I want to thank everyone for their support here. I'll post the explanation below the spoiler here just so I'm not reading it every time I come back to the Office.
As things were, an irreplaceable friend I'd known for 16 years was having a tough time. My crazy little cat who never slowed down, never stopped doing unpredictable things, never took the easy route to get somewhere, had more personality than most people I've encountered, never ceased being the stubbornest being I had ever known was in bad health. And on last Friday morning, I lost him.
Wasn't a situation where I felt like maintaining my fictional wrestling fed, or writing for my characters. Still don't feel great, but I'm going to push through and get back to enjoying the things that distract me from the mundane, soul crushing parts of real life that drag me down otherwise.
I want to thank you guys again for being a wonderful community and making this humble little endeavor worth pursuing in a public sense. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: the community is what pushes me to take the extra step, to flesh out my characters further, to bother to stream and recap my events, to run detailed rankings and such. Sure, it's all just small change, but it's more than nothing. And that counts for something, I think. --- All that said, I should be back on for Friday of this week. Expect promos and articles inbound soon! |

My sincerest condolences on your loss, Senator. I'm really sorry to hear that. I want to thank you guys again for being a wonderful community and making this humble little endeavor worth pursuing in a public sense. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: the community is what pushes me to take the extra step, to flesh out my characters further, to bother to stream and recap my events, to run detailed rankings and such. Sure, it's all just small change, but it's more than nothing. And that counts for something, I think. I completely agree and feel the exact same way :) I can't imagine that my OG-FPD fed or resulting feds would have ever taken shape had it not been for guys like you on the GameFAQS FPD forum being interested in that first LTR I ran back in late 2003 :) |

 -Pan African Wrestling star Mohammad Ramses has been training overseas as of late, working in future Office Affiliate Lightning Pro, based out of Kyoto. Ramses has been working with the Super Grey Machine and Rumika Hashi on increasing his offensive capabilities in anticipation for his entry in ZIP Japan's Z-1 Climax tournament. Hashi, who has worked in the Office herself, is an accomplished kickboxer, and Ramses has credited her in the improvements his striking game has seen as of late. -Phil Mercury wants the world to know that he is ready to steal the show at Lariats and Legislators #5. The English born wrestler has recently signed with Wacker Drive Revival and won a Match of the Night award in his first Office appearance on the Santana Touring Festival. Mercury lost the match, but has stated that "to put a smile on the face of the people is all that matters, I will shine as bright as a supernova, and I will rock one and all when I return to the ring." -G.P. Christopher is extremely excited to face one of his wrestling heroes, and wants you to know about it. "Golden Horus is one of the best wrestlers in Japan, I mean, he's not just strong, but he's got style, he never looks bad in a match, and neither does his opponent. As far as I can say, Golden Horus is what a wrestler wants to be." The well-traveled PEWA sensation has a similar reputation for consistency, insisting that he can go move for move with his opponent. "Now, I think everyone is gonna count me out, Flying Fried Chicken Wrestling is big time legit, and their guys don't lose easy, but you know, I can hang with him. I can make this work. And I don't care, I'm going to go out there and try to win this! You asked if I was starstruck. Hell naw! Senatorial Presser highlights for Lariats and Legislators #5
Senator Steve Phillips: Thank you one and all for attending here. It has been a long hard road simply getting back to this point, but we are indeed here. Morgan Matthews and I have done everything it took to bring the Office back into operating condition, and I want to thank him for his own efforts in doing so. Now, today, we are here to discuss Lariats and Legislators #5: Fight for the Right! We have a unique four man tournament to discover who will challenge for Cowboy Johnston’s rightful #1 ranked position in the Office. This tournament starts off with a tag team bout with Jean-Pierre Mutombo of Pan African Wrestling and Masa Tokugawa, late of UCSS, and now an anchor of Lightning Pro in Kyoto taking on Mr. Moonsault of Wacker Drive Revival and Ibrahim Rahman, also of Pan African Wrestling, as well as Golden Touch Promotions. We will hear from these four to begin the proceedings.
Ibrahim Rahman: I have…worked hard on my English. I wish to…speak with people of America in America language. This is great chance for big reward. Mr. Moonsault will be great…partner for team, and great….opponent for match, if we win.
