For today we have Famitsu issue 82 Page 98. In the Q&A section of the magazine a reader was looking for help to defeat the Violence Monsters, Stan Bison and Big Great Bull. Plus a little bit of artwork to go along with it.

Wow, that is bad! BamBam looks good, Andre looks like some kind of giant rat man, and macho man looks more like snake pliskin. Dibiase has a Chucky vibe, worst and scariest of the lot!

Love how they refer to Hogan's cross as a "Golden X"

Oh my personal favorite is Randy Savage, he looks like a love child between Randy Savage and Adam Cole I like to call him Andy Cabbage (bay-bay)!

It's interesting that the working title for Royal Rumble and Rage in the Cage was "Super WrestleMania 2" - those games were serviceable, but I wonder if there was talk at any point of a home port for WrestleFest Honestly I love the LJN tug-o-war style games! We are finishing up going through 1991 magazines (so Wrestlemania challenge being first called Survivor series stuff), but I’ll keep my eyes open for information!

I remember hoping this game was going to be good and I was so disappointed. It had my favorites Andre Savage Bam Bam and Dibiase . I thought the game was going to be like Pro wrestling or Tag Team and it was a far cry from both games. Wrestle mania Challenge didn't far to much better. Superstars from the game boy was coolthough. From what I understand Wrestle fest was never considered due to the LJN games being made. I never played Superstars 2 . I had WWF Cage Match for the Nes. But I had to return it because it was so bad.

Famitsu Issue 79 Page 49: In the lower left hand corner there is a picture of Animal and Hawk at Consumer Electronics Show 1989. CES was where all the video game companies would show off their gear for the media, before E3 this was "the show" for video games in the US. Held in June, they are probably promoting one on my favorite guilty pleasures, World Championship Wrestling for the NES!

I could only imagine what could have came afterward. Imagine WCW 2 Wargames. I always thought it would been cool if they could have had a rpg style game. Or a world tour where you go all over the world . I swear if I had the money I would make a game that way. You go to Japan and fight for there world title ,then defend it . Or wrestlers come to the US and do the same. There just seems like so much that could be done.

Since the article was in 1993 I just imagine "Mr. X" being some random WCW wrestler... I'm going with Van Hammer! Except he was definitely a flashy move wrestler... well, sorta.... Mr. X is not producing AEW matches these days, that's for sure 🤣 I love that you pulled, of all people, Van Hammer, out of your ass as Mr X! I had to go back and check some matches, Van Hammer even has his own wrestlecrap entry, and there’s a great video clip of Arn Anderson talking about Hammer entering the locker room for the very first time announcing to Arn, Steve Austin, Regal, and beautiful Bobby that he’s “WCW’s answer to the Ultimate Warrior and I’m here to save the company”. Arn said the boys waited for him to start laughing, but Hammer never did because he was dead serious. Great stuff. I also found this old match between Dirty Dick Slater and Van Hammer. Robert Fuller, Meng/Haku, and Dirty Dick in a stable?! Wow! Gordon Solie, Larry Zbysko, and Dusty Rhodes on commentary. How things have changed. The Hogan Hotline ad at the end of the video is worth the price of admission alone! 🤣 m.youtube.com/watch?v=uRD4MQHTpEII also just noticed that the Million Dollar man has the Tumb Backle Leap as a special move, I don’t remember seeing that one in any of his matches, must have been a game exclusive. Has anyone made the Tumb Backle leap in movecraft yet? 😁

Does Dibiase go to the top rope a-la Macho Man, but instead of putting his fingers in the air, is it a dual thumbs up? Or is it a M. Bison psycho crusher with thumbs?

Famitsu Issue 13 Page 92: News on Riki Choshu's video game Shin Jinryu: The New Type. If you look, this build is very different from the released game. Where there is a day and night cycle (or some levels are night levels) and Riki is an additional character and not a transformation. Famitsu Issue 14 Page 108: News of the delay of the game, and additional features not in the final game. Such as this build featured bi-directional scrolling, which would have made this game a vertical/horizontal shooter hybrid Famitsu Issue 15 Page 101: The last preview of the old build of the game featuring power-ups that did not appear in the finished game
