With the reveal of a truly fantastic Evergreen ring (seriously, Will, thanks a -ton- for not only that one but the crappy, beat-up version too), the side-fed is starting to really take shape. I've just got to finish working on the last few edits for it, which pretty much amounts to Vincent and Zack Sheridan, and the Evergringo. The latter being a really, really dumb lucha white guy (I suspect he was probably named in-universe by Verde, and everyone just kinda rolled with it, but the name came from Hana originally.) The former, meanwhile, happen to be Blake Dynamite's younger brothers. Once those three are done I'll get to scheduling a legit Evergreen show. Probably a bit short compared to a Phoenix Rising show, obviously, but it'll involve more than the Evergreen 8, thanks to (again) Hana. ANYWAY. With all that said, I've got a Showdown card for you.
Pre-Show: Telan Kintelas vs. Kyle Anderson
Pre-Show: Eri Sentarl vs. Angel Leblanc
Pre-Show: Mercy Devine and Eternamente Verde vs. The Heyward Sisters
Shiana Sentarl vs. Haruka Matsura
Besos and Rey de la Carne vs. The Rising Storm
Blake Dynamite vs. Lance Marshall
Fenix Oscuro vs. Kaelara Sentarl
Firehawk Sentarl vs. Binak Tonorian
Rilantha De Nav vs. Winifred Wright
Tasharun vs. Urani Whitemist
The Black Dragon vs. Kantar
Telan Kintelas continues to be the man that goes anywhere, anytime, kicking off Showdown's pre-show after scoring a huge victory over Elly Blackwood on Proving Ground. This week, though, he'll be taking on Kyle Anderson, as the Baltimore native looks to keep his momentum rolling, and avenge his Team Proving Ground teammate in the process.
Eri Sentarl came out of Showdown #20 disappointed, falling to Fenix Oscuro in their first meeting... though, in the aftermath, appeared to get some manner of moral victory, at least. Now, this week, she'll have her sights on Angel Leblanc, trying to do what her mother did and bring down the arrogant Frenchwoman.
Mercy Devine and Eternamente Verde have always shared a penchant for violence, but they've never formed a team until now thanks to Evergreen mostly avoiding tag-team wrestling. All of that changes this week, as the psychotic pair gets ready to take on the Heyward Sisters, looking to keep themselves sharp ahead of a seemingly-guaranteed face-off with the Blades of Excellence.
Shiana Sentarl is back, and announced it in a big way at Showdown #20, taking down Angel Leblanc in a strong match. Now she sets her sights on tougher fare, in Angel's former Syndicate partner, Haruka Matsura. Does Shiana have what it takes to keep up, though? One thing that became very clear: Shiana is no longer the wild, high-flying star she once was...
Brother and sister finally get back to teaming up, but Rey de la Carne will have to live with the fact that he's facing a team of two women for the first time in Phoenix Rising! Indeed, the Rising Storm will be a tough test for Besos and Rey, as the former tag team champions once again continue their path to get back to the top.
Blake Dynamite makes his proper Showdown debut... this time as a member of the full roster, and he doesn't seem to be taking it easy as he takes that next step. Lance Marshall might be on the downswing, but Blake still won't have an easy time with the Texan powerhouse.
Fenix Oscuro seems poised to make good on her threats. With Eri beaten, even with the young woman's words echoing in her head, she steps into the ring with the youngest of the Sentarl family in Kaelara. Kae, for her part, comes off of an unsuccessful but valiant effort against Alexandria Kirison, failing to claim the Women's Championship but making a case for the future.
Firehawk Sentarl finally returns to singles action for the first time in a few weeks, but perhaps may wish he hadn't after this one. Binak Tonorian, aside from some minor mis-steps, has been utterly dominant... with only one loss since his return, coming at the hands of Tasharun, Firehawk will have to be at the top of his game to take down the giant.
Rilantha De Nav makes her return to the women's division this week, and sets her sights on the toughest of the bunch. Winifred Wright has managed to hold up well, despite the constant setbacks, and one guarantee that can be made here: this one's going to be tough for both sides.
The former World Champion makes her first appearance since losing the title to the Black Dragon... and Urani doesn't seem to be hesitating to take on the best of the best once again. Tasharun sees an opportunity to avenge a loss against one of the few people to have beaten him cleanly, while Urani seems intent on cementing her legacy as one of the few capable of handling the demon on any given night.
The Black Dragon, the new World Champion, also seems prepared to cement a legacy... taking on Tasharun's partner in crime, Kantar, she'll be aiming to ensure that her victory was no fluke. Now that she's claimed the title she wanted so badly, the Dragon won't be overly eager to lose it anytime soon...

