Oh boy oh boy do I have some promo work for you tonight. Zack Sheridan"Look what you're staring down. So what if it wasn't a 'perfect' shot through the block? I'm still the number-one, must-see, greatest fuckin' talent in the Grand Ascension... and you had better believe I'm going all the way to the end. Doesn't matter who I gotta go through... Veronika Armstrong? Please. The so-called 'Heart and Soul' of Evergreen... a fed that wouldn't know legitimate fucking wrestling if it slapped them in the face!
See, I've been disrespected from day one. I'm the guy that showed up knowing what I was doing. But right out of the gate, 'look at this cocky asshole, what a jackass', I've heard it all. You're not so quick to say it now, huh? Finally set to get the respect I fucking deserved from the start... and I don't want your damn Evergreen respect!
I don't give a single shit about what Evergreen stands for, or what its fans want. You don't deserve anything outta me. When I win this tournament, when I win the World Championship, it's not gonna be for Evergreen, or its fans, or any of that shit.
It's gonna be for ME, and I'll finally tell Evergreen exactly where they can shove it... screw you." Veronika Armstrong"Been a while since the last time I felt like I was on top. Sure, I won the Evergreen Championship again recently, but even that never felt right, as you could probably tell when I dropped it not long after. Shit happens.
This is different. I feel revitalized. Motivated. Ready to take on the world. And all I gotta do to take the first step towards the biggest shot of my life is push through Zack Sheridan.
He wants to bitch about how nobody respected him in Evergreen. Not the fans, not the guys, no one. You wanna know the truth about it? Attitude is everything. You and your idiot brother came in thinking you were gonna rule the place. No overhaul is gonna change that. You're better than you were, when it comes to standing in that ring, but your attitude's still shit, and I'm going to beat it out of you if I have to." HAYATO<Supposedly I'm not well-liked for making my way this far. Do you think it matters to me? Do you think I'm someone who cares that someone else dislikes my success? You can be jealous as much as you like... but the fact will remain, at the end of this road, that I will stand as the tournament winner, and soon, the World Champion. Nothing more needs to be said.> Concrete Pete"I didn't show up for this tournament just to get relegated back to the 'bonus' match again. Sure, I made a damn legend out of it a couple years back... but that's not what I wanna do this year. I'm here to win.
Goin' up against HAYATO... look, all the respect to ya', but you're not gettin' in my way. I got too much to look forward to, I'm not lettin' you stop me. World Championship would look reaaaaaaal good around this waist... even if they gotta extend the strap, heh. So bring it on... I'm ready to fuckin' FIGHT." Carmen Latour"There's a lot of pressure when you get this far. Especially when you've had trouble closing things out lately... but here I am, coming to the final, and I don't intend on coming up short this time. My sights are set at the top. I didn't show up to lose, to come away with anything less than the big win.
Simple way to do it... if I can't get a go at the Spirit of Texas Championship, then I'll set my sights on another huge opportunity... the Phoenix Rising World Championship. And then the Cajun Spitfire's gonna be on top of the world." Todd Colton"You all know by now. Fourth year running. Second time getting this far. A lot of road still to walk, through little miss Cajun, through... probably that fatass Pete, 'cause I'm expecting him to crush HAYATO like nothin... and you know who I think I'm facing at the end of this? Because mark my words, I will be in the grand final...
It's gonna be yet another fucking Sentarl.
Firehawk, I know damn well what's gonna happen. You'll charge through your side of things. I'll do the same on mine. You and I are gonna meet in the final, and things are gonna come away a whole lot different. You wanna know why?
Because you blew it. I didn't get my due for FOUR YEARS under your stupid banner, so I cut my losses and jumped ship to AFW... and now, NOW?! Now I'm gonna take away EVERYTHING from you. I'm gonna win this tournament, by beating you personally. I'm gonna win the World Championship, a title you refused to let me even lay eyes on for years despite knowing what you had on your hands. I'm going to take revenge on every single slight you've ever shot my way... the missed opportunities, the humiliation your fucking family seems to constantly insist on subjecting me to, and for what? Jealousy? Some twisted need for one of your kids to be the best there is, and to hell with everyone else?
I'm gonna kick your ass, Firehawk. I'm gonna go on the revenge tour of a lifetime. I'm gonna carry your precious World Championship down to AFW... not to lord it over you that some other fed's got your top belt, no no no. You think I care about taking that title for AFW and Lance's bullshit? No, I'm taking that title for MYSELF ALONE. The fact that I'll be on someone else's show while I do it is just the cherry on top.
