It's your Google Play watchdog again with another prime example of a Wrestling game that should be removed from the Play
store immediately.
If weird Wrestling games are your thing, boy oh boy, do I have a totally bizarre Wrestling game for everyone!
The generic game title should be a red flag already.
Like many bootleg Wrestling titles, Rumble Wrestling is essentially a 1-on-1 fighter. One or two grapples at most, with the match ending
as soon as either player's health bar is fully depleted.
Nothing we haven't already seen before.
Wrestler entrances are also present. A feature many bootleg games of this ilk avoid adding altogether.
Let's take a look at Rumble's roster:
No, he's not Joe Exotic. Tigerking is Rumble's first stolen character model: Tekken's jaguar-masked Wrestler King.
Things just keep getting weirder with Rumbole's stolen WWE Wrestler models. All of whom all super-deformed and completely out of place.
Brokan Laasner is supposed to be Brock Lesnar.
Just look at the mismatched character proportions! Where else will you find Tekken's Wang Jinrei towering over WWE's John Cena?!
Joie PK is Jo Higuchi. A game model stolen from the Fatal Fury/King of Fighters franchise.
A common practice with sketchy app developers is the time-honoured tradition of taking stolen character models into Adobe Photoshop. In
an attempt to avoid being sued by the WWE, the developers scribbles over the character's mesh files in hopes of making the characters less
recognizable.
Which is why the Google Play Store has many abominations that look just like 'Reman Resign' (Roman Reigns).
Kiyoo RJ is another example of stolen character model recolouring. The character is Kyo from King of Fighters.
Naw is right. Johan_Cinaw is supposed to be John Cena.
Spodermen is a name I haven't heard in years!
Spodermen, a meme that, at one point in time, was so popular that it had it's own Youtube series.
Alas, like other Dolan characters, Spodermen died out quite some time ago.
Randy Orton. Again, those weird proportions...
Wangei is Tekken's Wang Jinrei.
The character model looks like it was stolen from Tekken 5. A Game that was released in 2005.
Under Thakerr is The Undertaker.
By this point, I was starting to get fed up with the stolen content.
The Rockstar: Ever wondered what would happen if The Rock looked like an Airbender? Now you know.
Gandro: The only game Wrestling you'll probably ever see Tekken's Ganryu in besides Fire Pro.
Beg Shho: If Fit Finlay and Big Show had a baby - it would be Beg Shho.
Trigonn TD: DC Supervillain Trigon.
Stonne Gold: Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Wilson Deadpol: An unmasked Deadpool.
Alexx JG: Alex from Tekken.
Andrainni Pen: Adrianne Pain.
Shaggee Dp: Shaggy 2-Dope
Madroxy TK.: Jamie Madrox.
The last three Wrestlers come from the game Backyard Wrestling: Don't Try This At Home, which was released on XBOX and PS2 back in 2003, making these
the oldest stolen character models found in a Wrestling app!
Bottom line:
If Rumble Wrestling was a free-to-play M.U.G.EN.-style fan project, I would totally support the game. But as it stands, this sloppy mobile affair is (one of many)
modern examples of the shady, underhanded practices that continue to take place within the Google Play Store.
* Stolen character models repackaged from older video games.
* Poorly redrawn attires and visuals.
* Disproportionate character models.
* And mediocre gameplay that is sabotaged with an overwhelming assortment of ads.
To think that there are individuals out there who continue to profit off of assets that were ripped from games that came out twenty years ago still baffles me.
Maybe one day Google will have a better grip on this situation....