Ahead of Showdown this week, Evergreen held a small event: something of a "preview". A few exhibition matches (and by a few, I mean, a -lot- that Evergreen did both live and pre-recorded on other nights), culminating in a match that had everything on the line: the newly-minted Evergreen Championship. Eight members of the Evergreen roster entered the ring, but only one could stand tall as the fed's first champion... Veronika Armstrong stands alone in the ring... the small crowd has left, the disappointed losers all having made their way to the back, even a bloody Kevin Royce. All that remains is the new champion, and the camera she speaks into. "Must be tough, Kevin, seeing the one person you didn't want holding this belt... having it resting on my shoulder. I know you can't stand me, Kevin, I know you wanted literally ANYONE else to have this title, to be the one repping your fledgling company, to stand at the very top. But you just keep getting too damn greedy, you can't help but screw yourself. If you wanted to keep me away from this championship, you were gonna have to keep me out of the ring altogether, not even give me the chance. But you didn't have much choice, huh?
You can hate me all you want, Kevin, but I don't really care what you've got against me. Tonight, in this ring, I outlasted everyone. I watched Mercy go down early, I watched Verde nearly go through the mat, I watched you knock Evergringo senseless... and then I saw my chance, and I -took- it. Because I've got a future here. I've got a future in Phoenix Rising. And no matter how much you can't stand that I'm now at the very top, no matter how much you hate me, no matter how pissed off you are that you fell just that little bit short... I'm not turning my back on Evergreen. I'm not walking away for bigger and brighter things. Because I remember the day we met, and I remember how excited you were.
You can try to forget the past all you want, Kevin. You can try to bury me, try to keep me down, try to end my career... but this is where I belong. In Evergreen, as the best in the Northwest. You ever want to take another shot at this... you know where to find me."
Veronika holds up her newly-won championship, and the feed goes dark.

I'll admit I'm not overly proud of this week's show. Just gonna speed through most of this. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/335264033Youtube: youtu.be/oI2HQK2rdPwQuick Results Kyle Anderson def. Telan Kintelas Eri Sentarl def. Angel Leblanc Strawberry Sookie (Mercy's replacement) and Eternamente Verde def. The Heyward Sisters
Haruka Matsura def. Shiana Sentarl The Rising Storm def. Besos and Rey de la Carne Lance Marshall def. Blake Dynamite Kaelara Sentarl def. Fenix Oscuro Binak Tonorian def. Firehawk Sentarl Rilantha De Nav def. Winifred Wright Tasharun def. Urani Whitemist Kantar def. The Black Dragon Write-ups Baltimore's best keeps rolling along, picking up a major win over a tough-looking Telan Kintelas. Kyle's on a roll, and for once, nothing's stood in his way... how long can this one last? Eri kept the pace hot, despite running into a counter rana-bomb as the first move of the match... she kept things moving, though, and when Angel went for her own rana, Eri proceeded to fire back with the same counter that had opened the match, scoring a big victory. With Mercy already having taken part in a vicious 3-way brawl in AAW earlier in the night, it was decided that she'd be best not taking part in this match... so the call went out to occasional Evergreen guest, Strawberry Sookie. But it was Verde that really stepped up in this one, although some crossed wires meant that no interference from tag partners was allowed by pre-show referee Mizuki Kita. (Actual reason: the tornado tag sims from Saturday night turned off cut play somehow. Derp!) Haruka Matsura did her homework for this match. Every major move that Shiana had to throw at her, Haruka was able to either kick out of, or slip past... never letting the veteran star get off a single superkick, before she landed Death From Above to pick up a huge upset victory. A ninja is always prepared... A very solid showing from the children of Mega Meat, with Rey de la Carne unable to rely on his usual antics... he doesn't do that sort of thing to women, and against the Rising Storm, he had little choice! But Besos tried her best to pick up the slack, managing at one point to lock BESOS BESOS BESOS on Anahera... but it was Xiu Mei Li that would come away with the win, locking Rey in her signature STF, and finishing the job for the premier tag team in Phoenix Rising once again. This match did happen once before, with similar results. Perhaps Blake needs to come at this from another angle, but he may have other matters on his mind tonight... Was Fenix Oscuro's head in the right place tonight? Or was Kae just that much better than her older sister? Kae was an absolute dynamo in this one, never letting up on the woman with a vendetta against Eri, and rather than take her out with the Kae Buster, she settled for the Rainbow Bridge, picking up a huge win and throwing a wrench into Oscuro's plans. Probably one of the better showings anyone's had against Binak (save the wild brawl with Lance, and the unusual defeat against Tasharun). Still, Binak wasn't going to go down here, and brought down Firehawk almost as a reminder that his singles career may be essentially done. Just a fantastic match between two of the best veterans in the Women's Division. Ril seemed to have more of that veteran's guile, however, and despite Winifred bringing her power to bear, and trying to work Ril's legs to near-uselessness, Ril would snap her up in a quick flash pin and score the first victory in her return to the division. Tasharun manages to avenge a major loss a few weeks ago, defeating the former champion... but he didn't seem satisfied at the end of the night. And this match seems to be Tasharun's reason for being annoyed: being upstaged by the man who follows him. Kantar picks up a massive upset, much to the dismay of many... but it would seem this won't be leading to a title shot. Tasharun and Kantar "You'd best know your place." Tasharun looms over Kantar, clearly in a foul mood despite beating Urani earlier in the night. "You know better, after all these years."
