Raven Brighid (Blue Thunder Pro) vs. Knife Hatchet Crystal Reeves (c)
Before the show's start, Crystal demanded to face Raven and defend her Blood Blossom World Title on the last TSP show. The match itself was great. Raven controlled a good chunk of the match and outclassed Crystal. It seems like Crystal couldn't get her suplex heavy offense into gear. Blood Blossom will be back soon with a solo show soon. Raven will be defending her newly won title against an as-yet-named opponent.
Faaborg vs. Antov Borisyuk (Sakura Pro)
Antov and Faaborg beat the crap out of each other. Faaborg hasn't lost a match since losing the Quad Crown back in November 2020. Antov surprised and shocked the TSP audience by going toe to toe with Faaborg for the entire match before putting him away with a brutal backdrop driver. Antov was confirmed as a future challenger for the Quad Crown World Title.
Montgomery County Big Time World Title retirement match (The title is being retired, not the wrestlers)
Sam Hall (The Officeverse) (c) vs. Kevin Seven
Due to the merger of Montgomery Championship Wrestling and the Alabama portion of Tiger Stripe Pro, there came a need to downsize on titles. A fan vote was called between the MCBTWT and the Southeastern States Memorial title (SSMT). SSMT won by fan vote by 3 and thus became the Deep South Montgomery main title.
Instead of simply recalling the title from Sam Hall and making this angry man from Texas mail us a 20-pound belt, TSP decided to have a final match for the title. Kevin Seven was chosen, making this a Texas vs. Texas match. The two men beat the crap out of each other, and it was fantastic!
Hana Brightly and Teighler Tisdale (Wrestle Parade) vs. Doji O-Ushi and Nagai Sakai (Team Mushroom Power!)
I had no idea this match would be the insanity that it was. The longest match of the night. Both teams were throwing everything they had at each other. Nagai Sakai was extra aggressive against Hana. 50ish minutes of violence. Doji was the most visibly excited to be in this match, often smiling during lockups with Hana and Teighler. The crowd was heavily invested with this match, at one point clapping in unison with a strike exchange. Despite the length, there are moments RNG and taunts perfectly align. Battle of the night for sure.
Robert Flippo vs. El Macho (Warrior Pro/Lucha Power)
Due to timing issues and "travel" issues with El Macho, this match was pushed back to next month's debut show in Osaka, Japan. Robert Flippo left the interview in his car when questioned further about the match.
??? (Mystery) and Gordon Flippo vs. Neptune and Saturn ??? (Mystery) vs. Neptune
Saturn was having car and health issues so had to pull out of this match, thus leading to a singles match. To the sell-out crowd's surprise, Jaeger Flippo returned, albeit slightly bigger than before. Jaeger last wrestled in September 2018. Despite over 3 years away from the ring, Jaeger hasn't lost a step. He was able to put away Neptune following a Spine Bomb. The crowd gave the match a standing ovation afterward. Welcome back, Jaeger. We will have more updates on Jaeger's future as news develops.
Bill Flippo vs. Wataru Nakajima (ZIP Japan)
Despite both being in the wrestling world for a long time, this was a first-time match. Wataru withstood Flippo's arsenal of armlocks and put him away following a Modified Northern Lights Bomb. After the match, the two men shook hands and walked back together.
Deathmatch: Sand Mountain Kings (debut) vs. Mitsuhiro Saiko and
Daisuke Garou Johnny No Cash (Grenade Pro Japan)
Daisuke had some visa issues and thus could not join Saiko in Alabama. Johnny No Cash took his place and did not disappoint. The match was bloody, and the crowd was delighted and disgusted by the violence. Both teams were equally vicious. The crowd seemed to take to Saiko and were pulling for him to take out these North Alabama ruffians. there was some confusion after this match, leading to a protest from Grenade Pro Japan and a counter-protest from the Sand Mountain Kings.
Quad Crown World Title Match
KK Ryu vs. Akira Shinjo (ZIP Japan)
Friendship and teammates meet for the last time in Alabama for the Quad Crown World Title. KK Ryu, from the start, seemed nervous and off his game. On the other hand, Akira seemed ready and eager to get back into the ring. Akira was able to dictate the flow of most of the match, keeping KK from hitting his more significant moves. KK did get some control toward the end of the match with a series of lariats and suplexes. Still, Akira was able to kick out critical pinning situations before putting KK away with a Schoolboy Suplex.
Following the match, KK took the Quad Crown from the ref, gazing at the title he once knew as his. Looking at his long-time friend, he grabbed the title, draped it across Akira's shoulder, and hugged him. KK quickly left the ring, allowing Akira to take in the crowds cheering.
