I messed around with the SF VI demo and was really impressed.
I didn't get too far into World Tour since it took too much energy to customize a fighter 😂
But the regular 1 on 1 mode really showcased how awesome the engine is. Ryu felt refreshed!
I think it's going to be a bigger deal than SF4 and an even better game than SF5.

I'm sold. The Mortal Kombat games have been great since 9 (which kinda was a reboot) but now they have a chance to reset the story, which became so convoluted after so many iterations of the game that you need a freaking wiki to try and understand the narrative. |

Tempering my expectations early. I probably won't be picking up this game after being generally disinterested in MK10 and MK11.
Then again, if characters like Cetrion don't end up in this game, I might enjoy it.
What I really want is a Shaolin Monks re-master.

I hate Marisa's design so so much. It's so- I can't even describe how much I hate it. The literal helmet hair is so goofy. "Bad" goofy, not "good" goofy. It's not for me. More power to you if you like it. Manon's pretty cool though. I like the mixture of dance/ballet with the judo throws. It's unlikely that I pick up SF6 because I haven't been able to get into a Street Fighter game since Alpha 3. I did not like how Mika played in SF5 compared to Alpha 3. I kinda want to give Battle for the Grid a real go, but I'm not very good at it. Quite disappointed that there's no real "breakaway" or parry system, so if you get caught in a combo loop, you're pretty well fucked. Unless I'm just that bad at the game and don't understand the mechanics, anyways. I wanna pick up the Red Samurai Ranger DLC at some point soon because she looks cool and her fighting style gives me Mai Shiranui and Kazuki Kazama vibes. I've tried it and can't get into it. Too many long ass combo's. I'm old and can't keep up. I typically dislike game's with swap out mechanics. Too early, can't think of the actual name. I like getting my ass beat in a good ole one v one. |

I like getting my ass beat in a good ole one v one. Yeah, I bailed on it a lot quicker than I wanted to. I found out that the devs are on the blockchain, heavy into crypto and NFTs. It's a shame because at it's core it's a fun game and it has a familiar cast of characters. Oh well. ~~~~~ I've been farting around with DOA 6 here and there for a few weeks. I only wish that the DLC policy didn't suck. Absolutely no way I'm paying nearly double the asking price of the game for it's DLC characters. The entire selling point of the series is "sex and violence", and that doesn't bother me at all. I just wish the characters weren't ten dollars a pop and Mai Shiranui wasn't double that. It's absolutely stupid. I used to compare DLC characters to action figures - Pay five bucks and it's mine to play with for the rest of time. I can't rationalize that for a 20 dollar character, lol. No way. Macaroni and cheese with Kokoro's elbows has been a lot of fun, so I'm at least getting something out of it. Honoka is a great joke character too. |
