What the Supreme Court did was hand it back to the States. States that were pro-abortion before will likely stay pro-abortion.
States that were anti-abortion are now free to act on that.
Any other salient points were likely already discussed.
And out of women's hands

That really is this philosophical difference between us.
You don't see the fetus as a human life. I do. Abortion is not a reproductive option.
Wrap it up in a condom, use birth control or even the morning after pill.
The first thing I see people bring up is "What about pregnancy by rape?" Out of the millions of abortions each year, how many are due to pregnancy produced by rape?
What I fins interesting is the argument that it is a bunch of cells. I mean, from a strictly materialistic worldview, isn't that what any of us are?
I don't believe that as my worldview is shaped by Scripture.
People just need to use good judgment about who they bed. Men and women both. Choices have consequences and for too long society has acted like there are no consequences.

My problem is people want to force these births and don't want there to be any support for them once they are born especially for the those that are poor.
My philosophy is I don't care how the economy is doing take care of your people first and the economy will stabilize after. I care more about people than money. Money is fake anyway.

You have a valid point there. I believe life starts at conception, and child raising starts at birth...so there should be something in place to give support.
Caring about pregnancy and stopping after delivery is wrong too.

I grew up very poor, but I'm glad my parents didn't abort me. Taking a life because of inconvenience doesn't seem right to me. It's like killing your neighbor because they're too loud, or your boss because they don't pay you enough.
As far as the gas prices, the reason it was lower under Trump was because he had us using more American oil and less foreign. The price did go up towards the end of his term because of covid. People started traveling less so prices were raised to make up for selling less gas. Biden came in, shut down the Keystone pipeline construction and went back to a majority of foreign oil. That's why the war with Russia and Ukraine effected the prices even more.
But in the end we all agree that the government in general is screwing us over. I've heard a few people say we should be paying more taxes because the government needs more support to do the best they can for us.

It blows my mind that the government will spend billions upon billions to help another country but not aid its ow citizens...and that is calling out Republicans as well as Democrats.

Just getting over the first bad cold I have had in almost three years. Started feeling it coming on last Sunday afternoon and was wrecked by Monday morning. Wasn't worried it was covid or anything, although I never tested for it, I'm double vaxed and it just felt like the common cold. I went to work anyway. Monday and Tuesday shifts were absolutely agonizing torture to get through. I always said if I was sick like that again I would call in, but even missing two shifts is a good chunk of change down the toilet and I'm still counting down those car payments for a while yet. I don't like having to play catch up on the bills so I forced myself to go to work.
I honestly think I got it the shift where we had the fire and they told us all to go wait together in the cafeteria. Time frame fits perfectly as it takes about 72 hours for cold symptoms to show from first exposure. That Thursday we spent two thirds of the shift in the cafeteria together. At work I normally don't even use the cafeteria.
Fortunately I am now completely over it except for the final stage of head congestion. Hopefully by the time I catch a cold again the car will be paid off and I can stay home.

I’m beginning to think it may have been Covid after all. Ten people on my crew sent home for testing positive. I’m sure if I got tested it would come up positive. But I’m feeling about 90% now and have no symptoms at all anymore so I’m not losing out on this last shift. They should have sent us home that night instead of making us all go to the cafeteria. I’m positive that’s where it started.

I had some students with COVID who were on Zoom and they seemed perfectly healthy.
Last year when my mother in law passed away and my wife and I had it...it was the Delta variant, and those were 10 horrible days.

driveby posting time: hooboy i see i have been derelict in looking at this thread, especially in the past couple weeks when it managed to grow by 3 or so pages over the course of a couple days' worth of bickering... so, sorry, i gotta come outta my odinsleep long enough to bitch about the bitching thread. i would've done this sooner but in all honesty this site is usually quiet enough that unless something REALLY bad happens, i don't have to take administrative action very quickly.
i get that this is a bitching thread but please refrain from getting into politics. that's even been a rule of this site since it started it 4 years ago!
it's bad enough that political arguments dominate twitter, facebook, and every other major social media site/app, but a site for a dumb sprite-based pro-graps game for 30-year old boomers is probably not the best venue for venting about sociopolitical issues in the United States. one person already left the site over this, which tells me that going into political discussions is a great way to turn this thread into a toxic waste dump instead of just a place to air your grievances about your job or whatever. it turns this less into a "screaming into the void" thread and more a "screaming at each other" thread and it's already bad enough that this kind of discourse dominates most other places online.
this applies to both people frustrated w/the direction the US is going as well as those who are proper chuffed about it, in case anyone wants to say i'm picking a fight with one particular political doctrine. my feelings are probably pretty obvious if you know me at all as a person from off this particular site/community. hell, you can probably infer it just by the fact that i exist in this country as a transgender person. but i'm also reticent to say one kind of venting about the US government is fine when the other isn't. so no playing favorites -- keep your political views to yourself.
and in particular, i'm not sure if this is made obvious to non-admins, but ProBoards, which hosts the forum, has a policy regarding COVID-19 misinfo on ANY forum it hosts. it was originally made regarding telling people of snake-oil alternatives to just masking up for other people's sake in 2020; but i'd certainly count any skepticism of the government or those who pumped capital into research and risk mitigation as misinformation as well. i'd rather not have this site yeeted off the internet because you feel like "just asking questions." so yeah. any skeptic posting, be it overt or roundabout, will be treated with zero tolerance.

Anyone else getting tired of the word “multiverse” yet? Feels like a lazy writing cop out. Does everything really need to tie together, or could we possibly figure out for ourselves that we’re just consuming various narratives set in their respective realms of fiction? I guess Disney and everyone else thinks not. 🙄
