Middleweight Tournament Finalized By Nat Fleischer
The All-Time Boxing project may have been on hiatus, but it now emerges from hibernation with a promising announcement. Similar to the previous All Time Boxing event, which featured a Lightweight Championship tournament, we now witness a contest for the Middleweight title. This includes the potential for a rematch between the two men known as Sugar Ray, giving Ray Leonard a chance to erase his previous defeat with a title victory. We will also see a Heavyweight slugfest between George Foreman and Deontay Wilder as well as a Lightweight tussle between the technical master Vasyl Lomachenko and the vicious Sandy Saddler.
All Time Boxing #3 - Middleweight Gold Date: TBD
Main Event: All Time Boxing Middleweight Championship Winner of Greb/Leonard vs. Winner of Robinson/Mendoza
Heavyweight George Foreman(Silver) vs. Deontay Wilder(Evolved)
Lightweight Vasyl Lomachenko(Evolved) vs. Sandy Saddler(Golden)
Lightweight Tournament Harry Greb(Golden) vs. Sugar Ray Leonard(Evolved)
Lightweight Tournament Sugar Ray Robinson(Golden) vs. Daniel Mendoza(Pioneer)

All-Time Boxing #3 is tentatively set for Friday, January 18 at 8:00 PM CT, with a Middleweight title tournament along with Lomachenko vs Saddler and Foreman vs Wilder in what promises to be a fast, furious event.

Press Releases for ATB #3
Harry Greb: I ain't give a damn who they line up against me, Robinson, Leonard, Mendoza, they're all real tough, but they don't got what I have. Leonard's a real boxer, but I beat Tunney, and he's bigger and stronger. Robinson and Mendoza, we'll see when I get to one of them.
Sugar Ray Leonard: Harry Greb came from a different time, and he thinks that because he fought the light heavyweights and the heavyweights that he has an edge over me. But he didn't fight Tommy Hearns, he didn't fight Roberto, he didn't fight Hagler. I beat some greats, too. And I know people are talking about me fighting Ray Robinson again, but I'm just taking this one fight at a time.
Sugar Ray Robinson: I hear people say that the Middleweight title is mine to take. I already beat Ray Leonard, but I know too well that rematches provide a different challenge. First, I have to face Mendoza. He comes from a time that I hardly recognize, but he has to be tough and smart. I know I'm not fighting bums out here. Anyone can lose on the right night if they're not properly prepared. And I will be ready to beat everybody who I have to beat to win this tournament.
Daniel Mendoza: It is my intention to enter this endeavor with the purpose of proving the true science of boxing was as well-developed in my pugilistic years as it has become in the time that followed. May I not become too boastful in my desire to disprove the skepticism which naturally is directed upon my times and person. To see the fruits of one's scholarship, and to test them in such a visceral manner is a rarefied experience.

All Time Boxing #3: Middleweight Gold Results Main Event: All Time Boxing Middleweight Championship Sugar Ray Leonard vs. Daniel Mendoza The final fight of the tournament was the best of the night, as Sugar Ray Leonard managed to outlast Mendoza over the course of seven rounds. Heavyweight George Foreman(Silver) vs. Deontay Wilder(Evolved) This was a tale of two rounds. In the first, Big George pressured Wilder and dropped him with multiple clean power shots. But the second round came with a comeback from the Bronze Bomber, who put Foreman down for the count. Lightweight Vasyl Lomachenko(Evolved) vs. Sandy Saddler(Golden) Saddler's power posed a threat to the Ukranian, but Hi-Tech Lomachenko was able to neutralize it over the course of five rounds en route to victory. Lightweight Tournament Harry Greb(Golden) vs. Sugar Ray Leonard(Evolved) Harry Greb fought with his typical toughness and heavy pressure, but Sugar Ray Leonard was able to keep him at distance and landed a brutal hook to score a walk away knockout. Lightweight Tournament Sugar Ray Robinson(Golden) vs. Daniel Mendoza(Pioneer) A massive upset in the first round of the tournament, as Mendoza played his gameplan out to perfection, and defeated Robinson by a controversial TKO. Word has it that SRR was infuriated with referee Joe Cortez after the stoppage and protested the call to ATB management.

