Another night down, four to go before the finals. Halfway point this Thursday, aww yeah. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/768924836Youtube: youtu.be/rrszl-kvAt8Quick Results Urani Whitemist def. Eddy Introspect Concrete Pete def. Strawberry Sookie Titania def. Todd Colton Angel Leblanc def. Fresh Suzuki Roland Chang III def. Veronika Armstrong Eri Sentarl def. HAYATO Kyle Anderson def. Sanya Markov Emelia "Air" Hart def. Victor Kintelas Write-ups Right away, we know one thing beyond any doubt: This block is Urani's to lose. And at the rate she's going, it doesn't seem likely that anyone's got what it takes to stop her. She's got everything running perfectly so far, wiping out Eddy with a brutal Camel Clutch, and now stands alone at the top of the standings. This might be the first time in months that someone finally got something over on Strawberry Sookie, and it turns out to be fellow Evergreen star Concrete Pete. Pete simply didn't take any shit from the reigning champion, and although Sookie did what she could to try and put this one away, including a huge diving cutter, Pete's Cement Mixer bomb put this one to rest in a big way. This is the Titania we've been waiting to see. The pure powerhouse, the dominant monster we've known all along. And surprisingly, she came roaring into this one at the expense of Todd Colton, who fell well short of his usual expectations. Two Titanic Bombs were enough to put this one away. Angel's first victory in the Ascension comes at the expense of fan favorite and Inspire Champion Fresh Suzuki... much to the dismay of the crowd in attendance. She was relentless tonight, determined to force Suzuki to tap to the Figure Eight, and accomplished that goal... and as the boos rained down on her, she had no words, just an arrogant sneer for all who were against her. Veronika Armstrong still can't quite figure things out. It didn't help that Roland Chang III's new gear had arrived... and that seemed to revitalize the young talent, with Chang a straight up wrecking ball in this one, showing off a tremendous amount of power and coming away with a major victory. Don't look now, but Eri Sentarl looks to be surging a bit. After falling short in her first match against Concrete Pete, Eri's come back with two straight wins over tough opponents, this one a hard fight to the finish before she managed to connect with the Little Phoenix and score a big-time win to keep pace with the rest of the block. Kyle Anderson finally came back to where he ought to be. This was a trademark Kyle victory, with the Five Star Combination coming out a couple of times, but the big finish came off of a direct path to the Triangle Scissors, leaving Sanya still without a win, and perhaps considering a long break after this tournament wraps up. Finally, the night closed out with the Top Prospect struggling against the smallest, fastest, most impressive member of Block A thus far. Emelia "Air" Hart has been the biggest success story of the Grand Ascension thus far: having won the tournament to get here at all, and now, standing undefeated and leading Block A, with very little seeming to stand in her way.

Coming up tomorrow night, it's Night 4, with a few more wild matchups that shouldn't be missed. Angel Leblanc (1-2) vs. Victor Kintelas (1-2)
Veronika Armstrong (0-3) vs. Urani Whitemist (3-0)
Concrete Pete (2-1) vs. HAYATO (0-3)
Titania (2-1) vs. Kyle Anderson (1-2)
Silver Hawk vs. Anari Lynn Heyward for the Pacific Northwest Championship
Roland Chang III (2-1) vs. Sanya Markov (0-3)
Strawberry Sookie (2-1) vs. Emelia "Air" Hart (3-0)
Eddy Introspect (2-1) vs. Todd Colton (2-1)
Eri Sentarl (2-1) vs. Fresh Suzuki (1-2)Kicking off the night, Victor Kintelas, still the reigning Top Prospect, hasn't seen as much success so far as anticipated... though, neither has Angel Leblanc, who's clearly aiming to come out much further ahead than she's been able to thus far. This could nearly end the aspirations of one or the other...
Veronika Armstrong may not have a shot at winning the block at all by now. To even have a hope of competing, she's got to take down the Titan... and given how dominant Urani Whitemist has been in her first three matches, this may very well be an insurmountable goal. Veronika may only get to look forward to trying to play spoiler for the rest of the league after this one...
HAYATO's also had a rough time getting his footing so far, and it might not be easy to find it against the big man, Concrete Pete. Pete's been a wrecking ball in his wins thus far, devastating if he's allowed to get his momentum going... but HAYATO may have something that can give him an edge. We'll find out here.
Kyle Anderson may not be your typical powerhouse, but he's definitely one of the toughest men in Phoenix Rising... stepping into the ring with Titania, who's come roaring back into contention after two strong victories. It's entirely possible she finds herself close to the top of Block B, though having already lost to Urani, does she have a hope of catching up?
At the mid-point of the night, we'll have ourselves a championship match right on schedule... well, sort of. Anari Lynn Heyward will step into the ring for her third defense of the Pacific Northwest Championship, taking on Silver Hawk, who earned his spot by beating Revon Beauregard last Showdown. Waiting in the wings is Block A participant Victor Kintelas... aiming to face the winner on the final night of the Ascension. But as his winning the block is not yet out of the realm of possibility, if he's otherwise preoccupied on that night, then Mascara Avispa will get the nod instead.
Power against power here, with Roland Chang III squaring off with the struggling Sanya Markov, who has yet to pick up a win. It's been a rough stretch for the Russian, who seems intent on stepping away once the Grand Ascension is over to figure out just what went wrong here.
The Evergreen Champion is surely going to be running on pure frustration in this one, taking her first defeat at the hands of Concrete Pete on Monday. She'll step into the ring with the undefeated Emelia "Air" Hart, looking to re-establish her hold on the top spot in the block... but can she topple the surging Hart?
It's a wild one in Block B's main event of the night, with two remarkable talents squaring off for what could be one of the most important matches of the entire block. Todd Colton will aim to bring his superior technique into play and bring Eddy down, but we've seen how dangerous Eddy can be when his back is to the wall...
Finally, closing out the night, a long-anticipated matchup. Eri Sentarl and Fresh Suzuki have both impressed thus far, and although Fresh's record may not suggest it, she's been competitive against everyone, as the Inspire Champion ought to be. Eri, however, has been motivated far beyond what we've usually seen from her... and she could make this one a match to remember. A win would easily help her keep pace with the rest of the block, and help her get ever closer to her goal of winning the entire tournament...

