The OG-Joshi alumni are having a profound influence on my plans with their enthusiasm! I'm gonna give some thought to at least a part-time OG-J project so I think we can manage something more than I had initially planned. I was already planning on taking a few months after "ALL YOUR BASE" to sketch out the next UBL tour (especially given how different it's going to be from this past one). I think maybe we can start OG-J running too, especially since so many of you already have OG-J ready edits in FPW. Running UBL has been very time consuming (but rewarding) so I have to figure out a way to keep UBL running while adding OG-J and I think it will require either a totally new approach or just having OG-J run 1 or 2 big shows with RP's keeping things going in the background. Maybe I'll reach out to some more alum as well (DK and Moto) and gauge interest from them 😎 Lina and Shannon would be totally down to be on a revived OG-J show. 100% signed 😎
Lina would absolutely have high card status too after all this time and her OG-J history.
I wonder how the Hellions would react to Lina/Shannon given how each pair has an alliance with Saji.
And since Hae-Won is Saji's girl 😎
Well Gutter would definitely be up for an appearance, though she's off-camera running WMD so touring may not be viable.
Kathy Queen would also be interested, with Holly being a (IC and OOC) influence on her (even the TPE storyline is partially based off the infamous indecent proposal)
And if you're looking to build a tag team division, Reinas De La Calles, Ximena Valentina and Bianca Espada are probably my best tag specialists I've ever made.
I'm thinking Gutter could play an occasional backstage role when she's able to: helping Jean out with personal security and talent relations. Since all shows will run from Peter Venkman, Gutter could hop over for some of the bigger shows to help Jean out and maybe do a match if she wants to 😎
Kathy Queen would be perfect for a renewed OG-J and we have to get her in the same ring as Robin at least for a promo. I'm not sure when Geese will be in his right mind to join her opposite William King with Kathy but that would also be awesome. And LOL at the indecent proposal story!! 😊
OG-J at its best had an incredible tag division so I would definitely want to sign your teams!
I can't think of too many classic OG-J teams that would return.
Definitely the Hellions. Maybe the Reeds. Did you ever remake Team Chuu Chuu?
Also, on that note, do you have any teams for UBL that you'd recommend? Mid-carders are fine too. I'm trying to recruit more teams for that too. I have big plans for the top feud for the Battalion Title but I need more teams for future contenders and just to have tag matches that can occur without throwing singles wrestlers together. |

Tag teams for UBL... hm. That'd be hard to pick just one. Depends on what you're looking for. Juniors, Plane Shift (Spider Jack and Murder Dragon) or SOUND X FURY (SONIC Oto and BURNING Ikari); Powerhouses, Kings of the North (Armo Halla and Hjalmar Susi) or Tag Team From Hell (Azaziel and Ulyaoth). A Freebirds style unit could be Johnny Morbid and The Aristocrats (Johnny Morbid, Buzzy Bluedog and Moist). And for rookies, any of the DRAGONSUPLEX Dojo guys as a team would work though I'd choose Ryan 0 and Matthew Turtle as they'd bring the most variety to the roster.
Plane Shift are probably my best all-male tag team as far as chemistry and quality, though.
As far as Team Chuu Chuu, nah I haven't remade them. I've been planning on remaking some folks but TCC have probably either moved on from the business or became more serious.

Shoot, I haven't heard from DK in forever. Do they have FPW versions of their edits out there? Also, I gotta admit that I was always slightly sad there was never a Lina/Gutter program in OG-J, though they did tag that one time. |

I just emailed DK and DM's Moto on Twitter. I have all their OG-J edits from FPR in FPW but in converted, uncolored FPR template form. Lina/Gutter would have been an incredible program, especially if we had been able to continue OG-J into the story where Lina and Eris joined together. I could see a heel Lina eventually crossing paths with Gutter. I really hate that I had to end OG-J when I did because that Lina/Eris angle was absolute fire 🔥

I kinda figured you didn't make Chuu Chuu but held out hope, haha. Did you ever remake Team Moon Gas?
As for UBL tag teams, I would go based on your recommendation of who you think works the best together. So Plane Shift sounds good. Are the other teams you mentioned up on the Workshop? It would be good to have one high ranked team and one lower ranked rookie team (Ryan/Turtle would work) that can slow burn up the ladder.
I'm VERY happy to sign or feature your DRAGONSUPLEX Dojo guys in singles or tag competition 😎 DS Dojo is basically what I had wanted to do with Basic Training but you conceived of it and executed it 1000X better.

Ahh, okay. So you can let me know if you want to send any DS Dojo guys to the UBL when they are ready. And I'll check out your teams on the Workshop and see who I feel would fit thematically but I'm gonna take your advice about Plane Shift being the top choice due to their chemistry and your confidence in them. Two things: 1) The first OG-Joshi RP in what feels like forever: "The Eight-Year Itch". 2) Last week I was a little off on my history. Turns out, the reality was even cooler. I said: So like...the timing of your comment couldn't have been more awesome! 😲 Last night I spent a significant amount of time reading the RP's from the end of the first UBL run in late 2011. I stumbled upon these two RP's: One from me with Jean/Luke and one from you with Gutter.Check the dates: November 4, 2011. 8 years ago. It's like Jean was reminiscing with Gutter today 😃 So while I did post "Coaches and Quests" on November 4th, 2011 - the events were canonically set as happening on October 27th, 2011. This was the night of the "Orochi Geese Funeral Show." Eight years (and a few hours) later, I posted the Debased Event without even realizing it was the anniversary of the Funeral show!! The Funeral Show was the formal announcement of Geese selling OG-Joshi to Ruby Moreno. Eight years later, Robin won it back. Earlier today I was planning on posting Jean and Luke's promo tonight. But once I realized the significance of the dates, I canonically set the promo back to October 27th, the night of the Debased Event. Full-circle in eight years and it wasn't even (fully) planned like that. Wow 😲 The RNG of life deserves applause 👏 |
