Leona Sterling (Please note: I'm not even going to ATTEMPT to write out the Scottish accent. You don't wanna read it, I don't wanna write it, so just take this promo as if it's coming from a Highland Scot (she's from Inverness.))
"All right, seems like a lot of people need to be filled in on who I am. Well, your fan favorite Candace Monroe sure as hell knows my name, knows my fists, and I'll bet you anything she still fears both of 'em. Your tag partner had a career before this, and I'm the one that put it to an early end. I won't be ending any careers here... but I sure as hell intend to come away with the win in this first match, and prove that not only am I a champion of a fighter, I'll damn well be a champion of a wrestler, too. Better be at your best, 'Ruthless'." Amber Wright "Right, um... I guess people are already expecting a lot. Wondering what they're gonna get from me, given who my family is. But I'm not like my parents. Not really. I don't have the power that my mother does, I don't have the... ruthless streak that both of them have. I'm a competitor... I live for the thrill of the match, but I don't hold grudges, I don't go out of my way to hurt people... maybe that makes me unfit to be here, but I think I've got what it takes, even if I'm something different. Anna, you and I are... a lot alike, I think. Rookies with something to prove, trained by some of the best in the world. Let's go out there and show 'em the future." Todd Colton "No time like the present, huh? This specific day, this exact week, the PERFECT time to take on the supposedly unbeatable Top Prospect. Cause look at that, he's coming off another loss! Too bad for Telan that I'M the one in line for a shot, not him! And like hell are they gonna add that meathead into MY match. Telan Kintelas can sit his ass down and watch while I take the Top Prospect title for myself... and then, nobody... NOBODY is ever gonna call me a joke, or a disgrace, or a loser... ever again." Natasha Clover "You make one... stupid fucking mistake... and you go from being on top of the world to right back at the bottom of the totem pole. You lose focus for one night and you lose everything you'd worked for." Natasha's voice is surprisingly measured... almost somber. "The same night I lost everything is the night I saw my former best friend reach the highest point of her life and moving up. And I suddenly wonder what the hell happened. What the fuck I was thinking. Had this thought in my head that I had to do this shit alone, that I couldn't be the best in the world, that I couldn't be the dominant force I wanted to be with her seemingly holding me back.
But why? Why the fuck would I think that unless I was just blind to what was going on? Going after the top spot is a rush... getting it, even more of one. And then it all crashes down and you're left with nothing.
Doesn't matter. Not yet. I'm going to scratch and crawl my way back to the top. I'm going to take out Rin Ryusaki, or whoever the hell else might hold that title when I get there. And I'm going to take back what's mine. Starting with you, 'Queen Anne'. I already beat your ass once. Don't think I won't fucking ruin you again."

RNA Ruthless Nicole Alger: Alright...think I'm over that cold or whatever the hell that was a few weeks ago. And looks like it's a good thing since I got a tough one this week. Candace told me all about this Leona girl. She's super tough, and even worse, there's not much I can throw at her that she hasn't seen before in her natural environment. Great. But if anyone thinks for one moment that I'm gonna bow down and kiss her feet has another thing coming. Guess what, Leona? I got the gameplan on you. And I'll even fill you in on mine. I'm probably gonna try to rip your arm out of its socket, separate your shoulder, take it home for dinner. And you can do what you want to stop that. I'll do what I have to do to show Proving Ground that I got something to prove, too. Come get some.
Muscle Machines Gary Gear: We got a pair of little skinny dudes this week!
Adonis Avery Alexander: And yet, they might be more dangerous than anyone we've faced yet.
Gary: Nah, they're skinny little masked twerps. Put a mask on 'em and they look tiny to me.
AAA: Colossus Rhodes wears a mask, just saying...
Gary: Look, you got your thing about facing women, I got mine 'bout facing masked people. Makes me wanna squash them!
AAA: Nobody's squashing these two. Phantom Thief may not look like it, but he has the ability to beat anyone in the game...and do weird things to them at times. And Mascara Avispa could be the best Junior Heavy in the game. He's not about the Builder Life, but he's very much legitimate.
Gary: Nah, don't care! It's squashing time!
AAA: You are an imbecile.
Gary: You scared of some little masked guys?
AAA: I respect their competitive ability, and the threat they pose to our team. Particularly your moronic, sluggish, Neanderthal, Cro-Magnon devolved self. They can run you into the ground and embarrass us in the process. I am a superior athlete, but even I know that these two are not to be taken lightly.
Gary: You're scared!
AAA: Ugh! Anyway, if you're not focusing on this, let's not forget that we need to brush up on our Japanese here, with Lightning Pro coming up in a few months...or whenever the Office finally makes that deal.
Gary: Man, I feel like that deal's going to take years! What's their problem over there, anyway?
AAA: I've heard that L-Pro's staff had a big shakeup earlier this year, and they were almost mismanaged out of existence. Now they're promising to work things out with the Office deal...but it seems to be delayed further and further every time we hear anything.
Gary: Bummer.
