Mr. Marsh, if I may enlighten your brain with a couple of stupid SoulCalibur questions?
- Is the plot supposed to be battles between characters from totally different time periods, such as Eternal Champions from Sega Genesis? - Does SC5 have more than one DLC fighter?

-No. Dampierre was the only DLC character for SCV.

I'm probably gonna get back into the fighters I've got on the PC to regain the muscle memory that I've lost over the years.
I started messing around in Training Mode on Skullgirls yesterday. I may reinstall MKX and play that, and I've also got USFIV and SFV though I don't really care for it. I've got the first Injustice game as well.
So I've got plenty to keep me occupied.

Since I finally got a PS4 for Red Dead 2, I decided to buy SF5 and KOF XIV. I've barely played either of them due to RDR but it's nice having them and playing them smoothly. My computer never allowed me to do so. They both ran too slow. It's kind of a Shakespearean tragedy: They are excellent games but the whole reason I can play them now is cause I got a system for an entirely different game that I can't stop playing 😬

Marduk and Armour King, should have been in the game from day one, but if you've got some extra Zenny burning a hole in your pocket, you too can play as the cooler version of King and the Vale Tudo beast! First Lei, now these guys. I really don't like this trend, but it seems to be the norm these days. Next Ken and Ryu will be DLC for the next Street Fighter. Anyway, good news about AK and Marduk.

Yeah, that's complete bullshit. Take characters out just to sell them to you later? Like, I really like Marduk, Lei, and Julia but I'm not paying for them since they should have been there in the first goddamn place. Lei's been in every game since he debuted in T2, as have Julia since T3, and Marduk since T4. Then suddenly they're just gone in T7. But hey guys.....they're back! For the low, low price of $30 (or $6 per character), these classic characters that you've played in every Tekken game for the last 15-22 years but are now suspiciously absent can be yours once again! Oh yeah and we have this trash ass character from zombie wankbait prime available too! >_<
At least with Soul Calibur 6, the characters they're likely to re-introduce as DLC were absent in the previous entry as well (meaning they haven't been seen since SC4, released 10 years ago).

Five bucks for a single character? Good grief.
No wonder I stopped playing these games regularly. I have to pay the same amount in DLC to get the full roster anymore.
Assuming Cassandra is a DLC character in SCVI, she'll likely be the only DLC character I bother purchasing. I don't care about Tira, that's for sure.

Oh yeah and we have this trash ass character from zombie wankbait prime available too! >_< This exactly. Street Fighter was the first to do this in a very drastic way with SF5. I refuse to pick up any more SF games, the constant hustling for our money by selling costumes so that we can play virtual dollies is one thing, but excluding key characters from the roster that should be there is another, VERY GREASY thing entirely. I guess Killer Instinct did this too, but that game seemed like a gimmick from day one. I guess it feels more personal now that Tekken has fallen victim to this horseshit practice, my sentimental favourite fighting game using my sentimentality to try to SELL me cornerstone characters that should already be part of the roster. Remember when there were TIME RELEASE characters in Tekken? Or when you had to meet certain in game conditions to UNLOCK characters? And the Walking Dead guy? Why? I haven't watched that series past season one, so I don't know anything about the ascot clad tough guy, but in no way do I see any relevance in Heihachi or Kazuya fighting an opportunistic survivor of a zombie apocalypse. Gon was ridiculous enough, but at least he was an unlockable character. I'm going to skip the DLC characters, I've already paid for the game, I'm not paying for it again to use a handful of characters that should already be in the game.

People are more inclined to buy their favorites, or at least a mix of old and new. Even "new character with similar style" tends to get mixed reaction. I looked a bit at AK's new stuff (which took longer because oddly the main place you'd think would at least have a blurb hasn't updated, and I'm not sure I even want to look at the Julia threads)
III originally would have been all new. Even with Ken and Ryu returning due to feedback it was a small roster and that's not even counting that Yun and Yang didn't have different moves until 2I.
IV started with 17. The home version made Seth and Gouken playable as well as adding Cammy, Dan, Fei Long, Sakura, Gen and Rose. Super got a lot of gripes for those who forgot. AE was somewhat odder in delays and added less. Then of course Ultra five years after the original.
V started with 16. Five seasons gets them 30, which would end up more than IV and at a similar timeframe. I do think the slow drip hurts a lot. There are always rumors of some sort of other update or revision, but that seems to be wishcasting.

REALLY happy to hear that news. The KOF series has become my favorite fighting game series over the years and I want to see it continue. Happy to see a new Samurai Shodown too! And happy to see SNK continuing to make fighting games in general. Holding out hopes for seeing a Last Blade 3 in the future.

Some recent Samurai Shodown news also confirms Charlotte will be in, game is 95% done and the game will have an 18+ mature rating due to 'amputation effects'.
