, "Everyone, regardless of how strong they are, gets knocked the fuck out by a knee to the face." And it's true; Sachiko teased it, nearly got there, but she couldn't quite ever get into that gear where she was threatening to hit Ella-Mae with a Kamigoye. But she did look really good in withstanding the assault of lariats and powerbombs from Ella-Mae before Ella-Mae had to switch up tactics and target Sachiko's legs with the Texas Clover Leaf. The only reason this loses a few points is because the match before it told a similar story, and it probably could have, and should have, gone a few minutes longer. FUN MATCH TO PAD FOR TIME:
There seemed to be a bit of panic in throwing this match together, but it also made sense to do so; give the crowd a little break. It was good lucha stuff, but probably not as strong as last week's lucha matches, and we really missed out on the Mtn Dewchador not hitting anyone with his poison mtn dew mist. MAYDAY BOOKS HER TICKET IN THE FINALS; COULD BECOME A DOUBLE CHAMP
This match was solid, and credit to everyone in PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. for wrestling so many matches tonight; especially Mayday Malone for wrestling longer ones. This match was really good, with Mayday throwing mad bombs, and GoGo showing just how well she could pick apart an opponent, working the legs, and even locking in the Bridging Figure Four/Figure Eight on the outside. She couldn't capitalize on all of the pressure, though, and eventually, Mayday hit that running sliding elbow, the Swing for the Fences to solidify her place in the finals vs. Ella-Mae Carter.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Overall, SHTCWA and PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. put on two solid nights for this tournament; some booking choices don't quite make sense yet and some ring rust was definitely prevalent for a few wrestlers. That said: They've got some interesting places to go; Diarmaid Farraday and Saoirse Donnelly seem to be made, Ella-Mae Carter is really being positioned well, and Sachiko Sonoda also looked strong.
Questions do have to be asked about RIPLEY, Gemma Galloway, Milkshake Jones, and Johnny Throwback's treatment, though. We'll have to just wait and see how everything plays out.
Mayday could really solidify her legacy as an incredible talent if she becomes a double champ. If Ella-Mae wins, it could possibly signify a potential heel turn, if we're speculating?
Regardless of some of the unevenness of the two nights, and the particularly long night two, I am cautiously optimistic for SHTCWA and PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. and I'm excited for next week.
So far, the card is as follows for next week. Expect a few more matches to be added to the card.: PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT FINALS: Mayday Malone vs. Ella-Mae Carter SHTCWA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT FINALS; WINNER FACES MAYDAY MALONE IN THE MAIN EVENT: CJ Fresh vs. CeO w/ Crushtron 3000 Johnny Throwback vs. A Mystery Opponent LUCHA TAG MATCH: The Manliest Luchas vs. El Hija & El Hijo Del Pyro PASSION Kamiya vs. Skye Jameson vs. Ai Amaya Regan O'Riley & Beth Excellent vs. Kemper Tierney & Rhiannon Ramsay MAIN EVENT: SHTCWA World Title Match: Mayday Malone vs. Winner of CJ Fresh vs. CeO
So, Mayday Malone pulls double duty as she faces off against "The Lone Star Ace" Ella-Mae Carter to determine the inaugural PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. Champion. She could absolutely make history as a double champ, or Ella-Mae could solidify herself as a monster heel. Regardles, Mayday then ends the night defending the SHTCWA World Championship against the winner of CJ Fresh and CeO. I will be running these weekly. They've been on Tuesdays, but, honestly, Mondays might work better for me. I'm just working it out and we'll go from there next week. It'll be around 5:00-6:00 or so, Eastern time, regardless of the day, over at www.twitch.tv/willplaysgamessometimes and I'll get bios and everything up in the next post. I'll also upload the videos to YouTube in the coming days; they'll be raw. But moving forward I'll definitely try to pare down the videos on YouTube. No promises, though. Don't wanna cause myself to burn out as I do other things. :)

SHTCWA x PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. RESULTS: CONTROVERSY IN THE MAIN EVENT via dirtsheetdaily.com
CARD FOR MONDAY, JUNE 6TH:
PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT FINALS: Mayday Malone vs. Ella-Mae Carter Jae-Sun Song vs. Darien Diamond SHTCWA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT FINALS; WINNER FACES MAYDAY MALONE IN THE MAIN EVENT: CJ Fresh vs. CeO w/ Crushtron 3000 Johnny Throwback vs. A Mystery Opponent LUCHA TAG MATCH: The Manliest Luchas vs. El Hija & El Hijo Del Pyro Beef McHugeBulk vs. Diarmaid Farraday ELIMINATION TRIPLE THREAT MATCH: PASSION Kamiya vs. Skye Jameson vs. Ai Amaya Rhiannon Ramsay (w/ Kemper Tierney) vs. Gemma Galloway The Excellent Blondes (Regan O'Riley & Beth Excellent) vs. Bonnie Briggs & Saoirse Donnelly MAIN EVENT: SHTCWA World Title Match: Mayday Malone vs. Winner of CJ Fresh vs. CeO
It was an action-packed night for SHTCWA and PURORESU H.E.A.R.T., as the Joshi fed flew its talent to Toronto so Mayday Malone could compete in the card opener and the main event, and the two promotions simulcast from two separate venues in the Six.
Through and through, it was a strong card, but the night ended with controversy, setting up some interesting paths moving forward when it comes to the SHTCWA World Championship.
YOU CAN WATCH THE SHOW HERE:
Let's get into the results:
Mayday Malone topples Ella-Mae Carter in a solid match; becomes history-setting double-champ and inaugural PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. champ What a fast, frenetic, and surprising way to open the card: the PURORESU H.E.A.R.T Championship Tournament finals. Mayday Malone battled through upstart Odette Okoye, Saoirse Donnelly, and GoGo Tanaka to get to this spot, whilst Ella-Mae streamrolled Kasumi Kuramoto, KANAKO, and Sachiko Sonoda.
Mayday, like many of her matches, refused to be intimidated, or to back down, taking a lot of the offense to Ella-Mae. But Ella-Mae met every strike head-on in the early-goings as the two were pretty evenly matched, feeling one another out.
