Third Time's the Charm for the Sugar Rays By Bert Randolph Sugar
What's in a name? That which we call a Sugar Ray is a perfectly balanced blend of pugilistic pleasure. Tactical brilliance, combinations that fire like the Thompson guns of the old gangsters, footwork to dazzle the likes of Fred Astaire and fundamentals that even the most jaded old sages would approve of. Robinson and Leonard have met twice now in this current time, and both times were a delight. Ray Robinson was victorious in the first meeting, while Ray Leonard not only defeated his counterpart, but took the Middleweight title in the process. Now the two fight, with the belt on the line.
With this happening, there are still many fights to anticipate. Young George Foreman, as we have grown to call him, defeated his elder variation, and now looks to take on fellow trauma inducing nightmare of the ring, Sonny Liston, with the winner gaining the delightful prize of a fight with the Brown Bomber, Joe Louis. In a meeting of men better equipped to give than to take, Earnie Shavers and Frank Herald will go to battle. And before that, Stanley Ketchel and Matthew Saad Muhammad will demonstrate that hitting hard does not mean you cannot take even the toughest punches. Finally, a Lightweight fight between Aaron Pryor and Pernell Whitaker will pit the speed and attack of Pryor against the spectacular defense of Whitaker in a fight that defies prediction.
All Time Boxing #7: Sugar Ray vs. Sugar Ray III To be seen in our timeline on Friday, April 19 following ZIP Japan

The road to success is a difficult one. Without inherent talent, without being able to grasp opportunities when they arise, without the blood and the sweat and the long hours in the gym, the dues paid along the way, the road to success is not possible without these things. For one man, a career spent apprenticing under one's elders, fighting not for the top prize, but to be noticed on the undercard, being seen as past one's prime, and yet, jumping when the chance was there, each and every time, until the road to success could lead to the top. For another, it was not enough to be seen as the greatest of the lighter division. It was not enough to be a sure fire hall of famer. It was not enough simply to be the best performer of two eras. No, for this one, nothing less than the very top of the world would suffice. For this one, the road to success may well lead to this point. Two men who have earned their respect along their path, for these two men, the road to success will be their WrestleQuest, for Mr. Suplex, will the veteran secure his status as the best in the business? Or will Justin Starr leap up from the Junior Heavyweight division to become the best of the Heavyweights? For these two men, WrestleQuest is not just the path, but the destination. Be there on the ZIP Channel at www.twitch.tv/therealdenizen at 8:00 PM on Friday, April 19. --- Following the unprecedented grandiosity of ZIP Japan WrestleQuest, jump forward to the future of Boxing history as All Time Boxing presents ATB #7: Sugar Ray vs. Sugar Ray III pits Ray Robinson against Ray Leonard in the rubber match for the ATB Middleweight title and much more!

RESULTS All Time Boxing #7: Sugar Ray vs. Sugar Ray III To be seen in our timeline on Friday, April 19 following ZIP Japan All Time Boxing Middleweight Title Bout Sugar Ray Robinson(C) vs. Sugar Ray Leonard This fight may have been painful to endure for fans of Ray Robinson, for five long rounds, Sugar Ray Leonard punished his foe, his superior footwork keeping the fight at his preferred distance, and repeatedly dropping him in the later rounds. Ray Leonard didn't just win this fight, but toyed with Robinson and made a clear statement. Heavyweight #1 Contenders Bout Young George Foreman vs. Sonny Liston Liston fought well, but the undisputed power of Young George was just too much for him here. Heavyweight Earnie Shavers vs. Frank Herald A surprising victory by Herald, who caught Shavers with a big blast in the second round. Middleweight Matthew Saad Muhammad vs. Stanley Ketchel One of the best fights of the night, with both men throwing bombs, but Saad Muhammad just managed to outdo the Michigan Assassin and held on to win this outright brawl. Lightweight Aaron Pryor vs. Pernell Whitaker Sweet Pea kept this one mostly in control en route to a comfortable fifth round victory.