"Right, because you couldn't beat her yourself, now nobody's allowed to?" Kantar snaps right back... Tasharun recoils slightly, surprise briefly flashing over his face. "Every damn time Argent or I would get something going, you'd fucking cut our legs out from under us. We're never gonna get anywhere if you keep that shit up, and you know it! I'm not saying I don't -get- it, I'm just saying-"
"Enough." Tasharun's voice is cold, menacing, and Kantar goes silent, though there's still a bit of fire in his eyes. "Then let's see if you can prove yourself in some way. You'll face Urani yourself. And then we'll see if you can back up this sudden... arrogance. No doubt Evergreen would be responsible for that."
"Damn right they are..." Kantar growls softly. "Turns out it's pretty damn easy to feel like you're getting somewhere when nobody's holding you back. I'll take her out, and then you'll finally get it, 'boss'." Blake Dynamite Blake doesn't say a word in the locker room, an ice pack on his forehead, another on his back. Finally, he does speak up, shrugging. "Well, tell you that much, that's not the debut I was looking for. Should've guessed it was a bad idea, though, from the start. Not the way to get things rolling. I'll be back next time with something a bit more my own speed-" He blinks, trailing off as the camera pans over to reveal a young woman... sporting gear that looks remarkably like Blake's own.
"U-um, hi, I couldn't wait for next week so I came back this week to find you, I watched the match and it didn't go the way I hoped but you're the best and I know you can-"
"Whoa, whoa, slow down." Blake, confused, rises to his feet... the young woman is practically bouncing with glee. "You must be... one of the new Proving Ground signees?"
"Yep, that's me! Jessika Boom! Your biggest fan, for sure! I've seen every match you've been in from the start, I know almost all your moves, too!"
"That's... you're, uh, definitely enthusiastic about this." Blake runs a hand through his hair, clearly caught off guard. "All right, so you're..."
"I'm getting to debut next week, so I wanted to come find you and maybe get some advice, or or OR I could learn how to do that big moonsault you do, I haven't figured it out yet-"
"Right, right, look... take it easy. Tell you what, though, meet me here tomorrow morning... and I'll see what you've got. Sound good?"
"You got it!" Jessika grins, and scurries off, leaving Blake looking quite confused at the whole situation. Fenix Oscuro Oscuro sits with her face in the shadows, her mask sitting on a table nearby. When she speaks, it's in venomous Spanish. <What have you done to me, Eri? Your words have cut deeply, and I can't stop thinking about it. Telling me that I've become what you used to be... you're a liar, like always! You're trying to get into my head, trying to find any way to stop me from destroying your life, because you couldn't do it in the ring... you're looking for any excuse you can get to stop me in my tracks. There is no reason I should've lost to your little sister, and yet... because you've done what you've done, I couldn't focus, I couldn't BREAK the little bitch. It should've been so easy... but she didn't even win with her own move. Kaelara... your time will come, I'll see to that, but clearly your sister still needs to be taught a lesson. You and I are going to face each other again, Eri... and I won't hesitate to truly break you, this time.>

I thought the show was good, just had some unexpected victories. Every attempt Fenix takes to break the Sentarls seems to instead reflect and dismantle her sanity that much more...
Jessika Boom is going to be a fan favorite, mark my words.
The Red and Black crew certainly had a nice night, didn't they? Binak took one heck of a fight from FH, Tasharun had one of the biggest wins of his career, and Kantar has gotten off to a huge start to his Phoenix Rising run.

