On the note of Silverchair, how great was/is the song 'Freak'? Heck yeah Freak is one of there best songs I mean Tomorrow was the song which got them into the charts and noticed.
But Freak was another blast.
I have freakshow on CD, same as Frogstomp, I also have there rarities CD and a CD single, and lastly I have there 2008 CD which is more pop then grunge sadly but still they are one of Australia's greatest bands
Listen to Madman with Vocals it was released onto there rarities CD though Madman without vocals was released onto Frogstomp.

I am liking the synthwave in this topic. I usually tend towards prog and grunge but there's also a chunk of 80s, "classic rock", "the Southwest style"
Let me put it this way, this was roughly my mix for V-Day night duty:
Boys of Summer- Don Henley One- U2 M- The Cure 1313- The Big Pink Love Comes Quickly- Pet Shop Boys Enjoy The Silence- Lacuna Coil cover Your Love- Keane Believe- Mumford and Sons Through Glass- Stonesour Trust (Time Travelers and Bonfires version)- Sevendust Heart Shaped Box- Nirvana Everlong-Foo Fighters 3 Libras- A Perfect Circle Pins and Needles- Deftones End of Heartache- Killswitch Engage Hey Jealousy- Gin Blossoms Somewhere Tonight- Gin Blossoms Real Love- Mary J. Blige Waves- Mr. Probz Wonderwall-Oasis Maybe I'm Wrong- Blues Traveller Take Me Home Tonight- Eddie Money King of Pain- The Police Only You -112 Arrancame Corazon - Mana I Want You- Common I Want You- Tom Waits

Friends! Rejoice! It's Friday! What do you play on your way home from work? What bangers do you crank up your stereo to eleven to, when you're on the way home as the weekend greets you with open arms? :)
For the moment, here's mine.

This is hands down one of my favorite videos of a musical performance ever I wish that I could have seen this amazing cast and show live but alas, I'll always have Letterman

Recently discovered The Black Wizards, a really cool power/fuzz/blues trio from Portugal. Very late 60's/early 70's vibe, kinda like Cream with a dash of Janis Joplin. Check it out.

Being a musical theater fan myself, Hair was one of those musicals I thought would be rather difficult to revive considering the time and importance of it back in the 60s (The original productions had MEAT LOAF in it. Yeah. It's that far back.), but this cast did it real justice. That aside, I think it goes without saying (see the "Evermore" music video cat in my avatar) that Devin Townsend's Empath has now become my album of the year so far. Such an emotional journey through various genres from musical theater to the heaviest metal. Just an amazing listen every time.

Wasn't sure if I wanted to put this here or in General Bitching but the listeners of one of my local radio stations have dubious taste. www.katt.com/madness/How on earth did Hinder make it to the finals of a fan-vote tournament? I know they're a hometown band but come on.

I haven't listened to the radio in about 20 years. There's occasionally some good music on the radio but A LOT of shit. However, there's tons of awesome, cool music in the world just off the grid, waiting to be discovered. All you gotta do is put in a little effort to find it. Just sayin.

One of the softest and most fake rock bands ever. Even their band name lacks edge.

Oh, it's definitely looking fixed. Regional bias notwithstanding, there's no way a band whose most notable song is about pining for your ex enough to consider cheating should have beaten one of the most popular bands of the 2000s, Linkin Park. Hell, I'm amazed they beat Puddle of Mudd. Not to knock them, mind; they were pretty popular here back in the day. I can't entirely complain about Staind because I remember when they were popular too, even if I'm as tired of hearing "It's Been Awhile" as Aaron Lewis is of playing it. I'm disappointed they beat one of my absolute favorites (The Offspring) to get there but remember the other finalist. TheDenizen: Oh, believe me, my music library goes much deeper than radio standards. I'm just stuck with limited music options for on the job.