Mr. Moonsault: Now let me take it from here, my little Tunisian buddy. It’s an honor to be part of the Fight for the Right tournament. Four people got themselves a big chance to be the big man in the Office here. I’m already a champ in Wacker Drive, holding The Loop with my people on the D-Team. Big shoutout to the Freight Train, to the D-Man and to Astrid. You all know you’re ballers. Now, Mr. Moonsault has the chance to be a real big baller in the Office. Ibrahim Rahman, you’re both the key to my victory, and my biggest stumbling block. Some might look at the Desert Mirage here, and look at Mr. Moonsault, and think “there’s no way this little guy beats this big guy.” But I know better. Ibrahim’s a baller, too. We’re gonna win this tag match, and then my real challenge starts. Because I know that it’s not going to be easy to beat Ibrahim, and it’s going to be even harder to not get pinned. That’s all cool, though. I’m ready for the challenge.
Masa Tokugawa: (In Japanese)<I have fought ceaselessly to carry out my mission. I have worked to fight as a dutiful warrior of the Apocalypse. Every step I have taken has been to bring the Apocalypse closer to reality in the present day. I have fought many honorable opponents, and many who were less than so. I respect all my opponents, but because they stand in my path, I must introduce them to their own personal Apocalypse. They have their own temporal ambitions and motivations. Jean-Pierre Mutombo: Bonjour! The African Supersensation arrives back in the nation of the United States once again! And this is a wonderful time to do so! Because not only have I, Jean-Pierre tasted a degree of victory in the fine organization of Monday Night Wrestling, but I come back with the chance to be a conquering hero for the fans who have supported me along this journey! And I have an amazing partner to team with for this competition! Masa Tokugawa, the Apocalypse Warrior! The Man with the Knee! We are both loved by the fans! We are both hard hitters! We both have a great and wonderful chance to do what we do best and make it to the main event! Now, then, my friend becomes my foe! Senator: Now, Felix Santana Jr. and Salvador Sosa both will face off for the Dominican Golden Championship of Santana Family Wrestling. Felix Junior enters this match as the long time champion, but Salvador Sosa has made a convincing case that he can take the belt off his opponent!
Felix Santana Junior: I am a proud representative of the glorious Santana Family tradition. I have been the Alliance’s Internet Champion, and I have held this Golden Championship through many challenges. To me, this title is not just a strap of leather with a gold plate. It is proof that I have achieved greatness through the style passed down from Roberto Santana! It is to me, a priceless heirloom! I will lay my life on the line to maintain what this represents! I last defeated my own son, Felix III to do so! And now, Salvador Sosa has issued his challenge! Salvador is a great wrestler. I will say that right away. There is nothing he can’t do in the ring. But he thinks he cannot lose to me. He thinks he is destined for this victory. And even if he is stronger, even if he is faster, even if he has more moves than me, what he does not have more of, what he can never have more of is the heart of a Santana, the never-say-die, never-give-in spirit that I will show! For years, your family didn’t let me in their organization, you feared my potential, you were scared for what I could do. You didn’t want to admit that there was someone out there who could take things to the next level. But me, I am that next level. I am the potential. Senator: The PEWA has been heating up lately with a struggle between two men who believe they are each due a shot at Tomas the Tiny Giant and his PEWA Extreme title. Luke Powers, the previous champion has claimed that he will dominate in a rematch, if given a shot. But a new challenger returned to the company, with Jack Fury ending his retirement to make one last run at the title he claimed to have set the standard for. Let’s hear from them.
Luke Powers: I got one thing to do here, and that’s get back to business. Jack, you were a great champ. You showed me how to play the game, you took this kid from the streets under your wing, and you taught me to be ruthless, to be a maniac, to be extreme. Guess what, you’re old now, and I filled your boots, and then some! I’m gonna be more ruthless than you ever were, I’m gonna be a bigger maniac than you ever were, I’m gonna be so extreme that it’ll blow your mind! And I gotta do that, since once I get past you, I gotta get back to taking MY belt off that freaky freak Tomas! So come on, one more time, old man, let’s run one more time.