Well, the last show went more or less nothing like what I'd hoped (there were some good highlights at least, it wasn't a total disaster :P) but now I've got Proving Ground to think about. Also, I'm thinking the first Evergreen show -might- take place on November 29th: I figure a Thursday when Will's SHTCW:a is on an off-week is a good time to go for it, but we'll see what happens. Anyway! Proving Ground #22! Pre-Show: Sung Moon vs. Eternamente Verde
Pre-Show: Elly Blackwood vs. Todd Colton
Pre-Show: Felice Santana vs. Emma Travers
Jessika Boom vs. Amber Wright
Mascara Avispa vs. Rey de la Carne (#1 Contender match)
The Limbtakers vs. The Excellent Blades
Kevin Royce vs. Hugo Dirksen
Layla Al-Amin vs. Allison Avery
Victor and Kellaron vs. The Muscle Machines
Cassie Rose vs. Veronika Armstrong
Silver Hawk vs. Kyle Anderson
A note before we go into match previews: due to her actions last week, attacking Katherine White backstage and taking the young rookie out of action for a month (Katherine will miss Proving Ground 22 and 23), Natasha Clover has been suspended for the same length of time. Reportedly, the Devil Hand isn't exactly happy about this turn of events. Eternamente Verde has made quite the impact since her debut last Proving Ground, and while she didn't win her debut match, she was beyond impressive on Showdown's pre-show. Now, against Sung Moon, she'll look to hold that momentum, as her popularity seems to be on the rise very quickly already. Elly Blackwood hasn't exactly looked "invincible" as of late, so she'll try to re-focus here against Todd Colton, who's been very up and down as of late. Elly might have a tougher battle than most would think, but she's proven a match for nearly everyone on the roster in the past... if she's able to bring her best, this shouldn't be a tough match. Felice Santana, after some time away from Phoenix Rising, made her presence felt again last week against Anna Bryant... and while she didn't win against the Boise rookie, she made it a wild affair, a quick sprint of a match. Emma, meanwhile, is coming off of a shocking victory over Sung Moon, with some wondering if Emma's strategy of constant flash pins might just be starting to work out. We don't know a lot about Jessika Boom yet. She made a brief appearance after Showdown, meeting up with Blake Dynamite, who seems to be her idol, and claims to know his in-ring style better than anyone. She'll get a chance to show her stuff against fellow rookie Amber Wright, and Blake's sure to be keeping an eye on the hyperactive fangirl. With both men holding a recent win over Top Prospect Silver Hawk, Mascara Avispa and Rey de la Carne will face off to decide who gets the shot at the championship. Avispa's been one of Proving Ground's best since he came to the company, but Rey has been quite the showman from day one as well... and while his tag career continues on Showdown, it would seem he's been added to Proving Ground's singles roster, as well. The Limbtakers are back in action this week. Candace Monroe continues to claim she could've easily taken the match last week, but still understands the need for caution... especially given it isn't the first time she's suffered arm injuries. The Excellent Blades will prove a difficult test for the fan favorites, but with Candace and RNA back together in the ring, Nicole Blade and Donna Nobel will have little time to shake off the rust from their last appearance as a team. Hugo Dirksen finally makes his debut, and it won't be an easy one, as he takes on the big boss of Evergreen in Kevin Royce. The Dutchman will have his hands full with the man that's quickly becoming Proving Ground's premier powerhouse, and Royce seems determined not to let anyone stand in his way... his goal is clear, he wants Evergreen to make a major statement in Phoenix Rising. Although Layla Al-Amin beat Inspire Champion Cassie Rose last week, the inevitable championship match is being put off just a little bit longer. Layla, in the meantime, takes on Allison Avery... and with the Cairo Cyclone coming off of maybe the biggest win of her career so far, does Allison have what it takes to slow her down? While Victor and Kellaron didn't manage to win their debut match, there was a lot to be happy about with their first showing as a team. They'll square off against the Muscle Machines this week, a team that's had quite the run as of late. A win here by the Machines could mean a match with Pure Gold before too long. Cassie Rose looked shaken up after losing her first match as Inspire Champion, but she can't lose focus now: not against fellow champion Veronika Armstrong, who became Evergreen Champion over the weekend. Two of the hardest-hitting women in Phoenix Rising square off in the co-main event. Top Prospect Silver Hawk may have dropped his match against Avispa last week, but he looked like a champion regardless, giving him a far better match than in the past. But here against Kyle Anderson, he's going to have to be at the top of his game, as the Baltimore native has been on the roll of a lifetime lately, and seems more than prepared to set his sights at the very top of Proving Ground. Cassie Rose "Layla's friggin' great, ain't no doubt about that. I was all for givin' her the shot this week, but management wants t' hold off one more show for any title challenges, y'see. Can't do a whole lot about it, but I'm lookin' forward to takin' her on soon.
