One more night to go before the blocks are decided, but we do already have some people locked in! Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/1955464154Youtube: youtu.be/FwBOdgkhjcwQuick Results Calista Vargas def. Demarcus Browning Harley Brooks def. Rey de la Carne to become the NEW Top Prospect Champion Bonus: Stardust Roulette (Samantha Steele and Sarah Silvers) def. Mew Thai (Mew Mew Muscle and Sunanda) Current Block Situations Block A: Kojiro leads the block with 7 points. Gabriela Gallego trails with 5, and Rod Washington has 4. Kojiro is guaranteed a spot in the final as a result. Everyone else (Todd, Eddy and Holly) are eliminated.
Block B: Jerome sits at the top with 6 points. Browning and Firehawk both have 5, and Kevin Royce has 4. Jerome and Browning face each other on Night 7, the winner is guaranteed a spot: if that winner is Jerome, then a win by Firehawk would put him in the final. For Royce to get into the final, Jerome must win, and Firehawk must lose.
Block C: The block is currently in a 6-way tie as every single wrestler is sitting at a 2-2 record. The winning three wrestlers on Night 7 will face off in a 3-way on Finals night: the first loser is out, the winner of the match gets the better seeding.
Block D: Rilantha De Nav and Kaito Arai have locked themselves in for the finals: Calista Vargas trails with four points, while the leaders have 7.

Blake Dynamite vs. Mascara Avispa for the Phoenix Rising World Championship
Tournament Final Blake Dynamite"People still know me as a man of few words. I've always been someone who let their actions speak, in the ring. Don't need a lot of flash outside of the big stuff, don't need to talk shit, because I've been here... literally... since day one. You look back all the way to the first days of Phoenix Rising. The second match ever, as a small history lesson. Things were a hell of a lot different back then, but I started to make my name right from the start.
I've gone through a lot. Fought for every single fucking inch I ever took. Got shuffled onto Proving Ground when it began, when it was intended as the show for those of us who weren't there yet. So I started from scratch. Fought my way to the top. Became the face of the blue show and made its name synonymous with mine for that early span. The first Top Prospect. I established that as a title for the best of the best. Where the World Championship was for the big names, the megastars, the flashiest and most dominant wrestlers on the planet... I established that the Top Prospect was built for guys who didn't know how to have a bad match.
Here's the thing. People are gonna talk shit about me on the subject of that 'workrate' comment, but you look back... you tell me one time I've ever looked bad in that ring, and you tell me how many people have knocked me off without a fight. It's not just about 'picking up star ratings', it's about letting the world know that I can do it all. Match of the night. Capture the hearts and minds of the crowd. Pick up the big win, and shut down the naysayers who think I'm not capable of taking that final step to the top.
That... finally... brings me to my... former tag team partner. Mascara Avispa. The reigning World Champion. The guy that's lit the spark that's gonna lead to the biggest explosion in Phoenix Rising history. You think you carried me through the Dynawasp reign? That without you, I'd be nothing? Remind me who's been here longer. Remind me who's been pinned more recently between us... spoiler, it's not me. Even discounting the fact you got beat in Sakura Pro, you still come up short! Our last ever match as a team... who was it getting pinned? Wasn't me. You have to look back to over a year ago to see my last defeat. I know what makes you tick, Avispa. I've seen it all. Watched every detail, from my side of the ring while we were partners, to the tape that's come out since. And no matter how good you are, how dangerous your moves are, how much potential you've got to score a career-ender...
All it takes is one... shot. One Double Moonsault, or one Dynamite Cutter, or one Volatile Arrow, and one of the most dominant World Championship reigns ever comes crashing down. I know the people wanna see you and Silver Hawk. But I'm betting on them wanting to see you taken down a peg for once even more. I'm coming for that title. The one accolade I'm still missing. The ONLY thing I've never quite accomplished.