Jack Fury: When I came back to the PEWA, I told myself I had one more year left. One more year! One more year to finish my career the way it always should have finished! One more year to make it a full twenty year run! One more year to inflict hellish punishment on all! One more year to gaze upon the ruins of my fallen foes and revel in the rain of blood that follows me wherever I go! And one more year to show you, Luke Powers, that while I taught you everything you know…I never taught you everything I know!
Senator: The Capitalists are going to face the Neon Knights. And while Mr. Kalb and especially Mr. Fitsharris begged me for promo time, I turned them down. We know they want their chance at the #1 tag rankings. They do not need to burn your ears off talking about it. And the Knights are more than happy to follow along. Let their actions speak louder than any words will. Now, I would cut this conference short at this time, and I wish I could, but Juliette Erving told me she had to speak. Be warned, I will cut you off if you are too crass for your own good!
Juliette Erving: Alright then, ‘bout damn time someone gave me this microphone, right? So yeah, I’m hearin’ that Listalva’s good an’ ready to take me on in a day! You know, that’s all cool. Lissy’s probably gettin’ all nice and excited, like she just can’t wait to get it on with me.
Senator: Ahem…
Juliette: What?
Senator: You know what.
Juliette: Anyway, so yeah, Lissy and I, we gonna make it real exciting in there, like you can’t turn your eyes away! Cause you can’t guess what’s gonna happen in that ring, they ain’t gonna be ready for that. But thing is, me an Lissy, we’re gonna do some fun things in there, but when it comes down to it, much as we’d like to mess around, we’re gonna have to turn it up, and get down to cuttin’ up! We ain’t hatin’ but it’s gonna be a bloodbath like we were worst enemies, you know? And that’s somethin’ I can’t wait to inflict! You know, like I’m talkin’ about worst enemies, why can’t we just trade Lissy over here for that bitch ass biker whore wannabe Mina? I can’t stand her fake ass stupid ways! I mean, it’s not like she’s even on this show, ‘she’s just ….

Lariats and Legislators #5: Fight for the Right Friday, August 10  Fight For the Right #1 Contender Match Winners of Mutombo/Tokugawa vs. Rahman/Moonsault The main event featured Pan African's ace against the ever popular Apocalyptic Warrior of Lightning Pro. JPM took an early lead in this one, and while Tokugawa fought hard, he never seemed to find his way back into the match, eventually falling to Mutombo's determined attack. Now JPM will face Cowboy Johnston at the inagural TIPWF event to challenge for the #1 Ranking of the Senatorial Office!  Texas International vs. The Gridiron Gang Los Space Cowboys (Cowboy Johnston and Kiyoshi Takada(Royal Ring)) vs. The Gridiron Gang (Freight Train McMichaelson and Jerome Harris(Bushido Pro)(Maikeru) Hard hitting action with two well loved outsiders on opposite corners, Los Space Cowboys and the Gridiron Gang bringing their best to the ring in this one. Jerome Harris was a revelation here, the impressive athlete carrying his team as he fought off both the #1 ranked Office member and Royal Ring's Man from Texas, Japan. In the end, however, Takada was able to pin Harris, with Freight Train unable to make the save.  Dominican Golden Championship Match Salvador Sosa(c) vs Colossus Rhodes w/Midas Matthews, Persephone and Julio Rivera Alas, Sosa's victory was short lived. Just as he started to celebrate, Midas Matthews announced that Sosa would have to win one more match to be able to hold the Dominican Golden Championship and to join GTP. Stating his distaste for Sosa's demands, he unveiled his newest signing, the hulking Colossus Rhodes, who arrived with his tag team partner, Julio Rivera. An exhausted, determined Sosa attempted to fight back, but Rhodes was too much, and obliterated him, finally landing a terrible sheer drop powerbomb to end the match with a cringe worthy injury to Sosa. The title then was announced to revert to a disgusted Felix Junior, who stated that he would not defend it until Sosa could return to action, and considers his opponent to be the true champion.  Dominican Golden Championship Match Felix Santana Jr.(c) vs. Salvador Sosa Felix Santana Junior has been the SFW champion for three solid years. He wrestled with a singleminded focus in this match, attempting to neutralize the athleticism and versatiity of Salvador Sosa, but as the match went on, the Blue Chipper of the Dominican started hitting his big moves, and countered a last ditch effort to hit the Proof of Greatness to take his long-coveted prize, and gaining a promised spot in Golden Touch Promotions for winning the Golden Championship.  