Muscle Machines Gary Gear: We're headed to the top, baby! That's what I'm talkin' about!
Adonis Avery Alexander: For once, something worked out right. And how the hell did you not end up sucking wind ten minutes in?
Gear: I don't know! I don't care! We're climbing up the ladder!
AAA: Winning like this, almost makes me not hate teaming with you. And that is quite the accomplishment.
Gear: My head's gonna hurt a lot in the morning, but I don't care! I don't care! I slammed Mallory through the mat!
AAA: Too bad you couldn't do that to Kanjirin...
Gear: Aw, get outta here with that! We won!
AAA: Yeah, a win is a win. And I think that's a lesson we need to remember.
RNA Ruthless Nicole Alger: You know, I always believed in us. I always thought me and Candace just needed a few good weeks. We proved that. For all the criticism Candace took, for all the stuff people talked about me, we stuffed it. When Candace dropped Felice with that Gotch Style, it was a statement. We're ready. We're ready to step up and take those belts. And I can't wait. Time to finish what we started. And get onto the next step of our careers.
Felice (Overcaffenated warning!!) Felice Santana: I know we lost that match, but if we were going to lose a match, I think there's worse ways we could have lost a match, and worse people we coulda lost to, I mean, it's not that I like losing, it's not like I'm even ok with losing, but if we had to lose, I like the Limbtakers a lot, I like Nicole and I like Candace, and I like that they're going to get a match for the titles, but it's like, you know, I need to just keep getting better, and sometimes you have to lose to get better, but maybe the next time I win, it's against Candace, because she wants a one on one match with me, and I'm great with that!

Looking ahead to Showdown on Monday, and a few big-time matches are coming up: The final two qualifiers for the Women's Battle Royal taking place at Proving Ground #17, a Women's Championship match that could signal the end of an era, and a World Championship match with two of the most unlikely challengers perhaps in Phoenix Rising's history. Let's take a look.
Pre-Show: Tasharun vs. Victor Kintelas
Pre-Show: Kaelara Sentarl vs. Laenara Kintelas
Pre-Show: Anahera vs. Winifred Wright
Xiu Mei Li vs. Eri Sentarl (Qualifier)
Haruka Matsura vs. Sophia Moretti (Qualifier)
Besos and Rey de la Carne vs. Firehawk Sentarl and Rilantha De Nav
Kileas Kintelas vs. Lance Marshall
Fenix Oscuro vs. Angel Leblanc
The Black Dragon vs. Binak Tonorian
Urani Whitemist vs. The Phantom Thief vs. Silver Hawk for the Phoenix Rising World Championship
Shiana Sentarl vs. Alexandria Kirison for the Phoenix Rising Women's Championship
Tasharun remains in a foul mood... despite knowing he's fully capable of crushing Urani Whitemist and claiming the World Championship, he has not been given that opportunity, and the question slowly arises: is this a deliberate gambit intended to keep the Demon from regaining dominion over Phoenix Rising? Victor Kintelas will seek to slow his momentum, but it seems unlikely given his recent struggles. Both Kaelara and Laenara were shockingly defeated in their qualifying matches, Kae falling to the veteran Winifred Wright, and Laenara losing in an even more shocking fashion to Angel Leblanc. The two seek to re-focus themselves here, and once again touch off the long-standing Sentarl/Kintelas rivalry... although it has been said before that these two get along quite well. Anahera was more than intrigued by the new look and new attitude Winifred Wright brought to her exhibition match on Sunday's 49th Parallel show. She's issued a challenge to the veteran trainer... it'll be a clash of Maori spirit versus veteran guile and power. Eri Sentarl was blindsided last week by the debut of Fenix Oscuro, who not only left the newly-arrived Besos out cold on the outside, but left referee Millicent Shine in a crumpled heap beside her... and then proceeded to dismantle Eri, already exhausted by her match. Eri now hopes to put that beating behind her and take down one half of the Tag Team Champions in Xiu Mei... but the Chinese warrior has been achingly close to the Women's Championship once before. Does Eri have the determination to put her down? The Syndicate is in bad shape. Struggling badly ever since the removal of Angel Leblanc, Haruka and Sophia now square off with each other for the first time perhaps ever... can their team survive this collision? While Besos had a rough time last week with Oscuro's debut, she's not alone anymore in Phoenix Rising: she now joins her brother to enter the tag team division, and together they take on perhaps one of the fastest-rising teams in the company in Firehawk and Rilantha. Can the children of Mega Meat step up and make a name for themselves? Once again, the former World Champion clashes with the Alpha Villain, and this may be yet another prelude to a championship opportunity... but it's difficult to tell how this one may turn out, with both men perhaps not looking at their absolute best as of late. Fenix Oscuro made her first appearance on Phoenix Rising last week... and now, we get to see what she's truly capable of in the ring as she takes on Angel Leblanc. Angel, for her part, has looked stronger than ever in recent weeks, but does she have what it takes to face a woman that utterly destroyed no less than three other people in one night? Binak Tonorian's return caught the attention of everyone... and perhaps nobody more than the Black Dragon, who immediately stepped to the front of line to challenge the giant. She's made the bold claim that she can defeat the man that's looked nearly unstoppable in every appearance he's ever made in Phoenix Rising... but can she back that up? The World Championship is on the line: and nobody could've ever imagined it'd look like this. The Phantom Thief earned a rare championship opportunity last week when he took down Telan Kintelas, but then proceeded to lose to Silver Hawk on Proving Ground... prompting management to book the championship match as a 3-way dance. The champion certainly seems to welcome the challenge... only the last man (or, in this case perhaps, woman) standing will walk away with the prestigious title... can either star take that final step and dethrone the Cherokee Titan? Alexandria Kirison stunned the crowd last Showdown when she utterly dominated the Women's Champion, and made Shiana look perhaps more vulnerable than anyone ever has. Now she gets a rematch for the championship... can lightning strike twice? Can the Greek fighter truly rise to the top of the mountain and end the era of the Queen of Phoenix Rising? Eri Sentarl "I don't know who you are. You say that I should, but I can't make any sort of connection to my time in Mexico, and honestly, I'm not sure if I want to. I don't remember it that well because... well, you made your point while you were insulting me. Yeah, I never picked up the language. But what you did last week... what you did to our referee, to Besos, crossed the line. You have a problem with me? Fine, take it out on me, I'll stare you right in the face and fight for as long as I can draw breath. But you keep other people out of our problem. You stay the hell away from my friends. My family. Because if you don't... if you try to drag anyone else into this, I'll make you regret it. I don't care who you really are. This is between you and me... and you're gonna keep it that way." Fenix Oscuro <Let me tell you a story... a story of a child that came to Mexico seeking training, looking to better herself... at the expense of everyone else around her.> Oscuro once again appears in mostly darkness, and this time, she's not bothering to translate for anyone... though, luckily for Eri (and the audience), she is subtitled. <Eri came to my school one day... we were both young, looking to the future, aiming to be the best in the world. But where I sought to learn all I could and better myself through that knowledge... young Eri wanted the fast track. Wanted all the opportunities. Believed she was already better than all of us... every bit the arrogant American bitch that you could imagine.