That was, until, Ella-Mae hit a DEVASTATING powerbomb from the apron, and seemed to take control from there.
Carter wanted to slow it down, attempting to work the legs, and set up her Torture Cloverleaf. She even hit it a few times, but Mayday refused to give up. Ella-Mae also absolutely obliterated Mayday with headbutts, but the Pinch Hitter surprisingly didn't bleed, and still didn't back down. She went into overdrive, hitting her signature rope-running dropkick spot, and a flurry of Rapid Screw Neckbreakers and Blade Runners until, finally, just over a half-hour gone, she put Ella-Mae away for the one, two, three, crowning her as the inaugural PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. champion, and, at least for the next few hours, crowning her as SHTCWA's first and only double-champion.Two Debutants Pull Off a Solid Match; Diamond Cutters for Days It was the debut of not only WRSTL Academy alumnus, and former K-POP Megastar (known as "SONG"), Jae-Sun Song, but it was also the debut of "Diamond in the Rough" and all-around dirtbag, Darien Diamond. The two didn't put on a five-star classic, by any means, but they did put on a solid match, and they carried the momentum from the first match of the night on without burning out the crowd.
Early on, the tall, relatively lanky Son showed his amateur prowess with some takedowns into open palm-strikes against Diamond, who was most definitely taken aback. Darien eventually started to turn it around in his favour, though, coming back with a takedown of his own and pummelling Jae-Sun for revenge. He proved just how quickly he could hit a Diamond Cutter—shoulders back, chest out—and eventually put away the upstart rookie Song.
Overall, it was a well-paced, good out for both competitors, and Jae-Sun Song seems to have a lot of upside. He didn't really get past second gear and step it up to be able to threaten a win, but he's still learning, the crowd was firmly behind him, and Diamond proved a good foil for him; a solid, veteran hand who's been around the indies for ages now who has now been exposed to the SHTCWA crowd and who could prove himself a solid, reliable midcard heel.CeO HEELS ON FRESH, WINS SHTCWA WORLD TITLE TOURNAMENT TO TAKE ON MALONE Both competitors had everything to gain and nothing to lose in this match; each too had legit claims to win the tournament. In the inaugural SHTCWA World Championship tournament, way back when it stood for Super Hyper Turbo Championship Wrestling: alpha, Mayday Malone shocked the world, beating both CJ Fresh AND CeO on her way to the World Championship. And Fresh has had multiple opportunities before and after at that belt, but he's never won the big one. Meanwhile, CeO has been seething for YEARS now after that humiliating knockout loss to Mayday Malone.
The match started well enough for CJ, and, surprisingly, Crushtron didn't get involved at all, but CeO stuck to a gameplan that has been getting him through the tournament all along: wear his opponents down, and lock in the devastating Scissors Sleeper hold. CJ was able to hold out at first, but eventually, he simply couldn't, and he passed out right in the middle of the ring in somewhat of a shocking result, just as it seemed the match might step into another gear. To really incite a near-riot, CeO kept the hold locked in well after the bell, as CJ lie there, lifeless.
It was settled: CeO was heading into the main event of the night to face off against Mayday Malone for the SHTCWA World Championship.
MARCEL MÜLLER, STUTTGART SUBMISSION MACHINE SURPRISES EVERYONE IN AN ALL-OUT WAR WITH THROWBACK There had been many rumours as to who Johnny Throwback's surprise opponent would be; insiders expected someone "outside" of SHTCWA to establish working relationships with other promotions. And, truth be told, maybe that would have been the smart thing to do for SHTCWA. But, a return of one of the SHTCWA's first stars, and a perrenial World Championship contender in Marcel Müller wasn't too bad of a shout either, especially considering the quality of match him and "The Old-Timey Wrestler" Johnny Throwback put on.
In the opening moments of the match, Müller went all-out, swinging wildly with his DAS BOOT running Pump-Kick, but he missed. The two then settled into trading off submission holds and counters, as well as suplex attempts until it quickly devolved into full-on neck-dumping suplexes. Müller took control, but Throwback kept answering back, dumping Müller back on his head, and then even hitting the Smith Special, smartly rolling Müller away from the ropes for a near-fall.
Müller kept going for the DAS BOOT and working the arm to set up his Wünderarmbar, but, eventually, he succumbed to a top-rope diving headbutt into a Gedo Clutch for Throwback to get the win. Hopefully, this isn't a one-off appearance for Müller, who received a standing ovation for his return.THE MANLIEST LUCHAS TAKE DOWN EL HIJA & EL HIJO DEL PYRO IN A COMPETITIVE LUCHA TAG MATCH The luchas helped break up the pace of things, and the Manliest Luchas, unsurprisingly, worked like a well-oiled machine. El Hija del Pyro looked to take things a bit too personally and break script when she hit a huge cannonball senton, and her leg clipped low on Machisma, then after the match, she planted Machisma with a Cutter. All in all, it was a solid match; not too much to write home about, but just a good, solid lucha match.
BEEF MCHUGEBULK TAKES DOWN UPSTART FARRADAY IN A SOLID, ALBEIT SLIGHTLY LONG MATCH This match played out very similarly to the other rookie vs. vet match in Darien Diamond vs. Jae-Sun Song. Farraday had a great showing against CeO in the SHTCWA World Championship tournament and looked to continue to impress; and to be honest, he did. He showed off some technical and submission skills and tied Beef up like a pretzel several times; also nailing Beef with a cutter. But Beef simply couldn't be put down, and eventually, hit a huge hip attack, and put Farraday away for good in a match that maybe went a few minutes too long.
