I hope to have another video up tonight or tomorrow morning going over my first month in Celestial. We'll see if I can get back next month!

I spent the the last couple weeks of October putting together the matches that went into this. Here's what a month of playing Guilty Gear Strive on the Celestial floor looks like, going up against the matchups that people complain are tough to impossible for May to win. My point here isn't to flex or try to claim I'm good at this game - I'm not - my point is nobody is invincible. Every character is beatable. Yes, even that one.

Struggle as I might, I couldn't get back to Celestial in November. I think I just got lucky in October. I did have some fun matches though, and I learned a new trick or two.

It's been two years since my last video, but the release of Season 3 of Guilty Gear Strive got me playing again, and when I Strive, I inevitably end up being Bad.

Elphelt is a ridiculously fun character and I've barely touched May since she came out. My theme for this video was "When I do every possible thing I could do wrong, and somehow still pull out a win." There's a couple points here where I legit just stopped playing for a second or so because I got confused, but somehow that ended up working in my favor? I think I accidentally psyched my opponents out lol.

Years ago, I was going for the highscore in Tekken Tag's survival mode. Some players would brag about obtaining 50 wins. More-polished players may sit comfortably at 1-200 wins. I wanted to beat all of them. So I set out to beat every other record.
I wanted to max out the survival mode win counter.
My game started around 10PM on a Saturday night. Since Tekken Tag was easily my favourite sequel of the original series for years by that point, clocking the A.I. on Ultra Hard difficulty was no issue. My chosen team specialized in punishing the A.I.'s flaws.
In the older games, knocking the A.I. to the ground and then immediately following up with an unblockable attack was a sure-fire way to get a cheap win. Throughout the night, my team had two unstoppable strategies against the A.I.:
True Ogre - A best-of boss character that incorporated moves lifted from other Tekken fighters. My strategy with Ogre involved using a rising gut punch (lifted from Kazuya), which would stun the opponent and send them to the ground. I would then back up a space, only to use Wang's unblockable Dragon Power Punch to finish them off.
Gunjack - Start the match immediately with Jack's rocket punch - which the A.I. would usually fall for. Once on the ground, I would then do a rocket jump (3+4); dropping Jack on the opponent. Rinse and repeat.
By 9 in the morning, I reached 999 wins. The on-screen counter didn't go past that. My eyes hurt, I was incredibly tired ...and I vowed to never play another game of Tekken again.
When I finally woke up, I was back to playing Team Battle mode like nothing happened. Addiction sucks.

I one time faced my friend at Soul Calibur II. Deciding to test my abilities as the best player ever, my friend issued a challenge "try to beat me using a barely-functioning, oversized, Madcatz controller ...with half of the buttons missing".
My friend picked the dreaded Azure Knight Nightmare; while I chose everyone's favourite spandex-clad ninja Taki.
2 rounds later, my friend retired from playing Soul Calibur II.