Oh, yes, Eri Sentarl is no perfect little angel. She's cultivated this image, this character of hers that's such a joy, so bubbly and energetic, a friend to everyone around her... but I know the truth, Eri. I've seen your real face. I've seen what lies beneath your mask... THAT is why I hate you. And it won't be long before the truth finally becomes apparent to everyone here... the fans, your friends, your family. Your ambition nearly destroyed my career... because there was no one, NO ONE you tried to hold back more than me. You tried so hard to ruin me and make me look bad... but now here I am, successful, better, stronger than you... and your career is the one that will be destroyed, Eri. When I am done... the world will turn its back on you, and I will leave you broken, beaten... with nothing left but your own foolish arrogance.>

Alexandria Kirison "Been a while since I've been on top of the card, huh? After last time out, you and I damn well SHOULD be. You know as well as I do that I can give a repeat performance every damn day of my life against you. I have your number, Shiana... all it takes is for me to do what I did last time out, and the longest active reign in Phoenix Rising goes up in smoke... just like that." Alex snaps her fingers with a smirk. "I hear you were thinking about stepping in as a special referee for that battle royal coming up next week. Maybe you should. Cause if you're not the champ anymore... well, what else are you doing with yourself? Face the facts, Shiana... you're on borrowed time. And I'm in the best shape of my life. This is the week it all comes crashing down. Count on it." Urani Whitemist "Two challengers arise... instead of just one. Some might think that this is a threat to my reign. I think that it's nothing. The fact is, this title doesn't leave my waist until someone can pin me, or force me to submit... and the two men that are coming to face me this week don't have what it takes. I have respect for the both of you... Thief... Silver Hawk. But you're not claiming this title. At the risk of sounding arrogant... this is the biggest match of both your careers. For me... this is another defense to make. Another threat to my championship reign. And I -will- defend it. I'll defend it with the same ferocity that I would give anyone else. And whether you like it or not... at the end of the night, I will still be Phoenix Rising's World Champion." Binak Tonorian "Suppose it was only a matter of time before I got called back into this. I don't think I can ever really step away... no matter how old I think I am, there's always something that draws me back into that ring. Kileas wanted to prove something, and all he managed to prove was that he is no giant-killer... I'll tell you right now, there is no one in this company capable of it. No one. But if you think you know better than I do... then you're welcome to try. The Black Dragon is... impressive. But she won't do any better than Kileas did." Lance Marshall "Y'know, I think people are startin' to think I'm slippin' a bit. That I ain't quite at the same level I was. Maybe they're right, but y'know what? This week is do or die time. I'm gonna get back to the top or fall back down... ain't any way around it. Kileas... you're one of the best of the best, have been for years, but you ain't gonna put me down. Not this time. I might have damn near everything ridin' on beating you... 'cause if I can't, then I gotta get my ass back to the drawin' board, 'cause I don't have it right anymore."

Labor Day is apparently "everything goes weird" day in Phoenix Rising. Let's take a look at exactly what all went on for this absolutely insane show. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/305685413Youtube: youtu.be/nFfOhzaC3_kQuick Results Tasharun def. Victor Kintelas Anahera def. Winifred Wright Kaelara Sentarl def. Laenara Kintelas
Xiu Mei Li def. Eri Sentarl Haruka Matsura def. Sophia Moretti Firehawk Sentarl and Rilantha De Nav def. Besos and Rey de la Carne Lance Marshall def. Kileas Kintelas Fenix Oscuro def. Angel Leblanc Binak Tonorian def. Black Dragon Urani Whitemist def. Phantom Thief and Silver Hawk to retain the World Championship Alexandria Kirison def. Shiana Sentarl to become NEW Women's Champion Write-ups Unfortunately for Victor, this didn't help his skid any. Tasharun did as he usually does, punching Victor out and scoring another big win in the opener... a spot he'd much rather not be in. Cycled forward a little bit to give Kaelara time to recover before her match, these two didn't disappoint in a hard-hitting affair. Winifred didn't come away with the win, but there seems to be a new spark in the old veteran... she seems on top of her game again, and it may be a matter of time before she's back in the hunt for that top spot in the division. Anahera, meanwhile, was her usual dominant self... and with calls to challenge Urani Whitemist for the World Championship, it's possible she could actually become a TRIPLE champion soon. Despite being caught up in an absolute war with JD Belmonte earlier in the day at AAW, Kae came right back out for her second match of the day and looked as sharp as ever. She may not be AAW Heavyweight Champion again, but she picked up a vital win over Laenara here, keeping herself on the path towards the top once again. Eri did seem to give this one her all... but she didn't seem fully focused, making too many mistakes, and Xiu made her pay for it. Perhaps Oscuro is already in the young woman's head... she won't be in the battle royal next week, but given the night's events, perhaps she'd find it better that way... From the beginning, this did not feel like a friendly competition between tag partners. This was ugly, this was vicious, and Haruka showed absolutely no hesitation in going after her partner... a sharp Death From Above gave her the win. But in a shocking display, Haruka wasn't done there, forcing Sophia to her feet again, blasting the Italian with mist to the face, and beating her around the ring... nobody dared get in her way, and as the feed went to break, Haruka seemed to be dragging Sophia out of the ring. Firehawk had a bit of a rough time in this match. Clearly unprepared for the antics of Rey de la Carne, he found himself VERY quickly tagging out whenever they came into focus. Besos never quite got her own in during the course of this one, but Rey definitely showed exactly what he's about in his debut match... even if Firehawk ultimately planted him with a Phoenix Dive and picked up a win, keeping their team undefeated to this point. The two toughest men in Phoenix Rising didn't leave anything behind here. This got to be a brawl in a hurry, Lance landing no less than THREE Demonkillers, and eventually, falling back on a Tower Hacker to defeat Kileas. Still, one has to wonder... where has Lance's head been, lately? No Cattle Drives, and certainly a few other things seem to be lacking... The in-ring debut of Fenix Oscuro was a resounding success. While Angel got her licks in, Oscuro seemed to almost overwhelm her in the end, culminating in a devastating Shining Wizard dead-center of the ring... and