The thing is, Spike knows we are in for the long-haul already. We waited, we hoped, we continued to play. They can get around to the PC patching whenever they want, because, well, we'll be there waiting.
It's a weird situation to be in. A paradox, really, innit? "Thanks for the support, old-timers, thanks for getting us back on our feet, but, we really need new people to play this game, so, like, uh, you'll still be here, right? Of course you will!" They're showing their appreciation by courting new players, so that they can...continue to keep the game alive for...us? Alright, uh, I guess.

If Carl doesn't have the time to update the mod suite then he should hand the development over to somebody who does instead of punishing people for continuing to support the game.

LMAO at people insulting a non WWE product selling out a WWE arena WrestleMania weekend. The weekend doesn't matter, they sold it fucking MSG. M S mother fucking G. That should end the argument right there. It's an accomplishment no matter how you look at it, and why wouldn't it be? And why does it take knocks because of sound financial business planning? People always find a way to throw shade at noon WWE products. Always. /Rant Where did I say that it wasn't an accomplishment? I think that you missed the point. I even said that it was a great strategy.

The lazy bums from Spike have forgotten to change the release date for the NJPW dlc in the steam store. It's still listed to be released in six days and everything. Its like a friggin bad joke. If at least when 28th hits they give us a update on the actual release date i might forgive them, better yet if they let us preorder the thing.
I'm sorry but.. what?
I mean using the modsuite is OUR decision and our decision only, its not like he forced us or anything. please reconsider your stance young fellow.

Just for that, if I don't have time, the mod suite is dead, and anyone caught using using ANY of my code in ANY mod will be banned on the spot.
How about them apples, fuckface?

This is probably a retarded idea but could it be possible to change the wrestler id after its downloaded from the Workshop? Something like that could give us unity regardless of whether the actual edits are the same. (since i imagine the mission mode and fighting road work go off that, right?) But I'd try to avoid burning bridges for the time being. If you told me that active development was continuing past Q1 2019 without another port, I'd be surprised. If active development continues past Q4 2019 regardless of what happens, I'd be flabbergasted. I'm not sure what you mean by "changing the ID..." the issue here is that people who don't update the game won't have access to workshop edits...so anyone choosing to continue to use mods will be entirely unable to download from the workshop, that's why another method is needed. I don't want to burn bridges either, but I can pull of an import/export tool in a few hours over one weekend, and they've basically forced my hand with this delay since I'm able to do it and not going without simply because they can't get their shit together.
I thought mod users just needed to rollback to a non-modded version in September until you can release an update or put Steam into offline mode to continue using mods? IDK I'm just not getting it. A month delay on an update/content you don't want shouldn't be the trigger that causes you to blow up your relationship with Spike.
(I thought the import/export tool was something about getting everybody on the same page in terms of roster. Sorry if I misunderstood)

That seems like an overreaction given that I wasn't advocating for anyone to use your code without permission but okay, man.

It's not the delay, it's time, it's energy, is dishonesty, it's me already getting in touch with them about an upcoming busy schedule and them never mentioning any set back (this was less than a week ago mind you), it's a whole heap of things that made this the way it is. I will continue to do what I do, but I am no longer able to do it withing their framework, so if I have to do things that upset them to get the job done now, it's on them.

I'm fine with overreacting. Don't make stupid suggestions, or at least think before you do. Things that you save have consequences.

I need Carl, right as this very moment, should he have the time, to articulate the main dilemma for me, please. I'm not being facetious, not being snide, nor confrontational, I'm quite simply not very bright.

[ No, the handful of you that act like modders owe you something need to get out. It is a passion project he does in his free time, he can do what he wants with it. And judging by the lack of interest there has been in people looking at his tutorials and learning how to mod, it wouldn't matter anyway.

How is it a stupid suggestion? Is there really not one person you would trust with your code rather than creating a schism in the Fire Pro playerbase?

I already addressed why it's a bad idea in the other thread about this. It creates confusion and multiple builds/branches of the mod suite...all of which I'd end up having to troubleshoot, because if there's one thing I've learned about a majority of the people around these parts it's that they can't read an instruction to save their fucking life.
On top of that, your tone was absolutely accusatory. Plus I've dumped THOUSANDS of hours into this over the last 13 months, it's not something you just "hand over to someone else"...how about you stop acting like you're entitled to both and fucking nut up and make a choice between the two if it's important to you? That's a much more sensible suggestion than me turning over thousands of hours of work because "the community..."

Yet you're not suggesting Spike open source their game, are you?