Twenty Years Brought Together: Young Meets Old By Nat Fleischer
The contemporary inhabitants of this time period take their wondrous marvels for granted. Just as those of my era would see the internal combustion engine and germ theory as part of the fabric of civilization, the people of today look at the accomplishments of the Smithsonian Society as mere developments of the time. So forgive my child-like sense of marvel as I witness the meeting between youth and middle age as George Foreman speaks with himself. I have transcribed some of their dialog, using the reductive terms of “Old George” and “Young George” to differentiate between the two.
Old George Foreman: Hello, young man. I understand that you did not do so well in your last fight out there. I might have some advice for you, George.
Young George Foreman: Do I know you?
Old George: Hah, I think you might, but not as well as you should!
Young George: You going to introduce yourself, or are we going to keep talking jive?
Old George: You remind me of my children…you have the same name, after all. But as strange as it may sound, I’m you. I’m you from twenty years down the line. Look, I don’t get this any more than you do!
Young George: Man, my head hurts. If you’re the old version of me…you sure got fat…and bald. That’s what I have to look forward to?
Old George: There’s a reason I’m here, too. We both did great things. I’m sure you looked up your story. I’m the man who won your title back. Well, I suppose you’re that man too, just not yet.
Young George: I...
Old George: Don’t worry, I’m just going to give you a little advice. You burnt yourself out in the first round against that Wilder kid. Wish I still had your speed and stamina. But you need to clear your head and just get back to it. Don’t live the wild life, don’t ever give up on yourself. Not in the fight, not out of it. Know that you can be who you choose to be. And always stick to the plan in the ring, don’t go trying to knock everyone out as quick as possible, if it happens, it happens, but you don’t need to do that every time to prove yourself.
Young George: You think they’ll have us fight, old man?
Old George: You never know, if we do, we don’t leave any regrets behind.
Young George: Just have one more thing to ask.
Old George: Sure, go ahead.
Young George: That grill thing. Made me rich, doesn’t it? You have one here?
Old George: Haha! You know, that was the first thing I had them make me here. Just ask! They’ll make you your own George Foreman Grill here, too!

Heavyweight Title Finally to Find a Home By Bert Sugar
The original idea for the All Time Boxing project was to produce a heavyweight champion through a tournament. And like the architect who endeavored to create an impossible building, but settled instead for the one he could achieve, we now have a tournament to determine the All Time Boxing Heavyweight title. But instead of an unwieldy, magnificent thirty-two man spectacle, we will instead witness a battle between four of the best in history. Muhammad Ali, Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis and Lennox Lewis have been whittled down as the four representatives of their respective camps, and will be matched up in the proceedings. I will withhold my personal opinions of their respective greatness, but whoever is able to prevail in this cannot be denied his rightful place. In addition, the great and rediscovered Nonpareil Dempsey fights a well rounded but relatively untested Terence Crawford and the deceptively overwhelming power of Thomas Hearns will be matched with the always-avoided, always-elusive Charley Burley.

Muhammad Ali Press Release for ATB #4
(Note: Ali scheduled his own press statement to take place a day ahead of Dempsey, Louis and Lewis, and it was no surprise that it drew a sizable crowd, both in person and on Neural Broadcast)
Muhammad Ali: What I am here to tell you, what I am here to tell all of you is that this tournament is nothing but a formality. You see, this is not going to prove who the Greatest is, because I have already done that in my own time! I’m the Greatest! The Greatest of All Time! Of all the times! So when I look at this tournament, I don’t see an opportunity to prove anything here! I just consider this a chance to educate all the people out there who haven’t seen what I can do. That’s right, I’m going to educate the public on what greatness truly looks like. Nobody before me or after me did what I did.
Ali: My opponents, I look at Louis and Lewis, and I see two men just don’t have the speed that they need to succeed. I’m too pretty to get hit by them! Louis moves like he stepped in wet cement! Lewis, I don’t know, but from what I’ve seen, he’s far too slow. And Dempsey, Manasseh Mauler, I’m calling it now, he’s gonna hit the floor in four. Dempsey’s hitting the floor in round four!

Results --- All Time Boxing #4: Heavyweight Gold Main Event: All Time Boxing Heavyweight Championship Jack Dempsey vs. Joe Louis The Brown Bomber had a point to make, and he punctuated it with brutal punches from every angle, overwhelming Dempsey en route to a dominating victory in claiming the ATB Heavyweight title. Middleweight Thomas Hearns(Evolved) vs. Charley Burley(Golden) A slow fight to develop, thanks to Burley's spoiler tactics, but as the fight went on, his seemingly cautious approach paid dividends, having worn the Hitman out well enough to finish him by round twelve. Lightweight Terence "Bud" Crawford(Evolved) vs. Nonpareil Jack Dempsey(Pioneer) Nonpareil Dempsey lived up to his nickname, keeping Crawford at arm's length for the duration of this fight and outclassing him at range. Heavyweight Tournament Joe Louis(Golden) vs. Lennox Lewis(Evolved) Valiant effort from the English Lion, but Louis simply outgunned his foe through this fight. Heavyweight Tournament Muhammad Ali(Silver) vs. Jack Dempsey(Pioneer) An astounding upset opened up the proceedings, with Dempsey coming back from behind to defeat the Greatest with several huge combinations.