PASSION KAMIYA SHINES IN TRIPLE THREAT PASSION Kamiya had a strong showing against "The Cutest of All-Time" Skye Jameson and "The J-Pop Superstar" Ai Amaya in a triple threat match, showcasing her agility and her flash pin abilities; in fact, CRIT!ing Ai Amaya, surprisingly; even more surprisingly, Ai was able to slip out of the pin for only a two-count. The match was your standard triple threat fare; a bit of a mess, but a fun mess none the less. Ai ate the most punishment out of the three Joshi, and Skye had a good showing, nailing some big hip attacks, but undoubtedly PASSION looked the strongest coming out of this match. Not just for winning, but she seemed to know how best to showcase her skills with agility and quick pins throughout the match.THE NUMBERS ARE TOO MUCH FOR GALLOWAY; MIGHT WE BE SEEING A NEW TANDEM FORMING? The Wrestling Witch, Rhiannon Ramsay, faced off against Gemma Galloway in a rematch of the final two from the Battle Royale that saw "Motherwell's Own", Gemma Galloway, earn the final spot in the PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. World Championship tournament.
And both competitors tried to play to their strengths: Gemma used her power, and Rhiannon used her quickness, and submission skills. Both competitors looked like they had something to prove, too, seemingly starting the match in second gear. The numbers game, eventually, caught up with Gemma, after she repeatedly was caught on the outside, and Kemper Tierney and Rhiannon worked well together to take down Gemma. Once back in the ring, Ramsay locked in the Orienteering with Napalm Death, and Gemma simply couldn't escape, meaning she had to tap, and Rhiannon continued the attack post-match as Kemper joined her whilst the cameras faded. You have to believe this means the start of a new dark alliance in PURORESU H.E.A.R.T., and the entire roster needs to be on high alert.
MAKESHIFT TEAM TAKES DOWN THE EXCELLENT BLONDES Saoirse Donnelly had a very strong PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. World Championship tournament; despite losing to Mayday Malone in the Quarterfinals, she undoubtedly showed incredible heart, especially after having not wrestled in nearly two years after she was put on the shelf by her own brother, "The Belfast Bastard", Fyfe Donnelly. She found herself on the end of harrassment from Regan O'Reilly and "The Beth in the World" Beth Excellent throughout the week, and shot back on social media, reminding the two of them that they didn't make the PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. World Championship tournament. To which the two blondes insinuated something about "favours."
Fast forward to tonight, and Saoirse Donnelly found herself a tag partner in the debuting "Not-So-Wee Lass" Bonnie Briggs.
The match was solid; with Beth taking the brunt of the work for her side (with Regan apparently nursing a reoccuring knee injury that has bugged her for the past few months) attempting to work the arms of both Briggs and Donnelly, and Briggs showing off her power and agility, and her striking ability, whilst Saoirse showed off an up-until-now unforeseen killer edge. Apparently, the Excellent Blondes really got underneath Donnelly's skin, and it showed. She absolutely attacked the two any chance she got, and planted Excellent with a Top Rope Diving DDT (Deep Impact) to definitively put Excellent down for the three-count.
CONTROVERSY IN THE MAIN EVENT; MALONE DESTROYED, BUT RETAINS THE CHAMPIONSHIP What an absolutely bonkers main-event.
Mayday Malone comes into this main event as a historic double-champion; she won the PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. World Championship to open up the night, and CeO came to the ring, flanked by Crushtron 3000, absolutely eating up all of the boos that were rained down upon him. As the match began, CeO yelled "THAT TITLE IS MINE, YOU BIT**!"
And, of course, more boos rained down upon Oswald, but he seemed unphased. Malone came out of the gates hard, just like she had been all throughout the PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. tournament. And seemingly with an endless fount of energy, she kept it up; that's why she's a double champ, after all.
Credit to Oswald where it's due, though: despite Mayday coming out of the gates with huge elbow strikes, hitting her signature spots like the running the ropes dropkick and the Switchblade, Oswald absorbed all of the damage, and utilized underhnaded tactics like eye rakes, eye pokes, and stomps to the hands to take down Malone.
Things started to take a turn when Mayday teased a dive to the outside, but thought better of it when she saw Crushtron on the outside make a neck-slicing gesture. But with the crowd firmly behind her, she threw caution to the wind, and dove to the outside, taking punishment from both CeO and Crushtron 3000.
She weathered that storm, but the end of the match came when she dove to the outside again, and got absolutely destroyed by two seperate double team Powerbombs into Neckbreakers from Crushtron 3000 and CeO.
Mayday seemed to be completely out of it, and couldn't get back into the ring, resulting in CeO being declared the winner.
Moments after CeO's hand was raised, though, the reality of what happened quickly flashed across his face: yes, he won the match, but Malone had retained the championship due to champion's advantage. In response, CeO took out his frustrations on the ref as the camera panned away, locking the ref into a Scissors Sleeper whilst Crushtron 3000 powerbombed the already limp-bodied Mayday Malone into the apron, seeming to knock the champ out, and causing the SHTCWA roster to empty out from the back and fight off Crushtron 3000 and CeO.
With that, we saw an end to the night; a night in which Mayday Malone ends it as double-champ still, but undoubtedly, one has to think CeO has a claim to a rematch.

SHTCWA TO DELAY UPCOMING SHOW BY A DAY DUE TO SCHEDULING CONFLICTvia dirtsheetdaily.com
(It is legit a scheduling conflict lol. I forgot that I volunteered for an event on Monday, but I'll be back on Tuesday night, and then schedule will stick to Mondays moving forward. Also, yes, still working on bios, they're just taking a bit longer than expected because I've been absolutely swamped with work.)

BIG EDIT: Uh, fuck me running, the game didn't work for a while there, and admittedly I am super defeated about it, especially considering I basically have to redownload everything, so that's gonna take FOREVER. No point in trying to stream tonight. So we'll just run quick results, get those posted in a little while, and be back next week. Sorry, folks.