AAA: But yeah, just gives us more time to study our Japanese.
Gary: Bakayaro! Shōfu no musuko! Enpitsu nekkuotaku! Gyūniku wa dokodesu ka? That's about all I got...
AAA: <facepalms>

One more in the books. Just one more Proving Ground before we get to the BIG stuff. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/314445840Youtube: youtu.be/M7TRnx8-0dQQuick Results Listalva Anne Heyward def. Natasha Clover Kevin Royce def. Kyle Anderson Allison Avery def. Cassie Rose
Anna Bryant def. Amber Wright The Phantom Thief and Mascara Avispa def. The Muscle Machines Ruthless Nicole Alger def. Leona Sterling Silver Hawk def. Kellaron Sentarl Argent def. Kanjirin Tonorian Mallory Spaulding def. Elly Blackwood Rin Ryusaki def. Candace Monroe Blake Dynamite def. Todd Colton to RETAIN the Top Prospect Championship Write-ups This was decisive. Lis seemed to have learned from her previous meetings with Natasha, and absolutely dominated this one, picking up a much-needed win. A tough, hard-fought brawl, but Kevin Royce made his debut a big one in taking down Kyle, bringing a hammer into play and bombing the Team Proving Ground member onto it for a huge win. Someday, Cassie Rose might figure it out like her brother... but not tonight, Allison proving to be the tougher of the two, her lariats proving to be just a bit too much yet again. A solid debut for Amber, despite her loss. Competitive, and one that definitely seemed to harbor no hard feelings between the two... the two rookies could easily make something happen together in the future, perhaps. This was a statement, make no mistake. Thief and Avispa picked the Muscle Machines apart, and while AAA and Gear did what they could, this was barely in doubt at any point... Thief and Avispa go on to Proving Ground #19 to face Team Proving Ground for a #1 contender's spot, and chances are that team will be Elly Blackwood and Kyle Anderson. Nicole Alger lived up to her threats ahead of this match. She weathered everything that Leona had to offer, and welcomed her to Phoenix Rising by nearly wrenching the Scottish woman's arm right out of its socket, forcing Leona to admit defeat... something that the former MMA champion is definitely not used to. What is wrong with Kellaron? Did the 49th Parallel throw him off his game? Was he sick tonight? Whatever the excuse, Silver Hawk didn't hesitate to take full advantage and absolutely stomped the "leader" of Pure Gold... Pure Gold's night got worse when Argent clearly came out to FIGHT. Perhaps Kanjirin's reluctance to face him in the 8-man tag match two weeks ago was well-justified... a CRUSHING Quicksilver and this one was over. Finally, Mallory stepped up and managed to avoid the clean sweep: leaving Team Proving Ground at 2-2 on the night (counting Silver Hawk, of course), and once again cementing Mallory as Pure Gold's top talent. This one was a hard-hitting affair, but once Mallory began to break out the suplexes, this one turned in her favor almost immediately. Candace seemed determined to follow her partner's lead and pull Rin's leg right off... but somehow, some way, the Inspire Champion found the strength to power back into the match, and a triple moonsault finally managed to pick up the big win. Rin wins here tonight, but Candace was achingly close to a huge victory... maybe the biggest of her career. How much longer can she be held back? Blake Dynamite, when defending his title, may very well be completely unstoppable. The leader of Team Proving Ground made a statement here... just moments after Todd tried to make one of his own, only to miss the moonsault he was going for... and Blake took FULL advantage, nailing his DOUBLE moonsault and wrapping Todd up for the finish. Blake is still the Top Prospect... who's going to step up next? Listalva Anne Heyward "Let that be the first sign: Queen Anne is back in business. And it's only a matter of time before I get back what's mine. I know your game now, Natasha... you can't fool me anymore. I was gonna run through ya' to get my title back, but by the time I got a chance... you'd already lost it. So I'll just call this my payback on you... and set my sights on that cute li'l ninja... and then, I'll take my place back at the top of Proving Ground again." Natasha Clover "What's wrong with me? I pounded the hell out of her, TWICE before, but this time..." Natasha clutches her head in her hands. "Everything's breaking down... what am I supposed to DO..." Pure Gold "What the hell WAS that tonight!?" Mallory's voice rings out over the others... the powerhouse has come back to the locker room after beating Elly, interrupting what seemed to be an argument between the other three. "What's the matter, you're leaving me to pick up your goddamn slack! You-" She points at Kanjirin first, "better not look that pathetic next time out, because we've got to defend our titles a month from now! And YOU-" She turns on Kellaron, "-What the FUCK was that? Silver Hawk? You got your ass beat BY SILVER HAWK! What the hell kind of 'leader' do you think you are at this point?" The room falls silent. "Listen up... all three of you. You're coming with me and the next two weeks, I'm going to work each of you harder than you've ever been before, because CLEARLY you need some fucking guidance. I'll whip you idiots into shape one way or another." Candace Monroe "I had it... I -had- it. I should've been able to finish the job. But I couldn't do it. Rin... you're not gonna get off that easy. Next week, I want another go... this time, you bring your partner... I'll bring mine. And I'll -show- you that I can beat you... I'll show you that I'm capable of taking that title off you. You and Fresh... me and Nicole. I'll be waiting."

