To quote Reinier Wolfcastle as Radioactive Man from The Simpson's:
"Ahhhh My eyes! The Goggles do nothing!" :P

Hey folks, what's up? Just wanted to let you guys know that I am OK, just fucking tired of a bunch of things. Mental exhaustion. I feel no pleasure in anything at the time. But physically I'm OK.

I have been requesting vacations at work for the past 4 or 5 months, and there is always a bullshit excuse. But supervisors get vacations, and they a whole month off. I have been working non-stop since may 2019. Just a few days off here and there. But not real vacations. I'm getting tired of this.

Everyone is deserved to PTO even if different companies have different systems for accrual.

What I think is happening is that I am really fast with my work, and I can get more shit done than a bunch of other assholes (men and women) I work with, and right now we have a lot of work to do. So if they give me vacations they will be stuck with the slow ass idiots for the time I'm off. I'm not justifying them, but I think that might be the reason. But I deserve my vacation. I have been escalating it, and I will be speaking to management next week.

I used to work in Security, and I used to show up on time, alert to do my job, never called out...so when some schmuck wouldn't show up, I was the first one they called. I was pulling regular 50-60 hour weeks. People talk about overtime pay...but the toll on me emotionally wasn't worth it.
I hope you're able to get what you deserve in terms of paid time off.

I lost my phone in an Uber this evening. Upon realizing it (about minutes after the driver left), I immediately sought to retrieve it by contacting Uber online (thank the gods for services that still cater to PC use). I was able to contact the driver and give him my address again and he returned it to me an hour later. In the short time between panicking and contacting Uber, I must have gone over 2 dozen scenarios about how things could go awry, either for me not having my phone or somebody getting into my phone and using a service (I only have Uber and a couple of delivery services but I'd imagine it's not too hard to go through a few hundred bucks using those if you can get in). Thankfully, I was in touch with the driver no more than 15 minutes after he initially departed and he said that he would get it over to me after he had completed his next fare. Despite my meager means, I resolved to give him a tip greater than the total of my actual ride.
So in a matter of, I dunno, 8 years, I have gone from that guy who resisted the compulsion of buying into the smart phone era to becoming a guy who felt....naked......without one.
I am not proud of that, at all.
On the plus side, I have officially completed the trifecta of losing material items, all in the last year no less!
Before 2020, I had never lost my wallet, keys, or cell phone.
I've lost all three (exactly once) in a span of 8 months or so.

Imagine what would happen if wireless connections quit working and smart phones became obsolete. After a few weeks there would probably be mass suicide. So many people's lives revolve around their phones. I use my phone so little that sometimes the battery runs out and it will be a few days before I realize it needs charged. But I do spend too much time on my tablet.