as if to accent her victory, gave Angel a sharp beating after the bell, pointing to the fallen blonde almost as a seeming warning to Eri... Dragon wanted a challenge. Dragon sure as hell GOT a challenge... though I don't think this is what she had in mind. There has never been anyone in Phoenix Rising history that's made her look this weak, but Binak absolutely obliterated her... and reminding the world that he is still a giant, and still very well may be the most dangerous man in Phoenix Rising. Some strong competition from the Phantom Thief and Silver Hawk, but Urani just seemed too much for the pair this time. While they tried to cut down the titan, they couldn't stop getting into it with each other, and Urani picked them off back-to-back to retain her title, and continue a dominant reign. Shiana Sentarl pulled out all the stops. Gave it literally every ounce of strength she had. Cut Alex open early on, went blow-for-blow with perhaps one of the most dangerous strikers in the company, endured slams, kicks, punches, and the devastating cross-arm camel clutch that Alex has made such good use of... and all of this still didn't prove enough to come away with the win. Shiana left it all in the ring, but the longest active reign in Phoenix Rising came to an end tonight, with Alexandria Kirison reminding the world that she is, at least for now, the top woman in all of Phoenix Rising. An era has ended... what happens now? Shiana Sentarl The mood is a bit somber in the back, Shiana holding an ice pack on the back of her neck, two others resting on her knees, the now-former champion looking almost strange without the Women's Championship nearby. "What's there to say? I did literally everything I could to try and keep her down, and I couldn't do it. It was bound to happen sooner or later... that I'd find an opponent I couldn't get through. That my reign would come to an end. But as a competitor, it still hurts. Losing to Alex twice in a row... my pride's shot, my body aches, and... I think I might need a little bit of time to think things over. I'll do what Alex suggested, though... I'm going to step in and ref the battle royal next week. It'll be a good opportunity to take my mind off of this... and then, I can focus on where I go from here. This isn't the end. I'm not retiring. I'm not giving up. And I swear to you... that will not be the last time I hold that title. I'll come back soon... better than ever." Alexandria Kirison In sharp contrast to the quiet room Shiana's sitting in, Alex is very much in a celebratory mood, and she's not the only one there, Candace Monroe having joined the celebration. "That was maybe one of the best damn matches I've ever had in my time here. Shiana's the best, champion or not, let's face it... and for all the harsh stuff I might've said leading up to this... look. I've got nothing but respect for you. Nobody can push her opponents to the limit like you can. But you better believe I'm not giving up this title for anything... not for a good while. We'll square off again, Shiana, I know it... and trust me, I expect you to push even harder when we meet again." Binak Tonorian "The warmups are over. You make a challenge, you'd best be ready to back it up. Dragon wasn't ready for what she faced tonight. And I guarantee that nobody else is, either. You're welcome to step up and try to get your bragging rights... but if I wanted the World Championship, I'd already have it. For now... we'll see who has the guts to step into that ring next time around." Fenix Oscuro <You know what that match meant for you, Eri. What your own match meant, what mine meant for your future. I won... you lost. And I know exactly why you lost... because I've already gotten in your head, and that means I've already beaten you. We'll meet each other very soon... but I'm beginning to think you don't know, exactly, who I am. It should be obvious. But of course, the arrogant bitch that you were back then, you've probably already forgotten everyone you knew there. But you'll remember soon. Think. Remember.> Oscuro slowly tilts her head as she stares into the camera. <And count the days until I destroy your spirit completely.> Haruka Matsura <From the beginning... the Syndicate has been poisoned. Something eating away at its foundation... ever since dear Angel Leblanc started it so long ago. 'Her' Syndicate was weak... and at its core, the problem was simple. Angel was weak and useless... and we cast her aside. She held no further value... and thus, for the Syndicate to survive, she had to be removed.
But that was only the beginning of the Syndicate's problem. All along, I'd pointed to HER as the catalyst... but no. I'd been looking in the wrong place... all this time. Angel was weak, true... but there was always something far worse at play. Sophia Moretti has never been committed. Has never been good enough. You, Sophia, are far too passive to be part of this... you deferred to her, and then, to me. The constant failures we have faced... the defeats, the struggles, have been on YOUR head. The weak link in the Syndicate... has always been the so-called Italian Monster. You are hardly worthy of the name. A MONSTER would have destroyed our foes and claimed everything of worth long ago. A MONSTER would not have rolled over to every other team in Phoenix Rising. You are nothing but a pathetic shell of a woman... one who has yet to realize that she has been surpassed. I have done you a favor, Sophia... and my suggestion to you, once I am finished...
Run back home to Rome and never show your face here again.>
Haruka looks down... and Sophia, seemingly having been there the whole time, lays semi-conscious, Haruka having continued the beating behind closed doors... and with another harsh stomp to the beaten Italian, Haruka takes her leave... the Syndicate is no more.

This one took some doing. My intention was to run the qualifier for Kaotic's trios tournament, along with the Blake Dynamite/Telan Kintelas showdown that everyone's been clamoring for. Unfortunately, I failed to remember that Blake is a part of Team Proving Ground! Blake vs. Telan will happen next Showdown, and then the Top Prospect match that Todd Colton earned some time ago will be on the NEXT Proving Ground after this one. Pre-Show: Layla Al-Amin vs. Fresh Suzuki
Pre-Show: Silver Hawk vs. Rey de la Carne
Pre-Show: Anna Bryant vs. Donna Nobel
Team Proving Ground (Blake, Elly, Kyle, Argent) vs. Pure Gold (Kellaron, Victor, Kanjirin, Mallory)
Candace Monroe vs. Felice Santana
Todd Colton vs. Telan Kintelas
Ruthless Nicole Alger vs. Vivian Forester
The Phantom Thief and Mascara Avispa vs. The Muscle Machines
Rin Ryusaki vs. Natasha Clover for the Inspire Championship
8-Woman Battle Royal: Allison Avery, Mercy Devine, Winifred Wright, Angel Leblanc, Listalva Anne Heyward, Rachel White, Haruka Matsura, Xiu Mei Li (Top two Proving Ground finishes earn a promotion to Showdown's roster)That's right... not only is the Battle Royal a chance at new champion Alexandria Kirison, the two Proving Ground women who perform the best (last the longest) will get an immediate promotion to the main roster!