PLENTY OF CONTROVERSY AT JUNE 13TH SHTCWA SHOW:
via dirtsheetdaily.com
Match Card:
16-PERSON LUCHA CROWN RUMBLE: Alouette vs. Orchid vs. Flash the Mighty vs. Poison vs. El Hijo Del 8-Bit vs. Fantasma Azul vs. Mtn Dewchador vs. Golazo vs. Thunderbird vs. Rent-A-Tigress vs. Polaris vs. Tachyon vs. Florida Tiger vs. El Gringo Fantastico vs. Machismo vs. Machisma SHTCWA World Championship Tournament Rematch: Fyfe Donnelly vs. Johnny Throwback Darrik Davies & Darien Diamond vs. Diarmaid Farraday & Jae-Sun Song Milkshake Jones vs. Valentine Williams Patches w/ El Gringo Fantastico vs. Beau Jangles w/ Buddy Morgan Beef McHugeBulk vs. Mr. Piledriver Marcel Müller vs. CJ Fresh MAIN EVENT: Mayday Malone vs. Crushtron 3000 w/ CeO; if Mayday wins, Crushtron 3000 is barred from ringside for the SHTCWA World Championship rematch.
RESULTS:
El Hijo del 8-Bit is the new holder of the lucha crown, outlasting 15 other luchadors, and surprisingly, El Hijo Del 8-Bit as the other finalist in a crazy, high-flying rumble. 28:35, 89% Fyfe Donnelly gets revenge on Johnny Throwback in somewhat of a dud, uneven match, locking in an armbar after stiff shots and blasting Throwback with repeated chair shots. Reports are saying that at some point, Donnelly went into business for himself, dominating Throwback with hard strikes, locking in "shoot" holds, and that Throwback was forced to tap because Donnelly may have broke his arm for real if he didn't. 17:09, 76%. Davies and Diamond beat rookies Farraday and Song via CRITICAL! as Diamond hits the Diamond Cutter in a middle-of-the-road match. Farraday had a CRITICAL! flash pin on Davies, but Diamond broke it up. Eventually, Diamond got the CRITICAL! on Song. Song was able to eventually get up under his own power after the heels beat down on Farraday post-match. 22:01, 80%. Valentine Williams scores a HUGE upset in a surprisingly competititive match, showing that he might just not be as over the hill as originally thought. One has to question this booking decision, though, given Milkshake Jones's rise to prominence in the dying days of SHTCWA pre-reboot, and his work outside of SHTCWA. 19:20, 98%. Beau Jangles defeats Patches in, essentially, a glorified squash match that wasn't too amazing, but the crowd enjoyed because Jangles seems to be inexplicably very over. 11:02, 63%. Beef McHugeBulk steals Mr. Piledriver's own finishing move, planting Piledriver, then follows up his own signature running hip attack to seal the win in a surpririsingly solid match. 15:43, 88%. Marcel Müller SHOCKS everyone when, barely even three minutes into the match, he locks on a rolling arm lock, and something goes horribly wrong, CRITICAL!ing CJ Fresh in the main event. Fresh is left writhing around on the mat, and they have to call the match very early, as it seems Fresh's arm is broken. The match ends in a shocking CRITICAL! 3:03, 50%. MAIN EVENT: Mayday and Crushtron 3000 put on a fantastic match in which Mayday kicked out of the F-10 not even five minutes in and looked like the plucky underdog throughout. She had the match won on several occasions, it seemed, but CeO intervened, and Mayday kept kicking out of F-10s and Chokeslams; three of them, in fact. The match came to an end when Schrodinger's Chair finally came into play. CeO had slid a chair into the ring earlier in the match, and Mayday NAILED Crushtron with a Blade Runner onto the chair, setting up for a Swing for the Fences (Running Sliding Elbow) that sealed the match, meaning Crushtron is barred from ringside for the rematch between CeO and Mayday. After the match, CeO got into the ring and beat down Mayday with the chair, but surprisingly, Crushtron didn't join in, sliding out of the ring and walking to the back. 19:58, 98%.

WEEKLY ROUND-UP: SHTCWA JUNE 13TH FALLOUT, INJURY UPDATES, FUTURE PLANS... via dirtsheetdaily.com
THE WORST FEARED FOR CJ FRESH: OUT AT LEAST 6-8 WEEKS, MAY BE LONGER
In what can only be described as a freak accident, CJ Fresh broke his arm only a few minutes into a hotly-anticipated rematch with Marcel Müller. The match started out with the two competitors feeling one another out and everything seemed to be fine. Müller reversed an armwringer into one of his own, then rolled through, and grounded Fresh. He started to lock in an armlock, and that's when it all went wrong for Fresh. Fresh immediately yelped in pain and Müller released the hold. Fancam footage that has since been deleted zoomed in on Fresh's arm, and it most definitely looked like it wasn't bent the right way from the elbow down. Müller looked visibly shook as officials helped Fresh to the back, his arm dangling limply at his side.
Fresh was taken to the hospital as Müller was left to stall for time. CeO and Crushtron 3000 were rushed out from the back, assaulting Müller before Mayday Malone came in for the save, and they started the main event between Malone and Crushtron 3000.
Word is that, unfortunately, the break is about as bad as you can get, and Fresh will be out for at least the next 6 weeks, possibly 8, and maybe even 12 for his arm to fully heal. He'll be receiving results from an MRI in the coming days, but early signs say it isn't looking great. Even if results are as positive as they can possibly be, SHTCWA officials stated that they will keep Fresh out of action for at least the next month to give him time to properly heal. That means, unfortunately, that Fresh will miss out on the first cross-promotion Special Event between SHTCWA and PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. scheduled for July 4th. Fresh was also apparently in talks with other outside promotions to book appearances, but at least for the next little while, that's off the cards until he's fully healed. DONNELLY WENT "OFF-SCRIPT", SUSPENDED WITHOUT PAY UNTIL JULY 4THIn another rematch, Fyfe Donnelly faced off against Johnny Throwback, and the match started off seemingly fine, and normal, with both men trading submission holds and hard-hitting strikes; nothing too out of the ordinary for the two hard-hitting, World of Sport-influenced submission experts. But as the match kept going, Donnelly started to take control, and seemed to be teeing off on Throwback. Throwback hit a few "receipts", especially as the match spilled to the outside of the ring and Donnelly cracked Throwback over the skull with a VICIOUS looking chairshot, then repeated the spot again. From that point on, things devolved, and it seemed that Donnelly was hellbent on simply injuring Throwback, locking in submission move after submission move, and finally, locking in an armbar that he simply wouldn't relent on until the ref had to literally force Donnelly to let go of. Instead of letting Throwback get up, Donnelly locked the armbar on again immediately, and Throwback had to tap out. Donnelly quickly rolled out of the ring before the ref could even lift his hand and stormed off to the back amidst a chorus of boos. This seemed to be "shoot" until SHTCWA responded to the controversy on Twitter with this: It's hard to say if this started off as legit beef between the two, bleeding into a "shoot" of sorts in the ring, or if it was a "worked shoot" all along but needless to say, SHTCWA is taking full advantage of it now, scheduling for a rematch between the two at the July 4th cross-promotion show. This also seems like it might begin the start of a face turn for Throwback. MILKSHAKE JONES NOT HAPPY IN SHTCWA; MAY LEAVE?