War of the Wild Women Juliette Erving vs. Listalva Anne Heyward(Phoenix Rising) This...was something. Erving started the match seeking a liplock, and seemed to be kissing more than fighting for the opening stanza. As the match went on, Heyward managed to regain her bearings, landing a big guillotine crusher and her spectacular shooting star press,keeping Erving from fully taking over, but every time she went to finish things, the PEWA star had a counter, never letting Queen Anne land anything off a go behind, and eventually winning an intense, hard fought match.  Senatorial Office #1 Tag Ranking Match Neon Knights(Supernaut and Holy Diver) vs The Capitalists (Kevin Fitsharris and Anthony Kalb) The Capitalists took their shot at the top tag prize in the Office, and did not hold back, utilizing persistent teamwork and coordiantion, looking like they had a real shot at dethroning the top ranked Neon Knights. Fitsharris was especially on top of his game, constantly seeking his Black Tuesday submission finisher and keeping his team in the match. Alas, it was not enough in the end, as the Knights were able to win following an Asai DDT from Supernaut and an impressively timely cutoff from Holy Diver to secure the victory. Regardless, this match raised the stock of the two business casual clad wrestlers who proved that they could compete with the best.  PEWA Extreme Championship #1 Contender Jack Fury vs Luke Powers Words cannot fully describe this match. A hard hitting war between a student and his old instructor, a battle between the dethroned ace and the original ace of the company, a struggle between one man looking to regain his spot and another looking to see if he had one more run at the top. Powers and Fury delivered through their match, trading power bombs(and Powers bombs), slams, Devil Clutches and flying shoulders. Eventually, Powers was able to overcome his opponent with a horrendous accordion style torture rack, bending Fury's spine into submission.  Flying Fried Chicken Exhibition Golden Horus(Flying Fried Chicken Wrestling) vs. G.P. Christopher The action was fast and furious from the get go, neither man taking a slow pace. Unfortunately for GPC, he may have been a bit star struck and got caught with a number of Golden Cutters from his superior opponent, but that said, a loss to Golden Horus is nothing to be ashamed of.  Fight For the Right Qualifying Match Jean-Pierre Mutombo and Masa Tokugawa vs. Ibrahim Rahman and Mr. Moonsault JPM and Moonsault started off with a brawl of their own for the first five minutes, neither gaining much, until both made the tag almost simulataniously, with Tokugawa rolling thundering his way into the match with a whiff. The teams battled for a good while, with Moonsault demolishing both opponetns in a big exchange, but in the end, the determination of Jean Pierre Mutombo was just too much to overcome, sending his team to the main event.  Ramses vs Mercury II Mohammad Ramses vs. Phil Mercury Phil Mercury was able to control the pace in the early stages of this match, circling around and attacking the legs. Ramses may not have been in control, but was still able to land some solid moves in response at times, including a big diving splash and some hard hitting boots to the face. A Final Pyramid Driver around ten minutes netted a near fall, but only that. As time went on, the big Egyptian started to wear his smaller foe down, landing a steady stream of lariats and kicks to do so. Finally,a huge Pyramid Driver put an early end to the match, allowing Ramses to stake his claim as a dominant member of the feud. --- Match of the Night: Luke Powers vs Jack Fury -There was no other real option for this. These two tore the house down, and brought everything they had to the table in a glorious battle of powerhouses. Listalva vs Juliette was another exceptional match, as was the Capitalists vs Neon Knights and Sosa vs Felix Junior, but the PEWA #1 contender match was a step above the rest Performer of the Night: Jean-Pierre Mutombo -JPM was just on another level, taking charge of his tag match and looking to be a tier above Masa Tokugawa in their contest. No doubt who owned this night. Injury Report: Salvador Sosa - Two Months Suspension, Minimum, Severe Concussion -Sosa is lucky to be alive. Powerbombed on his head by the fearsome Colossus Rhodes, many in attendance thought the Blue Chipper may have suffered fatal injuries. Fortunately, after thorough medical analysis, the doctors have stated that he "only" suffered a severe concussion. However, this does mean that Sosa will be suspended for a good amount of time and will only be cleared again when the doctors are sure he is ready. |