A word from Roland Chang III: Roland Chang III: I like where I'm at right now in this. Beat a tough lady in Veronika, got my record positive and I have my new gear, finally! It's stupid, and I'm not going to lie, I know it. But I think that those new tights made a big difference. Made me feel like I could put that loss to Urani in the past and show off what I've been working on. So then, Sanya. He hasn't been having a fun time here, lost three straight matches. Fans been rumbling that he's not any good, he's a loser, he's boring. I see all this, and I don't see any easy win. I see that I might have to fight like hell to beat a pissed off Russian. This is the sort of a match that can wreck someone's run if they aren't careful. Which means, I better be focused and ready when I hit the ring tonight. I'm not overlooking this match, I'm going to take it head on, and hopefully, I walk out four and one and ready to climb back up to challenge for the top.

We're halfway through, and now we're getting a real good sense of who might come away with this thing... but with three nights of block action left, anything could happen to shake things up. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/771810600Youtube: youtu.be/c2TXvocxzooQuick Results Victor Kintelas def. Angel Leblanc Urani Whitemist def. Veronika Armstrong HAYATO def. Concrete Pete Titania def. Kyle Anderson Anari Lynn Heyward def. Silver Hawk to retain the Pacific Northwest Championship Sanya Markov def. Roland Chang III Strawberry Sookie def. Emelia "Air" Hart Todd Colton def. Eddy Introspect Fresh Suzuki def. Eri Sentarl Write-ups A very, very strong start to the night from Victor here, wiping Angel out with the Kintelas Driver and making it very clear that he's far from out of the running in Block A. Angel, meanwhile, continues to struggle on her own, as usual... perhaps this setting just isn't to her strengths. For all the fight that Veronika had in her tonight, for as close as she came to actually toppling the Titan, it just wasn't enough. She landed a few crushing Spears, tried to lock in the Dragon Clutch, but ultimately, she wasn't fighting a one-sided battle... and Urani managed to pull off a Whitemist Bomb to put this one away and remain undefeated. Finally, we get a glimpse of the man we know HAYATO can be. He stood in the ring against Concrete Pete and shut the big man down, coming away with an incredibly important victory, delivering a pair of HAYATO Drivers to keep at least some hope alive for himself in the block. As dominant as Urani's been in Block B, her victory is not yet a foregone conclusion... because Titania is still red-hot, even after losing to Urani for her only defeat thus far. She was monstrous here against Kyle in one of the best matches of the night, weathering a brutal string of offense on the outside to eventually land her lariat into the Iron Claw, and scored a huge win to keep her momentum going. Anari Lynn Heyward has clearly broken the "curse" over the Pacific Northwest Championship. Three successful defenses is easily the best run in months, and she was a wrecking ball against Silver Hawk here, though she did have to work for her win. Finally, we get a look at the Russian beast that is the proper Sanya Markov. Roland Chang III just could not get things going here, as we saw Markov on a mission... and although he's already been practically eliminated from contention, he's not quite dead yet... there's still the incredibly slim hope that he can win out and that Urani will fall... If Sookie wasn't going undefeated, then she wasn't going to let anyone else do it. She was simply vicious here, a brutal dismantling of the formerly-undefeated Emelia, and reminded everyone that she is still the Evergreen Champion, and one would do well not to get on her bad side... Todd Colton didn't seem entirely sure what to make of this match. He was far from used to Eddy's usual antics in the ring, though he kept a cautious eye on Eddy throughout, working his usual gameplan: target the arms, and wait for the right moment. Eventually, he got his moment, landing a Destroyer to pick up the win, and ensure he's still on track in Block B. Fresh Suzuki simply would not be denied. As much as Eri threw at her, the Inspire Champion would not stay down, would not give in... and she'd eventually score a quick rana-pin, perhaps through instinct, perhaps a deliberate gameplan, perhaps desperation. Either way, Fresh picks up a major victory, and Eri now finds herself having to try and catch up once again.

Night 5 coming up tomorrow night, and this might be where we start to see the blocks decided... people are going to fall off the pace entirely, and perhaps we'll know who's headed for the finals soon. Angel Leblanc (1-3) vs. HAYATO (1-3)Eddy Introspect (2-2) vs. Roland Chang III (2-2)Eri Sentarl (2-2) vs. Strawberry Sookie (3-1)Urani Whitemist (4-0) vs. Sanya Markov (1-3)Concrete Pete (2-2) vs. Emelia "Air" Hart (3-1)Veronika Armstrong (0-4) vs. Titania (3-1)Victor Kintelas (2-2) vs. Fresh Suzuki (2-2)Todd Colton (3-1) vs. Kyle Anderson (1-3)The night kicks off with two members of Block A who've simply had a hard time finding their footing, right from the start. Angel Leblanc and HAYATO have both struggled to get out of the gates, with only a single win apiece... but that changes here, as one of them will have to come out ahead.
Eddy Introspect might have an uphill battle in this one as he takes on the powerhouse that is Roland Chang III. But never, ever count Eddy out of a match... no matter what match it might be. We've seen magic out of Eddy throughout this tournament, and this one may not prove any different... especially given Chang's relative inexperience.
Eri Sentarl is still determined to stay in the hunt for the block victory... and she can pull it off if she can win out. Still, standing in her way is none other than Strawberry Sookie... and as we've seen, Sookie can be extremely dangerous when pushed too far. Eri will have to focus if she wants to get the win without walking away a bloody mess.
Sanya Markov finally scored his first win of the tournament on Thursday, but now, with rumors of some changes for the Russian floating around, he faces easily the toughest challenge yet: the Titan. Urani Whitemist will seek to remain undefeated as she faces Sanya, looking to utterly dominate Block B.
Speed vs. power, that's all there is to it. Emelia "Air" Hart has been nothing short of incredible right from the start... and with only a single defeat, coming at the hands of an incredibly pissed-off Strawberry Sookie, one has to imagine she could be the favorite to take Block A right now.
Veronika Armstrong continues to struggle as the tournament goes on... sitting at 0-4, the only winless competitor thus far, she now has the tall task of facing off against Titania. While Veronika isn't the biggest powerhouse around, she does have strength to spare against Titania here, but will she be motivated enough to break her losing streak?
It's the Top Prospect taking on the Inspire Champion... a wild rarity, given Proving Ground's typical rules. The question now is simple: can Fresh Suzuki topple the man that's been one of Proving Ground's most dominant names for so long? Or will Victor crush the dreams of every fan in attendance once again? (God knows Victor's always been a bit of a jerk, even when the crowd got behind him...)
