Seems like something I would do.

It seems so odd to see tobacco products displayed in the open at a store. In the frozen, sun forgotten, people’s republic of Canuckistan, it is illegal to display tobacco products, they’re kept behind shutters. It’s only been a couple of years now (I think), but seeing that picture already seems odd. Nevermind the clerk is a f$&king shark, look at those smokes! 🙂

I can't even buy my cigars at my convenience store now, I have to buy them online now. They're the same price, but brutal shipping so I need to buy in bulk.

So here's a weird problem I never expected to have on night shift. I keep accidentally referring to midnight as noon.

I've never seen the funeral procession of a fallen emergency worker until today.
The memorialized party in question is KCFD EMT Billy Birmingham who died 9 days ago after contracting COVID-19 from civilians that he had responded to. He spent 22 years with the local ambulance service and KCFD and was apparently very well loved in their community.
I've seen numerous such processions on the news and even streamed live on television but seeing it in person, in my neighborhood (I live near the EMT HQ) evokes feelings of endearment, sadness, pride, solemnity, and reverence. Here's a man who saved countless lives and served his entire community for decades, being honored by countless uniformed peers and civilians alike. I heard that a flyover from the nearby Air Force Base happened over his actual funeral service and every flag for 4 counties is flying at half staff.
Definitely a heck of a thing.
RIP Mr. Birmingham

Has the passage of time been weird for anyone else? This month has flown by, last month dragged on forever, and February seems like a distant memory.

Its never near what time I expect it to be. I have to think hard to confirm its still april. The day of the week is a constant mystery.

When you work shift work, time, days and calendars all become meaningless. You only know when you work and when you don't.

I heard a pretty good quote earlier. It was something to the effect of:
"If you're gonna be crazy you have to get paid for it or else you're gonna get locked up."

My wife only go out to the grocery store, and our church is one of the responsible ones that realizes there is a difference between faith and presumptuousness, so my Sundays are free where I don't have to get ready.
But yet, here I am on a Sunday night wondering where the weekend went.
