Honestly, super happy for the franchise. First Stanley Cup for them since they came into the league back in 1967.
Also really glad that the Bruins didn't spoil it like they did 50 years ago for the Blues.
I think if another fucking Boston team won a sports title, I would seriously consider a sports hiatus.

Pretty crazy to go from last place two months into the season to winning the Stanley Cup. Huge congratulations to those guys. I know several Blues fans who will be calling work off for tomorrow xD
Crazy how they've almost ALWAYS been in the playoffs for the last 3 decades but this was their first Cup appearance in almost 5 decades (that expansion rule was.....flawed lol) but this is their first win. Kind of like Charlie Brown finally kicking the football.

So true, the Blues ALWAYS make it to the playoffs, areALWAYS a big, physical, defensive team that makes it hurt for other teams to win or lose to, but until now never got to hoist a cup. Awesome outcome for St Louis hockey fans, couldn’t have happened for a more deserving team! |

Congrats to the Toronto Raptors on winning the 2019 NBA Finals
They made a huge gamble on bringing in Kawhi Leonard (coming off injury and a VERY acrimonious exit in San Antonio while going into the last year of his expiring contract) but he was the undisputed leader in bringing them their first NBA Championship this season.
I'm glad it worked out for them.
Not having to face their personal boogeyman certainly helped.
Also, good shit from Kyle Lowry. No single person had received more criticism for Toronto's playoff failures in recent years than Lowry but he had a great run dring these playoffs and led the Raptors with 26 points in the deciding Game 6. That ought to shut up his haters.
(full disclosure: I didn't think they'd get it done and I didn't think Lowry would have this great of a postseason; amazing what a little confidence will do for a talented team)

More first time championship teams is always a good thing.
Pretty impressive to see Leonard also become the first player in NBA history to be Finals MVP for both conferences.
Still, they should probably mail DeRozan a ring for being the sacrificial lamb lol.

Cleveland will explode if they do. The parade when the Cavs won the title was insane (like, people-literally-hanging-off-buildings-to-watch insane), and Cleveland really doesn't care nearly as much about basketball as they do football. The Browns still manage to do decent business even though they've been atrocious for decades and probably would have been run out of town anywhere else.
They also picked up a new star and seem to have fixed a few of their long, long-standing management issues (see: atrocious for 20 years) and had a pretty strong later season after these things happened last year so...normally I'd say hell no, but who knows at this point?

Also, Sasquatch was noted riding the Loch Ness monster to meet up with count chocula and boo berry to play test Half Life 3. The blues are basically mini team canada, a good chunk of their best lines are from up here , including their goalie I believe., so in a way, Canada DOES have an NHL championship, too (and there aren’t a lot of Saskatchewan, Alberta, BC, Ontario, or Maritimer boys on the Raptors roster, either! 🙂)! Fun games to watch, so evenly matched, and Golden State are SOOO good, what a series, that was some great stuff! The NBA has absolutely exploded up here, it has always been popular, but now?... wow. |

Golden State was beaten up bad with injuries. If they were healthy, it could have been a different series.
While I hated Golden State, I also wanted to see Drake cry like a baby 😆 I didn't get my wish there.

Durant just being on the court lifted the warriors, it’s godamned sickening that he ended up rupturing his Achilles’ tendon, I hope he has a fast and full recovery. Yeah, drake has been a pain in the ass. I’m surprised the Raptors players haven’t talked to him. It’s fine to be a fan, and he’s paying a mint for court-side tickets, but getting in the players faces all of the time and practically jumping onto the Raptors’ bench is classless. Any other chump would be banned from the building for acting a godamned fool like that, but in the 6ix, that joker gets a pass I guess. |