Closing out the night, it's as simple as this: two of the greatest talents in Phoenix Rising, squaring off in a main event. Todd Colton simply has to keep winning... and hoping that Urani slips up and drops a match while he wins out. Kyle, meanwhile, would love to ruin the loudmouth's run right here... so close to the end. Two losses could be a completely insurmountable obstacle for Todd, and destroy his chances of keeping up with the Titan...

Five down, two to go. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/775929891Youtube: youtu.be/Ld80yCm0-J0Quick Results HAYATO def. Angel Leblanc Eddy Introspect def. Roland Chang III Eri Sentarl def. Strawberry Sookie Urani Whitemist def. Sanya Markov Emelia "Air" Hart def. Concrete Pete Veronika Armstrong def. Titania Victor Kintelas def. Fresh Suzuki Todd Colton def. Kyle Anderson Write-ups Quite the intense battle between these two, despite being at the bottom of the block... but HAYATO, determined to close his run out on a high note, came out swinging here and walked out with a big win after a second HAYATO Driver gave him the victory. Angel, quite simply, doesn't seem to have it without the rest of LBB at her side... You simply do not count Eddy Introspect out at any point. No matter who he's facing, no matter what the situation might be, Eddy can find a way to beat you... and that's what he did here, weathering Chang's vicious power offense, and snapping off a huge cutter to steal yet another huge upset victory. Eri Sentarl refuses to let anyone stop her. Two losses thus far in the block, it seems like she simply can't afford another... and she's fighting as though that's the case, taking this one straight to Sookie, and nailing the Little Phoenix to score an important victory, and stay in the hunt. Sanya Markov came out with a new look, and immediately, there was a sense that this was a much more dangerous man than the one we've seen so far. And although he ultimately couldn't come away with the win, he made Urani Whitemist pull out everything in her arsenal short of the Whitemist Bomb to put this one away, including a colossal moonsault. Still, the old standby, the Ushi-goroshi, scored Urani her fifth victory... and the Titan remains undefeated. Can Emelia keep this up? She's scored victory after victory, and other than a stunning loss to Strawberry Sookie, she's been seemingly unstoppable, even taking down Concrete Pete here after taking two Cement Mixers. Still, her next match on Thursday may prove to be the biggest test of her entire tournament run... as she takes on the Little Phoenix, Eri Sentarl. Veronika Armstrong is winless no longer... and in addition, she's made life very, very difficult for Titania. A huge match here, with wild brawls on the outside, but Veronika landed a snap powerbomb to pick up the huge win... giving Titania her second loss, and making her path to victory an unlikely one, with the undefeated Urani looming over Block B. Victor Kintelas was out to prove something tonight, though against Fresh Suzuki, it wasn't exactly an easy time. This one got wild, with Fresh doing her best to keep moving, to keep her speed in play, but Victor would finally shut her down after landing a crushing Frog Splash, and another tournament participant seems to have had some opinion turn against him... not that Victor seems to care. Five Star Kyle and the greatest technician in the world today (if you ask Todd Colton, anyway). A recipe for a fantastic match, and these two really did give it their all... but Todd, clearly, had done his homework for this match, staying a step ahead and never letting up in his attack, landing a huge Tornado DDT before putting this one to rest with the Binding Suplex. Todd's still in the hunt... staring down a potential Night 7 showdown with the undefeated Titan. But Todd still has to get through one more opponent just to have the chance of keeping pace with Urani... none other than Roland Chang III.

We're getting close... after this one, just one more week of action to go, and we'll know who's going to stand against the World Champion at New Year's Bash. Fresh Suzuki (2-3) vs. HAYATO (2-3)
Titania (3-2) vs. Eddy Introspect (3-2)
Victor Kintelas (3-2) vs. Strawberry Sookie (3-2)
Kyle Anderson (1-4) vs. Urani Whitemist (5-0)
Angel Leblanc (1-4) vs. Concrete Pete (2-3)
Roland Chang III (2-3) vs. Todd Colton (4-1)
Eri Sentarl (3-2) vs. Emelia "Air" Hart (4-1)
Sanya Markov (1-4) vs. Veronika Armstrong (1-4) It's a tough one to call here, with Fresh Suzuki and HAYATO both having a few stumbles along the way so far... but a lot could change right here, as both seek to finish out strong and stay in the hunt to win Block A. Whatever happens, though, we've seen both of them do quite well for themselves, even if it took HAYATO a little while to hit his stride. This could have a huge effect on Block B. Titania and Eddy are both looking to stay in the hunt... the winner still having a shot (at least until we see what Urani does) and the loser falling out of contention entirely. Titania has the power to shut any opponent down, but Eddy's been screwing up runs for the entire tournament... and he could turn this one around in a hurry as well. Victor and Sookie have both fared reasonably well so far, but this could decide where they end up at the end of it. The Evergreen Champion has looked strong throughout, but a stumble against Concrete Pete and a loss to Eri Sentarl have made it unclear where she might wind up at the end... This could be where the whole block is decided. Urani Whitemist seeks to remain undefeated against Kyle Anderson... but Kyle could turn the entire block on its head if he can pull off a win here. There's simply no telling what might end up happening in this one... but Todd Colton and whoever wins between Titania and Eddy will be watching this one closely, no doubt. A win for Urani will mean that only Todd has a chance anymore... Angel Leblanc's run has been... disappointing, to say the least. Once again running without LBB at her side, she's struggled immensely, and it doesn't seem like that's likely to change against Concrete Pete... because although Pete's run hasn't been spectacular, he's certainly had his strengths, and this one just might be one of them. Roland Chang III has certainly proven he's hit a new level in his career, don't be fooled by his record here. Regardless of where he ends up, he's looked better than ever before... but is it really going to be enough against the man who's kept pace with the undefeated Urani? Todd Colton seems determined to take the block himself, against all odds... but with back-to-back matches against Chang and Urani, can he really finish out strong? This is going to be a spectacular matchup. The Little Phoenix steps into the ring against another fellow high-flyer in Emelia "Air" Hart, and Eri, perhaps still determined to come out of the tournament at the top of the standings, looks like she may be gunning for a big win over Emelia here... but it won't be easy, as Hart's only lost a single match over the course of the past month. Closing out the night, some would argue it's an odd choice to put these two in the main event... but at the same time, this match could prove to be a wild one, given Sanya's upgrades and Veronika's sudden momentum. It may not mean anything for the standings, but bragging rights would certainly be a major factor here...