You're gonna watch as the single greatest technician walking GOD'S GREEN EARTH takes everything you've built up over the past five years... and shatters it to pieces. Guaranteed." Eri Sentarl"This is the show I've been waiting for all year. Did I know it'd be this one in particular? No, of course not. But it is the one that I'm getting my chance at the Phoenix Rising tag titles... and who better to challenge for them than the Triad? I know Fenix Oscuro will be across from us in that ring, and I'm going to put an end to this twisted obsession you have with me. With Gabriela... she had a legitimate reason to hate me all those years. But you? All of this, taking her mask, her grudge, it's all jealousy. Jealousy of me, of her, of everything that we had that you didn't.
And after Monday night, Chichi and I are gonna have something else that you don't: the tag team championships. I've thrown away the idea of trying to reconcile, of trying to ask for forgiveness, because with you? I never ruined anything for you. So I'm going out there, not to try and bring you around like I did Gabriela... no, we're going out there to beat your asses, and become the tag team champions." Layla Al-Amin"It means a lot when you're the first challenger for a new champion. You're the one that sets the tone for their reign, whether you like it or not. The one that's going to go down... either as the one who knocked them down right away, or the first step on a champion's journey to the top.
And for Mascara Avispa, a man I truly respect as a wrestler, I don't like the idea of being either. But one way or another, one of us is going to walk away the World Champion, and I like the idea of holding that belt a lot more than the idea of winding up on my back. So I'll give it my all, Avispa. Everything that I have, and at the end of the night...
One of us will have taken a major step towards earning the respect we're due." Firehawk Sentarl"One last night to settle it all. One more push to the final. What more is there to be said? I've stared down these sorts of nights more times than I can remember, but over the last five years, it's been tougher and tougher to rise to the occasion. This year, this tournament, though...
It's felt different. Suddenly, I feel like there's not a single force on this earth that can stop me. Suddenly, I feel like I'm at my best again. Could be a fluke. Could be I'm just getting lucky out there. Could be a total rebirth.
What I'm thinking, though... is in the back of my head, I know that there may not be too many more chances like this in my career. That I may not be able to take another shot before I either make the decision to call it quits... or my body does. Do I think this tournament is my last chance at the top? Not exactly... but there's always that thought, lingering just beneath the surface:
'What if it is?'
So I'm done with restraint. Done with being content in the background. Done with worrying about appearances. Nobody can say I haven't earned my way to get this far.
Just one final push. It starts with Victoria Frey... who I've been more than impressed with so far.
Past her... anything could happen. And if it really is Todd Colton waiting at the end of this thing like he seems to insist...
Todd, you'd better pray that I'm not the man waiting at the final, because I will remind you exactly who I am, and no matter how much you've improved over these years... you're not on my level. Talk as much shit as you want... but the long, winding road to the top isn't for the faint of heart, and if you lack in conviction for even a second... I will end your ambition in a heartbeat."

It is a big, big night coming up on Thursday for everyone's favorite sporadic oddball fed: Valkyrie Pro is back for more, and just to make things special, after eight episodes, they're finally going to crown a proper champion and introduce an actual WRESTLING title instead of their only belt being for shoot-style action. The first four matches of the night will be the quarterfinals of a one-night tournament to crown the first-ever Valkyrie Pro Champion. Valkyrie Pro Episode 8 Priya Mallaya vs. Kaede Takeda
Robin Nox vs. Andrea Hawke
Hana Estrella vs. Empress Fenix
Tina Remington vs. Kroll
Helena Lundgren vs. Angie Armstrong, Shoot-Style
Semifinal #1
Semifinal #2
Amanda Skye and Lily Lyons vs. Kelly Wolfe and Victoria Fox
Kylie Anderson vs. Christine DeWalt
Final So let's do some actual match preview write-ups this time, shall we? Priya Mallaya is starting to make a name for herself as an opener in Phoenix Rising... perhaps seeking to follow in the footsteps of the Office's GPC. She's got a rough time ahead of her here, though, with Kaede Takeda, often considered the #2 of Valkyrie Pro behind Andrea Hawke, isn't likely to make life easy for the Opulent Tigress. Robin Nox made a bonus match debut on Monday night against the Blackwood Academy's Altarya... and while this matchup was advertised originally as a main event, plans pivoted a bit. Robin will still face Andrea Hawke as expected, and she'll have a chance to be the first Valkyrie Pro Champion against the fed's very founder. The most famous of famous names in Valkyrie Pro, Hana Estrella, looks to add some gold to her fame, but stepping into the ring with one of the fastest and most dangerous high-flyers in Valkyrie Pro in Empress Fenix will put her to the test. There's no telling how this one may end up. Tina Remington has an uphill battle herself. Stepping into the ring with the Roaring Devil, the always-dominant Kroll... she'll need to bring her best if she wants to even sniff the semifinal. Kroll's a monster, to be sure, and if Tina can pull this off, it'll be a truly impressive feat. Once again, Brady Quinn defended her Shoot Championship... and so, we need another contender to take her on in the future. Helena Lundgren isn't known as the shoot-type, but she is a talented grappler and should take to the ruleset easily enough... she'll square off with UCSS's Angie Armstrong, and put herself to the test against Thiago Gracie's pupil. A pair of semifinal matches, determining who goes on to the main event and the championship match. Nothing more needs to be said. Amanda Skye and Lily Lyons have been Valkyrie Pro's most visible tag team since the fed opened its doors, but to date, they have never faced the other top team in the fed, Fox and Wolfe. Now these two teams will finally get the chance to face each other... in what should be a spectacular tag team showcase. One last match before the final: Kylie Anderson, one of the most well-rounded talents around, steps up to take on the recently-debuted Christine DeWalt from the Office. This could be one of the most intense matches of the night, and it's almost guaranteed to be the highest-workrate match in Valkyrie Pro's history. The night will close on the tournament final. The crowning of a champion. What else can you say? Someone's going to secure themselves as Valkyrie Pro's ace.

