Still working on Yakuza Kiwami (and Kiwami 2 is available today...), I wish I was one of these gamers able to just blow through a game and ignore side quests, but I can't. I just finished the incredibly odd MesuKing battle card game side quest (rock paper scissors based thing). I kept finding cards scattered around town featuring pictures of girls in very small, very revealing outfits wearing hats that look like the heads of various insects. When you actually battle, usually against a moody toddler in one of the Sega arcades, the scene changes to a fighting arena consisting of a tree stump in a forest, surrounded by beetles of various species and type, and the combatants, girls in swimsuits with bug hats. When the side story is done, Kiryu makes a comment about being happy that such a wholesome, family friendly game existing to help bring kids together as friends or some such thing. This game is strange, but I love it. So I'm often railing on about how I wish microsoft would make JSRF reverse compatible, and a few people at FPA (RIP) mentioned a game called Hover, well, apparently it's on its way to Xbox, PS4, and Switch on the 19th of September. Anyone here play it, and if so, any impressions? It looks pretty awesome.

Forza Horizon 2. I've been driving around with the Dodge Viper in my new profile pic.
I've also been playing TimeSplitters 2 and Future Perfect on my original Xbox since the announcement that Koch Media bought the IP. Something's apparently in the works.

Is the horizon series this generation's need for speed? I used to love nfs but it got dull and need a new racing series to play. Sadly I never tried horizon because I thought the regular Forza games had hard controls

Recently completed Banner Saga 3, which was great.
Tried A Hat in Time, which is kinda cute and has a nice Mario Galaxy vibe to it.
Played a little bit of Cities: Skylines. This game is amazing. I hope to get over the initial intimidation factor and actually continue with it from time to time. I only have the After Dark DLC but I guess I'll get more.
My brother and another friend spent the last weekend over at my place, while wife and son were abroad. This was basically a geek weekend with only games, food and booze. Was pretty fun, we played a ton of Heroes of the Storm but also the SNES Classic, hacked with a bunch of co-op games like Final Fight, Streets of Rage, TMNT IV and even Balloon Pop. Was super fun.
Oh and finally, we also played Overcooked. It's a fantastic local co-op game, which I also recommend playing with your partner :)

Is the horizon series this generation's need for speed? I used to love nfs but it got dull and need a new racing series to play. Sadly I never tried horizon because I thought the regular Forza games had hard controls I didn't play a lot of the older NFS games so I can't really say. But generally the Forza Horizon games are set in open worlds. Gameplay is similar to Forza Motorsport but a bit more forgiving. Designing and tuning are similar to the FM games (except for FH1 and 360 version of FH2 where there's no tuning).
There's a lot to do in Horizon besides racing. There are speed traps where you can set a top speed, then there's speed zones where you set an average speed across a route. Horizon 2 introduced the Horizon Bucket List - a series of challenges which involve speed traps and speed zones, or simply racing to a location. This was expanded with Horizon 3 as you can now make your own Horizon Bucket List challenges.
Also in Horizon 3 there are Drift Zones and Danger Signs, where you drift to gain points, and jump off of ramps to get the longest distance in the air respectively. You can also blueprint your own races and championships. I think in Horizon 4 they're expanding this with the ability to create your own routes, which I think would be awesome. Horizon 4's also introducing seasons that change weekly.
Previous Horizon games had paid token microtransactions that served as a substitute for in-game credits, but while I don't really like any microtransactions at all, I never felt like these got in the way of my enjoyment. Also, paid tokens aren't coming to Horizon 4 at all.

Oh cool I may definitely give that a try. Thanks!

Oh cool I may definitely give that a try. Thanks! Do it, the games are great, and I did play the old NFS games. You won't have police chases and such, but you will have some intense, open world races, stunt jumps, speed traps/zones, races online or against player based bots, garage finds (old classics that turn up as junkers in some shitty old garage that get fixed up into BEASTS!!!), all kind of stuff. The sense of speed, the gorgeous environments and car models, the fun races, the whole package is great if you're a racing game fan. Easily my new favourite, go to racing series, for what that is worth from a complete stranger. :)

I did some modifications on some of my currently unreleased edits on Fire Pro Wrestling World last night and I think it went quite well. One of them had a pretty great match with Dwayne Paine. But for now, I'm back on Forza Horizon 2 and now driving an old R32 I tuned a few years ago for the Costa Sprint track, and I'm doing some time trials on... well, the Costa Sprint.
For the last couple of days I've been stuck trying to beat a Lamborghini. I thought I had it in my last race but I lost by less than 0.1 seconds!
Update: FINALLY beat the Lambo! By over half a second too.

Sweet r32. I don't have an Xbox so I haven't played horizon, but I really liked the 2015 need for speed game and suggest it as it's fun as hell. One game I'm looking at is Asset Corsa. Ever play it? It's on PS4 x box and PC. And the PC has mods. I'm still waiting for Genki to make a new Tokyo Xtreme Racer game. I mean, if Spike made a new Fire Pro, maybe one day they'll make a new txr (that's not mobile) and I can have fun driving the c1 loop again. Man that series was so good.

About 2/3 of the way through Tales of Berseria. I love the Tales games and I haven't really played an RPG in a while. Decent enough. After that, I should start getting really back into Fire Pro Wrestling World and maybe pick up an RPG on the side. Thinking Persona 5 for the fall. I used to love JRPGs, but I just cant get into them anymore. Don't know why. I bought Persona 5 a year ago and have hardly touched it.

Just went back to Mario Oddessy today. I got 630 moons so far. The top 2 or 3 best games Ive played in 10 years. Been playing Yakuza 0 too. What a game! I also been dabbling in various retro games. Got a ton of backlog that I may never get to, but it will be fun trying.

Playing Forza Horizon 3 now. Driving an AE86 on the City Streets Sprint. I've also brought the tuning setups and designs of the R32 and Viper ACR over from Horizon 2 and have been using them too.
