Playing around with the game in Japanese (I need that to help with the movesets) I accidentally overwrote my well-advanced Strong Kobayashi with the default edit.
Not a big deal ;-)
Strong Kobayashi could have been called Basic Kobayashi, also. I mentionned Haku having a simple moveset, this guy is worse, talking about Young Lion level with a Canadian Backbreaker on top of it, and I don't think any of his moves were missing from the game so... that is that.

steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1952390206STRONK. 114 points for Strong Kobayashi, I'm surprised it was this low. But he did have major limitations. But let me tell you, he makes full use of those 7s in parameters. His moveset is well in line with them, and 7 is starting to hurt especially when he hits the powerslam, the backdrop or the canadian backbreaker with their Finish & Special buffs. Maybe some of you don't know Shozo "Strong" Kobayashi, you can find some matches of his on Youtube, mostly from when he's older and even more limited. Basically, he was a star in the 60s and 70s. He comes from the long-defunct IWE promotion where he was the main star, but he spent the last 10 years of his career jobbing to Inoki and being on the mid-card of New Japan. He also wrestled in the AWA and in the WWWF. A bodybuilder, he did not have big technical skills or agility. He was very basic, he finishes with a Powerslam, got the Canadian Backbreaker, Bear Hug, Brainbuster, Atomic Drop as specials... you get the idea. I'm happy we got him. He was a big star in his time. And now he's canon in your game. Up next, Mr. Chin. And this is gonna be FUN because I know next to NOTHING about the man. I know he comes from the same place as Kobayashi, and that's pretty much it. Never seen a match of his. I'll be watching this show... www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_AkdXIFuDEWhere he gets beat twice in a row by a young Masato Tanaka while he's ANCIENT. And that's all I could find so far. He is NOT in the Workshop that I can see. Think about how much crap is on there. This will be a challenge. EDIT: OH. I see. Comedy character. Simpleton maybe. Ugly ass gear. He's got all 1s in his parameters in the guide so... weakest canon character. EDIT 2: Masato Tanaka having to sell a wedgie is great. EDIT 3: Dick Bite. That's a move in Grounded Opp, Face Up, Legs, Strong, right? EDIT 4: I'll assume this guy was different in the 60's. EDIT 5: FUCK, MAN. Mr. Chin is all about that chinko! Danshoku Dino and Joey Ryan ripped off this guy! The original dick wrestler right here! I think he just grabbed himself a handful! Tanaka chopped him, snap mared him and grabbed a headlock in defense, the crowd BOOED HIM. EDIT 6: WHAT THE SHIT?! Elastic fabric attack? Wooden sandal submission? DID I MENTION NONE OF THIS OLD FOSSIL'S MOVES ARE IN THIS GAME?!? I wonder what Human gave to him in Special. EDIT 7: Okay, that's Mr. Chin! Translation time.

This sounds like a challenge for the modders!!
Wooden Sandal submission? I don't even understand that! 😭
LOL that covers a LOT of ground! 😂

I was very entertained reading that post 😁 This sounds like a challenge for the modders!! Wooden Sandal submission? I don't even understand that! 😭 LOL that covers a LOT of ground! 😂 He puts on this bulky wooden sandal, which I know is or were a thing in Japan, and he steps on the stomach. It's like a Stomach Claw but with the foot. And a sandal.

Wow, that is a very weird but unique move! 😁
That also reminds me that FPW really needs that fairly common heel move where a wrestler steps on their opponent's stomach or back and then steps over them with the other foot.

Update on Mr. Chin. Moveset is coming along, it's pretty much done. Then it will be costumes, params & skills and logic...
Back then, Human could not POSSIBLY do this guy justice, and they had to leave out a lot of his stuff. They did give him the fork attack and the eye poke. World has more of his moves, including the Testicular Claw and various low blows. I took the liberty to replace a few of his guide moves (including some obvious low blow replacements) with more appropriate moves.
CPU Logic will be very important here. In the video, Chin stalls quite a bit, but he doesn't really run away. I want that well represented in the edit. Taunts a lot too.

steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1956123566The original dick wrestler, Mr. Chin, now out! As I mentionned previously, zero edit points here. He was made this way by Human. I'm quite proud of the result. Did some great work on the appearence, was able to find two more real life appearences so with the apparence that's in the edit guide, that's your 4 appearences. I made some switches in the moveset to include moves that weren't in the game back then. Logic is sufficiently hesitant and avoiding of contact and more concentrated on going for the nutsack and various other hijinks than winning. So, imagine my surprise when THIS happened in an all CPU battle royale. He did this by mostly staying in a corner for most of the match. Kicked Convict/Super Boy SQUARE in the balls after he got up from pining Haku, then hit the Dick Bite (replaced by Head Drop to the groin) and the foot on the chest for the win. He was equally succesful in singles... What a man. (And then Urquidez scored the KTFO on him) Up next, in celebation of an amazing career, Battle Lyger from the SFPWX Edit Guide, and that is a full official edit, with official logic!

Little change of plans.
I'll take a break from porting the edit books.
I've decided to port the entire roster of Fire Pro Z to World in the coming months.
Why? Well, after playing it some, I find that FPZ is the most chronically UNDERATED game in the series. Not that it beats Returns or World, but Z is a perfectly fine Fire Pro, with a quirky roster, not even considering the Story Mode edits I've already ported. It deserves the attention. Returns was already ported over by at least two other people not even counting my own port, and only a handful of Z edits have been ported.
I've already ported Fujinami, Kimura and Hirata and I've found out that there ARE differences between R and Z edits. Some are obvious and engine related: R has 3 running attacks and 3 running defenses while Z only has 2 of each. This also affects logic. Fujinami has two pair of long trunks in Z he didn't have in R. Hirata has slight moveset and S/F tag changes, and completely different costumes. Kimura has slight logic changes.
Eventually, I'll delete, reorganize and reupload the Anthology to better identify from which game the edits comes from. Currently, I have the year of the edit's game release appended to its name. So for exemple, I now have Tatsumi Fujinami '03 and Tatsumi Fujinami '05. For FPZ STory Mode historical edits, that year would be a rough estimate of the year the edit represent in the wrestler's career. So for exemple, rookie Misawa would become either Mitsuharu Misawa '81 or Mitsuharu Misawa '83, I don't remember if his first match is supposed to represent his debut or his Thesz Cup final, both VS Koshinaka. Might change this system later.
In the very long term, years down the line, I'd like to have the full roster of every Fire Pro in my game where every game is a promotion and every in-game promotion of the original game would be a stable, with things like downloadable content and official edit book edits being their own stable too. And, I'd like to distribute that roster as a standalone pack for people to use, if possible, with a music pack.

Trying to use an FPR base to make the FPZ Gedo, I realized there was no proper 1:1 port of FPR Gedo for World. So that will be an extra with the next batch.