Muscle Machines Gary Gear: Damn it! Son of a bitch! Raaaaaaargh!
The Muscle Monster is seen throwing a 45 lbs plate into the wall, where it takes permanent residence.
Adonis Avery Alexander: Hate to say I told you so...nah...I love saying I told you so.
Gary: You love losing, you love dropping the fall? Do you want to love being snapped in half?
AAA: You sound like a petulant baby.
Gary: How did we lose to a pair of masked manlets?
AAA: Because you didn't take them seriously. Maybe it's time you do some cardio for once. You know, part of becoming a well rounded athlete and maximizing the potential of the human body.
Gary: Maybe you're too weak! You talk about building, but you don't look like you lift seriously! You look like...a Crossfit dude!
AAA: I'll have you know that I would not touch that overhyped, misguided workout routine for anything. I'm far too good an athlete for...Crossfit.
Gary: You lost us that match! You need to do something!
AAA: Whatever. That said, once we get to Japan, things are going to change. Yeah. Things are changing.
RNA Ruthless Nicole Alger: I was raised to be a woman of my word. My father has always been true to his. And I just proved that I'm just as much a real deal as he is. Leona, you're a bad woman. You pushed me hard. I'm going to feel those kicks tomorrow, maybe longer. But I just have one question for you. How's that shoulder feeling? Candace took time out of her own training to help me prepare for this match. I knew your gameplan. I knew your moves. And I had the muscle memory to deal with them, thanks again to Candace.
RNA: You know, though, that's the thing. Winners, losers, there's a fine line. One wrong move. One misstep. That'what separates winners and losers. Tonight, I was on the right side of the line. Candace ended up on the wrong side, even if she took Rin close to the limit. Could have gone differently, but it didn't. I've lost some like this before. I know what it's like. But all that matters is going forward. Getting back on track. Or staying on it.
RNA: And when the Limbtakers team again, we're going to remember all that hard work. We'll remember that months of training, video, sparring, all that just gives us a bit more of a chance. We know that all it takes is one move. And that's why we'll be the best around at delivering that move when it's time. One move, the difference between winning and losing. We'll be on the winning side of the fine line. That's where we want to belong.

I've already got my sights locked on the next show. September's done, we move into October, the month that's going to contain the twentieth episode for both Showdown and Proving Ground... guaranteed to be some big-time matches. Showdown #18's card looks like this.
Pre-Show: Winifred Wright vs. Rachel White
Pre-Show: The Phantom Thief vs. Telan Kintelas
Pre-Show: Haruka Matsura vs. Mercy Devine
Besos vs. Fenix Oscuro
Rey de la Carne vs. Victor Kintelas
Sophia Moretti vs. Laenara Kintelas
Lance Marshall vs. Kileas Kintelas
Urani Whitemist vs. The Black Dragon
Binak Tonorian vs. Tasharun
Angel Leblanc vs. Alexandria Kirison
Firehawk Sentarl and Rilantha De Nav vs. The Rising Storm for the Phoenix Rising Tag Team ChampionshipRachel White's Showdown debut was... not exactly what she would've hoped. Couple that with another theme change (even if I don't -have- to, I don't want/need copyright stuff coming back to bite me later), and a challenge from one of the baddest women on Showdown, things are set to be rough for the young woman once again this week.
The Phantom Thief is coming off of one hell of a victory on Proving Ground, defeating the Muscle Machines alongside Mascara Avispa. Now he's looking to keep that momentum going into his #1 contender's match with Team Proving Ground, by taking on Telan Kintelas one-on-one on Showdown's pre-show. A win here would be huge... they'll need the momentum to face Kyle Anderson and Elly Blackwood.
Mercy Devine may not have won the Women's Championship last Showdown, but she gave it one hell of a fight... now she's got her attention on a former Women's Champion in Haruka Matsura. Mercy had a bit to say about the backstabbing ninja... and none of it polite.
After a few weeks to dwell on the attack that began this whole mess, Besos gets her shot at Fenix Oscuro. To Eri's dismay, whether she wanted it or not, Besos is definitely involved in this now... but at least this means that Eri now has an ally at her side, if worse comes to worse.
With his sister busy with Oscuro, Rey de la Carne steps into the ring on his own against Victor Kintelas. Victor's looking for payback here, despite the victory last week: he's not about to let Rey do as he pleases, and seems ready to do whatever it takes to keep him down.
Sophia Moretti seems to be a changed woman. Haruka's betrayal appears to have affected the Italian, and she's appeared to distance herself as far as possible from her time in the Syndicate... to the point where she seems to have turned over a new leaf entirely. Against Laenara Kintelas, though, she may need to tap back into that killer instinct again... this won't be easy.