Just one more night to go before we settle what's on the final night. Still a little bit to go, but the home stretch has arrived. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/778970088Youtube: youtu.be/1_RtLHjgmr0Quick Results HAYATO def. Fresh Suzuki Eddy Introspect def. Titania Strawberry Sookie def. Victor Kintelas Kyle Anderson def. Urani Whitemist Concrete Pete def. Angel Leblanc Todd Colton def. Roland Chang III Eri Sentarl def. Emelia "Air" Hart Veronika Armstrong def. Sanya Markov Write-ups HAYATO continues to surge as the back half of the tournament rolls along. Still, he had to work for this win over Fresh, narrowly slipping away with the win as he locked in the familiar submission, keeping a faint glimmer of hope alive for his chances in the block. What else is there to say? Eddy Introspect once again does what he does best... stealing a win in clutch fashion, seizing an opportunity to lock in his brutal facelock submission, and once again walking away with an incredible win. Strawberry Sookie perhaps saw how effective it was for Eddy... and she wound up finishing Victor with the exact same submission! Sookie remains well on track to make it to the final night, but one last match stands in her way... This was an all-out war to the finish, with the entire future of Block B riding on the outcome. Urani could've forced her way onto the final card with a win here... but Kyle Anderson came out swinging, and never let up for a second, eventually trapping Urani in the Triangle Scissors, and forcing the Titan to give in... A match that nobody expected to go anywhere... most expected a resounding Pete victory, but Angel simply wouldn't give in here, fighting with everything she had, even through Pete's brutal biting attack that left her a bloody mess. Still, the outcome never really seemed in doubt despite her wild fight, falling to a piledriver and Pete's massive weight following up with a splash. This one was wild from start to finish. Todd Colton gave up a lot of advantages to Chang here: size, strength... but his technical ability and experience carried him, along with a wild recklessness that we don't often see from him. Back-to-back Spider German suplexes leading into a flying Tornado DDT gave Todd the win... and ensured that his final match, against Urani Whitemist, would decide the winner of Block B. Eri Sentarl has her eyes set on the final night. She was at her best here against Emelia, refusing to slow down, and pulled off an impressive victory to climb her way back to the top of the block... but we could be headed for a major tiebreaker on the final night. Many thought it was a bit odd to put this match on last, given the records of both Veronika and Sanya. But disregarding their records, this match was one of the best of the night, with Sanya determined to bring his full power to bear against Veronika, while the Oakland metal star roared through and eventually landed a huge Spear to pull off the win, giving herself some serious momentum as the tournament draws to a close. Todd Colton "So, here we are. Winner Take All, on the last night, in the last match of the tournament. The greatest technician in the business today, against the Titan herself. I wouldn't have this any other way. Urani wanted to sweep her way through the block, coast into the final night without being contested... well, Kyle Anderson saw to it that you gotta fight your way in. And I did what I had to do to make sure this happened.
Every single person in the crowd has been expecting Urani to just plow her way through the whole damn field like she was the Black Dragon. Like she was some kind of unstoppable force of nature, that somehow they figure Urani challenging for the World Championship is destiny, or some shit. I don't give a shit about 'destiny'. I don't give a shit about what's 'supposed' to happen. Because come Monday night, I'm going to take Urani Whitemist down, I'm going to be the outright winner of Block B, I'm gonna go into the final and I'm going to be the Grand Ascension winner when all's said and done, no matter who you put in front of me.
Oh, and while I'm thinking about it... I couldn't help but keep an eye on what was being said down in Texas after Monday night... old man Chang Jr. shitting on the kid for losing to Eddy Introspect. So lemme set you straight before you go running your damn mouth again. I've heard it all. People saying I don't have what it takes, people saying I won and it was a fluke, people saying whatever the hell they wanna say. And I can already hear you saying it yourself, that you're gonna go after the kid for losing to me as well, I can already feel it.
So you listen to me, old man. You wanna talk shit about the top technician, the best talent in Phoenix Rising, that's fine. You wanna start some shit, I might find the time to make my way to Texas and give you a first-hand look at what the hell your kid had to face off against.
Now it's possible that you weren't gonna run your mouth at all, and I don't need to be stirring anything up with you. But y'know what? I know guys like you, 'cause I'm one of 'em. Difference is: I got the skills, I got the words, I got everything to back it up. So you better watch yourself... because if I could take down the youngest, I sure as hell don't gotta worry about you."

Tomorrow night, we hit the last night of block action... with a tremendously important match to close things out ahead of the final night on Thursday. Concrete Pete (3-3) vs. Victor Kintelas (3-3)
Eddy Introspect (4-2) vs. Sanya Markov (1-5)
HAYATO (3-3) vs. Emelia "Air" Hart (4-2)
Titania (3-3) vs. Roland Chang III (2-4)
Strawberry Sookie (4-2) vs. Fresh Suzuki (2-4)
Veronika Armstrong (2-4) vs. Kyle Anderson (2-4)
Eri Sentarl (4-2) vs. Angel Leblanc (1-5)
Urani Whitemist (5-1) vs. Todd Colton (5-1) Starting things off, Victor and Pete will do what they can do in the hopes of somehow staying in the mix for the final. It'd take a minor miracle to get there, but their chances aren't quite gone yet... the winner here will have to hope that Emelia, Sookie and Eri all lose their matches, which is certainly a tall order. But no doubt, this match will still be a good one. Eddy Introspect may be out of the running to win Block B, but make no mistake, he came out as easily one of the top talents in the tournament. Sanya Markov, however, despite a rough time of it, might have suddenly found his footing at the very end... while he still only holds the single victory (over Roland Chang III), he's looked far, far more competitive late in the block... The first of three huge matches for Block A. HAYATO could turn the whole block on its head if he can pull off a win here... not to mention potentially earning his way into the final with the same method as the winner of Pete/Victor. But Emelia has been easily one of the toughest members of the block from day one... and it's going to take a lot to stop her momentum. Two powerhouses square off, but Titania may find this one a bit much. We've seen her struggle in the past against larger opponents that have the power to match her, and Chang has that and more... this could be a rough one, and Chang would love to finish off his run strong after some disappointing showings. Strawberry Sookie isn't likely to leave quietly. A win here by the Evergreen Champion would ensure a spot for her on the card for Thursday... fighting for something big. But Fresh Suzuki, despite a rough run, stands in her way and could be one hell of a roadblock. Veronika and Kyle would certainly have preferred their tournament runs to go a little better... but Veronika's finally begun to hit her stride, at least, and could carry that momentum into Evergreen when it gets rolling again. As for Kyle, this is a matchup that may still favor him somewhat... it won't be easy to simply shut Veronika down. Eri Sentarl steps into the ring with a woman that's been a thorn in her side (and that of her friends and family) for quite some time. Angel Leblanc, though, has easily had one of the worst performances of the entire tournament... competitive at times, but never able to put the pieces together for more than a single win. Eri could make her way towards the finals with a win here... but by this point, she'll know how many others she might be looking at facing. Finally, the biggest match of the night, perhaps of the entire tournament to date. Urani Whitemist fell in defeat to Kyle Anderson last Thursday, in a stunning upset that put Todd Colton's destiny into his own hands... and now, with both tied at 5-1, this is it. Block B's winner will be decided right here, winner take all: the winner goes to the grand final, the loser walks away disappointed...