Layla Al-Amin and Fresh Suzuki are almost certainly two of the most dynamic stars Proving Ground's ever known. They'll open the night's action in what's certain to be a wild match all around.
Silver Hawk comes back to Proving Ground after an unfortunate losing effort against Urani Whitemist and the Phantom Thief. He'll take on the man that debuted at Showdown in tag action, Rey de la Carne, in his first singles match in Phoenix Rising... and having held up as well as he did against Firehawk and Rilantha, can Silver Hawk manage to keep up with his antics?
Two technically-gifted stars square off in the final match of the pre-show, as Anna Bryant tries to keep her young career on track. But against Donna Nobel, Nicole Blade is certain to be close by... can Anna overcome what may prove to be more than a simple singles match?
The Heenan qualifier kicks off the main card... and although it's a trios tournament, the teams are going all out in 8-man action, because this match seems to be a long time coming. Blake's assembled the best partners he can find... but will it be enough against the dangerous team that's already claimed tag team gold?
No time wasted here: Candace wanted a one-on-one with Felice, and they'll get that match here. Felice will look to avenge their defeat at the hands of the Limbtakers here, but Candace is looking as tough as she ever has...
Todd Colton is, to put it lightly, frustrated. Failing to progress in the Z-1, not getting his promised Top Prospect match with Blake for another two weeks, he now seeks to vent that anger on a man that is almost made entirely of fury. Telan, for his part, also wants to get his hands on Blake... rumors that the two are somehow related, however distantly, have gotten under his skin...
Nicole Alger steps up to face the other half of the team that the Limbtakers defeated last week. Vivian Forester will have her hands full... while Alger's been mostly a tag specialist in Phoenix Rising, she's still very much a threat on her own.
The Phantom Thief returns to tag action, teaming with Mascara Avispa against the Muscle Machines... the two teams squared off around two months ago, but this time, it seems that the match may carry #1 contender implications, the winners likely to challenge Kanjirin and Mallory for the titles this time around...
Rin Ryusaki shook things up in a big way by defeating Natasha Clover last week, giving her a second victory over the newly-crowned Inspire Champion. Rin now looks to see if lightning can strike a third time, and capture the title that many believe Natasha doesn't deserve...
The battle royal holds many implications. A promotion to the main roster for two women of Proving Ground. A shot at the brand-new Women's Champion, Alexandria Kirison. And a special guest referee in the former champion, Shiana Sentarl. Who will come out on top in the end? Who will punch their ticket to the big time?

Proving Ground goes on as planned tonight: 7:00 PM Pacific, same as always (possibly later depending on AAW). This one's gonna be a bit of a wild one... and I -might- have to make use of faster sim speeds for the battle royal if things start to get a bit long by the end of the show. As it stands, the 8-man tag match will be NO cut play, first fall takes it, in the interest of keeping things moving quickly.

Ha. Hahaha. Ohhh, I learned some lessons tonight, I did. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/308625190Youtube: youtu.be/z99DPM_RGssQuick Results Layla Al-Amin def. Fresh Suzuki Rey de la Carne def. Silver Hawk Anna Bryant def. Donna Nobel
Team Proving Ground def. Pure Gold Candace Monroe def. Felice Santana Telan Kintelas def. Todd Colton Vivian Forester def. Ruthless Nicole Alger Phantom Thief/Mascara Avispa vs. Muscle Machines was delayed to next episode Rin Ryusaki def. Natasha Clover to become NEW Inspire Champion! MERCY DEVINE won the 8-woman battle royal to challenge Alexandria Kirison next week! Rachel White earned a promotion to the main roster as well! Write-ups Layla seemed pretty well in charge this time out, looking strong as she brought down Suzuki. A solid showing for the Cairo Cyclone after a few rough outings. We got what we expected from Rey here. Silver Hawk was definitely not prepared for it, and took the loss pretty firmly. This was a comeback for the ages. Anna was getting beaten soundly for most of the match, but managed to make a roaring comeback and stun Donna for a huge victory... she looked as surprised as everyone else in the arena! Hoo boy. This... this was an adventure. Everything that the two teams threw out just didn't seem to be enough! FINALLY, after what seemed like an eternity, another Blake Lotation would put this one away, and send Team Proving Ground to the Heenan Classic. Took a hell of a lot of doing to get there, though. This match is why the other tag match got cut, incidentally. What's this? Candace Monroe has a winning streak? Wouldn't you know it, the Aussie is on a roll all of a sudden. She absolutely picked Felice's legs apart and lived up to her team name... though was more than eager to help the young woman back up once the match was over. Well, that didn't go as planned. Or, exactly as planned? Telan obliterated Todd, here, and if logic holds, well... I guess we've got a three-way dance for the Top Prospect title coming up, much to Todd's dismay. It may even be cemented further next week when Telan faces Blake... Alger seemed... distracted, perhaps, in this one. She zeroed in on Vivian's arms, but couldn't quite seal the deal, and perhaps got a bit too flustered... forgoing a surefire pin off a shoot piledriver that would ultimately cost her the match, Vivian trapping her in a submission of her own and evening the score for the night. Absolutely unreal. Rin Ryusaki was absolutely electric in this match, fighting her way out of everything Natasha could throw her way... and ultimately, it was another Shooting Star Press that finished the champion, and ended her reign almost prematurely. Natasha doesn't seem to have an answer for the Winter Kunoichi... can she bounce back from this utter defeat? And can Rin Ryusaki fend off the challenge of Anari Lynn Heyward, waiting in the wings (but didn't get the shot she earned because LOL I FORGOT) This cannot mean good news for anyone on Showdown. The psychotic, the hardcore, the violent Mercy Devine is not only coming to the main roster, she's going to face the Women's Champion in her debut match. Rachel White also managed to endure long enough to be promoted alongside her... but Mercy Devine took FULL advantage