Lance Marshall may have come up short last time out, but against Binak Tonorian, it's to be expected. Anyone capable of taking the giant to the limit deserves respect... and Kileas may want to watch out. Lance may not have added "giant-killer" to his resume, but he'll certainly be eager to take down the Alpha Villain regardless.
The Black Dragon hasn't looked sharp as of late, and Urani Whitemist wants to change that. The stable-mates are poised to square off here, Urani perhaps looking to pull some sort of fire out of the dragon... but would that even be enough against the World Champion?
Binak Tonorian's greatest challenge to date has been Lance Marshall. But now, the giant is set to go even higher... and prepares to face the Demon. Tasharun claims he's capable of defeating Binak where no one else has, but does he really have enough to stop the most dominant star in Phoenix Rising over the last month and a half?
Alexandria Kirison made sure the world took notice last week against Mercy Devine as she defended her Women's Championship in convincing fashion. Now Angel Leblanc has demanded a chance at the champion herself... this may prove to be a severe error in judgment by the Frenchwoman.
Finally, after a fair few weeks of going undefeated and running through the tag team division, Firehawk Sentarl and Rilantha De Nav get their shot at the Rising Storm and the tag team titles. This will have repercussions for episode 20... a win by the challengers could set up a rematch for that show, while a defense by the champions would necessitate a #1 contenders match at episode 19 to determine the next challengers. Either way, this match will be a harsh one... and with Anahera seeking to challenge the World Champion at episode 20, she seems fully willing to fight twice in one night yet again.

Angel Leblanc "It is time that I'm shown the respect I'm due. That all of you begin to take notice once again, as you seem to have FORGOTTEN. And when I defeat Alexandria Kirison, when I earn my rightful place at the top and become Women's Champion, we can look back at the past... and push it aside. The most 'dominant champion' in Phoenix Rising's history... hmph. Shiana Sentarl, you were a fluke, a woman in the right place at the right time... and now, it would seem your... 'illustrious' career has finally come to an end. So watch from home this week, watch me do what you could not. And live with the knowledge that you couldn't measure up to who I am... not anymore." Tasharun "You ask me if I fear a giant. If I'm intimidated by the sight of Binak Tonorian stepping back out of the shadows, clinging to what career he has left. Binak Tonorian does not have what it takes at this point in his life. He will fall, before long, and I will be the one that starts that process.
You ask my thoughts after my defeat last week? Many probably expected me to disappear again after that sort of disgrace. But that won't be happening. Urani's time is drawing closer, and she won't be able to hold on to that championship much longer. She'll fall... whether by my hand, or by one that no one expects. But she will fall, sooner or later..." Binak Tonorian "Tasharun can talk all he likes about where my career stands. Fact is, maybe he's right and I'm on borrowed time. And yet, have you seen anything, ANYTHING that would suggest that I'm at anything less than peak form? Do you see anything that suggests that I'm at the end of my rope? You're making excuses, Tasharun... rather than admitting one simple truth: You're afraid that losing to Urani was only the beginning, and once I wipe you out, there won't be anything left of your reputation. You're the one that's a shadow of who he once was... and I am at the top of the world." The Rising Storm "So here we stand, ahead of another defense of the titles that we are steadily making famous." Anahera holds the CAWF Women's Championship on one shoulder, and the Phoenix Rising Tag Team Championship on the other... though almost seems slightly miffed that there isn't a third title with them. "This time, maybe the biggest challenge yet: an undefeated team of two of the best that Phoenix Rising has to offer. But you two don't understand what you're getting into."
"We have stood as Phoenix Rising's premier tag team ever since we joined forces." Xiu Mei wears her belt around her waist, hands free as she rolls her wrists. "We have taken on every challenger that's come our way, and no matter how much it takes, we will overcome every challenge, push through every obstacle, and remind the world that no matter who you are, you will not take our place as the best team in this company."
"So to Firehawk and Rilantha, we only have that much to say... you won't take these titles from us. You won't end this reign. And once we've dealt with you, we can turn our attention ahead... a month from now, I intend to challenge Urani Whitemist for the World Championship, no matter what happens this week. And if that means that once again I have to fight twice in one night, then so be it. I will do whatever it takes to become the most decorated champion in Phoenix Rising's history. And the Rising Storm will continue to stand as the team to beat."

Be assured that everything will be going on as normal with the update happening. Some things might change slightly (the minor bugs that will hopefully be fixed soon), but the matches should essentially progress the same way.
Basically, Phoenix Rising isn't going anywhere. Indeed, it may become better than ever.

I'm psyched. Binak vs Tasharun is going to be a monster mash of the highest order, Lance should get the job done against Kileas, the tag title bout should be nonstop action, and don't we all want to see Besos get her revenge on Fenix?