Milkshake Jones, the one-time comedy mid-carder in SHTCWA who seemed poised to move up the card just before the promotion fizzled out, seems to be unhappy in SHTCWA at the moment, if a radio interview is anything to go by. The 30-minute interview was your pretty standard fare, covering the origin of the character, his time before wrestling, and his work in the indies after SHTCWA first originally lost funding. Things took a turn, though, when Jones was asked about where he saw SHTCWA going in the future. Jones started to pivot the question into where he saw his future with SHTCWA. He said:
EL HIJO DEL 8-BIT IS NEW LUCHA CROWN CHAMP, CHALLENGES "ANYONE AND EVERYONE" IN PROMOAfter the LUCHA CROWN RUMBLE to open the SHTCWA June 13th show, El Hijo del 8-Bit, coming from the #10 slot went the rest of the way, tossing El Gringo Fantastico out of the ring to become the new LUCHA CROWN holder in SHTCWA. Immeditdately, 8-Bit, after donning a massive golden crown got on the mic, and said: SHTCWA then made it official, stating on its website, and its Twitter, that anyone from around the world of lucha is welcome to come to SHTCWA and challenge for the LUCHA CROWN. At the moment, the challenge is still open.

God-damned life lololol. So, my oven shit the bed the other day, and my landlord is getting someone in to fix it today. As much as, yes, I'd like to delay, my landlord is unreliable as hell, and I kinda need to just take what I can get.
My landlord hasn't specified when someone is coming by. Just "after lunch." So, that might be, like... tonight, or it might be this afternoon. I also dunno how long it's gonna take. So MIGHT be able to stream tonight. Might have to push it until tomorrow night. We'll see. I'm really sorry that these last two weeks I haven't been able to stick to a consistent schedule.
Edit: Holy shitttttt lololol. Okay, so, guy is coming in to fix everything tonight. Because apparently 7:00 means "after lunch." ALSO, my god-damned mic arm just fully busted. Loose as hell, just won't stay together. I luckily enough ordered a new mic arm, but that's not getting here until Wednesday. I will TRY my best to stream Tuesday evening, but if the mic arm is just a complete PoS, I'll have to push it until Wednesday. Sorry, again. Shit's just kinda outta my control, though.

PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. EP. I (JUNE 21ST, 2022) PUTS ON A SOLID SHOW, #1 CONTENDER VS. ELLA-MAE CARTER DECIDED
via dirtsheetdaily.com
WATCH THE SHOW HERE:
QUICK RESULTS:
Unicorn Ultra defeats Orange Pekoe via Moonsault Foot Stomp into a Standing Moonsault. 15:11, 85%/3.5 Stars. The Excellent Blondes defeat the Yamadas via Armlock (Beth Excellent taps out May Yamada). 23:45, 87%/3.5 Stars. PASSION Kamiya defeats Kilby Blackburn via High Fly Flow. 14:56, 82%/3 Stars. Luna LaCroix defeats Tara Morgan via Crucifix Powerbomb. 18:39. 93%/4 Stars. KANAKO defeats Kasumi Kuramoto via Falling Lariat. 11:30. 82%/3 Stars. Elle Llewellyn defeats Laguna Le Mans via Last of the Dragon. 17:53. 91%. 4 Stars. Bonus Match: Ai Amaya defeats Odette Okoye via Azumi Sushi. 18:59. 94%. 4 Stars. RIPLEY defeats Megumi Ono via Tigerdriver '91. 15:34. 84%/3 Stars. Gemma Galloway Wins 8-Person Battle Royale in 25:55. 89%/4 Stars. DETAILED RESULTS:Unicorn Ultra Topples Orange Pekoe In a Solid Opener: The match started off relatively tame, with the two masked joshis seemingly out with a point to prove: to simply win over the crowd. And fair point to them: they definitely did. Unicorn Ultra has a gimmick that can get over with the most hardened fan, and Orange Pekoe proved herself to be surprisingly strike-happy, absolutely pummelling Unicorn Ultra with a flurry of chop-based attacks. Unicorn Ultra then stepped it up into a next gear in the finishing flurry, landing a string of amazing attacks that culminated in a HUGE shotgun dropkick and an unfortunate whiffed attack. None the less, it was a really fun rush to the finish, and Unicorn Ultra got the won with a huge Moonsault Foot Stomp into a Standing Moonsault. Really good way to open the night for these two, and they've put themselves on the map. They may not be future world champs, but they've solidified themselves as solid, fun joshis to watch who will hopefully get future chances not only in PURORESU H.E.A.R.T., but outside of the promotion as well. Questions Arise About May Yamada as The Excellent Blondes Secure a Win in a Solid, Chaotic Match:
This match was really solid, and paced well, with both teams able to showcase what they did well; the team of "The Atomic Blonde" Regan O'Reilly and "The Beth in the World" Beth Excellent showcased their submission skills and underhanded tactics with quick tags whilst the mother-daughter team of the Yamadas showed off their hard-hitting, no-nonsense, elbow-heavy offense. Smartly, the Yamadas tagged efficiently and quickly as well to not only let everyone get in their spots, but also, one has to assume, to let Yumi Yamada not over-exert herself too much considering her age.