That changes Monday night." HAYATO<Here we are again. What a difference a year makes, hm? One year ago, I made my way to the final night, fought my way to the very end of the road, and fell short to Veronika Armstrong. Now I have to fight just to have a chance of making it that far again. My path is tougher than anyone else's. More dangerous than anyone else's. All I have to do is not be taken down first... but no matter what, waiting for me in the quarterfinal will be an opponent more dangerous than any I faced last year. But I reached the final once... I will do it again. And this time... I will not be denied my prize.> Telan Kintelas"Don't fucking think I haven't forgotten what all this really means. I have to face this damn tiebreaker... simple, right? Just don't go down first. Fuck that. I'll win it, because guess whose smug fucking face is waiting for the one standing tall? That's right, the eternal enemy, the boss-man himself, Firehawk. See, Kileas was always The Guy when it came to you. More worthy of your attention. But see, he's done. He's called it quits. So I'm taking his place. I'll do what he couldn't and take you out. I'll do what he couldn't and win the whole fucking tournament. And I'll do what he couldn't... and wreck that piece of shit Avispa, once and for all." Kojiro Burai"Surprise. Our paths always seem destined to cross, don't they, Kaito? Sakura Pro, it happens more regularly than one would anticipate. And now, the 'rivalry' comes here, to my home grounds. I've got no intention of making it easy. But then, neither do you. I know that from all the times we've squared off already. I know how good you are. You know what I can do.
A quarterfinal it might be, but I suspect you and I will steal the show, as we always do." Gabriela Gallego"This has been my first experience in the Grand Ascension... and I must say, I find myself a bit... disappointed in my brother's showing. So I will carry the Gallego name forward, and rise to the top. The only issue, of course... lies in Rilantha De Nav. Some would call you one of the greatest technical wrestlers alive. I am not intimidated... not in the slightest. I will give you everything I've got... and show the world that the Gallegos do not back down... do not fall short." Rilantha De Nav"All eyes were on the heaviest hitters. Lance Marshall, Jerome Harris, Demarcus Browning, and yes... Firehawk Sentarl. Fine by me... it's allowed me to focus on myself. On my own block. A block that myself and Kaito Arai have dominated completely. Could be at the end of this, it'll be the two of us again. Could be, at the end, that Firehawk reaches the final to find me waiting there for him.
It could be that all eyes were turned elsewhere, when the biggest threat to the reign of Mascara Avispa has been standing right here, all along.
I've spent my time in Phoenix Rising being overlooked, and I'm fine with that. A partner, a challenger, a veteran gatekeeper for those wanting to rise to the top.
But after Monday night? I think my time of being overlooked comes to an end. I've been doing this a long, long time... but I'm far from finished. I have a World Championship to win." Firehawk Sentarl"Pressure's on. A fever pitch as we go to the finals, the weight of the world bearing down on me, watching, waiting to see whether this will finally be the time I can pull it off. I only hit the semifinals last year. Not gonna let it happen again. Not this time. People want to tell me I'm turning greedy, turning into the one thing I hate most... but that's not it. This isn't about snatching the glory for myself. It's about proving to myself that I can do this, one more time, before I decide it's done.
Maybe this is the one, maybe it's not. I have to pull three wins together in a row. No time limits, no cheap finishes, no special treatment or advantages... Just. Win.
All to step into the ring with whoever holds that World Championship at New Year's Bash. Whether that's Avispa, still terrorizing the field. Whether that's Blake Dynamite, exorcising this specter hanging over his head, something I can understand better than most. Or even whether it's Silver Hawk, rising up from the Pacific Northwest division to take a crack at the biggest prize we've got.
One more shot. Because this could be the last chance I ever get in the Grand Ascension. Come up short here, and I'll have to find another way. Another path. Because I won't enter again... this is it.
No pressure. Right?"

Vincent Sheridan demanded a match with Firehawk Sentarl
Firehawk Sentarl def. Vincent Sheridan, The Tip Top attacked 3-on-1 afterwards Backstage, after the show:Firehawk, battered and annoyed at the post-show attack by Avispa and the Sheridans, stood with his arms folded in the locker room, panting softly but seeming undaunted by the ambush. "Don't think I haven't forgotten what you were yelling on your way to the ring, Vincent. You want a match so badly? You got one, and you'll get another, next Showdown. You want the Sheridans to get what they 'deserve', yeah? You'll get it. A tag team match, the Sheridans up against the Grand Ascension champion, and runner-up. Myself, and Rilantha De Nav. We'll see how fucking cocky you are... call me 'old man' all you want, but you're going to be reminded of one important detail: when someone sticks around this long, there's a reason for it."
