After two sluggish games, the Lightning cam back in fine form and won 4 in a row against the Rangers, punching their ticket for their 3rd straight Finals appearance. Hopefully they can get the "threepeat."

Glad it’s not the rangers for some reason, even though i don’t watch hockey anymore. Avs lightning will be a decent series.

I don't have a dog in the fight really but I really would rather not see a shitlord like Kadri win anything of note, even if it means a truly special player like MacKinnon gets zilch too. I fucking hate goons and felt no remorse when another goon (and utterly reprehensible person in general) took him out of the last series. You can play hard and fast without playing dirty. He's about as dirty as that ratfaced bastard in Boston and that headhunting shitball in DC.

Yeah, I don’t actively watch NHL anymore, but I know what’s going on (and I work less than a block from where the Oilers play, so you can’t help it, really…), I wasn’t happy to see Kane end up here. He’s ended up being useful as far as a defensive presence (and taken a bit of pressure off of Darnel Nurse), I doubt the team will have the funds to keep him here next season, I won’t be sad to see him gone. That said, my respect for him elevated slightly when he smashed that smarmy prick Khadri, that was very satisfying to see. There was no doubt Kane would end up suspended after that since we all know where Canadian teams stand in Gary Bettman’s eyes, well worth taking him out in my opinion. Besides, Oilers only got as far as they did because they played the kings and the flames, no way they were getting past Colorados depth (Edmonton has one line vs the Avs 4).

Is there really a third attempt at bringing back the XFL?

Is there really a third attempt at bringing back the XFL? It's really a second attempt at the second attempt. Since covid killed it the last time.

Yeah the rock bought it and is running it now so I think it probably has an even better chance this time around.

Will it be on FOX, NBC or both like the USFL was?

I haven’t watched/cared to watch UFC in ages. I noticed a Fight Night out of Orlando on the weekend, so I PVR’d it and checked it out last night. The main event featured Steven Wonderboy Thompson (a favourite of mine) vs Kevin Holland (wow, this guy is fun to watch!) in a banger of a main event! Tai Tuivasa getting smashed by Sergei Pavlovich (tuivasa looked like he tried to stop a spinning lawnmower blade with his face, and the fight was only 54 seconds long…), and a few other good fights rounded this thing out (never was a fan, but Clay Guida with a win at 40 years old!). One fight in particular was interesting, Jack Hermansson vs Roman Dolidze. Hermansson was on the attack early, Dolidze patiently waited to the point of looking almost too passive. That appearance of passivity ended with this (hopefully this video is still up for a while). Calf slicer to set up a pounding to end the fight. What a finish.

This guy has captivated me since I first saw the Russian Neck Drop in No Mercy. I remember thinking “who the f$&k ever did this?!”, then the research began! 😈

Thanks for posting that!! 👏
Karelin was one of the most dominant competitors of the past 200 years. The guy is a juggernaut. That look in his eyes is demonic. I wouldn't even want to face the pixelated FPD version of him in a fight 😭
People used to quit the second he picked them up for the Karelin lift, like right as the move started. They knew what was in store for them and did not want one second of it.
I still love the fact that every FPD default MMA fighter I was drawn to had these incredible careers.
Learning Peter Aerts was a legit Kickboxer legend was cool after using his great strikes to compensate for my horrible grappling timing early on in FPD. Same with Yuki Kondo and Masakatsu Funaki.

I've also been a long time admirer of his career and hate that I only got to see him after the injuries (slightly) diminished him. His legend in the sport is absolutely without equal and I am thankful that it happened in the era of video recording.

What an athlete, I love when you very occasionally see an outstanding human excel and far surpass all of his peers in some endeavour, to the point you begin to wonder how they can even be the same species. Even if drugs were a part of this run, you can’t hormonally enhance an iron will, god like discipline, and next level skill. The longevity of his career is probably one of the most baffling things, especially given his size. He obviously had an army behind him keeping him fighting fit, but even with that support, training as hard as he did will take its toll, never mind competing at the highest level with the planet’s best. Like marsh said, I too am thankful his run happened in the era of video, it’s a treat to watch.
I really don’t care for or follow MMA much anymore, but can you imagine if it were around for him to compete in at the level it is now back in the day?! I know he dabbled, but RINGS was more work than shoot, still entertaining, and he was pretty worn out by then. But yeah, a guy that size tossing folks around with that much skill in MMA now would probably bring the interest back for me.
