Wow 😲
We all knew/hoped it was coming and I'm really glad that it is.
But it's kinda bittersweet to see them refer to it as "the end of an era for Fire Pro."
Hopefully they just mean this era and not forever. But it's certainly the end for the foreseeable future.
Really excited they are indeed following through with move and part makers though!!
And glad to see confirmation about the upcoming Takayama, Suda story, and new wrestler pack as well.

Yeah I’m curious what they mean by that. My guess is if they are going to work on a new game, it will be a totally new system to help keep it up with evolving technology and consoles. Regardless, a move and part creator gives this game the potential to be the best wrestling game of all time, if anyone had any doubts about that already. The life cycle here is virtually endless, depending on what the part creator consists of. Is that something they’ve offered before? I’m curious how that would even work.

They have never offered any type of move or part creator in a previous Fire Pro game.
It makes me think that Matsumoto is fairly confident that Spike won't be funding any future Fire Pro games for a long time AND that Matsumoto wants Fire Pro World to truly go down in history as having the best replay value of the series (and of any wrestling game ever released, for that matter).
I'm really interested in seeing how they are both implemented. I've heard that the wazamake tool (a move editor that is unofficially available in the game for those who poke around in the code) is kind of a mess to use but I'm hoping they will officially release something more user-friendly to work with. Also curious to see how much freedom the parts maker will give us in regards to size and shapes.
I really, really want tall, fancy hats 🎩

As long as those creator tools are on the PS4 I’ll be happy. I have the base game on my PC as well, but I’ve purchased the DLC content on the console version. I want to be able to make suspenders, and the unique chest pieces for Demolition, Harlem Heat and Ludvig Borga. As far as moves, I’ve got a ton in mind.

The end of an era...
This time, I believe it will be the end.
But Fire Pro World will live forever.

I was just about to go to bed after playing PS4 all night and now I get this news. I think this will definitely be the end of the 2d era of Fire Pro. If Spike-Chunsoft ever decide to do anything else Fire Pro related I can see them definitely changing the engine to something more modern. I'm also glad FPW was successful enough for them to keep supporting it for as long as they did. I remember back in the beginning we were just getting a bare bones Fire Pro and a very nervous Matsumoto saying he would be out of a job if the game bombed.

This is great news. We sort of knew it was coming but it's still amazing to hear move + part maker officially confirmed and given a rough release date. Whilst it's sad to hear talk of an "end of an era", with the part and move tools in the hands of the community there really isn't a need for another Fire Pro game... probably ever? It's sad but also a fantastic gift from Matsumoto, to hand over the reins to the fans that have supported him for so long.
I can't wait.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up... but my hopes are up.
I'm going to keep myself sane and expect delays. That said, the fact the Director has put out such detailed communication - that they're willing to share a "roadmap" - is encouraging, exciting, and an improvement in communication compared to the last year or so.

I really like the sound of the moves and part creator even if I am wondering how steep the learning curve might be for me. It breathes more life into the game too, really glad they have supported the game like they have done. Even if I can't wrap my head around these then I am sure I'll still benefit because the community is really strong.

Good and sad news everyone! I'm really happy and also really sad about this, all at the same time. It's great we're getting new content, but it's sad that it's the end of this Fire Pro era. Well, maybe not the end, but you guys know what I mean.
