Aren't glad I've paid the same price over nearly two and a half years for one game as I would yearly for the leading competitor. Yeah, I mean, that's kind of the thing. The game has been out on PC for what? Almost an entire two years now? Yeah, it's a bummer that it keeps costing more money, but at the same time... so what? We're coming upon essentially our third WWE 2K game since Fire Pro came out. I'm pretty sure it's cheaper than buying a yearly WWE game still.

Yeah. Granted, I bought 2K19 on sale for 20 bucks and I've gotten enough out of it for the price I paid for it, but I can't see myself buying a WWE 2K game for full price with all the issues that have been reported over each release. I got a friend into Fire Pro since I bought the base game for him on PC when it was still 10 bucks in Early Access. He's been messing around with it for the past two days and he's having fun with it. He's gonna grab the Season Pass when he's got the money for it (50 bucks is a bit on the steep side for him to pay, but he'll have access to a lot more content than he does with just the base game). I'm content with paying for the DLC packs we're given if it means I'll be able to play the game for years to come (which I most certainly will), even if I need to take breaks from it. It's certainly not going anywhere, and I don't feel like I'm losing time playing Fire Pro, compared to a yearly title like 2K. It's basically comparing apples to oranges between the two games anymore, but I prefer Fire Pro for a whole myriad of reasons over 2K. I think, not counting copies of the game and DLC that I've gifted to others, I've just about broken even with the typical AAA title price range with whatever special editions of the game are included: *$10 USD for the base game in Early Access *$20 or 30 USD for the NJPW DLC; I forget how much it was off the top of my head ($30 or $40) *$15 USD for the Jr. DLC ($45/55) *$20 USD for Fire Promoter ($55/65) *$20 USD for the STARDOM DLC ($75/85) *$11 USD for the additional NJPW guys and Takiyama Charity DLC ($86/96) So, in total, I've spent roughly 85 to 100 dollars on this game over the last two years or more. I probably could have skipped Fire Promoter and saved myself $20. All in all, I think that's a perfectly fine asking price, since you're getting two of the most popular Japanese promotions today. Plus, if you value the parts and moves, it's even better. I dunno, that's just me though.

I'll gladly take them continuing to add on and support this game (perks of living in 2019)
I would think once they're officially "done" with this project they'll put out a special edition with the base game and all the dlc at a reduced price

With each game, alternate what promotions they can officially tie it in with.

Given that the plan is to release move editors and custom sprite support (that's what technique and part crafting refers to), I don't think there is going to be another game.
Not for a long time, at least.

Given the amount of licensed content in this game, with all the NJPW and Stardom stuff, I've got to imagine a hypothetical next game would be missing a lot of the content from this game. That would stink.

The fact with have this game is close to a miracle, it having actual successful support after release is genuinely incredible but the likelihood of another full blown title in the future seems so unlikely.
While I personally think the Stardom DLC is not worth Β£16, more and more licensed DLC would be a great thing for the community as itβs giving us a continued reason to stick with the game and fulfil our constant need to create/perfect rosters.

Yeah, what I want in a perfect world is not to see another Firepro game in the near future, but to see this one essentially become a platform for whatever new content they may come up with for it, and for it to be that platform for some time.
So bring on the future DLC. Bring on all of it. I don't even care about DDT, but bring it on anyway. Instead of a 60 dollar game every year, give me 60 dollar's worth of DLC for the one I've already invested into creating in. It all just expands this fire pro world.

If they want to make 'another game', I wouldn't say no to them charging me 30$ to redo all the base sprites to the same quality as recent DLCs. ;)

Where the base game heads are almost cartoony.

Instead of a 60 dollar game every year, give me 60 dollar's worth of DLC for the one I've already invested into creating in. It all just expands this fire pro world. Please this. 1 million times this. In fact... π All I want is Fire Pro World as a base game to be added onto for the next 5-10 years. Spike can give us DLC to keep adding moves and parts, and allow us to make moves and parts, and let modders run wild all over everything. I've spent 2 years on FPW and I only have like 50 edits made. I do not want to start all over having to create them in a new game anytime soon. If it wasn't for Freem's tool converting 75% of the guts of my FPR edits into FPW edits, I probably wouldn't have even made it this far with FPW. I honestly may have tapped out that first year. It's only cause of Freem I have what I have since I was able to add onto those FPR bases far easier than I would have been able to start from scratch. In fact, I have not made one edit from scratch in FPW. They all came from FPR bases or have been alternate versions of completed FPW edits. Maybe down the road, down the long and dusty road, Spike will have an idea that genuinely improves the series and requires all new engine/etc (without just tossing out the good stuff that works like FPR's edit mode...) And then I'll accept a new game. But I don't want anything close to 2K-annual releases where we have to throw everything out each year. I'll continue paying for DLC and continue using this game until the next game. I used FPR for 12 years (with minimal breaks) and only stopped playing FPR because of FPW. Hell, I was having more fun making edits in FPR that past year than I ever had in the past with it. I won't grow tired of FPW but I will grow tired of having to port or totally start from scratch my existing edits in new games every few years. As an e-fedder that tries to split time between edit making and story/character development, I hate having to keep creating the same edits. (My stance toward technology in general is that I hate running just to stand still. Changing things without a significant improvement always feels like wasting my time.) The idea of having to recreate edits every year or so is punishing. I especially hate yearly releases of games with only incremental improvements but don't allow data transfer. This isn't Greek mythology. Edit makers shouldn't be Sisyphean, waiting for that boulder to roll back down each August crushing our efforts. if I wanted my edits to get crushed by a giant boulder, I'd create this guy:

In all fairness, if "Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain" had a stage where you had to run from a giant boulder, I probably would have used it as much as the Times Square location π

Pretty much why I stopped making caws in the 2K games. Every year you're making the same wrestlers over and over and over. The game should have been made with the intention of being able to carry over created content from game to game.
