Ok, you won me over. I will no longer accept mediocrity. What's the plan now, general? Would review bombing the Steam page get Spike's attention? Should we whip the retards at Steam Community into a frenzy? Should we go on Reddit/Twitter/Amazon/etc and let people know that the PS4 version is buggy bullshit they shouldn't buy? Want me to publicly post Dave K's email so people can spam his inbox until he's forced to reply to us? I'm just joking around but I honestly don't know what you're expecting out of posting like that. They're a small team that's in way over their head and they're trying to perform triage with what little resources they have. They aren't 2K or EA. They made bad decisions (hell, reviving Fire Pro was a bad idea) but they can't go back in time and fix them. Nor could they get corporate to give them another 6-9 months to refine the PC version when the PC version wasn't selling. I don't know how you could watch those last couple of spike_chunsoft Twitch streams and think that it was their idea to exit Early Access early or price the DLC the way they did. The time table is set and, from what I can piece together from Japanese interviews, the money pipe is closed unless they see some sort of sign that it's worth putting more money in. Director was able to sweet talk the CEO with all sorts of possibilities to keep this thing going but now reality is setting in. The fact that we're still getting everything - when other developers would have cut & run at the end of Early Access - shows me that they care. Just give it a couple months. You'll have all the time in the world to work on Fire Pro uninterrupted because it will be over outside of a Postal 2: Paradise Lost-esque expansion pack 10+ years from now. (which is one of the reasons I was trying to tell you to think long term) A good start would be letting the executives know (at least) that you're disappointed with how they've handled everything, maybe via Twitter. When the majority of players say "it's okay, take your time" to stuff like this, what do you think the company is going to do? It certainly won't be getting their shit together to try and salvage some of the situation. You don't have to start a witch hunt, review bomb or stalk developers to let them know you're dissatisfied; just tell them know up-front. If the hardcore community was more honest with the state of things (regardless if we're all happy with a new game), maybe it could make a difference on some level. It's possible to criticize the recent decision-making at Spike without it suddenly meaning that you think they're horrible and should be run out of business; that's constructive criticism, which every creator needs to hear.

I'm pretty sure they already know they fucked up. If you follow the Japanese coverage, you would've seen Director posing in front of a giant sign that said something like "Sorry to keep you waiting" at the Super Junior tournament and him talking about the 5ch dragging the shit out of him. I think we can safely say that Spike will stick to anime weeaboo shit from now on.
They can't cut and run, they've already sold season passes...and I'm NOT 100% sure the PC market will get everything...which is why they're hesitant to sell those same passes on this side...because it means more commitment that maybe they don't want because they've already been told to pack it in and there's not sure they can deliver the goods to both branches. That was my point. They could easily cut and run from the PC version. They got nothing to lose at this point. (but I'd bet anything it's the price that's making them hesitant to take preorders. you think people are pissed now? wait until they find out it's a full game price for all the dlc. the third dlc announcement better blow our socks off to counter that)

Announce Inoki. With all the Inokiism I see on Twitter, this game would sell like hot cakes.

Never mind the fact that the BOSJ was long before the PS4 release. It's fine, some people just can't find it in themselves to hold Spike accountable, no matter what they do. Carry on.