of the no-DQ format of the battle royal, and with all of the underhanded tactics she could muster, Mercy Devine is now primed for what is certain to be an absolute brawl with Alexandria Kirison. Not a bad day for the questionably-sane girl. Telan Kintelas "I damn well told you that Todd Colton was gonna be a waste of time, and look what happened. Now listen to this: Blake Dynamite, next week, that's gonna be you in the same spot. I've already wrecked your dumbass #1 contender, now I'm coming after you, and after next week, there's not gonna be a single person in the world that EVER mistakes me for you again." Mercy Devine "HAHAHAHAHAHA! OH, MAN, WHAT A -NIGHT-! You're telling me I got to screw over seven other women, do whatever I damn well pleased, goody-two-shoes Shiana had to let it all go, AND I GET TO FUCK UP ALEX KIRISON? Oh, you're gonna give me so many new targets... I already got what I wanted outta Proving Ground. This has been my goal from Day Fucking One... get to the big-time, and go after that gold... and I can't WAIT to get my hands on you, Alex. Not to mention all the other women I can throw down with now. Sorry, Kevin! Looks like we're gonna have to wait a bit longer to be on the same big stage, huh!" Mercy gives another psychotic giggle. "Fuck, this was the best night ever. Deathmatches all night, people exploding, the God of Death is back and friggin' Crystal blew the hell up. Haha. But hey, someone get that Tayaki dude on the phone, imagine what we could do in Evergreen with that guy-" Rin Ryusaki The Inspire Championship still rests on Rin's shoulder... the nameplate not yet even changed, the young ninja panting softly but still almost bouncing on the balls of her feet, perhaps a surge of energy running through the young woman after her victory. <You have no idea... how much of a rush this is. Who would've guessed this? Who could've seen me being a champion like this? The moment I saw Natasha win that belt I knew I could do the same, but I had to beat her here and now... and I did. Now I have to look ahead and face Anari... and I know it won't be easy. But I'm a champion now... and I'm not gonna back down from that challenge. Not for anything.> Natasha Clover "What the hell do you want?" Natasha scowls at the cameras, sunglasses pulled off, ice wrapped around her ribs. "What the hell do you want me to say? I just lost the title I'd only barely just won. I was supposed to be the BEST around here, and that little..." She trails off, and quickly gets to her feet, and the reason why becomes clear in a hurry.
"Seems about right that the day I leave Proving Ground is a day you lose everything as well." Rachel's voice is quiet, but there's no anger, no malice. "Didn't have to turn out this way, you know. It didn't help either of us."
"The hell it didn't. Breaking off from you was the best thing that ever happened to me."
"Hasn't helped you much tonight." Rachel sighs, folding her arms. "Look. This is the last time you'll have to see me for a while, anyway. Until you get that promotion yourself. And I know you will. I just... wanted to come talk one last time before I left. To apologize."
"What?" Natasha stares at the redhead in disbelief. "The hell are you apologizing for?"
"A lot of things. Yeah, you turned into a bit of a bitch in the end, but I didn't help it much. And stepping into your match... no matter whether you deserved it or not... was wrong. I never should've come out when you faced Rin. Shouldn't have taken that spot in the battle royal, back then. Shouldn't have tried to screw you over, no matter how -good- it felt at that point." Rachel holds a hand out to her former friend. "I don't expect anything. Just... I wanted to get that out there."
Natasha doesn't say anything for a few moments. She slowly takes Rachel's hand, though pulls her in as she glares into the other woman's eyes. "I'll be right behind you. It won't be long before I'm on your ass again. You know that."
"I know. As good as you are... I know damn well." Rachel smirks. "Wouldn't mind beating your ass on a bigger stage. But for now... well. I've said my piece." She releases her grip on Natasha's hand, and slowly steps back. "... Take care, Tasha."
"... you too." Natasha murmurs back, then sinks back down onto her bench... watching Rachel walk away, leaving Proving Ground behind.

Felice Felice Santana: That was fun! I really enjoyed myself out there, even if I did lose, and even if my legs really really hurt right now, and they do hurt a lot, but isn't that part of wrestling? My grandpappy tells me all the time that the pain is a part of the game that we can't escape, so we should embrace it, but not show the fans that we're hurting, so I'm just gonna smile and wave to all the wonderful fans and tell them that it doesn't really hurt, but it does really hurt, but that's ok if it hurts, because that means that I fought a great opponent like Candace! And I love fighting good opponents who don't look at this like it's some game where you don't just, like, win, but you have to also look mean and nasty after the match, but Candace isn't like that, she's very nice after she breaks your legs and piledrives you! Oh well, I'll win the next one!
RNA Ruthless Nicole Alger: *Sniff* Ok, I don't wanna make any 'cuses. Damnit, I'm not crying, I'm sick, ok! *Sniff* Do I sond like I'm feeling ok? Fine. I dunt just take the night off 'cause I'm sick. I fight. And if I lose, id isn't cause I'm sick. Id is cause Viv was bedder tonight, ok? I'm gonna go get rest now. *Sniff*

Tell ya one thing, with the promotion of those two from Proving Ground to Showdown, I think I need to do the same for some of the men at some point. (And also make more guys. Kevin Royce was certainly a start at least.) Showdown next week shakes out like so. Pre-Show: The Black Dragon vs. Xiu Mei Li Pre-Show: Rachel White vs. Haruka Matsura Pre-Show: Eri Sentarl vs. Sophia Moretti Blake Dynamite vs. Telan Kintelas Besos and Rey de la Carne vs. Kileas and Victor Kintelas Fenix Oscuro vs. Kaelara Sentarl Anahera vs. Laenara Kintelas Les Beautes Blondes (Elise/Michelle) vs. Firehawk Sentarl and Rilantha De Nav Binak Tonorian vs. Lance Marshall Urani Whitemist vs. Tasharun Alexandria Kirison vs. Mercy Devine for the Phoenix Rising Women's Championship The Black Dragon has... surprisingly enough, struggled as of late. She'll be trying to get herself back on track as she takes on one half of the tag team champions, one of the ones responsible for taking the only gold she's held in Phoenix Rising from her... but Xiu Mei is far from a pushover.