The dust has settled, and the blocks are finished. We have a Block B champion already... and a huge tiebreaker to sort out on Thursday. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/783172452Youtube: youtu.be/9ZTwtF1K6nkQuick Results Victor Kintelas def. Concrete Pete Sanya Markov def. Eddy Introspect Emelia "Air" Hart def. HAYATO Roland Chang III def. Titania Strawberry Sookie def. Fresh Suzuki Kyle Anderson def. Veronika Armstrong Eri Sentarl def. Angel Leblanc Todd Colton def. Urani Whitemist to win Block B Write-ups A roaring start to the night as these two clashed in what was sort of a "last effort" for both... they still had an outside chance of getting to the final tiebreaker with a win, but it required three different losses. Victor came away with the win here despite being bloodied early on, landing his devastating leaping cutter to finish out strong. Sanya Markov was a force of nature in this match... and the only reason, seemingly, that this wasn't a complete squash was that Eddy just would not go down to anything. Thanks to that, he got a fair bit more offense on Sanya than the Russian would've liked... but a brutal slam into the turnbuckle finally brought this one to an end. Emelia "Air" Hart quickly came out of the gates with a huge win to ensure her spot on Thursday's show... tearing HAYATO apart with her usual style, and finishing at a very strong 5-2... though, as we'd find out, she wouldn't be the only one to hit that mark in Block A. This was probably the single hardest-hitting match of the night, to no surprise, given who was in the ring. Titania gave as good as she got here, but Chang, clearly determined not to take another loss after his rough week last week, eventually brought this to a thunderous end with a Lawndart into the turnbuckle, scoring a major win to close out his tournament run. Strawberry Sookie never seemed to care about what the people wanted... she was not going to let anyone pass her by, and with a win needed to stay on top of Block A, she came out without hesitation and took down Fresh Suzuki, much to the dismay of the crowd, setting herself up in a tiebreaker for Thursday... For every counter Veronika Armstrong was able to get, Kyle Anderson seemed to have another response to keep the pressure going. And while Veronika looked incredibly dangerous here, Kyle was just a step better tonight, eventually landing the Five Star Combination (after multiple blocked attempts) to force Veronika to give up. There's still some fire left in the Little Phoenix as we come to the end of the tournament. She was absolutely dynamic here, an incredible force against Angel, whose threats towards Eri simply didn't seem to register at all. Eri came out of this with white-hot momentum... and as she moves towards Thursday, a three-way tiebreaker match against Sookie and Emelia... Eri might be poised to have her biggest breakout moment ever. Had this not been a winner-take-all match, Eri vs. Angel had been planned to be the main event. In hindsight, this was easily the better option in the end, as this match was everything you could've ever asked for. This match had it all... Urani's raw power came into play more than a little, as she sought to plow through Todd, but he just wouldn't stop coming... cranking on the arms, showing off his pure technical prowess. But how did this one end? With the move that Todd's seen multiple victories with already: the flying Tornado DDT, crushing Urani into the mat, and giving Todd perhaps the most unlikely win of the entire night. He's won Block B... and he's waiting for the Grand Finals. Todd Colton "You might as well call it right there. I just took down the Titan. I just beat the so-called 'favorite' to win this block, I put an end to any of this talk about how Urani's the most dominant force around... and now, I find out the other block's gotta have one last match, a three-way no less, to decide their winner? Not a single one of those three has what it takes to beat me. Not one. But, y'know, I'll humor you. I'll give you the chance. Whoever comes out of that mess... well, let's see.
Strawberry Sookie, let's start there. Crazy, violent, psycho... but I've seen your game, and I don't care that you're the Evergreen Champion... you're not at the level I'm at, end of story. I'm the greatest technician alive today, I'm Phoenix Rising's #1 talent, and no garbage wrestler out of Evergreen is gonna be the one to stop me.
Emelia Hart... y'know, you're good. Fast, relentless. But you've had more matches ahead of this thing than anyone else, and sooner or later... all that's gonna catch up to you. And whether it's the tiebreaker that gets you, or yours truly, you're not winning this thing.
And then there's the 'Little Phoenix'. Eri Sentarl... kid, you don't even remotely have what it takes. How many times have you choked when it mattered? How many times have you gotten so, so close only to blow it at the last second? You stepped out of your singles career only to turn around and enter this tournament... and you think that stretch of focusing on your tag team is gonna help you beat me? Or the other two?
Y'know what, I'd love to see you actually win that match, Eri, because first of all, it gives me another chance to put a Sentarl in their damn place. And secondly... I could add myself to the short list of people that made you tap out. Because I guarantee, Eri, if you make it through that tiebreaker to face me? I'm going to make you regret ever setting foot in that ring at all, because I'm going to make damn sure you can't even lift your arms by the time it's all over. Every wrestler has their limits... and I'm going to find yours if you challenge me.
Either way, though... come Thursday night, you'll be crowning the Grand Ascension champion... Todd... Fucking... Colton."

