So yeah, this sure as heck isn't Fire Pro when it comes to simming (not by a long shot) but the simming is pretty fun this year and the wrestlers (including CAWs) will use a bigger variety of moves and attack positions than in years past. Hell, they'll even go out of the way to set up the OMG spot in one match but not bother with it the next. Attributes actually do something for CAWs in sims vs the default roster this year. I'm still very fuzzy on the personality traits thing (it's been like 4 years and I still don't know if or how they specifically effect in-match behavior) but overall, they have improved this aspect of the game quite a lot, and that's without special sliders (which would presumably allow for more nuanced control over things).
I've heard almost universal positive feedback about the actual gameplay this year and I can't wait to try it out.
After I finish my signature CAWs xD
Please, please, PLEASE don't let any of the patches ruin this experience.
I never even thought about simming in this game. Seems like a far more rewarding experience to actually play the game. The AI seems to be much harder this year too. I used to play on Legend difficulty with my eyes closed, but I've actually lost a few matches this year.
The only games that I'll sim are Fire Pro and EA UFC 3 (underrated in this aspect).

Madden is kinda fun to sim, but you have to tweak settings for best results (and it really helps to set teams to more generic playbooks).

Just as I got the day one patch downloaded and installed our power went out due to a big windstorm we've been having the last two days. Power just came back on finally but I don't dare start it up yet since the storm is still going and it may go out again.

And I wouldn't think about really playing it hardcore because 90% of what I do in these games is making CAWs.
That's far more rewarding than playing against the AI and the always borked online.
Funny how your idea of fulfillment is different from mine.

I was talking specifically about this game, not in general.
This game seems much more tailor-made for actual play than for simming, unlike Fire Pro which has a reputation for being a great simming experience.

This is the first year I can say I've played nearly every match in Universe mode. I was incredibly excited to be able to dictate who won matches, however I have just turned to playing the matches. I've even found myself getting into a match and letting the AI get a spot in rather than go for the immediate win because the flow of the game felt fun. Maybe I'm a mark for this game but I haven't had this much fun in a long time playing a wrestling game. I put a total of 36 hours into 2k18 which was my most played WWE 2k game. I'm at 20 already with this and I look forward to time with it. Fire Pro has the sim aspect down but to actually play the match, this is incredible. My one gripe that I'll bitch about is that the Universe mode isn't online. I'd love to be able to jump into an online Universe with someone and create an alternative WWE. One day I know they will, but I'm not that mad because even offline I'm still having a blast. I'm with you Hungerlow, this may be the best WWE/WWF licensed game I've played. No Mercy and World Tour (honorable mention since owned by Vince now) were up there.
This time last year I bitched that 2k didn't do anything and put the game down, I can't say they did nothing because it just feels better. Not sure why it's getting the negative reviews but to each their own. I also play offline so that's maybe a big part of it too?

Is there a point in not unlocking all wrestlers if I got the deluxe version? I mean, I don't usually unlock everything in games but here it just feels like a forced mean of giving the player a false feeling of progression. Even more so considering the fact that wrestlers were open right away if you owned the DLC, at least they were a few years ago - last time I played a 2K WWE game.

Save the VC for MyPlayer.

I’m the guy who bought a Switch to play 2k18. Yesterday it finally started crashing at startup, and Nintendo let me exchange it for Octopath Traveler. Luckily there are a lot of great games on NS. I will never buy another 2k game after this unprecedented mess. Most frustrating is that it would have been a lot of fun without the literal game-breaking bugs. I stuck with it from release until yesterday. Fire pro is still 1,000,000 times better.

I uploaded Hana Brightly onto PS4 Community Creations last night! You can find her by just searching "Critical Club."

Hey I've just started tinkering with the CAW in this and can't work out how to add more than 1 image to tights. Can someone talk me through it!
Cheers

^off the top of my head (been a second since I've made a CAW in it) once you've added your first logo, confirm and select the tights again. Just accept everything with your tights again but when it gives you the option to add a new logo, go in and add the one that you want.
I know there's a slightly faster way of doing it but I can't think of it immediately.
Also, if you're uploading your own logos into the game, make sure that you choose the right size for costume use in the uploader (512 x 512, or 256 x 256)
The giant logos that you upload for use on create an arena graphics won't work on costumes unless you upload them to be used at the above sizes.
I hope that helps a bit

I made Frigyd Wintyrs and MAXIMA in 2K19 earlier this morning while trying to figure out CAW Mode. Frigyd Wintyrs: MAXIMA: If my 2K19 stuff goes anywhere, I'll probably treat it as a timeline anomaly or something to keep it separate from my Fire Pro stuff. Woohoo, kayfabe! Also, nothing is uploaded and I doubt most people here play on PC anyways.