Once More, Unto the Breach By Bert Randolph Sugar
In Shakespeare's historical play, Henry V, the King of England has besieged his French opposition and tells them to either break through the walls or litter them with the English dead in trying. This display of fighting spirit could be familiar to some of the most red blooded pugilists in boxing history. For a select few, it is not simply the financial reward, or the glory of the crowd, but the unending urge to beat one's rival in bloody combat.
Now, three legendary trilogies will gain a fourth stanza, as Ali and Frazier, Morales and Barrera and Ward and Gatti all seek to settle their score, all now in their physical and mental prime. These men were responsible for nine of the most thrilling fights in history, and we will see them do battle once again in this age of wonders. Ali will be looking to come back after he was upset in the Heavyweight tournament, and Frazier has no love lost for his longtime adversary, even now. And there are more fights to this card. Two of the ultimate underdog winners square off with Andy Ruiz Jr. taking on James "Buster" Douglas in a Heavyweight showdown and the George Godfrey of the late 1800s will fight the George Godfrey who took his name in the 1920s.
All Time Boxing #8: Round Four To be seen in our timeline on Friday, June 7th at 8:00 PM (CT)
Heavyweight Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier
Lightweight Arturo "Thunder" Gatti vs. "Irish" Micky Ward
Lightweight Marco Antonio Barrera vs. Erik Morales

RESULTS All Time Boxing #8: Round Four To be seen in our timeline on Friday, June 7th at 8:00 PM (CT) Heavyweight Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier The Greatest got back on track with a win over his rival, managing to make Frazier miss enough to land his own right hand. Lightweight Arturo "Thunder" Gatti vs. "Irish" Micky Ward Easily the best fight of the card, with no quarter asked, none given, and Gatti eventually emerging victorious, but not without a major effort. Lightweight Marco Antonio Barrera vs. Erik Morales Barrera was never really in this fight, with Morales dropping him at will with precise counter punching. Heavyweight Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Buster Douglas Ruiz Jr. gave a valiant effort, but Douglas was on top of his game in this one. Heavyweight George Godfrey vs. George Godfrey (II) A third round victory for Godfrey II, with his size and power difference overcoming the speed of the Original Godfrey.

Ruminations of an Ancient Fossil By Bert Randolph Sugar
As I understand it, people in this time do not go to the motion pictures as they did in my time. Just as they receive the broadcasts of All Time Boxing in their heads, they can experience the fictional presentations of this era in a similar fashion and are able to see the events play out from a fixed "audience" perspective or from the eyes of a character in the piece. I say this, because I feel very much like a character from a motion picture of my time, Jurassic Park. In Jurassic Park, a scientist finds a way to bring back long-extinct species into the present world. While you, the dear reader, most certainly can see the connections between the Smithsonian Society's project and that of the Jurassic Park, that is not the point. No, my point is that I have never felt more out of place, like a modern day dinosaur, than I did when I sat down to write this piece. For as it stands, the ninth All Time Boxing event is dedicated to the application of the sweet science by the fairer sex. And that goes further towards making me feel like a man out of his time more than any of the technology I have encountered.
But as distasteful and bereft of subtle skill as I have found women's boxing to have been in the past, I cannot say that the four ladies in this tournament are lacking in skill or physical ability. Ann Wolfe was considered one of the best punchers of her time, and even trained legit males in the sport. Her opponent, Claressa Shields brings Olympic pedigree and an unbeaten record in return. The other matchup is equally compelling with Lucia Rijker, champion kickboxer turned champion boxer up against Cecilia Braekhus, unbeaten, unified Welterweight champ in her era. I may not be a fan of the ladies putting the gloves on, but if they must, these four will do honor to the sport. In addition to the tournament, we have a battle of the eccentrics with the Cosmic Puncher, Lou Nova looking to strike gold as he takes on the man known as Klondike in a Heavyweight battle. In addition, two powerful punchers meet at Middleweight with Julian Jackson bringing his fearsome firepower to bear against the Hurricane, Rubin Carter.

