Since it's been two months since I talked about scanning guidebooks, I thought I'd share this recent scan from the SFPWX
Edit Wrestler Guide: Flying Antares is the Fire Pro rename of 2 Cold Scorpio; one of many CAW formulas found within X's Edit Wrestler guidebook.
Full guide coming soon.

Since it's electronic and contains two bootleg Wrestler references, I'm throwing in a knockoff Wrestling ring set from the 1990's as today's first submission: The Superstar Broadcast Wrestling Ring is a third party Wrestling ring playset intended for use with Hasbro's WWF figures. The two unnamed figures are knockoffs of Hulk Hogan (with Ultimate Warrior's facepaint), and Road Warrior Animal. The edit mode in WWF No Mercy contains edit pieces that can be used to create Hollywood Hulk Hogan. The edit mode in WCW NWO Revenge contains a bonus character called Han Zo Mon. Han Zo Mon is based on Hardcore legend Hayabusa. In WWF Attitude, players can create (then) WCW Wrestler Rey Mysterio. The last three submissions were lifted from polygon.com's 'How wrestling game fans worked together to get the best unlicensed outfits' article.

If you're a Wrestling fan and an owner of a Commodore VIC-20, you may be pleased to discover the following title: Face Versus Heel - The Pro-Wrestling Simulator
Released in 2010 by Ghislain, Face Versus Heel is a fan-created, homebrew Wrestling title for the Commodore VIC-20. The official game description reads: "a pro-wrestling simulator where the outcome is determined by a random number generator, but good tactics can maximize your chances". As you can see, the title screen for Face uses a photo of WCW's Four Horsemen stable (Ole Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson, Ric Flair and manager J.J. Dillon). Here's the original photo.

When is the c64 remaster coming out?! I'm still waiting for a WrestleFest SNES hack. The console was more than capable of pulling it off. Just look at what Capcom was able to produce with Saturday Night Slam Masters. The hardware may not have been arcade-perfect, but to play WrestleFest at home, I'm sure many fans would have settled for some corner cutting.
But...we were treated to Super Wrestlemania from LJN instead....
Merry Christmas, everyone. I've just started working on another guidebook - Fire Pro-Wrestling Iron Slam '96.

Always on the lookout for obscure Wrestling games, I just discovered this title: The Pro-Wrestling Move - What Kind of Technique? Known in Japan as ザ・プロレスムーブ~それってどんな技?Year: 2020 Platform: Apple mobile devices Developer: CatStudio LLC The cover art features a generic Japanese Wrestler applying a Manji-gatame/Octopus Hold. In The Wrestling Move, the player has the ability to scroll through and watch various Wrestling techniques. Besides having various camera angles to view techniques frame by frame, players can also choose a first person camera to watch the moves head-on.
From the screenshots and footage, I have noticed five Wrestlers in The Wrestling Move. Black trunks - This Wrestler resembles Katsuyori Shibata.
Red trunks - Another tough one. His tights remind me of a palette-swapped Kota Ibushi. Appearance-wise, he looks closer to Kazuchika Okada.
Blue tights - Caucasian Wrestler with a goatee and blonde hair? My guess is Kenny Omega.
Black tights - My first guess was Ricochet, but this African American combatant is probably based on Leo Rush.
Default training dummy.

The December update to 80's Mania Wrestling Returns includes a new character called 'Platinum Blonde': Platinum is based on 'Double J' Jeff Jarrett's flamboyant 90's attire. From the October update is Mister Hollow, who is based off of Japanese Hardcore legend Mr. Pogo.

For those of you that love miniatures and tabletop gaming paired with your Wrestling experience, then you'll love today's find: Hero Forge
Hero Forge is an online program where players can create custom miniatures for use with tabletop games such as Warhammer, Necromunda and Dungeons & Dragons.
The miniatures can be modified piece by piece using a virtual application. Once the creator is satisfied with their work, they can then purchase the finished product, which is then created and shipped to them! Fan-created WWE miniatures made with the Hero Forge application include: Hulk Hogan, Macho Man, Papa Shango, Undertaker, Kane, Gangrel, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, X-PAC, The Boogeyman. Edge, The Godfather, Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan and Luke Harper. This fight scene is labelled as the 'WCW Finger Poke of Doom' between Hollywood Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash. Nash is clearly over-selling here. A digital version of Rhea Ripley. Cody Rhodes & Stone Cold. Another nod to Wrestling's past blunders: the infamous, ill-fated matchup between Jeff Hardy and Sting.

In the game Rumbleverse, there are several costume pieces/skins that can be used to recreate recognizable Wrestlers: This fire costume resembles that worn by Bam Bam Bigelow. The star singlet shown above looks like a dead ringer for Kurt Angle. There's even Street Fighter (Chun-Li) and Kamen Rider/Gundam Wing references, too.