Note to self: double-check OBS settings BEFORE going live, and maybe you won't have two full matches go by completely muted! Sorry about that. Bit of a trainwreck tonight. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/317370253Youtube: Quick Results Winifred Wright def. Rachel White Telan Kintelas def. The Phantom Thief Haruka Matsura def. Mercy Devine
Besos vs. Fenix Oscuro went to a no-contest when Eri got involved, followed by the appearance of HYPNOSIA Rey de la Carne def. Victor Kintelas Laenara Kintelas def. Sophia Moretti Kileas Kintelas def. Lance Marshall The Black Dragon def. Urani Whitemist Tasharun def. Binak Tonorian Angel Leblanc def. Alexandria Kirison Firehawk Sentarl and Rilantha De Nav def. The Rising Storm to become NEW Phoenix Rising Tag Team Champions! Write-ups Welcome to the big time, Rachel. The old veteran, Winifred, showed no respect to her rookie opponent here, and while Rachel fought her hardest, she couldn't muster up enough to take down the head trainer of the company. Tough night for the Phantom Thief, as Telan came absolutely roaring out of the gate, as aggressive as we've ever seen him: enough to avenge the loss from weeks ago. Haruka was in no mood tonight. This was as dominant as we've seen the former Women's Champion in a long time, and Mercy had no answer for her vicious, violent offense. A bad night for both promotions from Proving Ground. Besos vs. Oscuro started normally enough. That is, until... Not content to sit on the sidelines when her fiercest enemy was in the ring, Eri got involved before long, and looked primed to double-team Oscuro... And Besos began to do her thing, while Eri watched with some sort of satisfaction at Oscuro's plight. And then the lights went out. When they came back up... Trouble immediately found Besos and Eri, as none other than HYPNOSIA made an appearance, seemingly to help Oscuro! A brawl broke out from there, the result of the match becoming a no-contest, and seemingly setting up a tag match for next Showdown ahead of the obvious meeting between Eri and Oscuro... can Phoenix Rising contain this rivalry anymore? If Rey de la Carne was shaken by the situation his sister had found herself in, he sure didn't show it here: he absolutely took it to Victor Kintelas, who clearly wanted NO part of any of it. Rey would ultimately pick up a big win, humiliating Victor in the process. Sophia's woes continue against Laenara Kintelas, unable to bring her submission game to bear. It took three Kintelas Drivers, but the Italian finally stayed down, and gave Lae a much-needed victory. Lance seemed focused... just not enough, apparently, as Kileas gave him everything he could handle and more. The Alpha Villain would come out on top this time, and Lance continues an unusual struggle as of late. A match intended to be a motivator for Dragon turned into a surprisingly vicious affair: all sense of team camaraderie and friendliness went out the window in a hurry, as Dragon's ferocity seemed to catch the World Champion off guard. The two traded almost everything they had, but Dragon showed immense strength by lifting Urani in a crushing bearhug... and to the shock of all in attendance, Urani tapped out, giving Dragon a colossal upset... and sending the supposed World Championship match for episode 20 into chaos. What will the decision be? Perhaps Binak's body is catching up with him... perhaps Tasharun was motivated to make a statement. But this can't be a good sign for anyone in Phoenix Rising. The giant has been toppled... and that can't be good news for anyone, not even the Demon himself. Trouble is clearly on the horizon. Perhaps one of the bigger shocks of the night in a show that had a lot of them. Angel's already stated she has no interest in challenging Alex for the Women's Championship... at least not at episode 20. But she'll likely hold this win over Alex's head... and take her chance when she's ready. Rilantha De Nav reminded the world that she is still one of the best wrestlers in Phoenix Rising tonight. While Firehawk did a lot of heavy lifting here, Xiu Mei seemed to throw him completely off his game as she STOLE the Phoenix Dive, nearly beating him with his own finisher! The sheer audacity of this seemed to force Ril to step up... and she damn well did, taking on both members of the Rising Storm for much of the latter parts of the match, before landing a sharp German suplex and scoring the victory... and Ril's first gold since Phoenix Rising came into being! Angel Leblanc "You did it again, Alexandria. You looked past an opponent you thought was beneath you. And now, I hold all of the cards. I won't challenge you at episode 20... non, you are not my concern right now. But you had better retain that championship against whoever does earn it... because after that, I will come for you again, and I will take it from your hands. But my attention is focused on one woman... Shiana Sentarl continues to say nothing, to make no appearances, to not even say whether she has retired or not! So I issue you an ultimatum, Shiana... at episode 20, at this event that stands above all others, I challenge you... non, I DEMAND that you face me, one-on-one... or come out and tell everyone that you have given in, and finally quit for good, as you should have so many years ago. You have been given a choice. Make it... before I come to find you myself." Fenix Oscuro "You are... so predictable, Eri. You never can keep your nose out of other people's business, can you? I planned for this... I planned for you to be unable to help yourself, to come out and try and strike me down before we had our proper fight. But I CAME PREPARED, ERI! And who better to stand at my side than the Naga Queen?
Your temper has betrayed you once again. If you had just left well enough alone, you would not be in this situation... and your dear friend Besos would not have to deal with her own hated enemy as well. But that is what you do, Eri... you always make things worse for the people around you. You drag them down, you ruin their lives, their careers... And as much as you continue to tell me that you've changed, tonight has proven that you are still the same, selfish, cruel young woman that you've always been... and always will be.
