Pan African Tour #8: Cairo, Egypt Friday, October 20 2018 Bonus Match Sir Vladimir Henry with Heidi Karnstein vs. Victor Van Banning The three newest PEWA signings made a surprise appearance here, with Banning donning his desert attire and Henry calling upon the strength of the ancients with his mummified form. The two engaged in reckless brawling, until Banning countered a finishing attempt by Henry with a Righteous Finish of his own to take the three count. Main Event: Pan African Showcase Senator Steve Phillips(Senatorial Office), Jean-Pierre Mutombo, Thunder Fist(ZIP Japan) and Mr. Moonsault(Wacker Drive Revival) vs. King Bemba, Colossus Rhodes(SFW), Crusher Honda(L-Pro) and Renate Barlowe Was this a surprise? Perhaps to a few, but to most, the dominant destruction wreaked by Bemba’s team was expected. What was not, was the finishing potential of Renate Barlowe, who eliminated the bulk of her opponent’s team, including Senator Steve Phillips and putting an end to the last stand of Mr. Moonsault in the end. Chenzira Ga'dan(Independent) vs. Killer King Jones(SFW) Brutality. Sheer brutality, so fast that you’d miss if it you blinked. A thunderous Go 2 Sleep on the outside finished the Eritrean pretender in an emphatic manner with a face cracking knee. Egypt vs. The African Alliance The Dynasty(Mohammad Ramses and Nefertiri) and Layla Al-Amin(Phoenix Rising) vs. FENYANG, Esi Dogboe and Simba Mufasa(AAW) A top not match between two evenly matched teams, and while everyone had ample time to showcase their own abilities, thanks to Pan African Champion, Mohammad Ramses, the Egyptian allies managed to come out ahead in the end to the cheers of the home crowd. War for the Favor of the Ancestors TIKI(Typhoon) vs. Yetunde Oya Two fearsome women with connections outside our common perception fought in this one, and fans of the Mistfire Coven should have been quite pleased with the results, as TIKI answered mist with fire to take the victory. Fatal Four Way: First Fall Wins Professor Mark Gizenga vs. Super Parrot II(SHTCWa) vs. Dr. Whizz(Independent) vs. Jimiyu Wahu(Independent) The pace was unpredictable in this match, as all four competitors took turns showing their particular merit, but in the end, the Professor stole a pin and the victory. AFUME(Super Nova) vs. Ali Ahmed Mehrmohammdi Mehrmohammdi was wiped off the map by AFUME in this match. There was no question about it. Even when he got in a little bit of offence near the end, AFUME was just too strong, and powered through to the conclusion. A very impressive showing by the late arrival. G.P. Christopher(Lightning Pro) vs. Anawr Omar The Ronin of Destiny has claimed that he will have a good to great match with anyone he is paired off against and proved it once again against Omar. A solid opener with GPC eventually taking the victory with his new finisher, the Destiny Driver. --- Match of the Night: The Dynasty and Layla Al-Amin vs. FENYANG, Esi Dogboe and Simba Mufasa -These two teams were relatively evenly matched and this match kept the audience on its feet for the duration, everyone taking a moment to shine. The bonus match, TIKI vs Oya match and the opener all were contenders for this award, too. Performer of the Night: Renate Barlowe -Again? The Mercenary in Exile showed up in a big way once again, and while her team may have been stacked to an absurd degree, Barlowe batted cleanup and leglocked everything in sight. Injury Report -Killer King Jones: Concussion, Long Term Suspension: The hardcore veteran looks to miss the rest of the year after taking a harsh knee to the face outside of the ring courtesy of Chenzira Ga’dan. --- On a final note here, thank you, everyone who supported the Pan African Tour and contributed edits to this endeavor! I had the idea a good while back that as there were not too many originals from the continent of Africa, that I could find a way to rectify that issue, bolster my own roster, and create something fun in the process. As such, I got the idea of the Pan African Tour, booking house shows and live events alike to build a greater sense of scale. It took a good amount of time to come together, and for a bit, it seemed that I would not be able to follow through. Lots of life issues, the board migration, burnout all delayed me. But in the end, I was able to make this work, and I’m pleased with the final result. About the only thing I didn’t do that I wanted was to create an Indiana Jones style map of the tour, but that’s small change. One more time, I’d like to thank everyone who contributed outside edits to this thing, and I really think that made this tour feel like more than just a little side trip from the Office, and more of a full scale community event that just happened to happen under my banner. Denizen, Dawnbreaker, Firehawk, Roddy, Voodoo, JJB, Romantic Misery, Zealot, Will, thank you all for lending your edits to the tour, that’s ten creators all together combining for this thing!