Thursday night, we bring this thing to a close. Emelia "Air" Hart vs. Eri Sentarl vs. Strawberry Sookie to win Block A
Eddy Introspect vs. Riccardo De Luca
Urani Whitemist vs. Laura Tate
Angel Leblanc vs. Veronika Armstrong
Mascara Avispa vs. Anari Lynn Heyward for the Pacific Northwest Championship
Shiana Sentarl in action
Victor Kintelas, HAYATO, Concrete Pete and Fresh Suzuki vs. Titania, Roland Chang III, Kyle Anderson and Sanya Markov, Showcase Elimination Tag Rules
Freya O'Malley vs. Laenara Kintelas for the Phoenix Rising World Championship
Grand Ascension Finals: Winner of Emelia/Eri/Sookie vs. Todd ColtonKicking things off, we jump straight into the action: a three-way match to decide the winner of Block A. These three have fought hard to get to this point, but only one of them can stand at the top... and go on to face Block B winner Todd Colton at the end of the night.
Every participant in the tournament has a match on this card... starting with Eddy Introspect, who steps into the ring against 50-State Tournament semi-finalist Riccardo De Luca. It's believed that Riccardo may have been signed to Proving Ground and could make his proper debut on that show Monday night... but first, he'll get to show off once again here on the final night of the Ascension against a very tough opponent.
It's a clash of titans here as Urani Whitemist takes on Laura Tate. Laura is perhaps one of the few women around that matches Urani in stature, but her inexperience may stand in her way against one of Phoenix Rising's most powerful and dangerous talents.
Angel Leblanc found herself struggling the entire tournament... coming away with only a single victory, and with tournament rules essentially banning Les Beautes Blondes from ringside, she simply didn't have anything to fall back on. That changes here as she squares off with Veronika Armstrong... she'll almost certainly have her allies at ringside, but Veronika likely won't come alone herself...
Anari Lynn Heyward is on a roll as of late. She's made three defenses of the Pacific Northwest Championship, and now seeks a fourth against Mascara Avispa... but Avispa has always been a dangerous opponent, and his speed may prove the edge needed to take down Anari and end what's been the longest PNW reign in months.
We're not yet sure what Shiana Sentarl is planning here... we know she'll be in a match, but her opponent hasn't been announced. Kileas Kintelas will likely be keeping an eye on this, as he's made it no secret that he's been out to challenge her since his return, but it's unlikely that he's the one that'll be showing up here.
A huge 4v4 tag match to take us into the biggest part of the night: teams representing both blocks will square off under Showcase rules (no cut play, elimination rules). There's simply no telling how this one might end up going... but it'll sure as hell be a wild one.
We've been anticipating this match since the end of the 50-State Tournament. Freya O'Malley has been one of the biggest surprises that Phoenix Rising's ever seen... and she's got her eyes set on the World Championship held by Laenara Kintelas. But Lae's been a fighting champion, and hasn't backed down an inch to any of her challengers... and she certainly won't back down from this one, no matter how good Freya's been.
Finally, we close things out with the biggest match of the tournament. Todd Colton squares off against the Block A winner, decided in the night's opener. They'll have time to recuperate after what's certain to be a grueling three-way contest, but will they have enough rest to come out against Todd and pull off the victory? Or will Todd sweep his way through this match and earn the shot that he feels he's entitled to?

That's the end of it, the Grand Ascension draws to a close, and we have our winner, and the one they'll challenge in two months at New Year's Bash. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/786235742Youtube: youtu.be/qt9jDrgp4zAQuick Results Eri Sentarl def. Strawberry Sookie and Emelia "Air" Hart Riccardo De Luca def. Eddy Introspect Laura Tate def. Urani Whitemist Angel Leblanc def. Veronika Armstrong Mascara Avispa def. Anari Lynn Heyward to become the NEW Pacific Northwest Champion Shiana Sentarl def. Rachel White Team Pete (YES, TEAM PETE) def. Team Kyle Laenara Kintelas def. Freya O'Malley to retain the World Championship Eri Sentarl def. Todd Colton to WIN THE GRAND ASCENSION Write-ups We kicked the night off big, jumping straight into the action with the three-way match to decide Block A's winner. And although Eri seemed to lag behind her two opponents for a fair part of this match, she absolutely turned up the pressure... and exploited the seeming animosity between Sookie and Emelia to land the Little Phoenix on Sookie to score an elimination... and then, just a couple of minutes later, trapped Emelia in the Romero Special to pick up a huge win and make it to the finals. We haven't gotten to see much of Riccardo since the end of the 50-State Tournament, but a lot came out here: first, that he's clearly just as relentless and quick as ever, and secondly, that he's apparently signed to Proving Ground to join the Top Prospect division. Eddy made this one interesting down the stretch, but Riccardo turned up the heat not long after, landing a huge Spanish Fly to score the win. After Urani's absurdly dominant showing in the tournament (other than her two mis-steps), one might think that this match favored her heavily. But Laura Tate, having not really gotten as much of a chance to show what she's got than other 50-State participants... clearly wanted to prove something big here. And she absolutely did that, meeting the Titan face-to-face, and came away with perhaps one of the most stunning upsets of the entire month. This was a match Angel needed badly, and she's got to be feeling much better about her poor performance now that she's able to have the rest of LBB at ringside again. They didn't prove much of a factor here except as moral support, but even that much seemed to do wonders for Angel, who scored the win with her familiar Figure Eight. Four defenses proved to be just a bit too much here. Mascara Avispa came roaring out of the gate and made it look easy against Anari, who nevertheless still kept this one close to the end... but La Avispa would force the champion to submit, and give Avispa the Pacific Northwest Championship, dethroning the woman who up to now has been the most dominant PNW champion of the year. This was supposed to be an easy match for Shiana, to work herself back into the ring, an easy victory with the odds so heavily stacked in her favor she couldn't possibly have trouble... only nobody told Rachel White. Clearly seething over being considered the "easy target", she was on fire in this one, ripping into Shiana and putting her back to the wall time and time again... and while Shiana did eventually take the win, locking in her brutal Romero variation, she was clearly annoyed over having to put far more effort into it than she expected. If not for what came after this match, it might've gone down as the match of the night. Things looked dire for the Block A team, "captained" by Victor Kintelas... and a sweep looked imminent, first with Titania taking out Fresh Suzuki, and Sanya wiping out both Victor and HAYATO in short order after that. Enter Concrete Pete, stepping into a one-on-four situation that looked absolutely impossible... only for him to start working his way through the field, until only Sanya Markov remained. And then, in a stunning comeback moment, he landed the Cement Mixer on Sanya... and completed the reverse sweep, coming back from impossible odds to stand as the only man left in the ring at the end. This was a match that saw everything that both women had to offer, and while it's been enough for Freya in past matches, it didn't quite get the job done against the World Champion. Laenara Kintelas didn't hold anything back on the newcomer, the tournament champion, and although she couldn't force Freya to tap out to the submission that she beat the Dragon with, she would eventually land a Moonsault on an exhausted Freya, and scored a big win to defend her title, and ensure that she'll hold that title until at least New Year's Bash... And at New Year's Bash, Laenara Kintelas will face off against none other than the Little Phoenix. In what may go down as Phoenix Rising's match of the year, Eri Sentarl, already having had a match earlier in the night just to get here, stepped into the ring with Todd Colton, who continues to declare himself the World's Greatest Technician. And for well over twenty minutes, he made his claim an accurate one... only he just couldn't put Eri away, no matter how hard he tried, no matter how many armbars he put on... even as Eri writhed in pain on the mat, her arms limp at her sides, she stubbornly refused to quit, and for good reason. She still had enough in the tank to throw herself into one big combo... culminating in a huge seated Superkick, falling onto Todd for the pinfall, the victory, and the Grand Ascension. The Little Phoenix is as close to the top of the mountain as she's ever been... but now, she has two months to prepare for the single biggest match of her entire career. Eri Sentarl "I wanted... so badly, to talk in front of the crowd, out in the ring, after I won, but... I was tired, I was so worn out... couldn't even lift my arms properly to celebrate out there. I'm still sore... I'm gonna be sore for days, I think... but nothing can take away what happened out there. Two big matches, two big victories, and I won. I won the whole thing...
