I can't find a PS4 PDF manual but this one is good enough.
I hope the PS4 version allows mods one day. I want to have a 30 man rumble.
This wonderful person posted all three members of Demolition Ax,Smash and Crush!
It will never allow for mods. You could petition Spike to add something like a 30+ wrestler rumble though.

I am honestly really surprised that Sony is allowing for custom textures and eventually music. I thought they had pretty strict rules about allowing user generated content in games.

Why not? Sony allowed mods for Skyrim on PS4, they just had Bethesda filter out what fits in with their ToS. Same deal could be reached with Spike, no?

Did I miss custom textures getting mentioned on PS4?
Also music isnt a new thing, it's just usually a problem when you start being able to upload that content. You cant upload themes on the PC, so it's damn sure getting that same treatment on PS4.

Sharefactory on PS4 has had custom music import since 2015

Custom music has been a thing on PS4 since 2015 Oh really? I thought there was no custom music allowed. I thought that is why there was no more custom music in games like NHL where you could use your own crowd chants, goal horns, etc and they removed them for the PS4. EDIT: Huh.. looks like you can do it in the MLB series. I had no idea. Now I hate EA even more.

Fire pro mods are not secure. They alter base game code in a way that gives them total access to anything that a regular developer could do. Sony will NEVER open the door that allows for regular users to run code on their console that isn't proprietary to the game it is running in. Bethesda mods for Skyrim use papyrus, which allows Bethesda to have total control over what modders can access and do.

The same way you import in mlb is the same way you import in sharefactory. They have limits but they attach to the application data. And yeah doing it in mlb the show has been doable since the show 17 I think

You can put themes on PC. I literally never said you couldnt. I said you cannot UPLOAD them. I cant upload my edit with the theme attached. Also Sharefactory has nothing to do with directly using music in specific instances only within a game, such as entrance songs here, or character themes in Super Robot Wars, etc.

So what's the real take on the chances of Steam Edits being usable on the PS4 version someday? Is it basically impossible, or is it something that could happen if Spike would just come up with a way of doing it? Or would Sony be totally against allowing something like that?

Matsumoto said they were looking into a potential code-style transfer, but wasnt sure if it'd be completed. And, really, it's not like templates would be insanely difficult to manage. The only true loss is potentially consistent updates from the creator.

I am glad they are at least opening up for custom audio tracks and the like. Perhaps a mode to edit arenas is the only thing I'd really, really like to see added that is currently only available via mods.