And with that aside, it's time to head back to the States.
The PEWA has always put on an appropriate event this time of year, and this time around we have a stacked event booked in a larger venue than usual, at the newly christened Joe Frazier Memorial Arena. As such, the gimmick matches are a bit more expansive than usual.
(Expect this one some time later this week, either Friday or Saturday, with a slight possibility of Wednesday if I think I need to run it early.)
PEWA: INSANITARIUM Date and Time TBD
PEWA Extreme Title: Phosphorescent Terror Match Tomas the Tiny Giant(c) vs. Florida Man Florida Man is weirdly popular with the PEWA crowd, so much so that Biff Taylor decided to gift him a title match against Tomas here. For Tomas, however, the gift is even better, with light tubes in all four corners to use to his heart's content.
The Final Ten Minutes of GPC G.P. Christopher(Lightning Pro) vs. Biff Taylor The grudge between PEWA President Biff Taylor and former PEWA star G.P. Christopher has been well documented. The two will battle it out in an exploding barbed wire match with the timer set to a low 10 minute explosion mark. Taylor stated "He wanted a shot, he got a shot...an' we're gonna go up in flames, ain't we?
Insanitarium Match Jack Fury vs. Bath Salts Zombie The BSZ apparently vomited into Jack Fury's gym bag in the backstage. As such, Fury demanded the junkie face him inside the confines of a steel cage.
Four Corners of Horror Sir Vladimir Henry and Heidi Karnstein vs. Victor Van Banning and Yamikuro The old rivals make their PEWA debut here, with barbed wire in all four corners, and tornado tag rules in effect. The ghostly Yamikuro is a natural addition to the carnage in this one.
Insanitarium Match Kyle Anderson(Phoenix Rising) vs. Tracy Finn Biff Taylor publicly stated that this match is a cage match so he could get more use out of the structure.
The Bingo Hall Butchers(Jack Slash(BDW), Rampage Rage and Skullface Killah) vs. Bodybreaker Brown, P-Dogg and Hobo Harry A nice solid six man tag to open up the show, with the Butchers reuniting in the PEWA and taking on three of the Originals.

I think I'll be running Insanitarium tomorrow night at 8:00 PM CT, which should square with my schedule, and allow me to get the show in before Halloween and most importantly, before Red Dead 2 comes out.

Results PEWA: INSANITARIUM October 24, 2018 PEWA Extreme Title: Phosphorescent Terror Match Tomas the Tiny Giant(c) vs. Florida Man Tomas has won many of his matches in the PEWA through dominant performances. This was the moment where Tomas demonstrated that he could win even when everything seemed to go wrong. It would not be an exaggeration to state that Florida Man thrashed his foe from bell to bell. The erratic carpetbagger would not stop bashing Tomas with chairs or throwing him into his beloved light tubes. It seemed that the PEWA was on the verge of a Florida Man title reign when Tomas landed one emphatic Ball Peen Hammer to secure a three count. The Final Ten Minutes of GPC G.P. Christopher(Lightning Pro) vs. Biff Taylor G.P. Christopher sees himself as a nascent superstar in the Land of the Rising Sun, and felt that the PEWA and Biff Taylor were holding him back in his quest to achieve his goals. And in his final match as a PEWA wrestler, GPC demonstrated much of that potential, dominating against the PEWA President and surviving the massive explosion at the ten minute mark, while his employer failed to answer the referee. Insanitarium Match Jack Fury vs. Bath Salts Zombie Jack Fury was once one of the biggest prospects in all of pro wrestling, able to blend mat skills, power, hardcore tendencies and surprising leaping ability all together as the PEWA's original ace. Fury demonstrated in this match that while he still possesses those qualities in some capacity, that a pure berserker like the Bath Salts Zombie can power through them with his endless aggression. The BSZ never seemed to slow down or feel any pain as he wore Fury down and finished him with a Codebreaker. Four Corners of Horror Sir Vladimir Henry and Heidi Karnstein vs. Victor Van Banning and Yamikuro The rivals met once again here, with Yamikuro and Heidi Karnstein both taking part in a bloody barbed wire free for all. The momentum shifted back and forth, but Sir Vladimir Henry's ruthlessness gave his team the edge, as he spiked Yamikuro into the mat for a victory. Insanitarium Match Kyle Anderson(Phoenix Rising) vs. Tracy Finn What...did...we...just...see? While last second negotiations kept the cage away from the ring here, it was for the best, as the Unlucky Legend, Tracy Finn took the fight to Kyle Anderson in a way that nobody saw coming. Finn repeatedly came close to defeating his younger, stronger foe and sent the crowd into a frenzy in doing so. Anderson, for his part, displayed incredible resilience in kicking out time and time again, surviving endless weapon shots and eventually managed to turn the tides with a thunderous