Today, I discovered a new Japanese Wrestling simulator for your mobile devices called Pro-Wrestling Story (プロレスリング物語). Pro-Wrestling story was developed by Japanese game developer Kairosoft. The masked man on the far left contains a thunderbolt design greatly similar to Super Strong Machine's mask. Events even include televised match interviews. This particular Wrestler contains a customizable Tiger Mask. Sprites are super-deformed with a retro-cool 16-bit look. I also like the fact that the game utilizes Fire Pro's patented isometric viewpoint for matches. From the looks of gameplay, not only can players compete inside the ring, they can also take part in building their own promotion from the ground up. Customizable edit pieces, interacting with the outside world, and a free-roaming aspect brings to mind Sims/Tycoon-type gaming. Footage of Pro-Wrestling story in action. The official game description for Pro-Wrestling Story in the Google Play Store reads: "Let's run a professional wrestling organization with the strongest players!!
We have launched a new professional wrestling organization. Daily diet and training are important for professional wrestlers. Place exercise equipment such as bench presses in the practice area and let your students use it for strength training. We will prepare our bodies to be able to counter the opponent's techniques."

Now that game looks fun kinda like Earthbound meets Pro wrestling. Hopefully this comes over to the states. I'm really looking forward to UltraProWrestling .

Seeing Cody, Rhea and Rey officially in a Call of Duty game makes me think of the modding community for first person shooters. Just these are official inclusions this time around.
During the days of dial-up models and America Online, I remember the first time I saw a hack ...my cousin was playing as Vegeta in Diablo back in the 90's.

A forgotten relic from the early days of social media: Habbo Hotel. Did you know this popular avatar-based universe featured a WWE tie-in? According to an article from gamespy.com: "The No Way Out promotion is a design competition we are running in the virtual world of Habbo Hotel from February 12 - 19, 2008. From Tuesday through Friday , Habbos will have a chance to design their own version of the deadly Elimination Chamber, taking inspiration from the real-life Elimination Chamber used in WWE's No Way Out PPV. On Friday, Habbo staff will take the best 20 designs and post them for Habbos to vote on their Top 5 designs. After the voting period, the Top 5 most popular designs will be revealed and rewarded with virtual coins to spend inside Habbo Hotel and a virtual trophy personalized with a message from a WWE Superstar. The Top 5 designs will then compete for the title of Best Elimination Chamber Design picked by WWE. With the title comes a nice real world prize of a WWE Championship replica belt, a virtual trophy with a personal message from a WWE Superstar, and of course, bragging rights to friends."Fans of Tiger Mask and Pachinko may appreciate this Japan-only Pachinko machine from Neo Stella.

Released back in 2014, 'Champion Wrestling Mania Copy And Draw Power Club Game - Free' was an Apple App Store exclusive. The object of the game is to create your own Wrestler using edit pieces from recognizable WWE Superstars. For starters, I can see pieces from Sin Cara, CM Punk's Wristbands, Mick Foley, AJ Styles and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Whew... Is that a barefoot Blade cosplaying as The Undertaker with a baseball bat and John Cena's dog tags? How about Kane trying on Brock Lesnar's red and black trunks, Sin Cara's arm bands, and a wifebeater for the hell of it? The only thing educational from this game is learning how to put together a copyright-friendly dressup title while using WWE-inspired Superstars. Is that Easy E? Kofi Kingston? The Hurricane? The previews keep coming. I'm sure Vince did, too once he found out about this game. Nice Goldust and Sin Cara masks, though.

Modern Mania Wrestling GM keeps the likenesses coming with new updates: XCLSV are based on the Street Profits tag team. Wally Saratoga is said to be based on Brandon Cutler, and Kristy Tristan is believed to be Kacy Catanzaro (Katana Chance).

Kristy Tristan is believed to be Kacy Catanzaro (Katana Chance). How is a beauty queen Kacy Catanzaro? When that's literally Arianna Grace's gimmick

It's quite common in the 80's Mania/Modern Mania universe for a Wrestler to be a hybrid of more than one influence. I can definitely see the sash. So much so, that an entire thread is dedicated to theories on Wrestlers with multiple nods of inspiration behind them: 80smaniawrestling.proboards.com/thread/1712/parody-reference-list-spoilers

Modern Mania Wrestling GM keeps the likenesses coming with new updates: XCLSV are based on the Street Profits tag team. To be more specific, Jayden Verse/J. Verse/UniVerse is based off of Montez Ford (sunglasses) while Rashaad Avonte/Rizz Avon/Dat Rizz is based off of Angelo Dawkins (headband). In addition, Jayden Verse is based off of Kendrick Lamar, with a possible nod to J. Cole in one of his alternate names, while Rashaad Avonte is based off of Drake, with his alternate names likely referencing Drake's nickname of Drizzy. Furthermore, Jayden Verse's hometown is "South Central", as in South Central Los Angeles, and Rashaad Avonte's is "The Big Smoke", one of the nicknames for Toronto. This lines up with the hometowns for Kendrick and Drake, as opposed to Ford and Dawkins (Chicago and Cincinnati). Their bios are also filled with references to various songs the two did. Kendrick and Drake recently had a huge public beef (represented in the game through the feud "Loyalty", which also happens to be a song by Kendrick) and this is probably the developers' way of acknowledging that while also introducing an expy of a currently popular tag team.

Excellent info, Survivor! Without question, I'm glad you're a regular contributor to this thread. As for today's major dose of nostalgia with Wrestler and video game tie-ins, how many 80's icons (besides Hulk Hogan and Pac-Man) can you guys name from this collage courtesy of our friends over at Retro Digital Media?

If your social media selfie game isn't on-point, TikTok is brimming with new Wrestling-related filters to help you out: The WrestleQuest filter:
WrestleQuest mixes the worlds of Pro-Wrestling with traditional RPG's, and features official inclusions of WWF legends such as The Legion of Doom, Jake 'The Snake' Roberts, and 'Macho Man' Randy Savage among others. The WrestleQuest filter allows fans to dress up like Macho Man Randy Savage, with additional Wrestler appearances from the game seen at the bottom of the frame. There's also a Wrestling minigame that allows players to go for a pinfall while recording a small video of themselves! The Wrestlers seem to be The Rock hooking the leg of John Cena. As you might expect, most of the filters are unsanctioned from the WWE and other promotions.

As much as we've covered Wrestler appearances in video game culture, this thread has also tackled appearances in card game form as well. Diving into the deep end of obscurity once again, I present to you: WRESTLE CARD SLAM: PRO-WRESTLING SECRET BASE Wrestle Card Slam is a traditional card game featuring Wrestlers from the Dragon Gate-inspired promotion SECRET BASE. The Wrestle Slam cards display wacky, full-colour photos of the SECRET BASE roster. Many of the SECRET BASE Wrestlers are included in these cards; making this an ideal addition to any fan of the promotion's collection.
