^that's really shitty news BakFu, something that I can unfortunately relate to (Missouri isn't far behind Florida and Texas in the bugfuckiness of its elected officials) I actually popped in to say fuck sciatica, and fuck the American health care system and it's infernal prejudices. It took a trip to the fucking ER after two unfulfilling doctors visits to actually get a diagnosis of the intense leg/butt pain that's been bothering me for nearly 3 months. I'm sorry that I don't make enough money to have the really expensive insurance that gets shit done properly the first time and I can't help how I look (wouldn't change it for anything, least of all to sate those bigoted assholes) but I have what I have and I resent being rejected by two physical therapist offices (all within the network said insurance is tied to) and not getting any sort of imaging done after making two visits to the office (which I need to use my scant PTO for) and reporting that things are getting worse. Like what the fuck kind of treatment plan is, "do the same shit you've been doing all along, plus these ineffective muscle relaxers?" The problem with doctors nowadays is they're not taught to heal they're taught to give pills. I have had sciatic problems in the past. If you haven't yet, try this. While standing take the leg that hurts and put your ankle on your other leg above the knee, so it looks like the number 4. Then squat as low as you can, hold on to a chair if you need to. Stay down here as long as you can. You can pretty much do this lying down too but I found it doesn't work as well, at least for me. I also use a ball that I got from Rogue Fitness called a mobility wod. It's hard and has no give making it painful but effective to use. I put it right where the hip joint is. Do it laying on it face down, on your side and on your back. As your laying on it move around in different directions and when you feel pain stay there and after a bit you should feel the muscles relax and the pain subside then repeat. Really focus on trying to get into that hip joint, especially when on your back because you have butt muscle in the way. I think this is easier to understand visually and there are lots of videos on YouTube showing this. These are the two things I did and it's been almost 10 years since my last flare-up. I would also recommend looking up mobility exercises and doing a full body mobility routine every day. It only takes 10-20 minutes and keeps the muscles loose and the joint pains away. As far as your elected officials go, be glad. I live in California, which is run by democrats and we are in bad shape. High crime, high homelessness, low employment. Luckily I live in a small town up north that's more right leaning, but the high gas prices and taxes still effect us. But it's like that in any city or state run by democrats. Look at Chicago, New York, Detroit, Baltimore, Seattle.... they all have the same problems as San Francisco and LA. I'm not saying republican run places are perfect, but there's a reason people are leaving these places and moving to states like Florida, Texas and Idaho.

^Thank you for the stretching tips
I actually began a PT routine last week and am working towards getting it back to normal. When I last commented, I was so inflamed that I couldn't even put a sock on that foot without assistance, and stretching at that point only aggravated it. A week of steroid pills later, it's healed enough at the moment that I have most of my range of motion back and can actually do stretches now. No great progress yet but it's been just a few days and I've understood it takes time and commitment to see results.

No great progress yet but it's been just a few days and I've understood it takes time and commitment to see results. Mine got so bad a one point that when I walked I had to drag my foot on the floor because it was too painful to have my toes pointed forward. I walked around work like that for a few months and that's when I started doing the stretches. Since then I've had a few twinges but never a flare up. While writing this I had a flashback of the first time it got bad. I was living in Hollywood and was a week away from finishing music school and moving back to Northern California, an 8 hour drive. My leg as hurting but I didn't know what it was and it kept getting worse. By moving day I was in serious pain and sitting upright was the worst. Luckily my brother was with me and he had to drive the whole way because I was slumped down in the passenger seat trying to find a position where there was no pain, which there wasn't. That was the longest 8 hours of my life.

Trying to sell stuff on facebook marketplace: Scenario #1 - the dreaded automated reply:
Buyer: "Hi, is this still available?" Me: Yes. When would you like to pick up the item? Buyer: ----------------- Scenario #2 - on an item listed for pickup only:Buyer: Can you meet anywhere else besides your location? Me: Where did you have in mind? Buyer: *Mentions location two hours away for a $20 item.* Buyer: ....And I need it for tonight.
Scenario #3 - the aggressive lowballer:
Buyer: I'll give you (half of asking price) and pickup TONIGHT!
Me: The full price ain't gonna kill you.
Buyer: And it's not going to make you rich either.
Scenario #4 - the marketplace ghost:You agree on price, organize a meetup time & place. Then they stop responding to texts. In 2023, being 'ghosted' is the new norm on facebook marketplace.
Scenario #5 - the marketplace cheapskate:You both agree on price and a meetup time. The buyer shows up, then offers less than
what was agreed upon saying "I only have X".
You refuse to sell and proceed to walk away, only for the buyer to magically find the remaining cash in their car.
Scenario #6 - the marketplace sympathy case:
Buyer: Can I get the item cheaper? I'm coming from a long distance.
Me: Does Walmart offer discounts based on how far away a person lives? Didn't think so.