Rachel White's debut on Showdown may be in the undercard pre-show, but it's no less of a thrill for the young woman as she takes on the woman she eliminated in the battle royal on Proving Ground (in fact, hers was the FIRST elimination of the match, nailing Haruka with a Kamigoye and pinning her!) Haruka, meanwhile, seeks revenge... can she bounce back and show the upstart redhead her place?
This rivalry has, quietly, been a vicious one. Eri Sentarl once took pride in never giving in to an opponent... but Sophia Moretti has always tested that. While Eri defeated her in their last meeting, Sophia still holds the high ground in their series... and reeling from the betrayal of her former partner, will Sophia's head be in the right place for this match?
We've all heard the talk: Blake and Telan's similarities, culminating in a reveal that Blake is in fact, slightly related to the Kintelas family! Now he's set to square off with the man that so many have insisted he looks like... but can Proving Ground's Top Prospect take on the wild powerhouse?
While Besos and Rey de la Carne were unsuccessful in their debut as a tag team last Showdown, they made quite the impact regardless... and now, they've got their sights set on a bigger target still. Father and son team together for the first time in quite a long time, but how well will Kileas and Victor work together, given their past relationship? And can the Kintelas duo handle Rey's antics better than Firehawk did?
Fenix Oscuro debuted in a big way last Showdown as she defeated Angel Leblanc... and while Angel made it to the battle royal, one has to think that she might've fared better if Oscuro hadn't beaten her senseless. Now the mysterious luchadora has chosen a target much closer to her hated rival... can Kaelara handle the dangerous woman with a vendetta against her big sister?
Anahera seems prepared to take her shot at the biggest prize in Phoenix Rising... with the Phantom Thief and Silver Hawk falling short, a new contender has to rise. But first, Anahera takes on the other half of the tag team that the Rising Storm defeated to become two-time champions. Laenara is a dangerous woman... and Anahera will still need to be at her best.
Les Beautes Blondes haven't been seen terribly often as of late, but they'll finally make their proper return to the ring here against the seemingly future #1 contenders in Firehawk and Ril. Undefeated as a team so far, the French team will have their hands full...
Lance Marshall became the next man to issue a challenge towards the giant. Binak, of course, seemed fully willing to take it... and this could be an absolute clash of two of the most dangerous men in the wrestling world, a match that may shake the foundation of Phoenix Rising. Can Lance add another epithet to that incredible powerbomb of his? Demonkiller... Dragonslayer... could it also lay a giant low?
Tasharun is tired of the disrespect. Tired of being overlooked. And the demon has demanded this match, in order to show that he is the rightful champion. This match will not be pretty, without a doubt... and a win by the demon could mean a very, very bleak future for Showdown.
Mercy Devine shocked everyone by winning the battle royal last week on Proving Ground. Of the eight women who entered the match, Mercy was perhaps seen as the least likely to even get promoted, much less to win the whole thing... and yet, in her first match ever on Showdown, Mercy Devine is in the main event, challenging Alexandria Kirison for the Women's Championship. Can the psychotic woman pull off the biggest win of her career? Regardless of whether she wins or loses, she's already made a giant impact on the main roster without even wrestling a match...

With the 49th Parallel wrapped up, it's time to focus back in on this. Tomorrow night, same time as usual. The debuts of the two women that were promoted from Proving Ground... a championship match for one of them, and the biggest test of Urani's career, perhaps, in Tasharun. This is gonna get wild.

Tasharun "You finally recognize what should've been... all along. No one is as dominant as I am. No one can accomplish what I have. And after tonight, there will be no doubt that I am the rightful champion of Phoenix Rising. It's just a matter of time. Urani Whitemist cannot stop me... no one can. Not anymore. And there is always... always a plan in reserve, if need be..." Urani Whitemist "Tasharun wants to make all of these claims. That he should hold this title, not me, or Lance Marshall, or anyone else that would be deserving. Tasharun has never carried himself like a champion, he only seeks to be a tyrant, and believes that this belt gives him that power. Maybe he's right in some sense... whoever is World Champion has a power that can't be denied. It paints a target on your back, it turns some against you for your success, it causes others to view you with jealous eyes. And the only thing you can do in that situation... is fight. Until you can't, anymore. Until you've given every last breath you can to defend it. Tasharun... I still have more than enough to take you on. And I will not back down. You've been proven to be mortal, to be vulnerable in the past, and I will remind everyone of that fact soon enough." Mercy Devine "So here we are, the big day, the debut, the moment NOBODY thought was ever gonna happen. The night that I turn Alexandria Kirison into a one-hit wonder. Yeah, that's right, Alex, I'm gonna make the biggest impact Showdown's ever seen... cause it doesn't matter if it's you, if it's old lady Shiana, if it's someone else, you aren't fuckin' READY for what I got. You're not ready for my brand of violence, you're not ready to step in with the craziest bitch that ever set foot in Evergreen, you're not ready to bleed and scream and BEG for mercy like I know you WILL. At the end of the night you're gonna be a bloody mess of a former champion, and I'm gonna have the greatest debut in this company's history when I take that title from you... and just two weeks after you won it, too, look at that. Because there's no way around it. I'm not gonna accept anything less. I beat seven other women to get this shot and I'm sure as hell not gonna waste it by letting you take me down." Alexandria Kirison "When this whole thing started, I didn't think it'd turn out quite like this. Of course I figured I'd beat Shiana. I'd already done it once. Earned the shot, made the most of it, and claimed the prize I'd been waiting so long for. And then... YOU happened. The nobody from a company of lunatics, of violent psychopaths, of brutal insanity... and now Mercy Devine, of all people, is getting the first crack at me? My first defense, against YOU. I know exactly what your game is, Mercy. I know damn well what you're all about... you're violent, you're unstable, and against a real wrestler, one-on-one... nine times out of ten you're gonna crumple like tissue paper. So let me tell you how this is gonna go, Mercy... you're gonna step into that ring against the strongest Women's Champion in Phoenix Rising's history. You're gonna try and fight like you always do, you'll pull out that damn fork and try to make me bleed... hell, you might even do it. But you're not walking out of that ring under your own power, you hear me? I'm going to punch your fucking lights out, and at the end of the night, I will STILL be Women's Champion... and you, rookie, are gonna be right where you belong: at the back of the line." Telan Kintelas "Would you look at this, the day finally got here where I get to put your ass down, Dynamite! The hell anyone's gonna mistake the two of us for each other after this one, you hear me!? Once I break you in half, there won't be any mistake ever again... You're gonna be the kid that couldn't measure up, while I'm the goddamn beast that ruined the Top Prospect!" Fenix Oscuro <Pay very close attention, Eri, because I only intend to say this once. You'll be watching tonight as I dismantle your little sister in front of your eyes. That is, if Sophia Moretti doesn't choke you out again. Family is oh, so important to you... but what about the people you call your friends? One in particular... one that you seem to have turned away from, a bit, hmm? You think you're ABOVE what Crystal went towards. You think you're better than she is, don't you? Someone who won't go to the lengths that she would. But I know you better than that. I know what lurks deep down, Eri, I know who you really are. All it would take... is just a little push, and you'd become something even WORSE than Crystal Brookes, or your dear little brother, or the Kintelas family you despise so much. Or even me... because you're living a lie.
