vocaroo.com/i/s0z2wzuEej7MBecause typing just couldn't do this justice. Enjoy my comical voice speaking about this mess with a very (forced) brazillian accented english, sounding like Wanderley Silva giving a interview. Yes its meant to be satirical. No i don't actually speak this way.

I mean, I'm assuming that Matsumoto isn't the decision maker behind all of these choices. But sure, direct all the hate towards him as Spike planned it by making him the only face available to communicate with the community. If I recall correctly, he was also the person responsible for writing the story? So, shitty story dialogue aside, I wouldn't put too much blame on him personally. I mean, he got slapped with a shitty, hodgepodge team and no real resources for the game. It sucks because he genuinely loves the series and wanted to do it justice. If anything, his folly was getting excited about the New Japan deal and over-promising with it knowing that they just didn't have the resources to make this happen across multiple platforms. I'm still curious how this works because they didn't just promise us, the consumers, that the NJPW DLC would be released on PC, but also New Japan as a part of this partnership. These delays have nothing to do with the game being unstable on PC or any problems with the platform at all, it's all issues with the PS4 version. We don't have sales figures, do we? Because I'd hazard a wager that most of the sales in the US were to people who already owned the PC version, perhaps even bought multiple copies on PS4 (Japanese and US). This sort of feels like they're ignoring what could be their bigger userbase to fix things that they can't really fix without investing more money into them. Also note that the PC community didn't bring out the pitchforks and torches when online mode was never fixed? We just dealt with it. Apparently PS4 users aren't that forgiving (not that they should have to be for broken features). To me this has always been about trying to please the Japanese customers. The New Japan deal, porting to PS4- and sticking with that console- is a direct play at trying to win over that consumer base. They've been the harshest critics of the game, and it just looks like they are prioritizing that over everything else. I'm not sure it even matters if PC outsold, or is the more loyal user base. Maybe (probably) its a fools errand, but I get the motivation. At this point their best course of action is to be upfront. People won't like it, but at least everyone is on the same page. "PC DLC is coming eventually, but we're charged with stabilizing the PS4 version first. When that's done, we'll update everyone on a new timeline." Throwing out dates only seems to fire people up even more (understandably).

Yeah, I can understand focusing on Japan, but it shows a disregard of the sales for Fire Pro Returns. Fire Pro Returns sold more copies in the US than it did in Japan. The Agetec version just did better, period.

Nobody is telling you that you can't be happy that you got the game. Im pretty sure this thread has a summed up 'you shouldnt be content and should demand more' vibe. Thats basically telling me I shouldnt be happy that I got the game.

The worst of it Lanky. is that porting the stuff to pc isn't exactly a gruelling ordeal, its not even like we're asking them to do much , just port the stuff ps4 players already got .
It would be like if they didn't got the Takayama dlc, actually wanted that and got reapeatdly shot down with "We will deliver when we feel like it".
Thats exactly how the scenery is painted right now.
Its like walking your dog out because it wants to, but you just won't do it.
You should demand more right now cause you're being jerked like a dog in a collar chain.
Thats what we're actually trying to say.
Also dog metaphors.

Thats basically telling me I shouldnt be happy that I got the game. I mean, you can be happy with the base product while demanding that Spike be more forthright with news on the additional content. Also, there are a handful of people who crop up whenever dissatisfaction is being voiced just to tell everyone "not to complain, and be thankful that you even have a new Fire Pro game", it's really aimed towards them. It's possible to be happy with a new Fire Pro while being discontent with the way Spike has handled news of the additional features. That's assuming you're interested in the additional features at all.

The Agetec version just did better, period. to be fair... the Japanese wrestling scene was, in a word, dog shit, and it's possible that played into Returns' sales. 2005 is right about at the point where things REALLY started going downhill for NJPW before Tanahashi became the company's ace. It was a time in which the cracks started showing in NOAH, and in general wrestling was old hat compared to MMA. I guess the thought process is that, now that wrestling's becoming popular in Japan again, Firepro has a better chance of performing well there, hence the PS4 release.

Has there even been an official statement released by Spike or are we just speculating based off what Matsumoto said?
Granted, the wait has been long and people are getting impatient. However, I can't really formulate an opinion on this until Spike spills the beans. We are still in the month of September after all.

Thats basically telling me I shouldnt be happy that I got the game. I don't know you very well, so I don't want to be out of hand or anything, but that's sort of on you if you're feeling like that's the message being projected and specifically on you. People are allowed to be frustrated that a game they love is being toyed with and for their disdain for people who see this frustration and always feel the need to interject "Well I'm happy!" is sort of rubbing salt in the wound. Once again, nobody is telling you not to be happy that Fire Pro World exists at all. Nobody is telling you to feel anything, just venting their frustrations that people feel the need to interject stuff like that for no good reason.

No announcements yet, we're just talking over his tweets, and since it comes from his mouth and he's the director, we're taking the route that the next announcement they make won't be a chipper one.
But nothing official yet.

AFAIK, we're speculating based on what Matsumoto said - and what he said was in part influenced by Taichi tweeting his dissatisfaction as a gamer. I would take it as a confirmation that the September estimate will be missed, though. :/

Its not a matter of complexity, its a matter of priority. They have a small team, and the priority is fixing PS4. People can be mad at getting dusted for a different user base, but I think its weird that people are assuming people are lazy or intentionally holding back content. They made this decision a while ago- go after the Japan market (who doesn't play PC games) and try and make the game a success locally. It has not been a smooth decision, and the game has had issues. They're going to continue to focus on their local market before we get anything- that's the reality regardless of whether that makes financial sense or not.
For the record, I'm NOT defending the decision. But I'm resolved that this is where we're at, and I'm past getting mad at anyone.