After Hypnosia and I defeat you and Besos on the next show... I will reveal everything else about your past. And we will see who still supports you. We will see who still stands at your side. We will see who would DARE to support such a vile... hateful... selfish woman. And when everyone has left you... and you are alone... that is when I'll finish the job, and break your body along with your spirit." Eri Sentarl "It's my fault... my fault..." Eri paces around the locker room, hands running through her hair... she definitely looks agitated. "Stupid, stupid... why couldn't I just..." A loud BANG rings out as she slams her fists on the nearest locker. "What is she doing to me...? What's HAPPENING to me...?" Tasharun "Let that stand as a statement to all of Phoenix Rising. You've failed to put anything in front of me that I cannot crush before long. You cannot stand in my way, and it's only a matter of time..." Tasharun trails off... and it's easy to see why as Lance Marshall steps into view, the Texan clearly not pleased with the way the night's gone. "You want t' talk about that... ya' haven't beaten Urani. Ya' COULDN'T beat Urani. And here's another bit for ya', Demon... remember who handed you your first loss... and remember what did the job." Lance and Tasharun stare each other down... but then, the Texan is struck from behind! Immediately, a brawl breaks out... but it's two-on-one, the newcomer clearly on Tasharun's side. It takes a few moments to realize who it is at Tasharun's side... Kantar, an old ally of the demon, suddenly making a return to attack Lance. But the assault doesn't last. A roar echoes through the locker room, and a colossal figure slams into Tasharun, sending him sprawling... all the backup Lance needs to fire back at Kantar, and before long the Demons have been driven off, Lance taking a moment to catch his breath before looking up to the giant. Binak holds a hand out to Lance... and the Texan takes it with a firm shake. It would seem that a plan has been hatched for next Showdown...

If Showdown this week was the beginning of a new era, Proving Ground just continues to add more new talent as they move into the future. There will be another three debuts on next week's show: so let's take a look at just who's entering the fray. Pre-Show: Cassie Rose vs. Sung Moon Pre-Show: Pajaro de Fuego vs. Todd Colton Pre-Show: Amber Wright vs. Emma Travers Victor Kintelas vs. Kevin Royce Team Proving Ground (Kyle/Elly) vs. The Phantom Thief/Mascara Avispa (#1 Contender's match for the Proving Ground Tag Team Championship) Veronika Armstrong vs. Anari Lynn Heyward Mallory Spaulding vs. Kanjirin Tonorian Listalva Anne Heyward vs. Leona Sterling The Limbtakers vs. Winter Fresh Kellaron Sentarl vs. Argent Blake Dynamite vs. Silver Hawk Sung Moon, the Korean-American out of Houston, is primed to take on another Texan in her debut match: Cassie Rose is trying to get herself back on track, and this may be the last chance she has before really needing to take a look at herself.
For months, the mysterious Pajaro de Fuego has been rumored to be in talks with Phoenix Rising. Finally, he'll make his debut here on Proving Ground, taking on Todd Colton in what's certainly going to be a wild match... can Todd handle the Lucha Phoenix?
Amber Wright's debut was a bit rough, but she'll have another chance to show her stuff against fellow rookie Emma Travers. Both women will be looking for their first victory here: but who's going to take it?
Victor Kintelas hasn't had a good couple of weeks. On a bit of a losing streak, he's now coming off of perhaps the most humiliating night of his life, losing to Rey de la Carne, and now has to re-focus to face the Evergreen powerhouse that is Kevin Royce. He'll need to be at his best to handle this one... as it's sure to go extreme before long.
The tag team champions need a challenger for Proving Ground #20... and so, Team Proving Ground, having already scored one win over the champs, now set their attention on the Phantom Thief and Mascara Avispa. The winners here go on to face Mallory and Kanjirin for the tag titles.
Veronika Armstrong has already been making waves with news of her impending debut. The Oakland star seems ready to take on the world... but she'll start with Anari Lynn Heyward, and aim to show off the power that she's become known for already, and show the world just how metal she really is.
The tag champs are, to put it lightly, in a bit of a dispute. Mallory Spaulding was the only member of Pure Gold to win last week... and indeed, has been the only one to win ANYTHING, as of late! She'll aim to whip her tag partner into shape here, and get Kanjirin motivated once more.
Leona Sterling debuted last week, and fell against Ruthless Nicole Alger... but the Scottish fighter isn't about to back down now. Set up against the former Inspire Champion in Listalva Anne Heyward, Leona will certainly be looking to make an impact in her second time out, and bring down Queen Anne.
Just as promised, the Limbtakers will take on Winter Fresh (That of course being Rin Ryusaki and Fresh Suzuki). Candace Monroe seems determined to get the win she's been after over Rin... and it seems almost a given that a win by the Limbtakers here would give Candace the chance she desires, a rematch with Rin... this time with the Inspire Championship on the line.