All Time Boxing #9: Ladies Night To be seen on our timeline on Friday, July 12, Following ZIP Japan
All Time Boxing Women's Championship Winner of Rijker vs. Braekhus against the winner of Wolfe vs. Shields
Heavyweight Lou Nova vs. Klondike

I just noticed that I had booked Pernell Whitaker just a few months ago, winning his fight, of course. Easily one of my all time favorites, a pure artist between the ropes. --- RESULTS All Time Boxing #9: Ladies Night To be seen on our timeline on Friday, July 12, Following ZIP Japan All Time Boxing Women's Championship Cecilia Braekhus vs. Ann Wolfe Braekhus was simply on another level this night, and showed it again in the main event to take the title at the end of the third round. Heavyweight Lou Nova vs. Klondike Lou Nova's Cosmic Punch was well aligned this time, and held off Klondike's forward moving pressure. Middleweight Julian "The Hawk" Jackson vs. Rubin "Hurricane" Carter The Hurricane was never really in it here, with Jackson's concussive punches landing cleanly. All Time Boxing Women's Championship Tournament Ann Wolfe vs. Claressa Shields Strong showing for Wolfe, who just had too much power for Shields to handle. All Time Boxing Women's Championship Tournament Cecilia Braekhus vs. Lucia Rijker It took four rounds, but Braekhus was able to out box Rijker soundly to advance.

A Proper Anniversary By Bert Randolph Sugar
Anniversaries are a peculiar invention of mankind. We place value upon the repetition of numerical series, or the return of a certain date on the calendar. One might question such traditions, but doing so will only lead to bad things for a man. I know, I once forgot the anniversary of my wedding. I slept on the couch that night. In any case, All Time Boxing will reach its tenth show on this upcoming Friday, a milestone that amazes me all the further when I contemplate the circumstances that have brought so many fistic legends, and myself here to this nigh-utopian age.
It is no surprise that All Time Boxing will present one of its most interesting cards to date, with two title matches and a tournament of exciting prospects. Sugar Ray Leonard will defend his Middleweight title against the reckless, underhanded, but undeniably skilled Kid McCoy. Leonard's speed will be sorely put to the test against McCoy's tactics and superior size. In the Women's division, Cecilia Braekhus will put her title up for grabs with Ireland's Katie Taylor looking to snatch it away.
Before speaking of the Wildcard Tournament, it would be unprofessional if I were not to explain what its purpose is for. As it is, All Time Boxing is preparing for a sixteen man tournament testing the last heavyweights it was able to procure from the past. For the last spot on this tournament, four prospects of the era will face off. Croatia's Filip Hrgovic, Nigeria's Efe Ajagba, England's Daniel Dubois and Ukraine's Vladyslav Sirenko will all face off for a chance to enter into the Super Sixteen. Furthermore, the winner of the Super Sixteen Heavyweight Tournament will earn the right to face the great Brown Bomber himself, Joe Louis, for his All Time Boxing Heavyweight Championship. With the plethora of heavyweights the Smithsonian Society has brought into this time, this sort of an opportunity can be seen as a lottery ticket to the top, if you will.

RESULTS All Time Boxing #10 To be seen on our timeline on Friday, September 27 at 8:00 PM (CT) All Time Boxing 2010s Wildcard Tournament Finals Filip Hrgovic vs. Vladyslav Sirenko Sirenko acquitted himself well in this bout, but Filip Hrgovic was not to be denied and after a fourth round victory, will go on to compete in the Super Sixteen. All Time Boxing Lightweight Championship Sugar Ray Leonard(C) vs. Kid McCoy By far the best fight of the night, with Kid McCoy looking the better man in the early going, but one knows that Ray Leonard can never be counted out, and he proved that knowledge once again by etching out a fifth round comeback to retain his Middleweight championship. All Time Boxing Women's Championship Cecilia Braekhus(C) vs. Katie Taylor A back and forth brawl, Taylor proving better on the inside, and that was her path to victory, eventually earning the title in round four. All Time Boxing 2010s Wildcard Tournament Semi Final Filip Hrgovic vs. Efe Ajagba A solid victory for Hrgovic, who barely let this fight into the third round. All Time Boxing 2010s Wildcard Tournament Semi Final Daniel Dubois vs. Vladyslav Sirenko A slight upset, with Sirenko overcoming the power of Dubois.

