I post this here from a suggestion to do so from a couple of members. Please could I get some help to set this in game - I must be thick. I went through the tutorial and tried numerous times, 17 ish actually tweaking the code
but I'm obviously doing something wrong.
I'm not sure what to do about the japanese names for one thing. I tried to build to a base layer and a non base layer. I do have allow custom parts on in the mod (!), and some others mod parts show up, others don't which is odd, but maybe irrelevant.
Basically I'd like to see how this turns out in game as a test. Maybe if it looks alright I could do more likenesses, and take time to stylise them a bit more toward the original look..
Please, could somebody get this working and share the parts info, so I could get a look at a correctly set up one. I might be able to figure it out from there

He can probably confirm but I believe Oni had said he was having issues with adding heads as well so he added them as a face part instead

Yep, I could not get a base part added without causing my edit mode to go wonky. And I kind of wonder how I would since all the other custom parts are looking for 7 bases (S/M/L/D/Female/Bodybuilder/Bear). But you could totally put it out as a face part and add it over one of the faces that's almost invisible, like the under-mask ones. I actually did that with a couple of my masks at first, just to make sure they would line up for others the way they were working for me (I've since decided that was unnecessary).
I can try to export it for you tonight and post a parts info txt. If you're not worried about supporting Japanese users or sorting your parts, you can basically take any working face entry and copy over with the same numbers. I think I messed up early on and confused the parts category with the name. I ended up just repeating the name in 3 places - and it still works just fine. I'll try to take a look at it tonight - having a friggin' colonoscopy tomorrow at 6:30 a.m. so it's a weird week for me.

I don't know japanese so not sure if I can do something about that one, however I would if possible like to sort the parts properly.
I've been testing things out and so far here's a few heads trying to bring them in line with the game art, a little
Bret, Shawn and - Terminator? Why not.

Thanks, I don't expect the heads to go in perfectly, the shape will need to be tweaked to accomodate hairstyles for sure. Why I designed vinces hair and baked it on.
But then heads aren't necessary really anyway. So if I can work out how to get things in selective cropping will do to use these faces on top the existing heads, I hope.. Cutting out one more problem.
This is fairly labour intensive, but I've had fun doing it so far.

I gave it a try using the PNG posted. It worked fine when I did it as a main part. Here's what I used as the part list entry...

And here's how it looks in game... That said, curiously, it did NOT work the few times I tried to do it as a base part. The first time, I used a similar file name, just changing the initial m to a b, and used a base part part list entry and modified it as necessary. I got the following error... Then, I tried renaming the png to a 4 number string, (9999,) and it didn't show up at all. But I should mention that I actually haven't tried to make any base parts before, so maybe it was a mistake on my part in both cases. Maybe someone who has made base parts can give it a try and get a better result. The working tex file for Vince's face as a main part is here... Vince Main texIt looks a little large in game, but you can easily fix that with the percentages.

I will look at the txt soon. Did you by any chance start a game and see how the transitions were. I thought I had built it off a regular head, but if it's a little large still maybe it was a giant head. I used face 14-2 as the base.