Kellaron Sentarl is perhaps the main target of Mallory Spaulding's ire, as of late. He's been a strong disappointment since the formation of the team, and here against Argent, he'll have to step up... otherwise, there's no way he could ever call himself the leader of Pure Gold.
Silver Hawk has looked unbelievable as of late. He's not just shown flashes of brilliance: he's been maybe one of the top performers on Proving Ground outright. And now, he'll get a shot against Blake Dynamite in the main event. A win here would set up a rematch for Proving Ground #20 for the Top Prospect Championship... otherwise, a challenger will be decided from the other matches on the card for this show.
This is the last Proving Ground before it reaches episode 20... and that show is going to be a major one. All three titles on the line, and all scores to be settled.

Cassie Rose "It really don't matter if it's someone new, someone that's been around, someone that knows me inside and out... cause it don't matter anymore. Things are changin' around here... things are gonna be a lot different, and Miss Sung Moon ain't gonna be facin' the same Cassie Rose that everyone else has gotten t' know. Tell ya' one thing for certain... you're gonna see a whole hell of a lot come Monday. And if I gotta keep getting better, bigger, stronger... I'll do whatever it takes." Todd Colton "All right, what the hell's this about? I've SEEN this guy's matches, OK? Firehawk Sentarl's living a friggin' double life and won't tell anyone, although then again... y'know, I doubt that old bastard could actually do half of what this lucha guy could do. You ask me, though, there's something screwy going on with signing this 'Pajaro de Fuego' guy, OK? Doesn't matter, I'm gonna beat his ass and send him back to Mexico, no problem.
No, but seriously, someone figure out who he is. It's bothering the hell outta me." Veronika Armstrong "Evergreen's taking over! Or, well, you might think it, given there's three of us roamin' around now. Mercy over with the big-time bunch, bossman Kevin running around here, and now there's me. Guaranteed, I am going the rock the hell out of Proving Ground, no matter who you put in front of me. Anari Lynn Heyward's a girl I've been keeping an eye on for a while, and I'm looking forward to this one... big girl like her, against a big girl like me? Heh, you got everything put together for maybe the match of the night. You better be ready, ya' big Brit, cause you're gonna run into the most metal girl that's ever come outta the state of California." Natasha Clover (wait but she's not booked?) Natasha... isn't in any Phoenix Rising building at all. Indeed, the former Inspire Champion is dressed casually, and considering she has no match for Proving Ground #19, it makes some sense... she looks down at a small note in her hand, then takes a seat on a nearby bench, frowning slightly as a figure approaches to join her.
"Mind explaining what you want?" Natasha scowls... and it becomes quite clear that it's Rachel White that's come to see her. "You ran off to the big show first chance you got just so you could get the hell away from me, now you're asking me to meet you out here."
"I wanted to warn you about something." Rachel shakes her head, not meeting Natasha's eyes. "You remember Katherine."
"Baby sister. Yeah, I remember her. Always wanting to tag along behind you. What about her?"
"They signed her just a few days ago. You know how she is." Rachel's eyes flash as she looks back to Natasha. "Watch your back."
"What do you care?" Natasha rolls her eyes. "Fine. Little Katherine's on her way. And you're warning me about that? Whose side are you even on anymore? You hate my guts, I hate yours, and now you're sabotaging your little sister to help someone you can't stand."
"It'd take a whole lot more time than we've got here to tell you what's on my mind. Point is... keep an eye out. She'll be running hot from day one."
"Girl never does anything less." Natasha rises to her feet, almost brushing Rachel off by now. "Can't believe you care about this. Doesn't matter. I don't understand you."
"I don't hate you, Natasha." Rachel stands along with her, and puts a hand on the other woman's shoulder, though Natasha pushes her away. "We'll talk again soon."
"What if I don't want to, Rachel? Run back to where you were and keep getting your ass beat by Winifred and the rest of 'em."
"Just like you've been getting yours beat by Listalva." Rachel arches a brow. "We're both doing badly, Tasha."
"And you think that gives you the right to act like everything's OK again?"
"Look... just... think about this, OK? I'm not saying we're gonna mend things in one day... just... I'm sorry." Rachel sighs, then leaves without another word... and leaving Natasha silent as well, clearly in a foul mood from the conversation.