What happened to ZOMG? I've just noticed it's not active

What happened to ZOMG? I've just noticed it's not active You mean the current iteration of ZOMG or the original? The current Vermin took down out of respect for this board being the community hub. He started a forum because Hoss asked him to, but Phil had the FPC name, Facebook, etc. Just confusing, so he took it down. If you mean the past? That's long and complicated. This community has built itself up, fractured and built back up again so many times now that it's not even funny. At the time, ZOMG was a board created by Vermin for a group of people in the community that were unhappy with how Fire Pro Club was being run by "HigherPower" (still don't know who the hell that was, seriously) and MrMDK. There was a whole thing where he installed a forum mod to read user's PMs (or at least that was the accusation) and other stuff, so there was a splinter board. Or maybe my timeline is mixed up, who even remembers? Anyway, ZOMG was formed as an alternative and, as you can see from Slugg's reaction, not everyone was happy about it or the fact that SonnyBone and Vermin had a part in the now-legendary "ho-axe" (hoax?! It was an April Fool's joke that got out of hand) of "Fire Pro HD." Some people never got over it. Like, we're talking people bought consoles because of how authentic of an April Fool's joke this was. When Vermin got over running ZOMG because of the bullshit of that forum starting to get more popular he torpedoed it and Sonny started AxeBomber. I'm bummed that Carl feels the need to bail outta here, but get it. People have been unbelievably shitty to him over stuff. As he's said, not always a people person and can come across as abrasive, but I've literally had people come into my Twitch chat, see that there are mods being used, and been told to fuck off because I was using mods. This community has, at times, harbored some downright awful people, or, at least in recent memory, people that like to broadcast their thoughts without much in the way of comprehension of the issues at hand.

Really sad to see you go Carl, your mods made the game so much more interesting. Hope you find your way back to this scene some day.

Wow, so, I’ve just read this entire thread. I’m new to fire pro and own a Mac and a ps4, so in a few hours it will be the first time that I truly get a chance to give this thing a go for an extended period of time. As soon as I realized what this games possibilities were, I threw down a hundred dollars for the season pass. I’m a lifelong wrestling fan, although more mainstream US shit starting around ‘88. If I did this, I’m sure there has to be others as well. From the way I see it, it’s either this game for me or it’s back to 2k, and 2k is garbage. I’ve watched some youtubers like Pulse put together some tournaments and while I’m sure that you guys would probably consider the matches trash, I’ve had a ball watching them. If I have to deal with the vanilla game whilst only being able to add in created wrestlers and rings. I’m 100% ok with it considering the alternative. I think that he game still has potential for growth of revenue and sales and the licensing of NJPW can only help with that given how NJPW is trying to break into the American market. I’d wait on the doom and gloom outlooks for at least a few more months. And I also agree with the person who said that the community is only as strong as it’s members, and what I see here is a passionate group of individuals who are coming here out of a love of both Fire Pro, and pro wrestling as a whole. If i’ve Just found this community, so will others. I’m incredibly excited to begin creating my wrestlers and setting up my own tournaments and shows. I’m as green as can be, but by reading your cpu logic and character creation guides, I won’t be starting out entirely at ground zero, thanks for that! Who knows? Maybe somebody will create some sort of mathematical equation which takes match percentage and size of show and then turns that into cable tv viewership values! Have ourselves some sweet Monday night wars... My point it is, for me this is a beginning. And for you guys, I sincerely hope this doesn’t feel like the end, or even the beginning of the end. Judging by this community, this game has a lot more life left in it than some are giving it credit for. I look forward to being a humble member of this community and can’t wait till a few hours from now! Take care all of you, and cheer up! For every Summerslam Lesnar vs. Reigns, there’s an NXT Giampa vs Gargano ;) Best, Nash

Yeah... There's like one or two very vocal people who have been against the mods for a while now.
Neither are on these forums to my knowledge.

I don't use the mods just because I don't think there's that much wrong with the base game and I'm always worried about messing up the game with mods.
I don't have anything against people who use mods and don't know anything about the modding community on here.
That said I do know that Carl has been doing a lot mod-wise with the mod-suite and all. I also don't know about behind-the-scenes stuff (and I don't want to) but I do know that Carl leaving is a big loss for the community. But I think the Critical Club community will go on because the game is relatively hot and popular now and this site is very visible.
I hope cooler heads prevail in the end. I think it's great that so many leading guys like Phil, Carl, Punk, and the rest are all here. I also hope that Carl is able to move forward being able to make the PC version of FP he wants to see. As a PC user myself I'm a little annoyed by the PS4 move but I do realize this is a complicated business and tech thing. Spike is not just releasing a game, they're trying to make deals and make money.
In the future Marxist utopia Fire Pro will be designed and released for free by the state. But until that day comes we have to live with capitalism