Imperialism, nationalism, tribalism.
We have one life and one planet. Imagine what we could do as a species if we all hated each other less and looked after each other more.
Sorry, tired of hearing stories of how stupid we are as a species. I think we can do better. 🙂

Subway.
How the f$&k is subway still in business? A flavourless log of stale bread, rotting vegetables, shitty, salty meat, and terrible service, all at higher than ever prices. I can’t wrap my simple, pea brain around how new stores are constantly being built. I must be missing something…
Taylor Swift
Throw away, over produced “music”, barely passable musical talent, scrawny, hatchet-faced girl with a cult like, take as much of my money as you can hold over millions of people. I do not understand, nor will I ever get it.

Trying to make it through my last two shifts of the year with a head cold. Secretly hoping for a breakdown tomorrow to start sending people home early. But it will be yet another year of perfect attendance.

Made it through both shifts sick as a dog. That’s the last time I’m ever going to work sick. After 11 years, never again. Almost called it quits a couple times during the shift yesterday. Fortunately over the hump of the cold now and am mostly just stuffed up.

The back to work depression starting to hit. I go back January 3rd and 4th night shift and I still haven't completely shaken that cold, but it's just a dry cough now. Only one brother made it home for Christmas but on the drive he got a big chip in his windshield and had to leave again the next day to get it fixed. He had his windshield replaced early last year and had a one year warranty on it which would have expired today. All the local glass repair places were closed for the holidays but the one that was still open was all the way back in PEI. So he made a 6 hour drive, stayed over night and had to make a 6 hour drive back.

Well might as well get that perfect attendance for the year out of the way early. I'd been sick with a headcold since December 20th and probably shouldn't have worked the last two shifts I did into Christmas break. Just when that was starting to clear up I get the norovirus which has been running its way through work. I've had that since last Saturday and called in sick Monday and will be calling in sick today even though I'm mostly over it and actually don't feel too bad now, but the last two days were pretty much a bad stomach ache and endless fever dream. My parents had been bugging me in the fall to get a flu shot and I didn't because beyond head colds I really don't get sick often. A reminder of what its like to projectile vomit after not having puked in over a decade was just the thing I needed to get me back into the flu shots.
EDIT: Uh, finally got my appetite back after four days and just ate a full sized bag of Doritos and full sized bag of BBQ chips.

Midway through vacation, temp climbed way back up but we’re being hit by a windstorm. Power out. Can’t sleep since I literally slept all day. Sitting in my porch at 1:30am smoking cigars and listening to the howling wind and audiobook on my phone. Hopefully battery lasts to 5am when I’ll go put a 6 mile walk in. The cold winter hasn’t been kind to me. Probably put on 10 or more lbs and had a holy shit moment looking at my reflection. Spring training starts today.
Also might have a bacterial infection in my mouth. No blood or pain, but the entire left side of my face has been completely numb for 5 days. Could be a trip to the doctor if it doesn’t start subsiding in another day or two. Used an old dental pick since my new ones hadn’t arrived yet and the next morning completely numb on the whole left side of my face, mouth, tongue and throat. Already bit a nice big gouge inside my mouth chewing, but at least it’s painless from the numbing.

I guess I just have to wait until I don't give a damn either way about something or someone for details to emerge.

<abbr>Well, that was new. I guess "let's get this over and done with" was too much, maybe I didn't curtsy just right. But I'm at that point where it's like "if you're going to act this way, then go the fuck away and stay gone."</abbr>

My old scanner crapped out. Now my new scanner goes between using WIFI and a USB that doesn't pick up on my desktop.
on top of that, my antivirus stopped working. Now I need to reformat my computer in hopes of scanning more retro Wrestling content for everyone.
The life of a Fire Pro historian is an arduous one.

Mice ate through my second Ethernet cable in less than two months. When I bought my replacement cable I also bought 10ft of plastic tubing to run the cable through. Hopefully this protects it because they aren’t touching the poison I put out.
