I just learned that John Frusciante has re-joined the Red Hot Chili Peppers again. I liked Josh Klinghofer just fine and thing he did a solid job as RHCP's lead guitarist over the last decade but Frusciante is one of my singularly favorite musicians ever and the Chili Peppers' sound just feels more alive with him playing lead. If/when John leaves again, I'd love to see Josh come back (presuming they don't just retire at that point) but having the "classic" quartet back together again is probably the best music news that I've heard this year.