Dinosaur Buster to take the win. Word has it that Anderson spoke to the staff afterwards, and thanked them for helping him reach a new level in his career path. The Bingo Hall Butchers(Jack Slash(BDW), Rampage Rage and Skullface Killah) vs. Bodybreaker Brown, P-Dogg and Hobo Harry A solid opening contest with the Originals giving a solid fight to the reunited Bingo Hall Butchers. Hobo Harry took the lead for his team, countering his opponents' psychotic power with his seasoned agility, but it wasn't enough to prevent Rampage Rage from powerbombing him through the mat. --- Match of the Night: Kyle Anderson vs. Tracy Finn -This was the surprise of the night(or month, or year), with Tracy Finn turning back the clock about thirty years to give the Phoenix Rising upstart an unexpected challenge. The best match on a night full of solid results, and perhaps the PEWA match of the year. Tomas vs Florida Man and Jack Fury vs Bath Salts Zombie were not far behind, however. Performer of the Night: Tomas -The Tiny Giant survived an onslaught from Florida Man to retain his title in a decisive fashion.

A few words were uttered after PEWA: INSANITARIUM: Tomas the Tiny Giant: the man of the many crimes in the southeast thought he could out-crazy the tiny giant but the tiny giant knows that NOBODY OUTCRAZIES TOMAS WHEN LIGHT TUBES AND TITLES ARE INVOLVED! but that was not easy, nobody thinks it is easy when you fight someone who doesn’t care if they live or die or die or live or eat light tubes or win or lose, or lose or win, but TOMAS CARES AND BECAUSE TOMAS CARES ABOUT WINNING, TOMAS IS THE WINNER! NOBODY IS MORE HARDCORE THAN I AM! NOBODY WILL BEAT ME WHEN LIGHT TUBES ARE BREAKING! G.P. Christopher: I made my point. If you want to hear anything else, find me in Japan where things really matter. I’m done here. Biff Taylor: Yeaaaaah…that was a bummer. But you all know that the Biffmeister is a man of his word. No matter how much that hurts. Damn, I’m getting too old for this stuff. At least the big huge explosions. My ear’s still ringin’ from that one. But yeah, we did that, and it was done, and now it’s time to move on! The PEWA is lookin’ mighty solid, even without GPC on our roster! An’ I can’t wait to see what happens at Lariats #6, when those Neon Knights go up against my two Wild Women an’ we can see if we finally get the Extreme Tag Titles back home! Ok, enough shillin’ I gotta rest or somethin' now. Bath Salts Zombie: Ididn’tdonutthin, justhadanaccidentandJackFurythoughtIdidthatonpurposesohetriedtokillmeinthecage, butIshowedhim!Ishowedhimrealgood!Realgood!Hahaha! Tracy Finn: Yeah. What’d you want? My thoughts? Don’t have many of those. Not really worth saying anything. Ok, it was a good match. A good one, yeah. Ok, don’t I have a tournament coming up? Guess I gotta get ready to lose there… (NOTE: Tracy Finn was speaking into the camera by himself, no interviewer in the room) --- UCSS: Shoot the MoonFriday, November 2nd 2018 (Following ZIP Japan) UCSS Openweight Title Thiago Gracie [C] vs. Aoife DaleyThe Irish KO Machine has shown up on some recent independent bookings and now receives a shot at the dominant Openweight champion, Gracie. This is as clear a match between a striker and a grappler that you’ll ever see. If this one hits the mat, expect it to end quickly, but if Daley can stay on her feet, perhaps a miracle could occur, courtesy of her dynamite right hand. Standard Rules Tag Match Ricky “Violence” Valdez and “The Croatian Axe” Minerva Markovic vs. “Tijuana Wreckin’ Ball” Marcos Angulo and “Kix McGee” Ong DaengsriA recent dojo brawl broke out between these four when Valdez insulted Angulo’s parentage during a BJJ session and while Daengsri and Markovic started off trying to break up the brawl, they then started fighting each other. UCSS Commissioner Dangerous Nicholas Alger decided to take advantage, and made a tag team match out of the mess. Gang Wong vs. Jamie TomasiThe Shaolin Superstar looks to rise up higher in the ranks with a bout against Thiago Gracie’s foremost student, the Armbar Disciple, Jamie Tomasi. Tomasi is a major underdog in this match, but his armbar is still a feared weapon, even if not as potent as his instructor’s. Standard Rules Tag Match The Limbtakers (Candace Monroe (Phoenix Rising) and Ruthless Nicole Alger) vs. Francine Francis and Anaba CamachoOne of the top teams of Phoenix Rising’s Proving Grounds brand takes on a dangerous duo of the ex-cop Francis and the NCWA champion wrestler. The Limbtakers recently had a heated contest against each other, but look to return quickly to their usual tag team competition. One thing is for sure, this one will be a treat for fans of skillful grappling displays. Dangerous Nicholas Alger vs. Jumbo Joseph ButtTwo of the larger, and most experienced competitors on the roster face off in this opener. DNA’s well rounded attack could yield dividends against the raw power and punching ability of Jumbo if this match goes long, but will it?