We're set to go on as normal for Proving Ground tonight although I am definitely running a bit behind in the wake of the Grand Ascension. Proving Ground Episode 105 Calista Vargas vs. Heather Wild
The Bryant Sisters vs. Fiona Walsh and Virginia Caldwell
Harley Brooks vs. Nick MacLeod
Fresh Suzuki vs. Gabriela Gallego
Aria Kintelas and Christina Wagner vs. Adrenaline Rush
Ziggy Rockefeller vs. Chico Con Carne
Robin Nox vs. Mercedes Ortega
Speed Dating vs. The Yoshida Twins
HAYATO vs. Rafael Gallego Coming out of the tournament, runner-up HAYATO has made waves about coming for Riccardo De Luca and the Top Prospect Championship... but he hasn't earned that shot yet, despite his performance. No doubt Riccardo and HAYATO will be crossing paths plenty in the coming weeks...

A handful of interesting matchups coming up on tomorrow night's Showdown, including a couple of surprise appearances... and a Pacific Northwest Championship defense that's kind of blindsided me because I hadn't looked at the rankings in a while. Showdown Episode 105 Priya Mallaya vs. Titania
Kaelara Sentarl and Silver Hawk vs. The Heyward Sisters
Damian Shepherd vs. Jerome Harris
Robin Nox vs. Jessika Boom
Celine Chevalier and Sophia Moretti vs. Michelle Rochefort and Revon Beauregard
Victoria Frey vs. Yuki Maeda
Sanya Markov vs. Kojiro Burai
Shinobu Yamamoto and Sayuri Date vs. The Lightning Cyclones
Hugo Dirksen vs. Telan Kintelas for the Pacific Northwest Championship Having crowned new tag team champions at the Grand Ascension, a new set of challengers will be needed... but the Malevolent Triad still burns in the wake of their defeat to Fenix Oscuro's most hated rival. With no automatic rematch clause in Phoenix Rising, and no match for the Triad on this show, it's likely the fires of vengeance will only grow more intense... and could lead the dangerous trio to take drastic measures in order to get their chance at reclaiming the belts.

Took Thanksgiving off because primarily, I expected to not be home on the day of (turned out otherwise, but that was due to family illness) and so figured there probably wouldn't be much of an audience anyway. So, here we go, Evergreen on a Saturday night instead. Evergreen Federation Wrestling Episode 59 Eternamente Verde vs. KyO
Crimson Romance vs. Mercy Devine and Trinity Knight
Julian Shepard vs. El Evergringo
Kroll vs. Argent
Oakland's Most Metal (Rebecca/Sayaka) vs. The Cuddley Sistaz
Veronika Armstrong vs. Rachel White
Sabrina vs. Ashton Crowe vs. Concrete Pete vs. Kantar, #1 Contender's Match for the Evergreen Championship
Iris Coleman vs. Babe Ruthless
The Sheridan Brothers vs. The Bingo Hall Mutants for the Evergreen Tag Team Championships Finally, Veronika Armstrong makes her first appearance post-Ascension, as the tournament champion. Seemed there was no doubt she'd wait until she got to show up in front of her home crowd, and the welcome is likely to be a colossal one as she prepares for New Year's Bash and the World Championship match against Mascara Avispa. Evergreen Champion Babe Ruthless also makes an in-ring appearance here, and while Iris Coleman has proven herself a tough opponent, it's entirely likely that this is not going to be her night against the reigning champion. The night is capped off by a tremendous Evergreen Tag Team Championship match: following their less-than-impressive (but still successful) PEWA tag title defense, the Sheridans now set their sights on the mentors of the men they defeated to win said PEWA titles. They've beaten the New Mutants... but can they beat the legendary Philly duo as well? Can the Sheridans truly finish one of the most incredible turnarounds the world has ever seen? Can they really become the undisputed greatest hardcore tag team in the Critical Alliance? We've also got one hell of a tag debut coming up... Evergreen brings in Wrestle Parade's wild and rowdy trio, the Cuddley Sistaz. Likely to compete as a Trios Championship contender, they'll run as a duo this time around (Bubbly Bae and Chevonne taking point, of course), to take on the enduring duo of Rebecca Andrews and Sayaka Saito. Oakland's Most Metal, in general, is looking for a hell of a night... with Ashton Crowe also potentially in the running for a #1 contender spot, though the four-person field in the contender's match is a brutal one...