The second Grand Ascension winner... that's the Little Phoenix, that's me. Last year there was all this talk about who deserved what, about who should've won... and it pushed my mom down a road that she still hasn't come back from. Nobody's gonna claim that this year. I'm sure... that there's people out there that don't think I should be standing here right now, but... Look, I've been doubted for my entire career. I've been looked down on, I've been pushed aside, I've had my fair share of defeats and embarrassments, but I keep getting back up, I keep pushing to do better every single time I go out there.
I wasn't gonna let myself leave without winning this whole thing. After I won that opening match... I knew deep down that I wasn't going to be satisfied unless I beat Todd. That no matter what, I wasn't going to let myself quit. He wanted to force me to tap out... wanted me to do what nobody can do, and make me quit. But you can't. No one can.
Laenara... In two months, you and I are gonna face each other for the biggest title in the game right now. And it won't be about Sentarl vs. Kintelas. It'll just be you and me, the best of the best today, fighting over the top prize in Phoenix Rising. And I won't be satisfied with anything less than a win. I won't walk out into 2021 without that title. I'm sending this year off by becoming the World Champion, and I won't back down for a second. I want nothing less than the best you've got... because I want to be absolutely sure that I deserve that title. That I earned my way to the top, that I wasn't just handed a belt...
I'm going to prove that I'm able to stand at the top, not because of my name, but because of my talent. I'm counting down the days already... and I can't wait." Todd Colton "Every single fuckin' time it's gotta be THEM. The whole damn family... why is it, that whenever I start to find any sort of momentum, some Sentarl bitch comes along to cut my knees out from under me? You made a big mistake not tapping out, Eri, you made a REAL big mistake. If you would've just given up like a normal person, you could've maybe gotten a second chance... sometime next year, I'm sure. But I'm not gonna forget this. I'm not gonna let you get away. You watch your fuckin' back, because I know damn well you're not World Championship material... so I'm gonna make sure you don't go to New Year's Bash."

October's over, November's here and we're back to normal operating procedures once again. Proving Ground comes along Monday night. Nick MacLeod vs. Rilantha De Nav
The Yoshida Twins vs. The Gallego Twins
Mercedes Ortega vs. Christina Wagner
Sanya Markov vs. Avery Adonis Alexander
HAYATO and SATOMI vs. The Excellent Blades
Titania vs. Anna Bryant
Riccardo De Luca vs. Akira Ryusaki
Winter Fresh vs. Amber and Arthur Wright
Jessika Boom vs. Calista Vargas Kicking things off in a big way this week, as Proving Ground returns with a rising star taking on a long-time veteran. Nick MacLeod seeks to make a big name for himself by bringing down one of Phoenix Rising's most enduring names, but it won't be an easy task... I'm gonna be honest, I don't know if I've run this match already, but it's a good one regardless... twins vs. twins, identical vs. fraternal, the Yoshidas and the Gallegos. Two clashing styles here as these teams look to stake their claim for the Proving Ground tag titles, still held by La Familiar for the time being. Another clashing styles matchup here, with Mercedes Ortega's speed squaring off against the raw power of Christina Wagner. This one's going to be tough to call: if Mercedes can get her momentum going, she may very well be unstoppable, but Wagner's strength can't be ignored. This match had originally been scheduled to be Sanya vs. Hugo Dirksen... at least, until AAA decided to take a cheap-shot as their tag match came to a close on Lightning Pro Friday night. Sanya quickly swore vengeance against the Muscle Machines... the defeat was bad enough, but the low blow as the bell rang? This one may get ugly in a hurry. HAYATO, coming off of a rough start and closing strong in the Grand Ascension, now returns to Proving Ground alongside SATOMI as they square off with one of the best teams around in the Excellent Blades. Nicole and Donna have had plenty of opportunities, but have yet to fully capitalize... but their moment may be coming sooner rather than later, if they can get through the Tachibanas. Anna Bryant has her eyes set on quite the challenge this week... although she fell in defeat to Jessika Boom in the last Proving Ground before the Grand Ascension, she's rested and ready for a big match against Titania, who had a tournament run that could easily be described as "disappointing". Anna's pure technique will be her weapon here against Titania's incredible power. It's the proper debut of Riccardo De Luca, as he makes his first Proving Ground appearance, taking on Akira Ryusaki. Riccardo's got his sights set high... the 50-State semi-finalist has been easily one of the biggest names coming out of the tournament, and he seems primed for an incredible Proving Ground run. Fresh Suzuki is back to team with Rin Ryusaki, as Winter Fresh reunite now that the Grand Ascension is over. The incredible high-flying duo will square off with the Wright siblings, Amber and Arthur, as they look to make their own case for a shot at La Familia's tag titles. Finally, closing out the night, a match that may have Inspire Championship implications, as two of Proving Ground's best high-flyers square off in this week's main event. Jessika Boom will be looking for a huge breakout moment, while Calista Vargas seeks to keep her momentum red-hot, perhaps next in line to take a shot at Fresh Suzuki if she can win this match. Sanya Markov "Bad enough that we lost to the Muscle Machines on Friday night. Bad enough that our power proved not enough to stop those two. But for this Avery Alexander to take a cheap shot at the end of the match for no reason other than to seek to embarrass me? You've made a dire mistake, 'Adonis'. Perhaps you will fare better without Gear to hold you back... but I promise you, I am a far different beast when I stand alone. And you will find out exactly what you've gotten yourself into before long. You will meet with the full might of Russian power and athleticism." One final note: after Monday's show, along with the show results, I'll be posting a preview of a brand-new project that will run as a new show... filling in one of Evergreen's usual twice-a-month Thursday slots. I'll be showing off a logo and the fed roster there, so don't miss it... especially because its first show will be Thursday, November 12. It's gonna be reaaaaaaal big.