There was something you told me the day before you left to go back home. Or perhaps you were going to Japan. I forget which, honestly, but your words stuck in my mind: "You will never be half the wrestler I am. But go ahead and keep trying." You gave me that smirk of yours and turned your back... but now you see where I am, compared to you. Do you know who I am, yet? Do you understand who you're dealing with? Or do you still fail to understand?>
Oscuro shifts in place for a moment, slowly calming again after what had turned into a near-tirade against her hated rival... and when she speaks again, it's a low whisper, and in English rather than Spanish. "Once I've broken Kaelara, I'm coming for you. I'd destroy your mother as well, but it seems Miss Kirison did that for me. Maybe she never returns again. Maybe your dear mother was forced into retirement in one swift, brutal night. But rest assured that if she ever makes another appearance here... I won't hesitate to break her myself and FORCE her to retire. And you'll watch as everything you've ever loved burns to ashes... NEVER to rise again."

I am a consummate professional that certainly didn't make multiple mistakes during this show. No, no mistakes at all. Mercy Devine to retain the Women's Championshiphttps://i.imgur.com/MmL7cdb.png Write-ups Dragon's struggles continue as she falls to one half of the tag team champions. Submissions remain Dragon's greatest weakness, and although she endured Xiu's STF for a while, she was forced to tap out... can the once-dominant force make a comeback? As strong as Rachel looked in the early parts of this match, the former Women's Champion that is Haruka Matsura quickly pulled away with her usual guile, keeping Rachel disoriented and eventually landing a big Death From Above to finish it out. A quick blast of mist to Rachel's face, and a sharp dropkick flooring the redhead, and Haruka left the debuting star writhing on the mat, her Showdown debut spoiled by the cruel kunoichi. Eri's head didn't seem to be in this one. Perhaps Oscuro's threats are finally getting to the young superstar, perhaps Sophia was on top of her game... perhaps it's a combination of both, but Eri was utterly wiped out in this match, a huge Brainbuster laying the Little Phoenix out in yet another defeat to the Italian Monster. (No seriously I'm an idiot that got distracted with "CHANGE BLAKE'S HAIR NOW" and forgot to screenshot the result.) Telan was a wrecking ball, at any rate. This was a rough one, and Blake couldn't get it out of first gear the whole time. Blake's agreed to change up his look... we'll find out what that look might be likely next week against Todd Colton. The unusual team-up of Victor and Kileas seemed to spark something in the young man... maybe it was the antics of their opponents, maybe it was a threat towards his father, but Victor pulled out all the stops in this match, mostly on Besos. It was Kileas, though, that'd pick up the win... though not before Rey de la Carne got his licks in, scoring at least a partial victory over the Alpha Villain. Kaelara fought valiantly in this one, but Oscuro would not be denied. The luchadora absolutely tanked through every bit of offense that Kae threw at her, and a huge rana in the center of the ring spelled the end for the youngest Sentarl. Not content with that, however, Oscuro continued her attack, opening up with her signature Phoenixplex, and continuing to assault Kae until she was pulled away by referee Jon Holt... though the damage was done. Pure, absolute domination. Anahera has never looked stronger than she did right here, and now one has to wonder if her rumblings about challenging for the World Championship aren't just blowing smoke... could Anahera be the one to dethrone Urani? A solid effort by the Blondes here, but Firehawk and Ril continue their undefeated streak, Ril snapping Elise up in a solid rollup pin while Firehawk cut off the save. The Rising Storm has a challenger on the horizon... there can be no doubt anymore. A potential candidate for Match of the Night, this one was an all-out brawl to the finish. Lance threw everything he had at Binak and came closer than anyone ever has to beating him... a Demonkiller very nearly becoming the Giantkiller. But a second attempt at the move was met with Binak's weight crashing down on the Texan... and Lance had nothing left in the tank to kick out. The giant escapes with a win... but it took nearly everything he had. This was a statement. Make no mistake, Urani Whitemist took everything that Tasharun had and continued to stand back up without any hesitation. Not only did she win this match in near-overwhelming fashion, she forced Tasharun to admit defeat in the midst of a Camel Clutch. Is there anyone, ANYONE that can stop Urani Whitemist now? Can anyone end what may be turning into the most dominant championship reign in Phoenix Rising history? Mercy gave this one her all. She dipped into every dirty trick in the book, gave Alex all she could take... but not enough. Alex's raw power and resilience won the day here, and stopped the debuting psychopath from claiming gold in her first match on Showdown. Alex seems poised to make a solid run with the title... but can she match what Shiana did? Urani Whitemist "There will be no tyrannical, demonic reign over Phoenix Rising. There will be no holding this championship hostage, no need for a hero to rise up against you... because I've already swept you aside, Tasharun. It's another setback on your supposed path to glory, another defeat that shows you just how vulnerable you really are. You're not the dominant monster around here anymore. There are bigger, badder, stronger than you... and so long as I hold this title, you will NEVER claim it again. Do yourself a favor, and appreciate what you were given until now. It'd be better for you and your career." Alexandria Kirison "I'm not gonna beat around the bush here. Mercy, you're a violent, crazy bitch, and you're one hell of a fight. But you got a taste of what it's like at the top tonight, and right now, you don't have what it takes to stand at my level. But you'll be there... sooner or later. I know that much. I know your type too damn well by now. Hotheaded, wants everything because you believe you deserve it right away. Because I was you, early in my career, kid. Keep it up. Show that same fire in the ring that you showed against me. And someday... come back and claim this for yourself." Fenix Oscuro and Eri Sentarl It's the scene from directly after Oscuro's match with Kaelara, and with a number of doctors and other officials in Eri's wake, the young woman is storming towards Oscuro as she retreats from the ring, having sent her message. "What the hell do you want from me?! What gives you the RIGHT to do something like this? All because of the way I acted when I was a stupid kid?"