Probably the most iconic Wrestling-related accessory, the Road Warrior's spiked shoulder pads also appear as a selectable
edit piece in Rumbleverse: With a bit of facepaint, the above edit could totally pull off a Road Warrior Animal tribute.

While most Japanese Wrestling games from the 80's used copyright-friendly caricatures of famous Wrestlers, SEGA's Robo Wres 2001 (1986) tried to be a bit more creative in the character design department. Ever wanted your favourite Gundam Wing characters to duke it out in a Wrestling ring? Well, Robo Wres 2001 was made for you!The various combatants all have unique appearances and specialized movesets. Serving as the player select theme, there are 10 customized movesets to choose from. The movesets all seem to be based on famous Wrestlers. Since I believe no one has really delved into Robo Wres' character design aspect in greater detail, I felt I would make an attempt at uncovering which real-life Wrestlers each robot is based off of:
Robot 1 - GETOCK:
Coconut Crush, Bulldogging Headlock, Backdrop
The Coconut Crush and Bulldog were signature moves used by Giant Baba.
Robot 2 - STRANGER
Elbow Pat, Shoulder Throw, Flying Side Kick
The Flying Side Kick is actually an Enzuigiri, which makes me believe this Wrestler
was based on Antonio Inoki.
Robot 3 - NEGER Knee Lift, Atomic Drop, Brainbuster
The Atomic Drop and Knee Lift makes me think this combatant may be loosely based
on Harley Race.
Robot 4 - GERE Summersault Kick, Elbow Smash, Piledriver
Since Robo Wres 2001 was released before Mitsuharu Misawa was unmasked, I'm going
to assume this agile and aggressive robot is based on the Dynamite Kid.
Robot 5 - APOLLO Side Suplex, Shoulder Buster, Body Press
A tough one to uncover. When I think of technical Wrestlers from the 80's who utilized special suplexes in Japan, the first name that comes to mind is usually Jumbo Tsuruta.
Robot 6 - SOLDIER Low Kick, Backbreaker, Lariat
The Lariat + plus the heelish Low Kick seem clearly-inspired by that of Stan Hansen.
Robot 7 - GELLBAG
Weight Lift, Elbow Drop, Summersault Drop
The Weight Lift (Gorilla Press), plus aerial moves makes me think this robot is based
off of Road Warrior Hawk.
Robot 8 - PHOENIX Plancha, Powerslam, German Suplex Hold
Another tough one. Since Hawk was my first guess, I think the Powerslam may be a
nod to Hawk's tag partner Road Warrior Animal.
Robot 9 - BIAS Flying Cross Attack, Flying Body Attack, Guillotine Drop
The Flying Cross Body and Cross Chop were signature moves of legendary maskman Mil Mascaras.
Robot 10 - NOVEL Throat Chop, Sobat, Jumping Knee Pat
Having the Sobat spin kick and appearance of a masked man with horns, I think this robot is clearly-based on Tiger Mask. There is also an 11th robot named Bible. From the screens that I seen, Bible's speciality is a Diving Knee Drop - which was most-likely inspired by Bruiser Brody.

One goal that I have been meaning to accomplish with this thread for quite some time now was to organize all of our contributions into one, convenient list. While still a work in progress, I have begun a list of games and related media that have featured Wrestlers going back to the 1960's. Home ports, hacks, homebrews, retro compilations, board games, Pachinko cabinets, card games, and other miscellaneous items have brought the list to a grand total of 441 games as of typing this post. You can check out the ever-updating list on the first page of this thread here: criticalclub.com/thread/1620/wrestler-appearances-video-games

440+ games later, the Pro-Wrestling video game discoveries continue!
Jang Pung 3
Known in South Korea as '장풍3' and '掌風3' in Japan
Year: 1994 Platform: Sega MasterSystem, Sega Mega Drive Released by: SIECO When we think about video game characters inspired by Tiger Mask, Japan is usually the first country that come sto mind. However, Jang Pung, a 2D fighting game released in South Korea back in 1994 challenges that stereotype. The Wrestler character Tiger is clearly-based on Tiger Mask. Tiger even hails from 'Chiba', which is a prefecture in Japan. You would think Tiger's stage would be a Wrestling ring or gym, but alas, such was not the case. Tiger's stage is a small home in the middle of a Japanese bamboo forest.
Since Jang Pung 3 was an unlicensed fighting game, most of the stages were lifted from other fighting games such as Fighter's History and World Heroes 2; though, the real question remains:
who came first Tekken's King or Jang Pung 3's Tiger?