Tonight should be a good night for wrestling fans, shoot style fanatics and combat sports aficionados! We have the return of ZIP Japan, as ZIP Japan Reborn! airs at 9:00 PM ET, with long time veteran, hardheaded roughhouse and one half of Blue Destiny, Maki Yoshida gets a shot at the imposing Donnie Doogan! She was intended to dominate the division, but only now does Psycho Witch get her chance to dethrone Joshi champion Momoe Ito...but will she be submitted like everyone else the deceptively dangerous Ito has in the past? Storm of the Century! Team Fighting Spirit! Four of the most well-liked members of the roster square off with a tag team title match on the line! And Saburo Hamada looks to get his career back on the path to stardom as he challenges the dreaded Masktaker, Tetsuo K for an opportunity for the ZIP Jr. Heavy title! Hanako Yoshii in action! Rekless Endangerment teams again! GORO vs the ultimate babyface, Jin Matsuda! All this and much, much more! How could you possibly pass this up? Catch this all at: www.twitch.tv/therealdenizen--- Of course, after ZIP concludes, and makes you wonder why in the world you wanted more wrestling after an eleven match card, go ahead and stop on by the stream of the Senatorial Office for some Universal Combat Shoot Style action! The Openweight Title is on the line as Thiago Gracie looks to fend off the striking redhead from Ireland, Aoife Daley!(Her punches are quite potent, too) Two tag team bouts on a shoot style card? You're in UCSS territory now! Marcos Angulo and Ong Daengsri take on Ricky "Violence Valdez and Minerva Markovic, while the Limbtakers travel from Proving Ground to answer the call of Anaba Camacho and Francine Francis! GANG WONG GANG WONG GANG WONG! The Shaolin Superstar will look to stay on his feet against the Disciple of the Armbar, Jamie Tomasi! And the Commissioner steps into the ring to fight the hard hitting Jumbo Joseph Butt! Now there's a shoot style dessert for you! And you can see this at: www.twitch.tv/senatorphillips--- UCSS Presser: Thiago Gracie: Little lady hits very hard, but is no match for armbar, or Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Strength of Thiago is weakness of Daley. No can punch if arm is broken. No can win if punch is not option. Is good fight, though. Aoife Daley: If Thiago thinks he can just break my arm right away...he's gonna be crying crimson tears after I smash his face in! Thiago: I no say that, I say I win with victory by armbar, not easy victory! Aoife: You say that I can't punch if you break my arm, so that has to happen early, right? Thiago: No, no, no, Thiago say that if that happen, you no can punch. Not say that it happen fast. Aoife: But if you're going to stop my punching, you have to armbar me fast! And I don't see that happening! Thiago: Why you have problem? Thiago have no problem for you! Aoife: You have my belt. And I am going to take that. Whatever it takes to do so, I'm going to do it! Thiago: No, Thiago keep belt, it ok, is normal. Aoife: Normal just walked out the door and took a ticket to Timbuktu! I'm shakin' this fed up now! Thiago: What you say? Aoife: I said... Dangerous Nicholas Alger: Ok, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's enough! You two shake hands, and we move on, got that? Aoife: I don't shake hands before the fight. Just afterwards. Thiago: She have problem for me. That make her a problem. No honor. DNA: Buddy, you shake her hand, or I grab your arm and take it over there. Aoife, you too. Thiago/Aoife: Fine. The two shake hands, with Commissioner Alger looking on. DNA: Now this is gonna be a Dangerous title match, yeah!