Heavyweights To Collide At All Time Boxing #5 By Bert Randolph Sugar
The Norsemen of old believed that earthquakes were the result of the god Loki shuttering as venomous poison dropped upon his head from the fang of a mighty serpent. The myths of yore might be long discarded in these days, but titans yet exist, and their pain may well again shake the globe. I may be accused of the most purple of prose and the grandest hyperbole, but how else does one describe a sporting event that features a man fighting his own self? And yet, we are less than a week away from witnessing George Foreman fighting against his older incarnation. What more could I possibly add to that line? This being a fight of special interest, has become a title eliminator.
And it is not the only one, for two of the most fearsome fighting machines ever seen by human eyes will fight for a chance to advance, with Iron Mike Tyson and Sonny Liston facing off in the second title eliminator in the penultimate fight of the event. But real boxing fans may well be awaiting the preceding match with even greater anticipation, with two class spanning title winners squaring off as Manny Pacquiao and Tony Canzoneri clash in the Lightweight division. Neither man is lacking in speed, skill or proportionate power, a tantalizing prospect of a contest if there ever was one. Two of the best Light Heavies ever also fight in the Middleweight department, the hard hitting Bob Foster seeks the chin of the slick and dangerous Michael Spinks. And opening up the card, two raw boned roughnecks will pull out all the stops with Rocky Marciano and Sailor Tom Sharkey sure to thrill the fans and spill each other’s lifeblood. Even with all the indescribable trappings of the times which I now reside within, it is hard for me to say that anything has amazed me more than seeing events such as this one.

Chaos Breaks Out at Tyson - Liston Conference By Nat Fleischer
With All Time Boxing #5 taking place on this Friday, the time has arrived for the words preceding the fisticuffs. And to the surprise of no knowledgeable man, the meeting of Sonny Liston and Mike Tyson brought a high level of drama. The two intimidators each took to the stage with the intention of outdoing the other in bravado and malice. And while the gentlemen and ladies of this era should rightfully recoil at the results, it should be remembered that this is part and parcel of the pugilistic enterprize.
Sonny Liston: All I see when I see Tyson is a shorter Floyd Patterson. You all know what I did to Patterson.
Mike Tyson: I have admiration for Sonny Liston, I really do. He was a bad man in his time. But I’m the Baddest Man on the Planet. I do everything better than he did. I learned his lessons. And I’m gonna use them.
Liston: She-eeet, I’ll run that man over like a truck. He thinks he knows me because he saw some film. But I know his type. They talk too much. But when he sees me across the ring, he’s pissing himself. Just listen to him talk. He sounds like a little girl. That little girl lisp supposed to scare me?
Tyson: Motherfucker, you’re tough, but I eat tough people like you alive. I’ll eat your children, I’ll screw your mother.
Liston: Don’t fucking talk about my mammy.
Tyson: Bitch, I’ll break her in two!
At this point, Sonny Liston stepped down from his podium and made a beeline for Mike Tyson, who was continuing to hurl invective towards his opponent. Security robots attempted to slide between the two, but a Liston left hook sent one spiraling away and another machine found itself bodily flung off the stage. Tyson continued running his mouth, even as a phalanx of the robotic guardians sealed access from between the two combatants, a terrifying fire in Liston’s visage matching the cold audacity of Tyson. Just when it seemed that the situation was neutralized, Liston again flung himself at the barricading automatons, pushing one directly into Iron Mike. Both boxers and the machine crashed to the ground with an impressive maelstrom of fury, and it took another few seconds for both men to finally separate, multiple robots using their telescopic limbs to bodily tear them apart.
---
Young George Foreman: Not sure what to think about this. But I do know that I need to win this fight.
Old George Foreman: You could call this a once in a lifetime opportunity…but I suppose you should call it a twice in a lifetime opportunity instead!
Young George: I’m not scared. He knows everything I know, aside from what’s been punched out of his head. But I’m younger and fresher.
Old George: He’s right about that, but the young man over there has to understand that I have something he’ll sorely lack for years: patience and humbleness.
Young George: What he has, I can get. What I have, he can’t get back.
Old George: Young man, you just take your best shot. And maybe you can become the best me that there ever was after this. But not this time.
Young George: Old man, you show up, and we’ll see.