We're back in the swing of things, and we've got a lot of ground to cover tonight, so let's start with the results from tonight's show... then we'll get a second post that covers a big upcoming project. Twitch: www.twitch.tv/videos/790507404Youtube: youtu.be/bS3Vr2UieTsQuick Results Nick MacLeod def. Rilantha De Nav The Gallego Twins def. The Yoshida Twins Mercedes Ortega def. Christina Wagner Sanya Markov def. Avery Adonis Alexander The Excellent Blades def. HAYATO and SATOMI Anna Bryant def. Titania Akira Ryusaki def. Riccardo De Luca Arthur and Amber Wright def. Winter Fresh Calista Vargas def. Jessika Boom Write-ups Proving Ground came back with a roaring start as Nick MacLeod made his case as one of Proving Ground's top talents, absolutely dominant over a veteran talent in Rilantha De Nav. This one never quite seemed in doubt, and now Ril has to figure out what's going on. Two sets of twins squared off here, and the slightly more experienced team would win out, though this one was a tough fight to the finish. Rafael would bring it to an end with a quick Superkick out of the blue, but the Yoshidas were in this one to the bitter end. Christina's raw power very nearly carried her to a victory here... at one point coming clear across the ring to slam a vicious elbow into Mercedes Ortega's face. But Mercedes fought back, eventually landing a huge slam to score the win, and perhaps put herself up as a potential Inspire Championship contender. Whether AAA wanted it or not, Gary Gear accompanied him to the ring... and Sanya seemed to know it'd happen that way, so he brought his partner from his Friday appearance in Wacker Drive. Even so, Gear injected himself into this one a few times... to no avail in the end, as Sanya would land a crushing senton off the top rope to score the victory. And now his ire may be turning towards Gear next... The Blades continue to prove themselves as perhaps the premiere tag team on Proving Ground short of the reigning champions. This was a match that displayed their incredible teamwork, Donna's technique, and Nicole's power... but a cross-arm suplex from Donna would be the decisive move over the Tachibana duo, and the Blades may be looking for their shot at La Familia sooner rather than later. Once again, Titania appears to have underestimated an opponent... and paid for it. Anna Bryant, sporting new attire and seemingly a more focused attitude, held her own here, and even after Titania brought her raw power into play, Anna held strong, responding with quick technical maneuvers, and eventually countered into a sharp German suplex that scored her a sudden victory. Riccardo's Proving Ground debut was just as impressive as every other match we've seen from him. Akira Ryusaki, however, was on top of his game tonight, and pulled out nearly everything in his arsenal to make sure that the newcomer would get a harsh welcome to the show... finishing things off with an enormous avalanche powerbomb, coming away with a truly impressive win. Winter Fresh came up just a bit short tonight, as the Wrights were absolutely on fire the entire match. Both managed to get the Triangle Scorpion locked in at one point or another, Arthur landed a brutal Screwdriver, and in the end, Amber dished out a quick moonsault to finish the job, Rin a step too slow to break up the pin. This was as good a main event as you could hope for: two high-flyers at the top of their game squaring off. Jessika eventually tried to ground the match, focusing on her bow and arrow submission and the Dynamite Cutter, but Calista wouldn't be slowed... while she never broke out the Stormbreaker, she was still relentless, eventually going big with a diving crossbody, and when that didn't get the job done, delivered a spinning frog splash to finally score the three-count and bring the show to a wild end. For the moment, I'm not sure what the title situations are looking like: recall that our current champions are Victor Kintelas (Top Prospect), Fresh Suzuki (Inspire), and La Familia (Chico/Rey, Tag titles). I'll figure out a plan for that very soon, but first...

Ladies and gentlemen, we've got ourselves a new fed starting up... straight out of the heart of Houston, Texas, owned and operated by none other than the Marshall family. American Frontier Wrestling is due to start up in about a week and a half... Thursday, November 12. And it's got a damn big show to kick things off, too, a card that'll go up after next week's Showdown concludes. You're gonna see something a bit different on that Showdown card, because for the first time in quite a long time, there won't be a Pacific Northwest Championship defense... because Phoenix Rising has allowed it to move to this show instead, seeing as Lance is the next man in line for that belt. So what's the roster for this fed, anyway? Some of the best of the best, not just from Texas but all around the South, most of which will be making AFW their new permanent home. Let's take a quick rundown. Lance Marshall Cassandra Marshall Terra Marshall Sung Moon Diosa Syringa Carmen Latour Ian Robinson Maya Minh Sai Ryan Donovan Riley Montgomery Jackson Shaw Mason Hayes Dominic Stanton Allison Avery Nathan Haines
Johnny Rocket Wanted: DOA (Kass the Stampede/Blanche Wesson-Smith) Georgia EaglesThe only members of this roster that'll continue to work on multiple shows: Lance and Cassandra, who will continue to run on Showdown (especially seeing as they're still the reigning Tag Team Champions), and Diosa Syringa, who will continue to work with the Academy (even if she wasn't a current champion, she'd stick around, no doubt about it.) We also might eventually see Terra branch out to Phoenix Rising, but that's being held off for the time being.
At any rate, this is what's been brewing for a good while... it'll happen once a month, replacing one of the usual Evergreen slots. Don't miss this debut, it's gonna be a hell of a ride.