So that brings me t' Veronika. What a woman she is, winnin' that battle royal over the weekend, becomin' Evergreen's champ, makin' this faceoff champion to champion. Veronika's as tough as they come, I've been watchin' from the day she showed up, and I'm damn sure lookin' forward to this one... we're gonna tear the house down, ain't no doubt.
Also, I think I gotta talk about... ugh, do I really gotta say it? Everyone talkin' about the relationship between Lance and me? Yer all sick, come on. Brother and sister, nothin' more than that, quit bein' gross." Cassie shudders, and walks away without another word.

Allison Avery Victor and Kellaron def. The Muscle Machines Cassie Rose def. Veronika Armstrong Silver Hawk def. Kyle Anderson Write-ups Sung Moon turned it up tonight in the opener, despite getting cut open mid-way by Verde's favorite fork. Ignoring the blood, the Korean rookie nailed Verde with a sharp knee that sealed the match, and gave us another Spinaroonie for good measure. Nothing short of pure dominance as Elly looked like her old self again, dismantling Todd without breaking a sweat. This could be the start of her return towards the top of the card. Emma did her best to keep pace with Felice, but as always, the young Santana didn't let up for a second, finally nailing a Santana Sky for a decisive win. There was a lot to be proud of for Jessika's debut match, though she fell short against fellow rookie Amber Wright. We got a solid glimpse of Jessika's potential, the young woman clearly agile and talented... and with some further polish, she could be a big part of the women's division in the near future. Amber, however, showed some veteran instincts as she snapped up Jessika in a quick flash pin, and picked up the win. Don't let anyone tell you that Rey de la Carne is a joke... this match proves that, despite his wild antics, there's a serious competitor beneath that huge grin. While he'd pick up the win, and the title match with Silver Hawk, with his Especial, he got to that point with a much more focused offense... almost as if to prove he could do it. Candace's return to the ring after the mishap two weeks ago was a VERY successful one, indeed. Stepping in against the Excellent Blades, she didn't step in quite as much as her partner, but when she did enter the ring, she made an impact. Almost as if to rub their face in it, she nailed Nicole Blade with her signature Gotch-style piledriver, and pinned Blade in her own corner... and Donna Nobel did nothing to make the save, to the confusion of many. Candace, however, has her suspicions, as she was eager to point out... In quite possibly the most impressive debut in Phoenix Rising history, Hugo Dirksen made a huge impact on his first night against Kevin Royce. The Dutchman showed off his skills, focusing in on suplexes and working Royce's arms... but it was the finishing blow that made the biggest statement of all, a HUGE double-arm suplex off the top turnbuckle, giving Hugo the win in his debut appearance. Layla Al-Amin continues her impressive run with an absolutely blistering match against Allison Avery, picking up a major win as she seemed to simply overwhelm Allison with her agility and speed. Layla now sets her sights back on Cassie Rose... she'll get a shot at the Inspire Championship in two weeks. We saw the first signs that this team was going to work out last time... and now, we see what Kellaron and Victor can do. A wild back-and-forth with the Muscle Machines saw Victor Kintelas show off unreal strength in performing Gary Gear's own finisher against him, and Kellaron nearly kicking Avery Alexander's head off to finish the match, and pick up a much-needed win. It was the Inspire Champion against the newly-crowned Evergreen Champion, and in this case, the Inspire Champion would win out. Veronika did her best to keep the cowgirl down, but Cassie would not give in for anything, and managed to score a shocking submission victory, giving her some important momentum going into her championship defense against Layla Al-Amin in two weeks. Kyle's winning streak comes to an end here, and his hopes of also challenging for the Top Prospect title come crashing down. Silver Hawk looked every bit the champion tonight, and now re-focuses to defend his title against Rey de la Carne in two weeks... can he avenge his prior defeat? Candace Monroe "Nothing's gonna keep me away now. Nobody to tell me I can't go out there and do my thing, and that's how it went, with the Limbtakers in the win column again. I know why Donna Nobel didn't step back into the ring at the end. I know what it was. When I had you in the middle of the ring, landing those knees, cracking you open... you backed off, you didn't want anything to do with me anymore. So I'll tell you one thing for sure: you ever want to prove me wrong, I'll take you one-on-one any day." Jessika Boom "Not... really what I was hoping for. Everyone wants to win their debut match, and of course I wanted to. I wanted to show Blake that I could do the same thing he could. That I could be as awesome as he is. But I got caught... Amber's really tough. But I'm not gonna let my hero down again. Next time you see me, I'm gonna win, no matter who's on the other side of that ring."