UCSS: Shoot the Moon Friday, November 2nd 2018 Bonus Match Ai Tanaka vs. Pit Scorpion(Independent) Word has it that Masa Tokugawa sent his student to the States for the sake of experience, and instead of an easy contest, she ended up being the guinea pig for the dangerous Pit Scorpion. Amazingly, Tanaka held up, remarkably well, as she decimated the Scorpion's arms every time the match hit the mat, countering with more armbars than a Thiago Gracie training video. In the end, though, Scorpion's quality showed through, as he managed to land a rolling leg lock. UCSS Openweight Title Thiago Gracie [C] vs. Aoife Daley Some may have questioned Daley's presence in this contest, but she proved that she belonged for the better part of two rounds, never seeming to find her stride, but never giving Gracie a chance to build any serious momentum. In the end, it was not the Brazilian champion's famed armbar, but a quick judo throw that won the match by ten count, robbing Gracie of his preferred victory by armbar. Standard Rules Tag Match Ricky “Violence” Valdez and “The Croatian Axe” Minerva Markovic vs. “Tijuana Wreckin’ Ball” Marcos Angulo and “Kix McGee” Ong Daengsri Two teams with no love lost, and it appears that there could be several alliances forming from this. Valdez lived up to his usual reputation, with constant use of his bag of dirty tricks, while Angulo went for his big suplexes when he could. The real stars of this match had to be Markovic and Daengsri, who ripped into each other with vicious kicks at every possible point, including an extended brawl outside the ring. Markovic was especially brutal with her strikes but Daengsri had the last laugh with a rolling leglock to submit the Croatian Axe. Gang Wong vs. Jamie Tomasi Known almost entirely for his ground game, the SoCal Gracie student actually held his own standing against Gang Wong. This ended abruptly, however, as Wong blasted him with a Shaolin Overdrive combination and finished with a skillful trip into an ankle hold. Standard Rules Tag Match The Limbtakers (Candace Monroe (Phoenix Rising) and Ruthless Nicole Alger) vs. Francine Francis and Anaba Camacho A shorter match than expected, with the Limbtakers looking solid from the start, but out of nowhere, Francine Francis hooked in an Americana, forcing a quick tap from Candace Monroe, who may have been injured by the quick armlock. Dangerous Nicholas Alger vs. Jumbo Joseph Butt DNA, although mostly behind a desk now after the end of his Monday Night Wrestling run, demonstrated his unfaded skills as he put Jumbo Butt away with a patented Dangerous Kick to the head. --- Match of the Night: Ricky Valdez and Minerva Markovic vs. Marcos Angulo and Ong Daengsri -Not entirely unexpected, as there was some serious bad blood coming into this one on all sides, but this match ended up clearly stealing the show. Tanaka vs Scorpion and Gracie vs Daley both had their merits, too. Performer of the Night: Aoife Daley -A controvercial pick to say the least, but Daley's ability to avoid being destroyed on the mat by Gracie was a minor miracle, and avoiding the armbar even more so. --- Post show: Thiago Gracie: Is good, is what I say it was. I win match...but no with armbar, make it less good. Aoife is good fighter, would fight again. Aoife Daley: I showed him! I guess I did. Thiago's every bit as good as they say, but if that's true, then I'm not so bad, either, am I? Give me another shot at him, and maybe I get the win. Or maybe he gets his armbar, but he'll have to rip my arm right out of the shoulder socket before I tap to that! Ricky Valdez: (In Spanish) <Marcos is a son of a whore! A filthy little street whore! And he's no different! I spit on trash like Marcos! Low class, dirt poor garbage!> Marcos Angulo: (In Spanish) <He talks. I fight. Look who won.> Francine Francis: I just wanted to say, I'm so sorry for what I did to Candace. Yes, I wanted to win, and that's part of this game. But I didn't mean to injure her, and I don't try to do that, ever. I just hope she gets her arm healed up real quick and gets back here to give me another match.