He let out a deep breath, a frustrated, annoyed look in his eyes as he turned his attention to... something else, shaking his head slightly. "There's something else, though, I need to think about. Something else that's been on my mind.
“Two weeks ago, I finally pulled it off. One of the biggest wins I’ve had since Phoenix Rising opened its doors. I finally won the Grand Ascension… should feel like the biggest accomplishment of my life. Like I’ve climbed the mountain for the first time in what feels like forever. Instead, I’m wondering to myself… was it worth it? Wondering if I’m about to..."
Another voice spoke up from off-camera. Firehawk lifted his head as she spoke. "Have the fans turn their backs on you?" Shiana Sentarl stood in the doorway, before entering the room, meeting her husband's gaze. "Sounds awfully familiar… but then, that’s exactly what happened to me, four years ago, after winning the first Grand Ascension. All because… I shouldn’t have won it. I wasn’t deserving. Laenara Kintelas was. The first seeds of Vindication were planted the moment I defeated her that night, October 28, 2019."
Firehawk shook his head. "This is different."
Shiana arched a brow, hands on her hips. "Is it? It’s the same feeling. The greatest accomplishment yet, but you’re the only one who believes it. I told you, back then, what the truth was. Almost a full year after those seeds were planted, I made you an offer. Told you that the future was coming, looking to cast us aside. I offered you a place in Vindication."
Firehawk sighed. "And I denied you. For the same reason I'd deny you now."
"I know. I’ve always known. You never would’ve taken the offer. Not then, not now. I wouldn’t bother making it this time, the moment is long gone. You’re not me… standing in my position, now, four years later, I know you won’t make the same decision I did. Because it’s simply not in your nature. But this constant need to play the hero is going to consume you. It’s going to destroy you, Firehawk. I didn’t make the offer that I did entirely out of malice... I didn’t want to see you continue to destroy yourself the same way you always have. Being the hero. The paragon." Shiana was quieter now, though no less firm with her words.
"If that’s the way things are going to be, then I’m not going to turn away from it. It’s who I’ve always been. I’m not sure I’m capable of being anything else." Firehawk shook his head once more, eyes firmly locked on Shiana by now. "You say it's about me playing the hero... some kind of paragon. I'm not sure that's it, Shiana... hell, I haven't felt particularly heroic lately, if I'm being honest. But I feel like time's running out. Even for someone who's not really lost a step that much... I can feel the clock ticking away. Maybe going for this whole thing by itself is, by itself... 'heroic' somehow? If you consider Avispa the 'villain'... but. Well, it's like I said. I don't know how to be anything else but who I am. Who and what I've always been."
Shiana measured him with a gaze that looked almost... critical? “I know. That’s why we ended up together in the first place. But this is going to wear you down… more than anything you’ve ever faced before. And Mascara Avispa is the kind of champion that’s going to use that against you. He's already ended one career, Firehawk." She folded her arms, and her voice became more firm. "You can’t take the high road every single time. Sooner or later, you’re going to get dragged down. It doesn’t matter how you think it’s going to go... I won’t tell you how to handle this. One way or the other, I don’t know whether you’re going to come out the other side of this the same." She took a deep breath. "I'll be watching, though. Always."
The two fell quiet for a few moments. "Shiana..." He spoke quietly, giving a thoughtful nod. "You've given me a lot to think about. You may be right, in a few ways. I have no intention of compromising who I am... but I think I know how I've got to deal with this whole thing. It starts with dealing with the Sheridans. And from there... Avispa." He gave a firm nod. "Hero... villain... I'm not sure it matters for this. Not anymore. Where the World Championship is concerned... well. Thoughts for another day. I have some plans in mind, but... there's too much to worry about first. I'll see you at home, OK?"
The two parted after a few moments, and the cameras faded out on a thoughtful Firehawk... brow furrowed, still considering just how to deal with the night's events... and the future.