The go-home to the big #20 has wrapped, and it's only one more week before the big celebration. So how'd this one go? Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/320277811Youtube: youtu.be/4g_uXgybBUwQuick Results Cassie Rose def. Sung Moon Pajaro de Fuego def. Todd Colton Amber Wright def. Emma Travers
Kevin Royce def. Victor Kintelas The Phantom Thief and Mascara Avispa def. Team Proving Ground Veronika Armstrong def. Anari Lynn Heyward Mallory Spaulding def. Kanjirin Tonorian Leona Sterling def. Listalva Anne Heyward Winter Fresh def. The Limbtakers Argent def. Kellaron Sentarl Silver Hawk def. Blake Dynamite
Write-ups Sung Moon had a very dynamic debut, but the clearly-motivated Cassie was in no mood to deal with the rookie, showing a newfound ferocity that's been missing up to this point. Cassie's finally looking strong... but now, can she keep that momentum going? A very impressive debut for the Lucha Phoenix. It's still quite unclear just who Pajaro de Fuego is... but perhaps Todd Colton will shed some light on the subject? A meeting of the rookies turned into an absolutely dominant night for Amber Wright, who almost seemed to evoke her mother in this match with a mean streak a mile wide. She was relentless on the legs, and finished Emma off with a Jail Hold that left the Phoenix Rising medic writhing in pain on the mat. Sheer power from Kevin Royce here, as he reminds the Phoenix Rising crowd who he is, and why he's still the man in charge of Evergreen. Victor couldn't get his big moves going here, and was taken out with back-to-back Iron Claw Slams. A strong effort from Team Proving Ground, but by the end of this one, the "Invincible" Elly looked shaken, and didn't step in to help break up the final pinfall. Perhaps a late Twist of Fate rattled the normally-calm Elly, who doesn't usually make these sorts of mistakes... either way, Thief and Avispa will go on to face Mallory and Kanjirin for the Proving Ground tag titles. An absolute brawl from bell to bell, Veronika's debut was more of the same that she showed in Evergreen. She showed off every bit of her raw power, and made Anari pay for one last mistake by landing a HUGE frog splash that sealed her first win in Phoenix Rising. Well, Mallory won again, and Kanjirin might have lost... but there's some hope for Pure Gold, in that Kanjirin did not roll over for his tag partner, and gave her a solid fight. Mallory's wrath might be directed away from Kanjirin... but Victor and Kellaron may still catch the brunt of it. Leona came out strong, and while Listalva did her best to keep the Scottish fighter down, Leona would not be denied, and after working Queen Anne over, finished the job with a series of kicks that laid the former Inspire Champion out. Tough night for the Limbtakers, who just couldn't keep up with their opponents this time. Candace will have to wait for another opportunity at Rin one-on-one... a challenger will have to be decided some other way. This was a very, very bad night for Pure Gold, but none worse than for Kellaron Sentarl. Argent finally seems to remember that he is, in fact, a demon... one who served as Tasharun's right hand for a number of years, no less. And he showed it tonight, absolutely dominating Kellaron and standing tall without hardly breaking a sweat. Potentially Match of the Night here, this was fast-paced and never let up to the very end. But Silver Hawk scored the stunning victory, spreading his wings, taking flight, and earning himself a shot at the Top Prospect Championship in two weeks at Proving Ground #20... a rematch that will almost certainly main event the show once again. Todd Colton "You saw that shit, right? I take back what I said before, that asshole HAS to be Firehawk! Run the hell back where you belong and quit screwing people who deserve better than you! What a freakin' joke..." Amber Wright For all the viciousness Amber showed in the ring, she's at Emma's side as the medic finds herself being the one treated, rather than the one treating the injury. "Something... clicked in my head mid-way through that match. I don't know what came over me, Emma, I'm sorry."
"Don't be. You're gonna need that spark, you know? People might see that as a mean streak, I see it as you willing to do what it takes to win." Emma winces, not yet daring to test her clearly -very- sore knees. "Better you got to find that against me instead of someone that could've turned the tables and hurt you instead. You're good, Amber, you just need focus. Maybe you and I could learn from each other."
"Maybe..." Amber nods, the two shaking hands. "I'll give it some thought, for sure." Veronika Armstrong "Hell yeah! Talk about a match that would've made an Evergreen crowd happy, tell ya that much... heh, they'll call for blood clear up until I get in there, then they just wanna see me throw people around. That's what I do best, that's what I'm gonna do better than anyone here on Proving Ground. And I know exactly who I want to face next... So if you're listening, Nicole Blade, you and me, Proving Ground 20, I wanna see what the so-called 'Strongest Woman in Proving Ground' can really do, and see if you deserve to be called that. Bring your friend Donna, or don't, doesn't matter to me... and we'll tear the fuckin' house down." Pure Gold Kanjirin seems relaxed, despite his earlier loss to Mallory... for her part, she's sitting beside him, though her attention quickly snaps to the other two. Victor and Kellaron don't look pleased. "That's the best you can give me? Losing to some backyard garbage loser? Losing to ARGENT, of all people? Neither of you are even worth the fucking trouble half the time, and I'm sick of it. So I have a plan." Mallory rises to her feet, Kanjirin sitting up behind her. "Both of you have a match in two weeks. Proving Ground 20. You know what that match is gonna be?"
Both men seem to clearly understand exactly what Mallory's getting at... turning to look at each other.
"That's right... Victor vs. Kellaron. Facing each other. And I'm going to make SURE you're motivated for this... because whichever one of you loses, is OUT OF HERE!" Mallory's voice booms out through the locker room... having given her ultimatum, she sits back down beside Kanjirin... and leaves Victor and Kellaron to dwell on their futures.