Showdown next week will hash out a little something like this. Pre-Show: Rachel White vs. Angel Leblanc
Pre-Show: Telan Kintelas vs. Kevin Royce
Pre-Show: Mercy Devine vs. Eri Sentarl
Blake Dynamite vs. Rey de la Carne
Fenix Oscuro vs. Shiana Sentarl
Firehawk Sentarl and Rilantha De Nav vs. Pure Gold (Champion vs. Champion)
Kaelara Sentarl vs. Haruka Matsura
Lance Marshall vs. Tasharun vs. Binak Tonorian
The SFG (Laenara/Dragon) vs. Kileas Kintelas and Winifred Wright (#1 Contender's)
Alexandria Kirison vs. Xiu Mei Li for the Phoenix Rising Women's Championship
Urani Whitemist vs. Kantar
Rachel White attempts to get back on track on the main roster, though with how dangerous Angel Leblanc can be, this won't be an easy task. Rachel will need to be focused if she wants to pull herself back up.
Telan Kintelas appears to be undergoing some changes over time, and he seems primed to break out in a big way against Kevin Royce... while he lost to Kyle Anderson last Showdown, he's made a claim that this week is the night everything changes, and he reminds the world who he is.
Mercy Devine, even when she hasn't been winning matches, has been a devastating force in the ring since her promotion to Showdown. She now sets her sights on the struggling Eri Sentarl, who will have to take her mind off of Fenix Oscuro's continued attacks...
Blake Dynamite prepares to square off against the man that will be facing Silver Hawk for the Top Prospect title on the next Proving Ground. This may be the final singles match Rey has on Showdown for some time, as he prepares for his challenge, but Blake intends to win regardless.
Fenix Oscuro seems undaunted by her loss to Kaelara Sentarl last week. Instead of dwelling on that defeat, she now turns her attention to the Sentarl matriarch... but this may prove the toughest challenge yet for the Dark Phoenix, as Shiana isn't likely to take her threats towards Eri lightly.
With Pure Gold not being booked on the last two Proving Ground shows, there were some curious as to what was going on, and why they were absent... and this week seems to answer those questions, as the champions come to Showdown to take on the main roster tag champions in Firehawk and Rilantha. This one's sure to be a wild one, as the Proving Ground tag champs have looked beyond dominant since winning the titles.
Kaelara Sentarl has never looked better. Defeating her sister's greatest enemy, Fenix Oscuro, last week, she may be on the verge of finally getting the breakout she's been after, but she'll have to get through Haruka Matsura, who continues to prove a dangerous opponent week after week.
IT'S HOSS CITY THIS WEEK, BOYS
OK, OK. Lance Marshall, Tasharun, and Binak Tonorian, the three biggest, baddest men in Phoenix Rising, step into the ring to settle all of their differences... and everyone has something to prove. This match could mean a lot for the near future...
With the Black Dragon now holding two championships (one-half of the Blackrose tag titles, and the Phoenix Rising World Championship), her goals have yet to change... after all, what's a dragon without a hoard? Dragon's always been taken with gold, and if she can plow through Kileas and Winifred (with Laenara at her side, as always), her chances of becoming a triple champion could be higher than ever.
Xiu Mei Li defeated Alex on a house show recently... but it hasn't been until now that she's gotten the opportunity for the title shot, and Alex's reign may have never been in more danger than it is now. Still, this is certain to be one of the most hard-hitting matches in recent memory.
Kantar might have made a mistake last week when he took down the Dragon. Urani Whitemist apparently took great offense to the way her friend was treated, Kantar's attitude not helping matters... now Kantar will have to deal with the Titan, and may be more than he can handle.

The Future of Phoenix Rising?
In addition to Evergreen Wrestling slowly coming under the Phoenix Rising umbrella, there are rumblings out of Vancouver, British Columbia, of a new company preparing to open its doors, led by a two-woman team of Eve Blackwood (who most will recognize as the mother of Proving Ground's Elly Blackwood) and a newcomer to the business, German/Canadian Christina Wagner. Tentatively known as the Blackwood Academy, their stated goal is to guide a new generation of rookie women wrestlers towards the future, as well as helping those who perhaps need to set their career back on track. Eve has not been seen in active competition for some time, though she's apparently stepping back into the ring for the Academy, perhaps in an effort to start her career up again... some believing she might get into contact with the Texas Independent Pro Wrestling Federation to join in their Old Guard division, given that Eve is now in her 50s.