The match then at some point just devolved into absolute bedlam with May Yamada and Regan O'Reilly on the outside as Yumi had Beth in a submission on the inside. The match got Tomas-approved with a surprising light tube attack from May, which got a mixed reaction, and then, there were stereo suplexes on the inside and outside from the Yamadas, which was a highlight of the match for sure, along with O'Reilly kicking out of May Yamada's Sternness Dust finishing move.
Order was restored again as May slid back into the ring as the legal competitor, and, soon enough, Beth Excellent locked in an armlock right in the middle of the ring and Yumi Yamada wasn't fast enough to save her daughter from tapping out. This match was really good, but it wasn't great; it seemd to end just as it was getting into the final stretch and ready to step it up into the next gear. You've also gotta wonder what May Yamada, the "Future of Joshi" is doing having now lost her first two matches in PURORESU H.E.A.R.T.; first against her own mother and now teaming with her. PASSION Kamiya Topples Blackburn in a middle-of-the-road match:
Credit where credit is due: These two relative unknowns had an alright match, but, arguably, they couldn't exactly get into a proper groove with one another. PASSION Kamiya showed off her skills well, going to town on Kilby with fancy roll-ups and kneebar attempts, and once Kilby fought off that initial flurry, the match settled into a good pace in which Blackburn was also able to get her licks in, but unfortunately the combined inexperience of the two was apparent; they just couldn't quite find a way to trade off momentum effectively and fully showcase each other's skills. It seemed Kilby was constantly on the backfoot towards the end of the match, and it didn't quite jive with the fact that it seemed Kilby was supposed to be the heel. PASSION needs to work on her pacing, and slowing things down a bit. Overall, a good match, but undoubtedly as the two grow, they'll have better. Luna LaCroix and Tara Morgan go to war; have MOTN:
Both "The Hot Topic" Luna LaCroix and "The Queen of Amarillo" Tara Morgan came into this match seeming not only pissed off, but like they had something to prove; that they were being overlooked early on in the life of PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. And with this match tonight, undoubtedly, their stocks have both risen through the roof. The two missed out on the PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. World Championship tournament, losing in the Battle Royale for the final spot, and this was their first opportunity to properly compete. They put it all on the line, no doubt. The match started out with the two trading blows, and Morgan getting the better of LaCroix with hard, Texas-style punches, and LaCroix answering back with no-nonsense headbutts. She kept going for suplexes, and Morgan just kept blocking over and over and over again as the match went on. Soon enough, the match just devolved into an all-out slugfest, and Morgan seemed to have it won with a HUGE Stump Pulling Piledriver, only for LaCroix to kick out. A bat was then brought into the ring after the match spilled to the outside, and LaCroix was busted open hard-way with Morgan just teeing off on her with grounded punches to the face. LaCroix got her revenge, harkening back to her HORRORSHOW WRESTLING days with fork stabs and a scythe attack, only for Morgan to fire back with Texas-style punches and the two just trading off bombs in an incredible display of Fighting Spirit. Finally, LaCroix hit a HUGE Crucifix Powerbomb to steal the win as it seemed Morgan was building her momentum to a win. This was easily MOTN in a pretty solid night of wrestling, and these two went hell-for-leather from the minute the bell rang. Fantastic, fantastic match. KANAKO Establishes Dominance Again via glorified squash match. This match was a bit of a strange one, and a very, very short one. After her outing in the PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. World Championship tournament, questions were justifiably raised about KANAKO's spot on the card, and her conditioning. She's undoubtedly one of the legends of Joshi; a monster who ran roughshod over Japan and North American promotions alike in the mid-to-late-90s and throughout the early to mid-2000s as well before time caught up with her, her knees gave out, and she stepped back a bit. One critique of KANAKO had always been her conditioning, but generally, when she was at her best, bookers knew how to work around that and keep her matches short before she "got serious", got into better shape, and started to really excel as a monster heel that could also put on solid, long matches. Again: Unfortunately time caught up with KANAKO and her body couldn't keep up with her anymore and in the last 10-15 years or so, arguably, she has fallen back on old habits. Granted: she's been used mostly as an attraction of sorts, so that seems to be okay. This just felt a bit odd, though, this match: KANAKO seemed to be poised to be maybe towards the lower end of the card given how the tournament positioned her, but in this match, aside from an opening flurry from Kuramoto, KANAKO absolutely dominated. This was really just a squash match. What made it not exactly work, unfortunately, was KANAKO's over-reliance on her bread and butter: her multiple lariat sequence. And she just doesn't quite have the stamina to pull it off. It works when she teases it and misses because the opponent gets out of the way, but she just went to the well too many times and simply missed one time due to poor conditioning. Credit where it is due: Kasumi took a Tower Hackerbomb on the outside which looked NASTY, and she bumped her ass off for KANAKO. She seemed shaken up, but hopefully the move on the outside was just a stinger. Rookies Llewlleyn and Le Mans Impress in Fast-Paced MOTN Candidate:After Luna LaCroix and Tara Morgan stole the show, these two didn't want to be outdone, and fair play to them: they weren't. A lot of praise has been thrown the way of "Dragonheart" Elle Llewellyn; trained by Will Craddock and the legendary Bobby Donnelly, arguably, Llewellyn might be the WRSTL Academy's prospect with the biggest upside when all is said and done. As much as a lot of people rightfully tout Diarmaid Farraday as someone with incredible potential, honestly, Llewellyn might have just as much potential, if not more, as well as more talent right now. It wouldn't surprise me if Llewellyn isn't a future PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. champion sooner rather than later.
And credit where credit is due: Laguna Le Mans, a former open-wheel racing prospect turned Cirque-de-Soleil performer turned professional wrestler was no slouch either. She matched Llewellyn blow-for-blow in this face patched match. The two started off trading holds and counters in an excellent little flurry of one-upsmanship. The two just kept working well together, finding a great, fast-paced rhythm where Llewellyn got to show off her technical skills mixed with her striking ability and Le Mans got to show off her incredible speed and agility.