You thought you wouldn't ever have to suffer through this ever again. In a just world, that would be the case. But in the real world, bad things happen. And one of those bad things...is the return of: Warning: The Senatorial Office does NOT endorse anything Stanford Bradley says, ever.FINAL WARNING: STANFORD BRADLEY'S FUNNY FACTORY IS NOT FOR ANYONE WHO IS EASILY OR EVEN SEMI-EASILY OFFENDED Stanford Bradley: And, like the Heartbreak Geezer, after being away for way, way, way too fucking long...here's your old buddy Stanford, back again on the Big Stage! Back here in the Funny Factory, where you all knew I belonged, telling stories to make you chuckle, slinging truth like a born loser throws dollars in a strip bar! Yeah, you knew you wanted this. So badly that I didn't go a day without people begging me to "please bring the Funny Factory back! I need to to complete me!"
Stanford: But enough of that, let's get into the red meat here, the real nitty gritty. First off, let's just be real. Really real. To me, I see nothing but fighting all around this Critical Alliance. And not the good kind of fighting! No, I see people moaning and bitching and bitching and moaning, and why? Because anyone who thinks a bunch of people who dress up in funny little tights and slap each other around can get along for more than a few months at a time is crazy! Loony! Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs!
Stanford: But yeah, if it's not this, then it's that. Some of my fellow wrestlers get called out for being too good at what they do. So strong they win every match or make it look easy. I guess people think that they have to make it look like they had a tough time out there, since then they can think "that guy's like me, he works hard!" Now me, I like the people who kick ass and take names. Or just kick ass, period. Who gives a shit about the names of all the losers? Not Stanford! Nah, just sign me up to watch Crusher Honda or Colossus Rhodes stomp some skulls in. That's the real stuff, there.
Stanford: Ok, now that we had our fun, I have one more thing to add, and this one's not all hyucks and giggles. Yes, Sherlock Bradley did some real digging. And I'm telling you, I have some info. Like the sort of stuff that brings down empires and nations and corporations and reputations and all that! Let's just get this out in the open. Aye-eeefe Daley. You know who she is? Because I know who she really is. Not just the redheaded boxer from Ireland. No, no, no. I know who she really is. I know why she gets random title shots, bookings all over the place. The Office can try to sweep this under the rug, and run a month of United Way for Africa shows, but I know the truth, damnit! I know the deep dark secrets that you don't want to come into the light! Nobody believes me...but you better take me seriously. Or you'll find out that Stanford Bradley is a force to be reckoned with, the hard way! Just you wait...you'll see.
Stanford: Now just wait one more second here. I'm not done yet. I want to say one more thing about my Story of the Century! Nobody thinks I have the goods. But I do. And I'm willing to show them. Not my goods, you dirty minded perverts! No, I'm talking about The Goods. And I want to make a challenge for the next big Office show. My side vs. the other side. My side wins, I publicly reveal everything...The Goods, that is. The Other Side wins...I hold back. So, Senator Phillips, you want to play a game?

And I want more Pit Scorpion in my life. Gracie, you mean? :) Pit Scorpion just might return for another UCSS in the future... --- After the previous unsanctioned release from Stanford Bradley's Funny Factory, Senator Steve Phillips produced a statement of his own. Senator Steve Phillips: It is my understanding that Stanford Bradley believes has information that will place the Senatorial Office at a disadvantageous position. He proceeded to issue a challenge. I would like to answer said challenge, under one added condition. Stanford Bradley, you bring your team. But you must compete, yourself. If you do so, I will bring my own alliance and we will do battle. Do not think that I fear your threats, or that I am being pressured into this match, however. Having a chance to compete against your team was more than enough of an opportunity without any of that nonsense being needed, and that, Stanford, is nothing...but the truth. --- Lariats and Legislators #6: Texas Turmoil is now the next event on the Office's timeline, and will take place in just under two weeks. No other source in the internet wrestling community will offer you an interview with TIPWF founder Duke Cogburn and TIPWF Lone Star Champion and Senatorial Office #1 Ranked Competitor, Cowboy Johnston. Kevin Anderson: Hello, Mr. Cogburn, Mr. Johnston, it's good to see you, and I hope you have some answers for me today, here in Amarillo, Texas. Cowboy Johnston: You bet yer last buck ah got sum! Duke Cogburn: Ask good questions, you'll get good answers. Kevin: I'm the best around when it comes to that, so let's start. The TIPWF was out of commission for a number of years, but you have it running again, in part due