Little is known about Christina Wagner, but it is expected that she will make her first Phoenix Rising appearance in the near future.
Essentially, the Blackwood Academy will be what it looks like on paper: for the rising stars in women's wrestling to continue to make their name, and for the lesser-used members of the Phoenix Rising women's divisions to get a fair shake, for once. I have yet to fully settle on how this is going to work out, but as I figure out its future, I'll be sure to mention it here as well.
Unlike Evergreen, the Academy will be using existing edits that I've already made, so as soon as I've gotten all of the logistical crap done on it, I can get it up and running quickly. I'm not yet sure how I'll run it, but I imagine I'll probably do a lot of screenshotted shows, with the occasional live one.

Tonight, 7:30 Pacific. After this, it's Evergreen's debut on Thursday, and the build to the end of the year after that, along with the potential for the Academy to start up hopefully sometime in December.
There's a lot on the horizon, here.

Alexandria Kirison to become the NEW Phoenix Rising Women's Champion! Write-ups This match may have been an omen for how the rest of the night was going to play out. Rachel came out of the gates with more ferocity and a cruel streak that could remind some of her former best friend... after blasting Angel's face open with a series of knees, she absolutely dismantled the Frenchwoman, and came away with her first Showdown victory. But is this the same Rachel we've seen before? An impressive win for Telan Kintelas, though nobody seemed overly pleased with his choice of attire... including himself. He'll likely go back to the drawing board on this one... but the gameplan, meanwhile, was more than sound, dispatching Kevin Royce in impressive fashion. Eri seemed utterly unprepared for what she was going to get in this match. Mercy was ruthless tonight, eager to grab her familiar fork, watching Eri's blood spill as she planted the Little Phoenix with multiple tombstone piledrivers, picking up a major victory. In what's likely to be Rey's last singles appearance on Showdown for a while, the would-be Top Prospect took on the former Top Prospect, one week ahead of his scheduled match with Silver Hawk. Blake, though, was more than prepared... and after a hard-fought match, picked up the win, much to the (almost certain) delight of his biggest fan. Oscuro appeared to be in a foul mood tonight. While Shiana got off to a strong start, Oscuro quickly turned the pressure up on her, and worked the veteran over badly, twisting her every which way until Shiana was forced to submit. One thing seems clear: Shiana may very well have a clear, glaring weakness since returning to Phoenix Rising. Every bit as hard-fought as a Champion vs. Champion match ought to be, but in the end, it seemed fairly clear that the Showdown champs were the better team... although, this didn't stop Pure Gold from giving the undefeated duo a number of close calls. Firehawk and Ril come away with a close victory, but Pure Gold reminded the world that they are still one of the most intimidating teams in Phoenix Rising, no matter what show they're on. It seems like the only person who could stop Kaelara Sentarl was the champ herself. Kae was dynamite here, though there was a very strange moment where she somehow managed to pull off Haruka's Death From Above... nobody's entirely certain HOW she was able to do this, and Kae has yet to tell anyone about it herself. Still, a very, very impressive win for the young Sentarl. Binak was the first one eliminated, Tasharun spearing the giant almost right out of his boots... and despite Lance landing multiple Demonkillers, the move couldn't quite live up to its name tonight before Tasharun came back with a huge chokeslam, and ended this 3-way in dominant fashion. The Demon may be on his way back to the top. The SFG did their best to stay ahead, but Winifred Wright had other ideas. Setting Dragon up for the Bridge of Perfection, she slammed the World Champion down hard, and seemed to spike Dragon on her head. The match ended right then and there, with Kileas and Winifred now having another shot at Firehawk and Ril, all while Dragon was helped to the back, with the hopes that she's not badly injured. Urani definitely didn't seem to be in a good mood tonight. With Dragon getting tossed around by Kantar last Showdown, and then getting injured just moments before this match, she was in no mood to deal with Kantar's shit... though she still had to work for the win here, watching him kick out of an Ushi-goroshi. Frustrated, Urani wrenched Kantar into a crushing bearhug, and picked up a vicious win, one that Kantar won't soon forget. Xiu Mei had already beaten Alex once, but it looked like the champion was on her way to defending her title, putting up an impressive effort against Xiu. Then the Chinese fighter locked the STF in tight... VERY tight. It wasn't clear at first what caused Alex to tap out so suddenly, but it