RESULTS All Time Boxing #5: Foreman vs. Foreman To be seen in our timeline on Friday, March 1 at 8:00 PM (CT) Main Event: Heavyweight Title Eliminator Young George Foreman(Silver) vs. Old George Foreman(Evolved) The undisputed best fight of the night, Old George gave his younger counterpart everything he could handle, landing power shots at range and exhibiting intelligent defense. But Young George was simply too strong, too robust and survived long enough to wear down his older self en route to victory. Heavyweight Title Eliminator Mike Tyson(Evolved) vs. Sonny Liston(Silver) Liston survived some vicious flurries from Tyson to take the victory. Clearly, he was determined to avenge the insults from the presser. Lightweight Tony Canzoneri(Golden) vs. Manny Pacquiao(Evolved) An exciting fight all the way through, but Canzoneri managed to catch his foe with a perfect pivot trap into a hook for the KO. Masterful display of skill on the knockout. Middleweight Michael Spinks(Evolved) vs. Bob Foster(Silver) While Bob Foster notoriously had issues carrying his power over to Heavyweight, that was not the case here as he stopped Michael Spinks in three. Heavyweight Sailor Tom Sharkey(Pioneer) vs. Rocky Marciano(Golden) A hardfought victory for the Sailor, who clocked Marciano with an unexpected power right in the third round.

Fists Set to Fly in Lightweight Title Fight By Bert Randolph Sugar
The old saying goes that it's best to strike while the iron's hot, a phrase originated by blacksmiths who had pulled a white-hot piece of metal out of the fire, with a brief window to pound it into shape, a technique utilized by our very own blacksmith of the ring, Bob Fitzsimmons. However, it is not Ruby Robert, but Manny Pacquiao who wishes to prove his mettle and take home a finely-crafted piece of hardware. After defeating Tony Canzoneri at the last All Time Boxing event, the Pac-Man now challenges Lightweight Champion, Henry Armstrong. This is a pugilistic buffet for the most discriminating of fistic aficionados, with both men bringing power, volume, skill and heart into the ring with them. It is a shame that only one may leave with the title.
Leading up to the furiously fast Lilliputians, two fearsome Brobdingnagians will do battle with 6'7 Jess Willard clashing with 6'6 Primo Carnera, two super heavyweights who may not have the skills of their smaller counterparts, but make up for it with sheer bulk and presence. In addition, we have Mexico's own ginger haired gladiator, Canelo Alvarez answering the call of the Toy Bulldog, Mickey Walker, a fight that will not be as easily left to the cards as many of Alvarez did in his time, a Battle of Britain between the titanic towers of punching power, Lennox Lewis and Anthony Joshua, and a special bout between two ladies who might beguile the fans at first glance, but make no mistake, Laila Ali carries her father's lineage, and Cecilia Braekhus could well make up for her size difference with her skill.

Results All Time Boxing #6: Armstrong vs. Pacquiao Main Event: All Time Boxing Lightweight Championship Bout Henry Armstrong(Golden)(c) vs. Manny Pacquiao(Evolved) Both men came into this bout unflinchingly, and delivered a stunning matchup for the ATB Lightweight championship. Armstrong's swarming attack left a mark, cutting the Pac-Man open later in the fight, but that only seemed to light Pacquiao's fire, and he fought back to defeat Armstrong, becoming the second champion in Lightweight history! Heavyweight Jess Willard(Pioneer) vs. Primo Carnera(Golden) The bruisers delivered exactly what one would hope for, with Carnera's uppercut doing the most damage. Middleweight Saul "Canelo" Alvarez(Evolved) vs. Mickey Walker(Pioneer) Fight of the year? Canelo and the Toy Bulldog went at it full blast in this exciting Middleweight bout, with Walker's aggression giving him an edge, flooring Alvarez multiple times, and blasting him right at the end of the third round, with Alvarez clearly saved by the bell. But even so, Canelo took full advantage of his second chance, and came out firing in the fourth round, turning the tides and defeating Walker in a remarkable comeback. Heayvweight Lennox Lewis(Evolved) vs. Anthony Joshua(Evolved) Lewis was simply a class above in this bout, his crisp outside punching serving as the difference maker. Joshua fought gamely, but could never fully enact his own plan. Womens' Divsion Cecilia Braekhus vs. Laila Ali Braekhus seemed well on her way to a victory, outboxing Ali outright, but a big combination was all it took to turn the tide and win the bout for the She Bee. Bonus Wrestling Match Billy Robinson vs. Karl Gotch Not an official part of ATB, but the preshow wrestling bout was so good that I had to mention it here. Robinson actually stole Gotch's scoop tombstone to win the bout, but the lead up to that was tremendous, with both mat experts demonstrating their stock in trade.
