The story does branch out. I lost the Young Lions Cup on purpose and didn't go on my excursion right away. I ahve a question if you don't mind! How is the Young Lions Cup done? Is it league round robin or a knockout tournament? |

I just did the Super Strong Machine match where I had to hit 16 specials and one Finisher. I hit 2 finishers and had to do it all over again. I literally did 16 piledrivers in a row, one finish, and had to wear him down with sleeper holds until I got the tap out. Basically...this story mode is fucking dreadful so far. Looks like a roundabout method of teaching players that not every signature needs to be a big move. Which is important to note, since most players only save their signature slots for big moves, and not necessarily early or mid-match moves that transition into the later stages. Yes, that's the mentality embedded in people's minds because of the All Japan Four Pillars and stuff. Because AJPW/King's Road is so reliant on building up a large number of moves as potential match enders, for guys from that school of match pacing, their signatures are used for potential match enders instead. It doesn't HAVE to be like that, and for wrestlers from a wrestling style that emphasizes one or two moves as match enders instead, it's better to use signatures for, well, signatures. Moves that come up frequently as means of changing match pacing, moves that SET UP for a finisher, moves that the wrestler just loves to do, etc. |

My Young Lion has a bunch of stretches, a standing punch and a lariat as a finish. It allows for a bit more dynamism in the matches and, especially early on, helps out when you've got shit stats. Although CHAOS and LIJ wanted me to do illegal/rough moves early on and I definitely failed those challenges. |

A few random thoughts on the game so far:
- The lack of being able to add in music is annoying. I know that will change, but only having three background tracks to choose from during matches is pretty lame.
- Most of the New Japan character models looks awesome, and the new parts are very welcome. Tanahashi and Naito in particular are graphical masterpieces.
- A couple of the models seem questionable. Minoru Suzuki's face looks nothing like his present day self. Is this supposed to be him from 5 or 10 years ago? Juice Robinson also looks a bit off. His attire is nothing like what he currently wears.
- CPU opponents actually do the Okite Yabari (sp?) now during matches. I had Goto pull one out one me as Naito during a match. A true markout momement. I also like the addition of run ins, which can be turned off if desired.
- I tried an online match, and it played pretty laggy. Looks like this hasn't improved a ton from the PC version.
- The new interface is quite slick, and blows away the one currently on Steam.
That's what I can think of for now. I know there are plenty of gripes and things to nit pick, but I'm having as much fun playing this as I ever did with 6MS, G, D, or Returns.

Then it's on to the Juniors, and after that, I'll be remaking the defaults to better mesh with the edits I've released. |

Are we all in agreement that FPW.com is basically unusable at this point? And only gonna get worse until we have a valid search function?
I know how to search using the filters, and its ok for now, but when we get 10k edits on this fucker its gonna be a real pain in the ass to skip through all the AJ styles (re)uploads to find someone