would later be clear that Xiu giving a harder wrench on her neck proved decisive. Xiu wins the Women's Championship, and Alex now waits to find out how bad her injury is. Alexandria Kirison "Someone was bound to take it sooner or later... just would've preferred 'later'. I'd hoped to keep that title through the end of the year. But Xiu beat me, straight up, again. Felt something in my neck as she pulled back, and had to take the loss or wind up getting hurt worse. I don't think it's her fault. She'd already gotten me in that hold a couple of times, and gave that last one a bit more. They're saying it's not serious, but that I should still probably take some time off... so I think that's what I'm gonna do. I'll be back after the new year... and I can start in to work on getting that title back around my waist. I'm gonna have my sights set on you, Xiu... this isn't over." Xiu Mei Li "There's little to say. Alex might be hurt, and I regret letting it happen. I trust she'll recover, before long, and we'll meet again... but for the time being, I can't dwell on what's happened. This championship... I've spent too long without one around my waist, and while I'll admit I'm more fond of the tag titles and the Rising Storm, there is a certain thrill to becoming a champion only on my own skill, my own strength. I welcome anyone who thinks they have what it takes, to challenge me as soon as you're able. I intend to defend this title to the last." The Black Dragon "Y'know, they keep telling me I'm lucky. What is this, the third time something like this has happened? Starting to become a habit, and I can't keep it up. I can't let it keep happening, and dammit, I can't keep LOSING like this. I'm a World Champion, I shouldn't be looking like... this. Carried out of the ring, wondering if this time it's serious. Lucky me, it's not. This time. Something's got to change. I don't know what I have to do, but something's -going- to change. I'll be back at the end of the year. I'll be back to defend this title. And dammit... I'm not going to lose again. Not here, not now, not like this ever again. I fought with everything I had to win this title, I'm not going to fuck this up so soon..." To go over it, then: Alexandria Kirison suffered a minor injury in Xiu's STF, and while it's not serious, she will voluntarily be sitting out the rest of the year to ensure a full recovery. Meanwhile, Dragon's injury was also not serious, but doctors have pulled her from the next two Showdowns, only allowing her to wrestle on the end-of-the-year show (December 31st) to defend her title, though the recommendation is that she not do so at all. Still, she's stubborn as ever, and likely will feel close to 100% for that matchup, whatever it may be. Follow-up post incoming for the Evergreen show coming up on Thursday night.

Evergreen's Debut Show (Or just call it Episode 1)The Sheridan Brothers vs. eMo (Sookie/Eddy) Kevin Royce vs. Kantar Penelope Lea vs. Ash Defiant Babe Ruthless vs. Laenara Kintelas El Evergringo vs. Eternamente Verde Veronika Armstrong vs. Mercy Devine Some strong outside influence for this card, to fill things out a bit. The show itself is likely to be on the short side since Evergreen's roster is, of course, fairly small. Laenara Kintelas makes a guest appearance, and likely will be making sporadic appearances for the company in the future as well.
The Sheridan Brothers have been hyped up as something big for Evergreen: hailing from Anaheim, California, they're the younger brothers of one Blake Dynamite. They'll have an interesting test here, however, as they'll be taking on the team of Strawberry Sookie and Eddy Introspect, and that's certain to be a rough one.
Kantar and Kevin Royce have both made their presences felt on Phoenix Rising, but now they turn to each other for what will likely be a brawl and a half. Two powerhouse set to collide in a vicious, violent war.
It's a battle of outsiders as Penelope Lea and Ash Defiant square off. To be perfectly honest, I know less about these two than most edits I book, but I'd keep an eye out for Ash's infamous Lucky Gray Shirt... if she's wearing it, Penelope may want to watch her step.
Laenara Kintelas arrives in Evergreen to take on Babe Ruthless... and it's likely that the self-proclaimed "Hardcore Princess" will be eager to finally begin living up to that name, looking to make a big impact on her first night with the company.
El Evergringo is... an odd character. For one thing, he's white as they come... although his name would imply that. He also seems to have some strange attraction towards the other masked member of Evergreen, Eternamente Verde. Verde, however, has shown no signs that she even likes Evergringo... perhaps he can impress her in this match.
Evergreen Champion Veronika Armstrong continues her vicious feud with Mercy Devine. Nothing else could main event their first official show... and Veronika seems more than determined to show Mercy just how much worse the beating can get when it's coming from a champion.
