I wonder what would trigger such a bug, some memory issue?

The thing is : Had they actually stated that this bug could happen to us as well and they were delaying the release to fix it and prevent a massive outcry, most of the complaints we're levelling here wouldn't exist because we would at least getting some good communication.
Instead of stating what could happen if they rushed the release they simply gave a generic excuse, said they would have it ready by september and ran away, leaving us to wonder what went wrong.
the lack of communication in this case is what hurts the most, really, it wouldn't hurt to be totally upfront and honest with us.

It's alright, the PS4 players can just take the PC approach to protecting themselves from any potential issues. They can just ensure that their save file is backed up, no worries.

That's what happens when you rush something to meet a tight deadline - It comes out with funky bugs, gets bashed in Amazon japan and sidetracks the development of the pc version the one who actually kickstarted your project.

The game is built as a 32bit program, but without mods it uses a pretty minuscule amount of memory, so I don't think it's a memory issue.

To those saying the NJPW DLC is pointless without the edit parts and moves, I disagree. Anyone who remembers FPG knows how bad-ass of a mode Fighting Road is. This would give us the chance to support Spike if we want, update our edits in the time they are getting their heads together, and not be split when the DLC drops (because all the top dogs will be using the new parts and moves, those who don't buy the DLC will be out of luck).
I know it's dreaming... But I'm not the only one...

At this point, I want the release just so we can end the circlejerk of "I'm angry..." "WELL, I'M NOT!" Honestly, 80% of the responses I'm reading in here are from people who have absolutely no clue what's going on. "I don't get why people are so impatient." Pretty sure that it's been retread for 15 pages now that nobody is upset about a delay and that there's more going on than that. Cue the next 10 responses of "well I don't know why people are so upset, but I can wait a few weeks :)."

I mean, at first i thought the same thing, that the edit parts would be non dlc dependent, but then i realized that NJPW will not be giving their license for free ( the voice clips for example) so we're going to have to pay for everything because in the long run it will print money.
Also it will become a very essential dlc to have, unless you wanna miss out on many edits that will use those parts and very accurate edits of the NJPW guys - and i'm not talking about the licensed spike edits, i'm talking about good stuff already in the workshop that will get updated.
as for the Fighting Road mode : As much as you and i intend to play it many times over , there's quite a few people that don't care about it at all, since theybarely play the game to begin with.

Fighting road alone isn't worth $20. If they split the parts and moves, they have to:
1) Explain to the console players why they didn't get the moves and parts for free as well, since that content is a part of the PS4 price.
2) Reevaluate how the remaining scenario dlc will be handled.
As unfortunate as it is, the PC version is not important enough (to Spike) for those changes to be worthwhile. Especially not now when Spike is clearly in the end game phase with World. My only suggestion would be not to allow the dlc release to affect your edit creation schedule, as we don't have a guaranteed release date for it.
And before there's another comment about a Switch port, the leader of the project saying he would like to work on it means absolutely nothing when it is the executives above his pay grade making the decisions.
(This is not an angry post)

I hope to God not. I have to work Tuesday so any interference between me and actual play would suck. I've got ALOT of work to do to catch up to my PC version

I'm not sure if it would be smart to release the DLC in late September with WWE 2k19 coming out around that time. Now I know that not everyone playing the PC version of World will be hyped up about 2K's game, but it's significant since it's the leading wrestling franchise on the market right now. Once Spike gets the PS4 version released before WWE2k19 is out, they should be fine. Delaying the DLC specifically for PC just to avoid releasing during WWE 2k19's window would just make matters worse, imo. Fully agreed. If it has to be delayed past it for development purposes, so be it, but to strategically avoid 2K's window for the PC DLC would be counterproductive.

Has there been any sort of update in regards to the save corruption, or are we supposed to manually copy our save to a USB drive for now? I have a feeling tomorrow is gonna be a cluster..