And then, then, the finish: It maybe came a bit too fast, but, honestly, I liked it: Llewellyn absolutely PLANTED Le Mans with the Last of the Dragon after the two worked towards what felt like a logical end, and ended the match at a solid time without it feeling like it was dragging. The definitive end to the match also puts over Llewellyn's finisher as a world-beater. It was a great match, and the future looks bright for these two. Bonus Match: "The J-Pop Superstar" Ai Amaya Defeats "The Fresh Warrior" Odette Okoye in another MOTN candidate:
Much of the PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. roster is unproven and unknown, and what's so exciting in these fledgling weeks and months of this new promotion is seeing the hunger in these young women's eyes; they want to earn their spot and prove how good they are. And that's what this amazing bonus match was: two relative unknowns going out there with nothing to lose and everything to prove. And credit to both of them: they put on a really great match. Ai Amaya might be well-known to J-Pop fans. She is a former idol who realized she loved pro wrestling more than she did the idol life, and gave up relative fame and fortune to wrestle. More than that: she didn't wanna any shortcuts. She wanted to start from the very bottom, and work her way up. And Odette Okoye is a WRSTL Academy prospect who's been thrust into the PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. roster with very little training. She could also easily coast on the fact that she has the sway of CJ Fresh, her partner and trainer, on her side. But she wants to make a name for herself, by herself. These two young women simply put on a fantastic, classic wrestling match: they hit each other with everything they had, and kept kicking out over and over and over, looking like a million bucks doing it. What I really loved was how this match evolved: Ai, the slightly more experienced of the two, took control of the match, and paced it well, whilst Odette looked fantastic not only with some huge kick combinations, but just kicking out of EVERYTHING. The match did a great job in showcasing that Ai, despite her diminuitive size, and her appearance, can absolutely go, and hit opponents VERY hard, whilst Odette undoubtedly has the vibe of an incredible underdog babyface who can eat a lot of punishment. Both competitors came out of this match looking great, and it was made all the better for being a bonus match added last minute. These two had something to prove, and they proved it tonight. RIPLEY gets revenge in serviceable match:
This match was good, but not great, and it especially suffered after coming off the heels off of two absolutely FANTASTIC matches. Rumours had RIPLEY pegged as arguably the biggest gaijin in PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. outside of Mayday Malone, and then things seemingly fell apart for her when Megumi Ono beat her in controversial fashion in the PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. World Championship tournament. In a way, though, it was good to see RIPLEY falter, to see her as human. But this maybe swung a bit too much in the other direction: this was domination.
Ono looked alright, and credit to her, she looked tough, and she looked ready to throw down: she has the appearance of someone who may not be ready to throw bombs, but with how wildly Ono was swinning her elbows, she is someone to be feared with how well she can strike. RIPLEY was simply better, though, and she at some point just simply stepped into another gear and decimated Ono before getting into a final sequence of a trio of Coup de Graces, then a BLISTERING Rolling Elbow to the back of Ono's head when Ono was on her knees, then a Tiger Driver '91 to really stamp her win in a definitive way. It sends a statement, no doubt, and when it comes to establishing RIPLEY as a force, it works, but the match maybe could have been a bit more even. Hopefully these two meet again, because there is a great, hard-hitting match between them. They just haven't exactly hit their stride together yet. MAIN EVENT: "Motherwell's Own" Gemma Galloway Wins Battle Royale; to face Ella-Mae Carter for #1 Contendership:
It's hard, of course, to report a battle royale; the very nature of them is absolute chaos. Some highlights include GoGo Tanaka, one of the semi-finalists of the World Championship tournament not only being eliminated first, but being eliminated very early. I wouldn't read too much into it beyond simply wanting to get a shocking first elimination out of the way. Sabine Starkiller looked solid, absolutely nailing people lift, right, and centre, with knees, but probably should have stayed in a bit longer. Speaking of knees: Sachiko Sonoda looked like a million bucks, nailing people with Kamigoyes left, right, and centre. Rhiannon Ramsay looked like a crafty, conniving heel, and Saoirse Donnelly continues to impress, getting over her Deep Impact DDT in a big way. Gemma Galloway is a good choice for a winner if it wasn't going to be Sonoda to set up a rematch between her and Ella-Mae Carter, and it ought to be a really interesting, hard-hitting fight between two big hosses on July 4th when Galloway and Carter clash for the #1 Contendership. MONDAY, JUNE 27TH RESULTS FOR SHTCWA EPISODE II
via dirtsheetdaily.com
El Gringo Fantastico Defeats Mtn Dewchador at 16:50 via Giant Press. 85%/3.5 Stars:
This was a pretty solid match, and a fun way to open the show, with the Mtn Dewchador and El Gringo Fantastico both playing their parts of the plucky tecnico and the underhanded rudo effectively. Mtn Dewchador constantly tried to up the pace, whilst Fantastico was smart to slow it down and grind Mtn Dewchador down, also employing underhanded tactics and going for FIVE separate junk-centred attacks. The Mtn Dewchador looked to have it won when he spit Mtn Dew into Fantastico's face, but Fantastico somehow miraculously kicked out and hit the Giant Press for the surprise win.Fantasma Azul Defeats Flash the Mighty at 22:28 via Taichi Style Gedo Clutch. 88%/3.5 Stars:
Another good lucha match in a show pretty full of them. Much like the last match, both luchas played their parts well, and this a solid way to build towards the lucha showcase match next week when Flash the Mighty, Alouette, and a mystery partner will take on Fantasma Azul and the Manliest Luchas. It was a solidly competitive match with both luchas kicking out of big moves and trading momentum until finally Azul took it with another underhanded move; a junk-kick right into a roll-up pin that Flash simply couldn't wriggle out of.
The Beat-Alls Defeat Song-Jae Sun and Diarmaid Farraday at 22:58 via The Octopus's Garden (Bat-Hanging Lock. 88%/3.5 Stars:
Leading up to The Beat-Alls open challenge at the SHTCWA x PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. supershow next week, you'd think they'd have it easy against the rookie team of Song-Jae Sun and Diarmaid Farraday, but this match did really well to showcase that these two WRSTL Academy standouts can absolutely hang with anyone. Farraday matched John Pepper's submissions and technical prowess move-for-move, step-for-step, and Song-Jae Sun stepped up to George Eggman and matched his power, even lifting the big man several times.