"I would argue you never grew out of it, Eri." Oscuro's tone is... matter-of-fact, in sharp contrast to Eri's furious, shaking voice. "Look at you, though... I didn't think you had this fire in you, still. That's the anger I remember from Mexico... every time someone stole your spotlight."
"Shut UP!" Eri lunges at Oscuro, only to be held back by the officials behind her. "You're right about one thing, I know EXACTLY who you are, I know EXACTLY why you're so jealous and hateful, and I'm going to make sure you PAY for what you did tonight! If she's hurt because of you I'll-"
"Please... if you had the guts to do something about it, you would've already done it long before tonight." Oscuro's voice drops to a low, menacing hiss. "Bark all you want, Eri. Yell, scream, hurl every threat you like at me. You'll get your chance to DO something next Showdown. But for now... why don't you listen to the people around you, and WALK AWAY."
Eri doesn't walk away. She wrenches herself free of the officials, and charges right up into Oscuro's face... everyone braces for an ugly scene, but Eri stops short, glaring into the masked woman's eyes, staring up at the slightly taller woman with her fists clenched tightly at her sides. She seems to murmur something to Oscuro, something the mics don't manage to pick up... but Oscuro nods in response, and can be heard saying something back, turning to leave... at least, until she pivots right back around and blasts Eri with a superkick, laying the Little Phoenix out, officials trying to restore order backstage as Oscuro stares down at her fallen rival. "Until we meet again, then..."

Oh, while I'm still thinking about it, Blake Dynamite's gonna be changing up his look slightly in the aftermath of the match with Telan. The change: This is still tentative. I'll see if I still like it tomorrow. Regardless, a change -will- be settled on, eventually. (this one looks wonky as shit at certain angles but ehhhhhhh)

Time to look ahead to next Monday. Yes, already. You know me, I like to be prepared ahead of time. Proving Ground Episode 18Pre-Show: Natasha Clover vs. Listalva Anne Heyward Pre-Show: Kevin Royce vs. Kyle Anderson Pre-Show: Cassie Rose vs. Allison Avery Amber Wright vs. Anna Bryant The Phantom Thief and Mascara Avispa vs. The Muscle Machines Ruthless Nicole Alger vs. Leona Sterling Kellaron Sentarl vs. Silver Hawk Kanjirin Tonorian vs. Argent Mallory Spaulding vs. Elly Blackwood Rin Ryusaki vs. Candace Monroe Blake Dynamite vs. Todd Colton for the Top Prospect title Natasha Clover's shocking defeat on the last episode has sent her straight back to square one. No longer the Inspire Champion, Natasha looks to re-focus herself in the face of defeat, and watching her former best friend going on to success on the main roster: but can she stay focused against the Cairo Cyclone?
Change of plans for the opener: Layla's got the Pan-African Tour to worry about, so she'll be sitting this one out. Listalva Anne Heyward takes her place, looking to bounce back and get herself back on track against the woman that took her Inspire Championship from her a few weeks ago...
The debut of the owner and founder of the Evergreen Wrestling Federation was technically at the 49th Parallel, but he now joins Proving Ground's roster as a proper member of Phoenix Rising, just a week after his protege's debut on Showdown. Kevin Royce is a powerhouse, no doubt, but he'll be hard-pressed against Kyle Anderson, who's looked much stronger as of late.
Cassie Rose hasn't looked sharp in her time on Proving Ground, but she hopes to get herself back on track... but she'll be taking on the Phoenix Rising star that went the furthest in the 49th Parallel in Allison Avery. Allison made it to the third round of the tournament, and scored a colossal upset over Mr. Moonsault... can Cassie measure up to that?
The debut of this young woman has been somewhat anticipated by a few who know her story. Amber Wright is the daughter of Winifred Wright and Kileas Kintelas... making her a half-sister to Victor and Laenara. She seems to evoke her mother in quite a lot of ways, but she's seemingly nowhere near the powerhouse that Winifred is... what will the young rookie do against fellow newcomer Anna Bryant?
The tag match delayed last episode happens this time around for sure, as the Phantom Thief and Mascara Avispa gear up to take on the Muscle Machines, for real this time. Not much else to say that wasn't said already last time around.
The final debut of the night, Leona Sterling follows Candace Monroe from MMA into wrestling, and has her sights set on Candace's tag team partner, Nicole Alger. The Limbtakers may be on a slight hiatus from tag action, but some believe it's only a matter of time before the team re-enters the discussion for the Proving Ground tag titles... first, though, they'll have to get through this show.
Kellaron Sentarl is in a foul mood. Pure Gold fell to Team Proving Ground last time around and lost their chance to represent Phoenix Rising in PWR's Heenan Classic... and Kellaron wants to take it out on the team that beat them. Considering Silver Hawk part of that unit, Kellaron's set his sights on the high-flying star and seems determined to start the night off right for his team.
Kanjirin Tonorian squares off with Proving Ground's other powerhouse in Argent... these two almost seemed to avoid each other in the 8-man tag match last week, but there won't be any running away this time. Expect this to be a vicious one.
Finally, the women of each team are set to step up against each other: Mallory Spaulding's brutal suplexes against Elly's impressive armwork and invincible resilience. This one's going to be a car crash of raw power.
Rin Ryusaki's first test as Inspire Champion comes against Candace Monroe, who's looked far more dangerous as of late. A win by Candace here could set the young Australian up for a huge opportunity: could she finally turn the corner and claim gold just mere weeks after Rin won the title?
Finally, the match that Todd Colton has been waiting for: earning this match almost a month ago, he finally gets his opportunity at Blake Dynamite, who's slipped in recent weeks and looks more vulnerable than ever. Blake is the only remaining inaugural singles champion in all of Phoenix Rising... but Todd could end his run here, with a repeat performance of his last face-off with Blake.
