I have the PC version loaded with WWF 80's wrestlers and many of them are not on PS4 yet. WWF 80's is my favorite time in wrestling.

Although online has its issues, I’m thrilled to be able to play against others and not just sim. I had a fantastic match with Muta and Misawa yesterday, and traded critiques with another player. Just a fantastic addition.

Is there I way of searching for collections on the fpw net ? From what I can tell, only way to search is by the filters. Would be nice to have an actual search bar. While on the topic, anyone know how to follow someone on FPW Net? Do I need to add them to PSN so they show under my Friends Item's?

The story does branch out. I lost the Young Lions Cup on purpose and didn't go on my excursion right away. Does the story get better? Because I couldn't stomach what I played last night. Like I hope my Edit commits suicide at the end of this thing.. I'm only at 3%.

I will later.

If checking on mobile phone (I use Firefox) there's an option to save a shortcut to the page. So like with other apps you tap on that and it takes you to whoever the creator is. For computer I just add the creator's main page with the edits to bookmarks. So unless they integrate a subscribe to/favorite user option this gets the job done for me.

I just did the Super Strong Machine match where I had to hit 16 specials and one Finisher. I hit 2 finishers and had to do it all over again. I literally did 16 piledrivers in a row, one finish, and had to wear him down with sleeper holds until I got the tap out.
Basically...this story mode is fucking dreadful so far.

Just so you know, you don't NEED to beat the mission to continue. On a side note, I couldn't pass that mission. I failed, tried again and counted out loud to 16 as I hit the specials, hit the finisher and didn't pass for some reason, so I just continued on.

The story mode does pick up. The "mission" type matches ("use a lot of rough and illegal moves") quickly go away.

I'm pretty sure that match is there to teach you a game mechanic first and foremost - that using your specialties liberally, but your actual finisher conservatively, will help boost a match's ratings when you get to the main campaign. Not that it's fully necessary, or anything, but it's still a worthwhile mechanic to learn that isn't really explained at all in Mission Mode. But yes, if you fuck up any of the dojo matches, you are still given the option to proceed as if you passed, complete with the experience points and move unlocks you'd get normally.

The matches where I had to use rough and illegal moves was a pain. First time around I kept using the chair since at the time I didn't have rough moves. So they fail me saying I used the chair too much. Then I stocked up on rough moves and focused on them but it said I needed to do illegal stuff like use the chair. So no matter what I couldn't pass it. But it didn't affect anything so I just forgot about it. I did however pass the Super Strong Machine match so who knows how they have this. I still love the story mode though. Where else are you going to see Okada hope that one day you can make it rain together?

Tomoyuki Matsumoto is keenly aware of how horny people are for New Japan's roster and I love it

Looks like a roundabout method of teaching players that not every signature needs to be a big move. Which is important to note, since most players only save their signature slots for big moves, and not necessarily early or mid-match moves that transition into the later stages.

Fun to play this on PS4. Day one edition has the cool little NJPW Info Album. I can only imagine there must be a way to write a program to convert steam edits extracted from the save to the PS4 save or vice versa. Would save a lot of effort in porting and expand the community I imagine. What would have been fantastic would have been a way to upload a file from steam to FPW.net to put a wrestler up without even being in game.
