Ive considered trying this before, but pondered what to do with World because the base Roster is so small (though the DLC will help with that) and you potentially run into things like 'some moves have 0% chance of ever being 'seen' to be added to movesets' depending on the cast you use for the Edit's career.
Again, DLC may help out a bit with this since we'll have actual Young Lions in the NJPW line-up, can excursion them to SWA (like Story Mode does, potentially even with some of the 'fan-fixed' SWA versions to help simming), then come back through the NJPW main roster.
I guess the alt version is grab the directly ported FPR Edits and use them, too.

Since I have a roster that spans multiple eras, I plan on using the initial mentors to determine which era my rookie will start in. Then I'll just follow the rules outline and add aging and some debuffs based on injuries to the mix for flavor.

The custom roster is a sure option, no doubt, but a set cast (as KOC had) has some visible merit to it.
View it as, roughly, Written rules vs House rules :D

Rolling up mentors and who do I see? New Jack. This is already off to a great start. The protege of Johnny Moss and New Jack, goes for the technical stuff early as he was trained to by his primary mentor. Later in the match he loses control and reverts to his violent tendencies, enhanced by his training with New Jack (a lot of closed fist attacks and stomps) before going to the top rope for a high risk body splash finish. Nine matches in and I can see this becoming my main way to sim matches, it's a lot of fun building on what the RNG gives you.

If anyone's interested I'm going to be working on an injury tool that should work with Johnny Jett's empower system.

jetlag nice pick-up on the Stretch Plum, is that a Fav or Finisher? I wonder if the masked man will get to a point where he has rounded stats, a solid moveset and is starting to win and then takes off the mask! And reinvents himself - going on a tear! Doing his learning and losing under a mask and in anonymity. Don't know if you have a capture device, or ability to stream, I want to see these guys in action now! :)

Wrestler is slowly growing, he had a feud with Ox Baker Jr. which turned into a tag team partnership. Now he inherited Ox Baker Jr.'s finisher (Hurt Punch) as a signature and improved on the sleeper hold finisher that's been the source for most of his wins (upgraded to Cobra Clutch). If this keeps up, he may go the technical/submission wrestling route of his primary mentor (Johnny Moss) and not the hardcore, garbage route of his secondary (New Jack).

As advertised, here's an injury system that should work with Johnny Jett's system. criticalclub.com/thread/375/extra-options-injury-system-releasedAlso, to spice up my own games I've added the following custom rules: 1. Each match played counts for a show, and you can only run a certain number of shows per month. I'm currently using 8 shows a month, but this will be reduced if/when my character moves up to the bigger promotions. 2. If you have a partner/rival, when your character is able to learn a new move you can instead give one of your character's moves to the partner/rival. If necessary, update the partner/rival logic to make use of the move; this is something that I'll be doing to improve chemistry for my character's tag team. 3. You can be a second in singles match for your partner/mentor, where you'll gain 1 point for a loss or 2 points for a win. This is to allow an injured character to still gain potential points & moves from a show, without actually wrestling and risking that his injury will become worse.

Stretch Plum is a fav right now. Personally I'm a fan of the multiple finishes and I'm a mark for the Stretch Plum so I set it so that he will usually do it when opponent is Near Death. It's one of a handful of moves that he can win with right now (along with the german suplex and the ol rookie Boston Crab and Small Package).
Ha, that thing with the mask removal would be a good joke. But faces in KoC2 are limited and right now I like the mask. We'll say. Maybe if he takes it off, someone else will debut as Masked Assailant #2?
I can't livestream. I already tested streaming KoC2, but the result was an unwatchable mess :( However, video recording is no problem. Maybe I will capture a video and upload it to YouTube or stream it on Twitch. I've been thinking about doing something with KoC2 anyways...
Anyways, these are both guys right now:
Nanjo has climbed over 150 points, while the Assailant is still slightly below. They each boast 3 powerballs now (I had them start with 2). Both guys have had hard times behind them.
Nanjo has been mostly losing the tag team matches, but been doing fine in singles competition until he ran into his trainer Katsushi Takemura, losing 3 times in a row. When he reached the 100 and 150 mark he drew Masanobu Fuchi and Takeshi Rikioh as opponents. They wiped the floor with him but he learned a dropkick to the knee and Short-Arm Clothesline in the process. He also learned a cool Abdominal Stretch Pin from a training match against Black Cat.
Masked Assailant went on a losing streak fighting King Adamo and Yoshihito Sasaki, only picking up 1 win against the teams of Yoshihito Sasaki & Vansack Acid and Vansack Acid & Kuroge Wagyuta. He drew Kishin Kawabata, getting beat easily but learning an STF. Then he faced Vansack Acid and Kishin Kawabata again, learning a nasty Thai Clinch Knee Combo and a nice Bridging Fallaway Slam. He finally gave away another 3 straight loses to Vansack Acid. He is still in a rough patch, but slowly improving his stats particularily his defensive parameters. He also changed his stance to Murakamis, indicating a more shooter themed approach in the future.

What about if you want to take a wrestler past his prime? If I wanted to continue on until he became a kind of late 2000’s version of ric flair? Could you come up for some rules and negative points systems to go by?

Could you come up for some rules and negative points systems to go by? You could make up a system where x matches take place per year, and start reducing part endurance and recovery once an edit is past his prime. I'm doing this plus increasing the critical rate for matches to make injuries more likely.

W'ere about 6 1/2 months into the career now, and it's time to visit the old training grounds. It's just about time for the rookie to go on excursion, so he'll get a few sparring sessions in with the main mentor to tighten up his ring work. He already lost one session to a counter roll-up pin, and was reminded that basic roll-ups are just as important as any other move. As a result, he's added the Small Package Hold to his move-set. Training in ProgressUpdateAfter losing every match (as expected), the partner (Ox Baker Jr.) showed up with a training buddy (B-Boy) for a final tag match in the gym before Elijah heads off on excursion. Primary mentor (Johnny Moss) is expecting great things from his protege. Farewell
Final Impact of Training: 1. Learned Small Package Hold after being reminded multiple times that basic roll-ups are important. 2. Reached a milestone, where his first major impact move was learned (German Suplex Hold). This was beaten into him after taking multiple Triple German Suplexes. Excursion Details: 1. Based on my existing roster, I rolled a D4 to decide between North America, South America, Europe and Asia. I rolled a 3 for Europe and selected PROGRESS as the promotion to visit. Edit Information: 1. Johnny Moss - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1128860174&searchtext=Johnny+Moss2. Ox Baker Jr. - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1271890397&searchtext=Ox+Baker+Jr. 3. B-boy - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1179743150&searchtext=b-boy

Nice, when you've hit milestones that allow a free choice of move - what moves have you gone for? I tend to go for stuff that opponents are unlikely to hit me with or are low %-age moves and would otherwise be hard to learn.