The Challengers to the Throne By Nat Fleischer
Joe Louis is the undisputed king of the Heavyweights. This is a concrete fact, proven through the Brown Bomber's success in this remarkable time, defeating all that have tried his studied fists. Now, however, sixteen men will try their hand at becoming the next challenge, by entering the Super Sixteen Tournament. All of these athletes hail from the second decade into the twenty first century, this being the latest point in time the Smithsonian Society's miracle machine could draw upon. The winner of this tournament of dreams will earn a chance at Louis and his prized championship at a future All Time Boxing event.
As a capstone to this two night event, All Time Boxing Lightweight champion, Manny Pacquiao must summon all of his speed and ability as he takes on a title defense against one of the craftiest, roughest competitors ever to fight at Featherweight and Super Featherweight, Sandy Saddler.

Results are in for Night One of the Super Sixteen, including an upset so fast you'll have to look twice to believe it. Night Two will air tonight at 8:00 PM CT at the customary time on the Senatorial Streaming Service, with the conclusion of the Super Sixteen Heavyweight Tournament and a title bout between Manny Pacquiao and Sandy Saddler. RESULTS All Time Boxing #11: The Super Sixteen Tournament - Night OneTo be seen on our timeline on Thursday, November 7 at 8:00 PM (CT) Fight #1 (1) Deontay Wilder vs. (16) Filip Hrgovic Hrgovic looked solid in the first round, fighting with polished technique, but Wilder's power manifested itself in the second with a harsh knockout. Fight #2 (8) Dillian Whyte vs. (9) Oleksandr Usyk A similar tale to the first fight, with Whyte overcoming Usyk's skills to put him down in the second. Fight #3 (3) Tyson Fury vs. (14) Murat Gassiev An otherworldly moment, was all this fight could be described as. Tyson Fury may well have overlooked Murat Gassiev, the former Cruiserweight, but a twenty two second knockout courtesy of a Gassiev hook ended the fight faster than fans could blink. Likely the biggest upset in ATB history, and assuredly the biggest of the Super Sixteen. Fight #4 (7) Kubrat Pulev vs. (10) Joseph Parker After the fireworks of the earlier bouts, some actual competitive fights started with this one. Pulev was the aggressor here, with Parker fighting off his back foot for much of this one, but his tactics paid dividends by the middle of the fourth round, beating Pulev by attrititon. Fight #5 (2) Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. (15) Adam Kownacki The handspeed of Ruiz was the difference maker here, with Kownacki proving his bravery, but Ruiz walking away with a third round win. Fight #6 (6) Luis Ortiz vs. (11) Dereck Chisora Chisora and Ortiz put on another quality fight, with Ortiz trying to set traps and catch the aggressor coming in. However, with Dereck Chisora, such a strategy can be disasterous if not perfectly executed and the Zimbabwean resident of London caught up with Ortiz and closed things out at the end of the third. Fight #7 (4) Anthony Joshua vs. (13) Jarrell Miller A fight that was supposed to happen in our timeline, was delayed centuries ahead, but the expected result was as originally expected, with Joshua surviving Miller's pressure and making it through a few tense exchanges to come away with a third round win. Fight #8 (5) Alexander Povetkin vs. (12) Oscar Rivas The final bout of the round of sixteen ended strong with Povetkin and Rivas waging a back and forth battle, and while Povetkin looked close to pulling ahead at point, Rivas's tenacity kept him in it long enough to score a fourth round victory.