Ashton Crowe, Sabrina and Concrete Pete Babe Ruthless def. Iris Coleman The Bingo Hall Mutants def. The Sheridan Brothers to retain the Evergreen Tag Team Championships Bonus: Robin Nox def. Tiny Hope Cuddley Veronika Armstrong"I'm sure there's more than a few people that would've liked to see me come back home and immediately fall flat. Moment of triumph, back in front of the Evergreen faithful, and you expected me to blow my first match post-Ascension. Not gonna happen. Not here, not now, not ever. I wanted my first night back after winning the tournament to be RIGHT HERE, and that's exactly why... because these people deserve that. They deserve to see the heart and soul of Evergreen first, the conquering hero, the one that's going on to the biggest match of the year in a little over a month.
What I did to Rachel White tonight wasn't personal. Not in the slightest. But make no mistake, anyone and everyone that gets in my way between here and New Year's Bash, between me and that match with Mascara Avispa, and the World Championship... I'm gonna give you exactly the same. I'm coming to Showdown on Monday night. I'm going to make my presence felt. And when New Year's Bash hits, you're gonna see Evergreen's best lifting the Phoenix Rising World Championship... and become the first person EVER to hold both Evergreen's and Phoenix Rising's top belts.
I'm making history this year. I'm going into 2023, undisputed, unstoppable, unbreakable. And if you come at me with ANYTHING less than your best...
Then you're getting the full weight of Evergreen bearing down on your shoulders."

A lot of action coming up tomorrow night with Showdown, including two championship matches, and the return of the Black Dragon to full active competition... Showdown Episode 106 Priya Mallaya vs. Haruka Matsura
Vindication (Yuki/Sayuri/Shinobu) vs. E.T.C. (Sophia/Celine/Damian)
Victoria Frey vs. Robin Nox
Shiana Sentarl vs. Angel Leblanc
Silver Hawk and Kaelara Sentarl vs. The Malevolent Triad (Oscuro/Selisha)
Jerome Harris vs. Kojiro Burai
The Black Dragon vs. Kanjirin Tonorian
Mallory Spaulding vs. Telan Kintelas for the Pacific Northwest Championship
Winner of Vindication/E.T.C. vs. The Midwest Initiative for the Trios Championships Yeah we'll give Robin one more go on Showdown, I don't think that's an intentional thing but at this point I'm just gonna let it go. Next month she'll start her proper place on Proving Ground. A lot of major matchups coming up here, though... two trios matches, one to decide who gets to be in the other for the titles. The Malevolent Triad is trying to prove they deserve a rematch for the tag titles. Victoria Frey and Shiana Sentarl may very well be on a collision course for the end of the year, a long-awaited rematch waiting in the wings. Mallory Spaulding may be getting her last chance at gold here, after weeks of failing to close out in big matches. And Kojiro Burai has words for last year's Grand Ascension winner... Kojiro Burai"There's always those people that come and go... one day they're standing in the spotlight, the next, they've moved on to something new. Last year, around this time, there wasn't a single person who wasn't talking about Jerome Harris, winning the Grand Ascension, standing at the top of the mountain... and just as quickly as he was there, he'd moved along for reasons nobody wanted to explain. Now, suddenly... here he is, back again, which leads me to wonder something:
I somehow doubt it was your choice not to be here, so it must be the responsibility of someone else. Not that it matters, in the end, because a year is a long time for things to change.
Since the last time you showed your face in Phoenix Rising, the landscape is so much different... you had the spotlight then. But right now, it belongs to me, as the rising star of the show. The most dominant Pacific Northwest Champion since the title's introduction. So dominant that chasing after it again would be pointless. What more can I do with a title that I held for more than half of the year? Taking down anyone and everyone that stood in my way, every single show, for months?
And now, what better way to prove my stance... to prove where I belong, in the World Championship division, than by taking aim at those who have been near that title? Challengers and champions alike... starting with you.
By the time the new year dawns, I'll leave no further doubt. Whether Mascara Avispa is still the man with the gold, or Veronika Armstrong walks into 2023 at the top... I'll make damn sure that I'm the one that steps forward to face them.
And to everyone who's had their shot in the past year... know that I'm coming for you. The future has arrived, and there is no one... no one that can stand in my way anymore."