Overall, it was a solid, if a bit chaotic match, and Pepper kept working over the rookies' arms until he finally made Song-Jae Sun tap before Farraday even had a chance to break it up. The Beat-Alls look good ahead of next week with the win, but the rookies pushed them to the limit, and they look very strong in defeat. The Manliest Luchas and The Pyro Luchas (El Hijo & El Hija Del Pyro) Go to a 30-Minute Time Limit Draw. 90%/4 Stars:
From other reports I've seen around the internet, a lot of people liked this match, but to be honest, I don't think it worked out as planned. There was just a lot of miscommunication, and this was probably an instance of SHTCWA's rather lax rules around second interference and how long partners can stay in the ring. This was essentially just an assortment of spots without any real psychology or urgency towards the end of the match as the 30-minute time limit drew near. There also seemed to be some kind of technical error, as usually the PA system chimes in with how much time has ellapsed in the match, and how much time is left as we get to the closing moments, but it didn't seem to be working. That said, the ref should have communicated to the two teams to bring it home, and they didn't.
It was an okay match, but it could have been much better. Buddy Morgan w/ Beau Jangles Defeats "The Sexiest of All-Time" Valentine Williams via Wet Willy Camel Clutch at 14:02. 88%/3.5 Stars:
This was a surprisingly good match. It started out with a whole lot of shtick, with Buddy gyrating his hips, and Valentine showing off his STRIATION and VASCULARITY. But at some point, after an errant headbutt split Williams open hard-way, it started to get intense. Buddy Morgan showed off some surprising technical skills with some huge bridging suplexes that Williams got out of, and Williams came back with hard-hitting lariats of his own. Morgan absolutely PLANTED Williams with a tights-stuffing piledriver, then eventually set up for the Wet Willy Camel Clutch, and Williams had to submit, as it was simply too gross to keep going. Fun, solid midcard match.
Beef McHugeBulk Defeats Milkshake Jones via Running Hip Attack/Stomping Sexy Pose at 23:33. 100%/5 Stars:
Milkshake Jones comes into this match on a HUGE losing streak, having lost to CJ Fresh in the SHTCWA World Championship tournament, Valentine Williams in a shocker, and tonight, he simply couldn't get it done, unfortunately.
This match arguably dragged a bit and could have maybe been cut down by about 5 minutes, but these two both work a slower pace, to be fair, and the story it told was a good one. For large stretches of the match, Milkshake dominated, and honestly, should have had the match one, but his showboating got the better of him, and Beef started to really bring the heat before finally putting Milkshake down for the three-count and continuing his losing streak.
(Yes I even checked prios after the match lolololol he just doesn't wanna win.)
Rutger Baas Defeats Darien Diamond w/ Darrik Davies Via Spear at 13:31. 91%/4 Stars:
This was a fun match, and Rutger Baas, the absolute MONSTER out of Amsterdam looked like a million bucks in his debut vs. "Diamond in the Rough" Darien Diamond. From the first second, Rutger was just flattening Diamond with stiff elbow strikes and chops. Credit to Darien, though: he kept getting up, and he got a handful of close near-falls with his perfectly executed Diamond Cutter.
Rutger, though, finally put Diamond away when he hit an impressive military press into a driving spear that then set up ANOTHER spear, knocking Diamond clean out of his damned boots. This was a sprint of a match, but it was a good contrast to the last match, and Diamond still looked good in defeat, getting some close-falls on the new hoss in SHTCWA's ranks. CeO and Mayday Malone Have a War of Words:
This was a really solid way to build towards next week, with CeO claiming that without him, SHTCWA, and the World Championship wouldn't exist, and insinuating that it's not just personal because Mayday "embarrassed" him some three years ago, but Mayday is an embarrassment as a champion, and he needs to step in to make his "investment" worth it.
Seemingly nothing was taboo, as CeO had some HARSH lines about Will Craddock and their ex, Nikki Knux, and those got some HUGE reactions from the crowd. He also got some cheap heat, referring to them as "virgins", but it worked. And Mayday played her part well, saying the Championship wasn't hers, but it was the fans. She also pointed out that whilst her, and many others stayed with SHTCWA and committed to it, CeO "ran" the first chance he could, on multiple occasions. Mayday was more than fine in this promo, but CeO really carried it, as he ought to have. All in all, it was an explosive face-off to really build some animosity for next week's cage match.
MAIN EVENT: Johnny Throwback Defeats Marcel Müller via Ground Octopus Hold at 19:34. 97%, 4.5 Stars:
This was an absolutely fantastic, hard-hitting main event. It was all to play for, as Throwback wanted a good showing before his grudge match with Fyfe Donnelly next week, and if Müller won, he would be added to the match to make it a triple threat. Both competitors knew each other well, because they're so similar in styles, and Marcel was going for the end early, swinging wildly with his DAS BOOT Two-Step Pump Kick. Meanwhile, Johnny smartly worked all of Müller's limbs, and countered Müller's multiple armbar and armlock attempts until Müller finally started working the arms and locking them in.
The match flowed well into just an absolute sprint towards the end, with both men trading Deadlift Germans for near-falls, hitting HUGE release Germans in a game of one-upsmanship, and Johnny hitting a rare, HUGE top rope diving crossbody to the outside.
The match came to its ferocious end when Marcel hit an absolutely insane TRIPLE DAS BOOT; three step-kicks in a row, but he didn't seal the deal, and it cost him, as Throwback desperately locked in the Grounded Octopus Hold, a move he'd tried several times, but Müller had slipped out of. Away from the ropes, Müller simply couldn't wriggle out of it the final time, and had to submit, meaning he won't be added to the match with Fyfe Donnelly, and Throwback goes into next week with some much-needed momentum after a hard-fought war. Given how great the match was, though, one has to assume this isn't the last time we'll see these two square off.
That's all for tonight! A relatively solid, but not amazing night of wrestling capped off by a really good main event, and some solid promo work to really build up hype for next week's main event between Mayday Malone and CeO. See you next week, as SHTCWA and PURORESU H.E.A.R.T. combine for their first supershow!