to the backing of the Senatorial Office. Does this change anything about the TIPWF? Duke: Not really. We get some more opportunities for our roster, and have some fresh names to work with. The Office has been good to Cowboy and I, and we're happy to work with it. We have enough funds to work with, some big corporate deals to back us up, can't complain. Now we just have to hold up our end, and that's not a problem. Kevin: Do either of you feel any pressure from the other affiliates now, that you have to outperform them now? And do you think, Mr. Johnston, that you might need to work especially hard to retain your #1 spot in the Office, seeing how long it's been since you last competed on a televised match? Cowboy: Nah, ah got no problem whatsoever doin' what ah gotta do! Jist hadta wait fer JPM t' get dun with his tour, an' then we've got one hellava match at Lariats #6! He earned that there match fair n' square. Duke: No pressure at all. We just run our fed way we intended. We're a team, with the other affiliates, and I don't see any sense in making some fake enemies out of any of them just to make ourselves look big. Cowboy: We're Texans! That's big 'nuff by itself, if ah do say so mahself! Kevin: Mr. Cogburn, a quick question for you. You're a long term veteran of the ring, and many would say that you're a traditionalist in all senses. When I look at the TIPWF roster, one thing that stands out to me is that while you have a number of like minded types, you also have quite a few members who could be considered more non-conforming or alternative. Duke: You're going to have to be a bit more specific with that one, Kevin. Kevin: Ok, what I'm saying is that you have people like the EWO, Valentina Verda and Martina Martinez, who openly flaunt their unorthodox approach to gender, you have Lil' Lariato, who is as much a hip-hop star as he is a wrestler, you have as many Mexican lucha athletes as you do Americans. Duke: Let me make this clear as day for you, Kevin. If you're trying to say that I can't tolerate differences, because I'm old, and as you said, "traditionalist in all senses," then I'm going to say that you're a blasted fool and an instigator! Am I traditional? Of course! I've done this for about damn near forty years, maybe more, I stopped keeping track! My ways are my ways. And I'm proud of that. But one thing that keeps me going, even when my back aches and I don't want to walk down to that ring, is that there's a new challenge waiting down there, things and people I haven't seen before. And I got no problem with that. Kevin: Fine, fine. So let me ask... Duke: Now just wait one second there, Kevin, I didn't finish! You insinuated there that I have a problem with the EWO. Now I don't understand them one bit, you got me there. But Walt Callahan and I went out and spoke with my friend Felix Santana Senior, and we worked out a deal. I'm bringing Vice Versa over from Santana Family Wrestling, and she's going to team up with the EWO to challenge for the TIPWF Trios Championship against the Three Roland Changs, and that's going to happen soon. If I had a problem working with "alternative" people, would I be bringing Vice Versa over here? Kevin: I guess you have a point there. Now on the flip side of that coin, I want to ask you about the Old Guard Championship, and about the challenges of having so many competitors around who would not be considered in their prime. Do you think there's any danger in that, health wise, and do you think that it's wise to build around people who might not be wrestling for that much longer? Cowboy: Ah'll take this 'un. Kevin, ya gotta keep pushin' the buttons. Ya wanna act like Duke's sum sorta a hater, an' now ya think the long timers ain't got nuthin' to offer! Kevin: I just have to ask the hard hitting questions. Cowboy: So yeah, we got a lotta long timers fightin' here, an' they got a title! We don't believe anyone gotta be thrown away, if they're different, if they're, sorry Duke, old as dirt...jist means they been 'round longer, an' if they wanna keep goin, then that's all good for us! Besides, Office rules say all Old Guard folks gotta work the Textbook Tim Dwight workout, ain't that right, Duke? Duke: It's true. If you're over 50, you have to keep up with the Textbook Dwight workout plan if you want to go in the Office. Keeps us all limber and healthy enough, I guess. Just glad in my case, we don't have to go with the nutrition plan...but I'm glad that they understand the value that we can still bring to the table. Kevin: Well, I think we've had a lot to talk about here. Duke: I think you've overstayed your welcome, if I'm being honest. Cowboy: An' Duke's always bein' honest! Kevin: And there we have it! Duke Cogburn is going to compete in a battle royale for the Old Guard title, and Cowboy Johnston is taking on Jean-Pierre Mutombo of Pan African Wrestling to defend his #1 position in the Office rankings at Lariats and Legislators #6, coming up a week from this Friday, live at the Stockade, here in Amarillo, Texas! This is Kevin Anderson, presenting you with the hottest news in the wrestling world, as always, signing off.
